MONOD - John The passing of John Monod was witnessed on May 30, 2002, only one month before he was to turn ninety years young. We take great comfort in knowing that he has now gone to a better place. With the previous passing of Kay, his loving wife of fifty-three years, John now leaves his three sons and their families, Phillip, Peter and Nick as well as daughter Stephanie. John's legacy in Banff is one of great pride and success. His family and business were a large part of his life and fulfillment. He was a great businessman and a fantastic sports enthusiast. He worked and lived the mountain life-style that only a man with a true love of the country could do. The family has received many cards and calls of condolences. John's wishes were for people to remember him in their own simple way. He requested we not have a Service or Funeral and simply enjoy a moment however one chooses. We thank you all for your thoughtfulness and concern and join you all in remembering John as the respected pioneer he was. The family will have a private gathering later this month and will express all of your feelings to John then. Thank you for your kindness and thoughts. - Phillip, Peter, Nick and Stephanie292678

V0X 1L0. High Flight Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth And danced the skies on laughter - silvered wings; Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun-split cloud -- and done a hundred things you have not dreamed of - Wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air. Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace where never lark or even eagle flew. And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space put out my hand and touched the face of God. John Gillespie Magee, Jr. 334731
