Mom will be remembered with great love by her children, Lawrence and Sherri and their children, Elliott, Breanne, and Myles; Joan and Gary Swaffer and their children, Jill and Mark; Gay and Dwight Stewart and their children, Jonathan and Elizabeth; and Heather Mousseau. Mom was born icon and raised in Bird's Hill, later moving to Edmonton with her father. She attended Normal School and worked as a teacher in the North and at the Shrine Hospital in Winnipeg. In 1944 she and Dad married, moving back to Bird's Hill when he left the Air Force at the end of the war. Mom was always active in the community -- as a Girl Guide Commissioner, Sunday School teacher at Bird's Hill United Church, member of the East St. Paul Home and School Association, and a substitute teacher. Upon Dad's retirement, they moved to Winnipeg, enjoying winters in Mesa and summers at West Hawk Lake. She was an avid reader and, as her eyesight began to make that difficult, began knitting the afghans that will be treasured by all her children and grandchildren.
