DOE - Richard (Rick) Thomas 1952 - 2004 Richard (Rick) Thomas Doe of Calgary passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Thursday, August 26, 2004 at the age of 51 years. Rick was born on October 11, 1952 in Lethbridge, AB. He graduated with honours from Winston Churchill High School (Lethbridge) in 1970. Following graduation, Rick moved to Vancouver, BC where he attended Simon Fraser University and received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, during which time he married Heather McKenzie (of Medicine Hat) in 1974. In 1975 they moved to Calgary where he opened and operated The Local Lab Movie Film Services for many years. Rick managed and coached Little League baseball and enjoyed playing pool. He was also an insatiable reader. He cared deeply about his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rick is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Meagan and Phil Hoetger of Calgary; and his son Nigel Doe of Vancouver. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Bob Krystoff of Drumheller; two nieces, Kristyn and Jennifer; a special aunty, Eleanor Ross of Victoria, BC; and special friends, Heather and Danny Manzara. Rick was predeceased by his parents Clara and Sydney, and his brother Barry. EWASCHUK - William (Bill) 1929 - 2004 It is with great sorrow that the family of Bill Ewaschuk announces his passing on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at the age of 75 years. Born on February 19, 1929 at Krakow, Alberta, Bill attended TECH, now known as SAIT, and graduated with his Auto Mechanic's Certificate while apprenticing with Alberta Nash. When Alberta Nash closed its business Bill started his new career with the Calgary Herald and worked there for thirty-four years until his retirement in 1991. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife Annette of forty-seven years; his children, Linda (Victor) Klimavicius, Douglas Ewaschuk, and Barbara (Robert) Pelletier; his four cherished grandsons, Kristopher, Ryan, Bradley, and Collin, all of Calgary; brothers, John (Anne) and Edward (Rosaline); and his sister Elsie; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Mary, and his brother Joseph. BOSSLEY - Norman Douglas 1944 - 2004 Norman Bossley, beloved husband of Diana Bossley of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Saturday, August 28, 2004 at the age of 60 years. Norman was born on June 12, 1944 in Vancouver, BC. He served with the Canadian Armed Forces for twenty-five years at various locations, retiring in 1987 in Calgary. Besides his loving wife Diana, Norman will be remembered by his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Michele Bossley of Calgary; his daughter Sue Bossley of Vancouver; and three grandchildren, Ethan, Matthew, and Jordan. GILLILAND - A. Blake January 6, 1948 - August 21, 2004 Blake Gilliland passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 21, 2004 in Olds, AB. HARRISON - James (Jim) Mitchell 1946 - 2004 James Mitchell (Jim) Harrison, beloved husband of Hope Cochran of Calgary, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2004 at the age of 58 years. Jim was born on July 21, 1946 in New Waterford, Cape Breton, NS. Following his education, he worked with Metro Toronto Housing for twenty-six years. On June 30, 1990 he married Hope Cochran. Upon retiring, Jim and Hope came to Calgary in 2001, where he worked at the City of Calgary Golf Courses, Silver Springs Golf Club and later with Hallmark Housekeeping. Jim loved to play golf, ski, travel, and fish, but especially loved being with his loving family and his best buds, Elliott. Besides his loving wife, Hope Cochran, he is remembered by his son Elliott Harrison; daughter Maureen Droog (Peter) of Brampton, ON; daughter Kerry Harrison (Scott Paglia) of Bellingham, WA; and grandchildren, Cassandra and Evan Droog and Kiara Paglia. He is also survived by three brothers, Greggy Townsend (Shirley), Terry Harrison (Helen) and Danny Smith; two sisters, Linda Ross (Don) and April Hupple (Wayne); also several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother Jean Smith. HARRISON - K. G. (Gord) 1937 - 2004 Gord Harrison, beloved husband of Frankie Harrison of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Saturday, August 28, 2004 at the age of 67 years. Gord was born on February 16, 1937 in Moose Jaw, SK. He moved to Winnipeg, MB in 1958, and on May 22, 1961 he married Frankie. He worked with the Railroad and later with the Manitoba Provincial Government as well as the Federal Government. Gord and Frankie moved to Calgary in 1974. Gord retired from the Calgary Airport Authority in 1996. Besides his loving wife Frankie, Gord will be remembered by his daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Charles Lambert of Garden Grove, California; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Shelley Harrison of Calgary; and four grandchildren, Kristin and John Lambert, and Joel and Jared Harrison.
