THOMSON - Eleanor Mary (Tinker Morrison nee Tanner)
1911 - 2004
Peacefully at Royal Park, Calgary, on Sunday, September 5, 2004, Mrs. Eleanor Mary Thomson, aged 93 years.
Born in Moosomin, Sask., older daughter of the late Dr. Arthur W. Tanner and Flora B. Tanner, she was educated in Moosomin and Saskatoon, graduating from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Arts in 1931.
Later that year, she began her teaching career at Crane Valley, Saskatchewan.
Further positions followed at St. Chad's in Regina and thereafter at Fort Qu'Appelle until she enlisted in the Canadian Women's Army Corps in 1943.
Commissioned in 1944, she resigned with the rank of captain after the Second World War in 1946.
In the spring of that year, Tinker (as she was known by all of her family and most of her friends) married Iain R. Morrison, then a captain with the Royal Canadian Engineers.
After their wedding in Vancouver, they took up residence in Kamloops, B.C. where her husband resumed his pre-war practise of architecture.
Following his unexpected death in 1955, Tinker moved to Salmon Arm, B.C. to resume teaching.
She became well known in the community for her efforts in establishing and maintaining it as a designation for Community Concerts series and for her support of local drama.
She was well liked by her high school French and English students and she gave much support and help to young women as the senior girls' counselor at Salmon Arm Senior Secondary from whence she retired in 1975. She was also an avid gardener and enjoyed skiing, music and reading.
During her retirement she served from 1978 to 1982 as the South Shuswap Director for the Columbia-Shuswap Regional District.
In 1986 she married Dr. J.A.C. (Tommy) Thomson, a long-standing Kamloops friend and in 1991 after having resided in Victoria, B.C., they moved to Calgary.
In addition to the death of her first husband, Iain, she was predeceased by a second son, John William Morrison, her brothers, John Tanner of Sooke, B.C., Dr. Robert Tanner of Winnipeg, and her sister, Pixie Meldrum of Vancouver, as well as her second husband, Tommy.
She is survived by her first son, Kenneth Alastair Morrison of Calgary and his wife Marleen and their daughter, Elizabeth Brekke Morrison, Marleen's daughters, Genevieve Knapp (Mike) and her children Liam and Amelia, all of Kitchener, Ont., and Rebecca Rowley of Calgary. Tinker is also survived by her nieces, Elizabeth Tanner of Sooke, B.C. and Frances Lindquist (Alan) of Victoria, B.C., and her nephews, Dr. John Tanner (Evie) of Winnipeg and Robert Tanner (Judy) of Saanich, B.C., her stepdaughter, Mary Carlyle (Bruce O'Neil) of Calgary and stepson, Dr. Jamie Thomson (Susan) of Kamloops, and her goddaughter, Pamela Lang (Duval) of Calgary.
Tinker's family wish to thank Dr. Bruce Wheeler and all the staff at Royal Park Calgary Carewest for their gentle and sympathetic care during these past few months.

WILSON - Thomas E.
February 19, 1919 - September 5, 2004
Dorie, Gail and George announce the passing of their beloved father Tom Wilson on September 5, 2004.
Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend and companion who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Tom was born and raised in Nordegg, Alberta, a place which held many special memories for him.
He served in the RCAF during World War II and then received his professional engineering degree at the University of Alberta where he and his wife Marion met many lifelong friends and business associates.
A member of the Southern Alberta Pioneers Association, Tom was proud of his heritage.
He was the grandson of Thomas Edmonds Wilson, the discoverer of Lake Louise and Emerald Lake.
Tom was a dedicated member of the downtown Kiwanis Club where he volunteered much of his time and efforts to Kamp Kiwanis.
He was also an active member of the Glencoe Club and Glencoe Golf and Country Club where he participated in badminton, tennis, bowling, curling and golf.
Tom was an avid football fan, suffering in defeat and celebrating in victory for fifty-three years with his Calgary Stampeders.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all of the staff at the Foothills Hospital and the Tom Baker Cancer Centre for their wonderful care.
At Tom's request the family will be holding a small private Service.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the charities of their choice.

WOPPEL - Rudi
1938 - 2004
Rudi Woppel passed away at the Rosedale Hospice on September 8, 2004 at the age of 66 years, surrounded by his family and best friend.
Rudi is lovingly remembered by his wife Jutta; two children, Debby (Adrian) and Rick (Susan); grandchildren, Ashlynn, Veronika, Tiffany; mother Elvira Merk; stepsister Louise Merk; his best friend Sepp Hagen as well as many other friends in Calgary and Germany.
Rudi was born in Goettingen, Germany on January 11, 1938.
He immigrated to Canada in 1954, where he worked as a cribber for V & E Construction.
Rudi loved the outdoors and hunting.
He was a long-time member of the shooting club Diana and was their Kaiser.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Sunday, September 12, 2004 at 4:00 p.m.
If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Rosedale Hospice, 920 - 7A Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2M 3J3.

WYLIE - Bradford (Brad)
1952 - 2004
Brad Wylie, beloved partner of Marette Gillen, loving son of Eunice, and devoted father and stepfather of Samantha, Joshua, Jesse, Shannon and Sean passed away suddenly from heart failure on Monday, September 6, 2004.
Brad was predeceased by his father, Don.
His love and laughter will also be sadly missed by his brothers, Shawn (Penny), Kelly (Cathy), and Kim, his sister Jeri (Mike) and the mother of his children, Andree Parenteau-Wylie. His multitude of extended family and friends will join the mourning along with his nieces and nephews.

ZEER - Tyler Travis
June 12, 1988 - September 8, 2004
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Tyler after a tragic football accident.
Tyler was a very generous, caring person with a huge heart.
Tyler was always ready to help anyone in need that crossed his path.
He had a wonderful network of friends and a very supportive family.
Tyler's biggest passion in life revolved around sports.
He played soccer, baseball and football since he was five and he always gave two hundred percent to any challenge he faced in life or sports.
The NHL was very important to him too.
Tyler was planning for post education and had expressed an interest in joining the police force.
For the past two years Tyler worked part-time alongside his father at Canam Auto Glass and was very much loved by Gabe and staff. Tyler will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his mother, Debbie Dollimount; father Clayton Zeer; stepmother Debbie Sinclair; half-brother Nicholas Sinclair; step-siblings, Jessica and Brock Selby; grandparents Chuck and Casey Zeer, and John and Audrey Dollimount; aunts and uncles, Sandra and Wayne Hubele, Sandra and Eric Parsons, Tracy Zeer and Hal Smith, Lorne and Wendy Zeer, and Lorraine Zeer; cousins, Travis and Deanna Parsons, Hailey and Lisa Zeer, and Cayle Gendron. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Kathleen.
Tyler's life touched many people and he will be greatly missed by numerous other relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks for the outstanding care and support provided by the ICU staff at the Alberta Children's Hospital.
Also, the support extended by the Calgary Stampeders Football Club is sincerely appreciated by the family and would have meant very much to Tyler.
A Service and reception for family and friends will be held at St. Stephen's Anglican Church at 1121 - 14 Avenue S.W., on Saturday, September 11 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Tyler's trust fund through Scotiabank (Marda Loop branch, 2001 - 33 Avenue S.W., Calgary, T2T 1Z5.

TAYLOR - Pauline
1939 - 2004
Pauline Taylor, beloved wife of Mr. Dennis Taylor of Calgary, passed away at home on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at the age of 64 years. Pauline was born in Nashville, Tennessee on November 11, 1939.
Besides her loving husband Dennis, Pauline is survived by her son Darrell and his wife Janice of Sundre, AB; brother James Jones of Calgary; stepmother Betty Jones of Calgary; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Pauline was predeceased by her parents, Anna and James Jones.

THOMPSON - Ralph Ralph Thompson of Canmore passed away on Monday, September 6, 2004 at the age of 55 years.
Ralph was born July 16, 1949 in High River, Alberta.
He will be lovingly missed by his wife Mardell Thompson; his children, Jason (Terry) Thompson, Jamie Macleod, Jehri (Carolyn) Macleod; grandchildren, Jordan Thompson and Nicole Macleod; as well as his mother Avis Thompson; brother Allen (Diane) Thompson; sister Alana Thompson, and many nieces and nephews.
Ralph was predeceased by his father Gordon Thompson and his beloved daughter Lynett Thompson.
Funeral Services will be held at LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOME, "Chapel of Remembrance" (17 Avenue and 2 Street S.W., Calgary) on Saturday, September 11, 2004 at 2:00 p.m., with viewing prior to the Funeral Service.
