Margaret always lived her life for her children and grandchildren, especially youngest granddaughter "Madi", her special treasure. Mom was a gentle but strong lady always thinking of others before herself, even to the end. Special thanks to her neighbor Dorothy Sunka who was an angel to mom in her last days at home, her dear friend Doris Harrow, special long time neighbours "daughter" Louise and her mom Millie Anderson, and favourite niece Darlene Stinson. DELIA NEILL

DELIA CECILE NEILL (nee MICHAUD) On July 14, 2004, Delia Cecile Neill succumbed to cancer, after a mercifully short battle. All who knew her will agree that no mother ever loved her children more than she did. A strong and loving woman, a mother to eight, she was sadly predeceased by four of her children, two in infancy, Beverly and Patrick, her sons, Spencer in 1978 and Mickey in 2003. Four children survive her, Louise (Cliff Teichrib) of Stonewall, MB, Dennis (Gail) of Thompson, MB, Peggy (Ken Weidman) of Winnipeg and Brian (Hasina) of Irving, Texas. She will be greatly missed by her ten grandchildren ranging in age from 37 years to two years old. They are Laura, Kelly, Lisa, Danny, Pamala, Sheila, Ryan, Kimberly, Kevin and Jasmine. She also leaves behind ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Delia was born icon on June 30, 1925 to Joseph and Marie-Louise Michaud of St. Jean Baptiste, Manitoba. She was raised in this French speaking community. Delia later learned to speak English when the family relocated to St. Boniface. Predeceased by all of her brothers and sisters, George, Jeanne (Dave) Butler, Albert (Eleanor) and Adrienne, to whom she had been known as Mignon meaning little one. She is survived by her sister-in-law Katherine Michaud. To her friends she was known as Del, the tall skinny French girl with a quick wit and sense of humour. In 1943, she attended a dance held at Eaton's Annex on Donald St., there she met a young Canadian soldier by the name of Reginald Neill from Dauphin, MB. The two married in 1944 and Reg went to work in the mines. For several years they moved around Northern Manitoba and North Eastern Ontario. Although this was a hard life, it was one Delia truly enjoyed and fondly reminisced about often. In 1959, she moved her family to the Elmwood area of Winnipeg, where she devoted herself to raising her children. The world will seem a colder place with out you, Mom. We will always remember your unbound love and kindness. No one ever gave more of themselves to their children and grandchildren than you did. You never forgot a birthday or anniversary. Your gifts (especially your knitted ones) and cards will remain as keepsakes in our families for many years and your memory will be cherished forever. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with viewing to be held on Sunday, July 18 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. also at the Chapel. MARGARET REDSTON

MARGARET REDSTON (FINLAY) 1934 - 2004 After a valiant battle with cancer, during which her weapon of choice was often sly humour, Margaret died Saturday, July 10, 2004, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Marg's fighting spirit had a firm grip on life until the very end - always finding a way to communicate as we reminisced, read aloud and shared laughs. Marg is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband John; her daughters, Elizabeth (James Gamble), Nancy (Gordon Sumner) and Jennifer (Dan Davies) and her precious flock of grandchildren - Adam, Mallory, Allyson, Eric, David, Jonathan, Katie, Maggie and Olivia. She is survived by her siblings, Malcolm Finlay (Chichester, England) and Sheila Rogers (Kingston, ON). Margaret had the good fortune of marrying her best friend's little brother (and celebrating their recent 45th anniversary at a wonderfully large yet intimate party). John's siblings, Sheila Mahood (Kingston, ON), Peter Redston (Connecticut) and Marcia Barr (New Mexico) were Marg's beloved second family. Although always humble about her skills as an artist, Marg's watercolours and raku pottery warm the homes of her appreciative daughters. Marg's eye for colour and her love of nature took hold in a wonderful garden where her standard poodle, Kia, continues to rule all he surveys. Marg's compassionate spirit and her detail-oriented, systematic brain, served her well in a rewarding healthcare career. She graduated in nursing from Kingston General Hospital with first prize in anatomy and trained in public health at the University of Toronto. Marg worked in community health for a short time in New Brunswick before she and John put down roots in Winnipeg. After a hiatus to have children, Marg rejoined the workforce with the Victoria Order of Nurses and later served in Manitoba's Health Department until her retirement in 1997 as Acting Executive Director of the Long Term Care. Her long-term focus also extended to the many friendships she cultivated and valued so dearly throughout her life. She was a strong advocate of volunteerism and drew energy from the many committees she served on, her favourite focus and community being the Unitarian Church. Marg's family is eternally grateful to the extraordinary care and compassion of Dr. Roland Hayward. Margaret always looked forward to his daily 5:00 a.m. hospital visits (including Christmas Day). Thanks also to the Victoria General Hospital Oncology Unit and fourth floor nursing staff. A celebration of Margaret's life will take place Thursday, July 22 at the Unitarian Church, 603 Wellington Cres. at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Margaret requested donations be made to the Unitarian Church Building Fund, 603 Wellington Cres., Winnipeg, MB R3M 0A7 or the Victoria Hospital Capital Campaign, 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3T 2E8. Condolences may be emailed to condolences@nbardal.mb.ca. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200

His love of the outdoors was evident in the joy he took in bee-keeping, walking and spending time at the cottage, whether he was fishing or sitting in his favourite shady nook at the shore. He particularly enjoyed the time he spent during the annual summer trips he took with his family who will keep his fond memory in their hearts always. We would like to thank the staff at the Victoria General Hospital, Riverview Health Centre and Deer Lodge Centre for their service and kindness. Thank you to family and friends who have offered support at this difficult time. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. TED ST. GERMAIN

TED ST. GERMAIN March 6, 1935 - July 14, 2004 It is with heavy hearts that the family and friends of Ted St. Germain announce his passing at the Health Sciences Centre. Ted is survived by his sons, Gary (Patti) and Rick Ducharme; his daughter Joanne Bilodeau (Rene) and his very dear friend and companion, Dorothy Dunsmore. He will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Jeremy, Melissa, Michelle, Venice, Ryan, Jordan, Jessica and Brenden, as well as the entire Dunsmore family - who considered him a family member. Ted faced his ordeal with cancer the same way he faced most things in life - with no self-pity, but instead, with optimism and a sense of humour which he used at every opportunity to comfort friends and family alike. When we think of Ted, we'll remember him for many reasons - everything from his powers of observation and the delight he took in nature's many wonders, to the enjoyment he got from watching a wrestling match on television. We would like to thank the staff on GH3 for their care and assistance during Ted's illness. It is very much appreciated. To honour his memory, there will be a gathering of family and friends in the lounge of the Kiwanis building at 500 Widlake St. in Transcona on Sunday, July 25 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may make a donation to the charity of their choice.
