ANNE HEIBERT
1919-2009
ANNE HEIBERT passed away with grace and dignity on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit in Lethbridge, surrounded by her family, after a full and happy 90 years of life.

Anne was born is Steinbach, Manitoba, in 1919, the second youngest of the six children of Marie and George Goossen. She was baptized in her early teen years in the river Seine, close to Ste. Anne, Manitoba. At the age of 20 she went to Guelph, Ontario, where she stayed with her brother Irvin and attended hairdressing school.

In the late 1940s, she moved to Lethbridge, where she met and married Bill Heibert, who had been stationed at Pierce, Alberta, during the Second World War. They lived for 34 years in the home that Bill and his dad built on 14th Avenue South, and had 3 children, Gail, Lorne, and Gerald. Anne and Bill were founding members of McKillop United Church; Anne was very active with UCW, and helped Bill from time to time at the family business, Jack’s TV. Anne’s greatest joy was raising her family in a loving and nurturing environment.

In 1986, Anne and Bill moved to Osoyoos, BC, where they had a very happy retirement in their lakefront home. When Bill passed away in January, 2006, Anne moved back to Lethbridge to be closer to her family. She lived at The View At Lethbridge for her last 3 years, and enjoyed her time surrounded by dear friends and companions.

Anne is survived by her children, Gail (David) Green, Lorne Heibert, and Gerald Heibert (Ron Ellis), brother George (Eileen) Goossen, grandson Craig (Alana) Anderson, and great grand-daughters Katherine and Kristen Anderson-Bain. She was predeceased by her husband Bill, granddaughter Hilary Anderson, and 4 eldest siblings.

Anne’s life will be celebrated at a Memorial Service at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at MCKILLOP UNITED CHURCH, 2329 15th Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB., with Reverend Cathy Coates and Reverend Trevor Potter co-officiants.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial tributes in her name to St. Michael’s Health Centre – Palliative Care, 1400 9 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1J 4V5.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the doctors and staff at Chinook Regional Hospital and St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit for the wonderful care and support that they provided to Anne and her family in their time of need.

DONNA HOVER
1928-2009
DONNA JEAN HOVER, beloved wife of Dr. Billy J.V. Hover, of Lethbridge passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Monday, October 19, 2009 at the age of 81 years.

She is the loving mother of: daughter Billie Jean Hover of Lethbridge and Dr. John Vincent Hover of Lethbridge; grandmother to Dr. Shayne Vincent Tyee (Tiffany) Hover of Lethbridge, Shamyne (Michael) Hover Dumouchel of San Diego, California; and great-grandmother to Isabelle Jayne Hover of Lethbridge. She is also survived by her brother James Davis of Seattle, WA.

Donna was born May 13, 1928 in Seattle, WA., and married Billy on September 25, 1946, happily married of 63 years.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB., on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:00 A.M.

In memory of Donna, donations may be made to ADRA Canada, P.O. Box 5007, Red Deer, AB. T4N 6A1.

DALE E. HARPER
1947-2009
DALE E. HARPER, beloved son of Irene Harper of Lethbridge passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at the age of 62 years.

On Sunday evening, Dale departed on his final journey. An avid traveler Dale was fortunate to visit many destinations in Asia, Africa, The Philippines, New Zealand and his beloved Australia. His favorite place was Western Australia where he had many dear and close friends. Every trip had him telling many, many stories of his adventures. He developed many friendships through his years in his participation and passion for curling and golf. For the past 25 years Dale was employed by the City of Lethbridge, working in the Streets and Traffic Division.

Dale is survived by his Mother Irene. He was predeceased by his father Ross.

At his request, no funeral will be held.

IVKA HORMOTH (KADEZABEK)
1909-2009
IVKA HORMOTH, beloved wife of the late Ivan Hormoth, of Lethbridge passed away peacefully, with her family keeping vigil, on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the age of 99 years.

Left to mourn are her sons Tony (Rose) of Lethbridge, John (Anita) of Coal Harbour, B.C., daughter Irene (Ralph) Harris of Lethbridge, sister Aloizya Malik in Croatia, 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews both in Canada and Croatia.

Ivka was predeceased by her loving husband Ivan in 1984, parents Stejpan and Josephina Kadezabek, brothers Josip, Stejpan, and Juro, sister Mara Sedlacek, and grandson Robert Hormoth.

She immigrated to Canada to be with Ivan her future husband. She arrived May 24, 1933 and they were married May 30, 1933. They settled in Taber and worked in the sugar beet fields until 1936 before moving to Port Alberni, B.C. In 1945 the family returned to Alberta and settled on a farm west of Iron Springs. Ivan and Ivka left the farm in 1963 and built a home in Lethbridge. Ivan worked as a finish carpenter in Lethbridge and retired in 1973. Ivan and Ivka sponsored several nieces and nephews to immigrate to Canada.

Ivka loved the land and enjoyed her vegetable and flower garden wherever she lived. She excelled in cooking and baking Croation foods and taught all the girls in the family how to make them. In her free time she made doilies and afghans for her children and grandchildren. She was a member of C.W.L. and Croation Fraternal Union. Grandma, as she was known to all, enjoyed the company of family and friends and especially the children.

Thanks to all staff at West Highlands Care Centre for your kind and compassionate care.

A Prayer Service will be held at CORNERSTONE CHAPEL, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB., on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. with Prisca Baptiste officiating.

A Funeral Mass will be held at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 – 12th Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB., on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Tim Boyle celebrant.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations in her memory can be made to West Highlands Centre Bus Campaign, 2687 Garry drive West, Lethbridge, AB. T1J 5A3.

JOSEPH RICHARD HACZKEWICZ
1936-2009
On Saturday, October 3, 2009 Joseph joined our Lord’s side in the glorious afterlife to be reunited with his beloved wife Dollie. JOSEPH RICHARD HACZKEWICZ was born on June 10, 1936 in Dobrowody, SK.
“Joe” to his family and friends will be lovingly remembered as a man who loved his family, friends, church, baseball and Hawaii. Prior to his parting, he had planned his 40th trip to Hawaii for the New Year.
He spent his childhood in Hudson Bay, SK., and as an adult lived in Saskatoon, SK. and Medicine Hat, AB., before finally calling Lethbridge home. Joe spent his entire career in grocery, retail and at the time of his passing was working at London Drugs. He was a hard working, generous and devoted person who always thought of the needs of others first. Joe enjoyed an active lifestyle that included watching baseball (both minor and major - reminiscing of his ball days), walking, reading, travelling and spending time with friends and family.
Joe leaves us to join his daughter Heather Dawn Haczkewicz (in infancy), wife Dollie Haczkewicz, parents Stanley and Bernice Haczkewicz, brother Anthony Haczkewicz, sisters Mary Haczkewicz (in infancy), Isobel Casement and Debra Haczkewicz.
His memories are left with his daughter Pamela (Perry) Wirth of Unity, SK., and her mother Joyce (Raymond) Green, grandchildren Ashley, Perry Jr. and Leevi; sisters Theresa Haczkewicz, Delores Haczkewicz, Florence Bergen and Wanda Burbeck; aunts Sr. Fulgentia and Sr. Cunegunde, special friend Marge Manderville, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB., on Friday, October 9, 2009, with Canon Allan McCuaig officiating.
In memory of Joseph, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Box 2211, Lethbridge, AB., T1J 4K7.

ROBYNNE GAY HEINE
1958 - 2009
ROBYNNE GAY HEINE, beloved wife of Olaf Heine, of Lethbridge, AB. passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the age of 51 years.

Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her sons Clark Smith of Vancouver, B.C. and Tanner Smith of Vancouver, B.C.

She was predeceased by her parents Nancy and Jerome Platt and her four siblings Raymond, Reed, Richard and Reva.

Robynne was a fun loving woman with an extremely outgoing personality. She was known for her sense of humor and adventure. She was the life of the party and leader in all aspects of life. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. Let’s Go!!!

A Celebration of her life will be held at 66 LYNX PLACE NORTH, Lethbridge, AB. on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 2:00 P.M.

WILDA EVELYN IMHOFF
1924-2009
IMHOFF
WILDA EVELYN IMHOFF, beloved wife of the late Victor Imhoff, passed away at the Coaldale Health Care Centre, on Friday, September 4, 2009 at the age of 84 years.
As per Wilda’s request, no funeral service will be held.

ALEX IVANCO
1933 - 2009
Alex was taken from his family April 2, 2009 as a result of cancer. He will be sadly missed by his wife Marlene and children; Tyler, Gregory and Marlyse; dear daughter in-law, Amelia (Toplak) Ivanco and son-in-law and friend Don Peterson. He leaves to mourn his six granddaughters; Tasha, Meagan, Trina, Ali, Trisha and Shae; nephews Shane, Leigh, Graham and niece Mardelle. Alex was born in Lethbridge, AB. Detective Sgt. Alex Ivanco served the City of Lethbridge as a police officer for 32 years. After retirement he spent many a weekends in the shadow of Old Chief Mountain at his cabin at Duck Lake, Montana. He was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Mary Ivanco and his only sibling Joseph Ivanco. 'An ordinary life for an ordinary person.' Thanks to Dr. Haberman, Dr. Holland and all the wonderful girls at the Cancer Clinic, we had a few more months with Alex. In keeping with Alex's wishes there will be a private family service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, #207, 542 7th Street South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 2H1 or Alberta Lung Association, Box 4500 Station South, Edmonton, Alberta T6E 6K2.
