LANGFORD - Victor Donald On Sunday, August 17, 2003, Victor Langford of Edmonton passed away at the age of 40 years after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Victor is lovingly remembered by his mother Shirley and stepfather Mel Poole; one sister Celeste Langford; one brother Richard (Ronnie) Langford and family; and aunts, uncles and friends. Victor was predeceased by his father Jack. In keeping with Victor's wishes, Cremation has taken place and no formal Funeral Service will be held. MENNEAR - Clifton Hartley October 7, 1910 - August 16, 2003 Cliff passed away peacefully on August 16, 2003 at the Olds Extended Care Unit with his son and grandson at his side. Cliff is survived by his loving wife Lorraine of sixty-one years; daughter Gloria (Bill) Czerniak of Taber; two sons, Tom (Heather) of Sundre and Dan (Mary) of Invermere; as well as eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He is also survived by a brother Albert; four sisters, Mary Dunn, Betty Fergusson, Queenie Green and May Stelter; sisters-in-law, Vera and Ruby; brothers-in-law, Fred and Charlie; as well as many, many nieces and nephews. Cliff was predeceased by his parents Walter and Helena, brothers, Tom, Guthrie and Don, sisters-in-law, Emma, Martha, Hulda, Clara and Alvina, and brothers-in-law, Bill and Ray. Cliff was born in Cornwall, England and immigrated to Canada in 1926 with his family. The family homesteaded three miles north of Sundre. On New Year's Eve he married Lorraine Bechdholt of Sundre. They had three children, Gloria, Tom and Danny. Cliff worked in the trucking industry until 1966 and, not ready to slow down, he and Lorraine worked together cleaning the school. In 1968 Cliff and Lorraine moved to Duncan and later to Vernon, BC, where he was employed for nine years as a caretaker in a seniors' home. Eventually they returned home to Sundre and Cliff was employed at the IGA for many years. Cliff and Lorraine enjoyed a busy life of camping, fishing, working together and spending time with family and friends. After retirement, Cliff was a frequent visitor at the IGA, visiting friends, teasing the staff and basically giving everyone a hard time. Cliff will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor, and most of all for the love and support of his family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Elaine Freeman for her friendship and support to mom, and also to the doctors and the wonderful nurses for the care dad received at the Sundre Hospital and at the Olds Extended Care Unit during his last few months of life. NORQUAY-GERBER - Natasha Denise September 2, 1982 - July 8, 2003 Natasha passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in a tragic plane crash at Willi Peak, twenty kilometers outside Golden, B.C. on July 8. Natasha will be greatly missed by her parents Willy and Denise, and sister Melissa. She will also be missed by her Grandparents, Tony and Irene Petrunic, Margareta Gerber and all of her Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Natasha was a fun-loving person who had a passion for helping others; she has lived each day to the fullest, never forgetting to smile. HEATH - Roy Edgar 1924 - 2003 Loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. On Thursday, October 9, 2003, Roy Heath passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre at the age of 79. He will be greatly missed by Genevieve, his wife of fifty-three years; his children, Shelley (Denny), Cindy, Sandra (Marc), Michael (Ruth), Roy (Patty) and Margo (Stephen); his grandchildren, Natasha, Ryan, Jaimie, Alex, R.J., Danica, Braden, Carly and Lauren; and his great-grandchildren, Rodney, Genevieve, Dakota and Julie. He is survived by his sisters, Enid (Al) Newman, Elaine Chauvin, Linda (Chuck) Boyd; brother Don (Marie); and sister-in-law Rita Heath. He was predeceased by his brother David and his brother-in-law Ray Chauvin. Roy was born in Windsor, Ontario. He was an original member of The First Canadian Parachute Battalion during World War II. KERSEY - Ralph Hubert 1924 - 2003 Ralph passed away at the Peter Lougheed Center on October 5, 2003 at the age of 79 years. Ralph served with the Canadian Army during World War II. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed flying. Ralph being a tax accountant initiated bringing H&R Block into Calgary. Besides his loving wife Fern, Ralph is also survived by three sons and a daughter, Gary, Brian, Chris and Barbara Sirr; and grandchildren, Steven, Sherri, Jason, Becky, Tressa, Daina, Brandon and Jordon. LINTICK - Elizabeth (Betty) Betty, a native Calgarian, passed away on October 3, 2003. She attended Western Canada High School and the Calgary Normal School, and she worked at McGavins Toastmaster for thirty years. Betty will be remembered for her generosity and willingness to help others. Survived by Joyce Noble, Myrtle Lintick, Connie Lintick, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Lloyd and Pauline (Rohl), her siblings, Lois Gilbert, Hugh Lintick and Bob Lintick, niece Tracy Sherman and nephew Marshall Gilbert. Donations to the SPCA. MENZIES - Agnes Agnes Menzies passed away peacefully at the Agape Hospice on Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at the age of 84 years. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty years, Duncan, in 1999. Agnes will be dearly missed by her son Alexander Menzies; daughters, Margaret Callbeck, Claire Menzies; son-in-law David Callbeck; and grandchildren, Cameron, Christyne and James. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Mary McDonald; her sisters-in-law, Selma Menzies, Florentine Hunter, Gladys Muir; as well as by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She left behind to celebrate her life, many friends, both in Winnipeg and Calgary. Agnes was born and grew up on a farm in Elphinstone, Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg where she married Duncan and raised her family. She was an active participant in Westworth United Church and was a volunteer in many community activities such as Meals on Wheels and at the YWCA. She was a great supporter of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Agnes enjoyed crafts and gardening throughout her life. Agnes moved to Calgary in the summer of 1999 to be with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed her new friends at the Huntington Manor often over the occasional game of cards. All who knew her, enjoyed her zest for life and her love of laughter. The family would like to express our deepest gratitude for the care and kindness shown to Agnes and her family over the past few months and, in particular, the staff and volunteers of the Agape Hospice. A Memorial Service will be performed by Reverend Basil Coward at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, at the Good Shepherd Community Church, 6311 Norfolk Drive N.W. in Calgary. There will also be a brief Service and Interment held in Winnipeg at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. on October 24.
