VICTORIA NIEVES August 21, 1920 - June 30, 2004 On Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at St. Boniface Hospital, Victoria Clavo Nieves (aka Toying) passed away at the age of 83. Victoria is survived by her daughters, Cinda (Myung Soo), Lutgarda, Norma (Manuel) and Lailani; grandchildren, Rayan, Megan, Janah and her precious Isaiah-Chia (great grandson); favourite niece Emerlinda (aka Meyen), favourite nephew, Junner and other relatives in the Philippines especially the Pimentel's, Arca's and Clavo's. She is also survived by her sisters, Narcisa (Sisang) Arca and Loreto (Loring) Pimentel. Victoria was predeceased by her husband Raul, parents, Timoteo and Cristina, brothers, Juan and Jorge Clavo. The family wishes to thank Dr. Maila Gabriel and the staff of 6A Medicine at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and support. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at 2:30 p.m., Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). Interment will follow in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens with a gathering of family and friends in the Glen Lawn Reception Centre. RONALD ERLING NORBERG Suddenly at his residence, Ronald Norberg died on June 22, 2004. He was born icon in Meadows, MB on October 11, 1932, to Maria and Julius Norberg. Ron is survived by his children and their partners, Alison Norberg, Garth and Michele Norberg, Sherryl and Mario Igniti, Roger Norberg and Robert Fairbairn, Andrea and Jose Pereira, Cynthia and Daniel de Sousa; their mother Katherine; his grandchildren, Janelle, Lauren, Zachary, Travis, Kira, Amanda, Ryan, Serena, and Ericka; and his surviving siblings and their families, Regina, Emma, Gunnar, Edwin, Ruth, George; his sister-in-law Dorothy; and his brother-in-law Ralph. We honour Dad's life and his memory in how we love our children. The memorial service for our dad was held June 26 at Young United Church, with the Rev. Lynette Miller officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Agape Table. "neither death, nor life,... nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God"

He is survived by his wife Valerie, sons Colin (Janet), Ian (Chantelle), Derek (Cynara), and daughter Kimberley, grandchildren, Whitney, Brayden, Taylor, Sarah, and Raina, sisters, Eleanor and Margaret and families in Scotland, Aunt Maud, Uncle Archie, cousins, Alan and Sandra in North Ireland. MORRIS PROKOPPA OCTOBER 12, 1930 - JUNE 29, 2004 Peacefully, on June 29, Morris lost his battle with diabetes. with his family by his side. Morris is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia (Palmer), his four children; Colleen (Bernie) Cheater, Russell (Elaine), Glenn (Della) and Shelley Lane (Buddy), his ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Predeceased by father Andrew, his mother Jessie and his brother Stan. Morris started as a baker at Eatons for fourteen years where he met his wife. He then became a police officer and served with the City of Winnipeg for 27 years. Along with these jobs, Morris wore many hats, he was an electrician, carpenter, house builder, security guard and all around handyman. His hobbies included playing guitar, making jewelry and fishing. Rumour has it that he actually caught husky, the Musky in Kenora. Morris spent his years working at Eatons in his favourite suit, a Santa suit and was once named the best Santa in Winnipeg. Although he portrayed a gruff exterior, those who knew him best, knew he was the biggest teddy bear in the world. The only thing bigger then his hands was his heart. Thank-you to the staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital Units 5 and 7 on the third floor. Morris will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dialysis Unit of Seven Oaks Hospital. A celebration of Morris' life will be held on Tuesday, July 6 at 1:00 p.m. at St, Andrews Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Ave.

JACOB (JAKE) WIENS REIMER On July 1, 2004 at Riverview Health Centre, Jacob (Jake) Wiens Reimer, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, journeyed home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, his eldest daughter Ruth at his side holding his hand. Besides his wife Mary of 58 years, Jake is survived by four daughters, Ruth (John) Robinson, Calgary, AB, Bernice (Dan) McDonald, High River, AB, Dorothy (Bob) Pitt, Winnipeg, Elizabeth (Barry) Litster, Winnipeg.; three sons, Bill Reimer, Calgary, Ed Reimer and Thora Barnett, Winnipeg, Donald Reimer, Calgary; 16 grandchildren, Carmen, Ryan, Marcee, Brendan, Meagan, Jake, William, Remington, Bryan, Alyssa, Brittany, Nelson, Montana, Alexis, Georgia and Camille; and two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Karlo. Jake is also survived by two brothers, Died and Mary, Winnipeg and Henry, Vancouver. Jake was predeceased by his parents, Johan and Maria Wiens Reimer; two sisters, Tina and Mary; four brothers, Jacob, Abe, John and Bill; and one granddaughter Amber. Jake was raised on the family farm at Silberfeld, MB. He was baptized at age 22 and lived his faith fully, serving as a faithful member at Home Street Mennonite Church for the past 44 years. The family cherishes his gifts of Christian heritage, unfailing love, humour, loyalty, generosity, compassion, forgiveness and integrity, enjoying many long happy years with him. Jake worked as a farmer, lumberjack, miner and welder, retiring in 1989 from CPR after 21 years. In retirement years, Jake enjoyed expressing his creativity through woodworking and left a legacy of his craftsmanship through the many projects created for family and friends. The family wishes to thank all the medical staff who cared for Jake over the past six months, Dr. Doermer, Dr. Harris, Dr. Crow, Dr. Popowich, the nurses at Concordia and Riverview Hospitals, and Palliative Home Care. Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 4, 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Home Street Mennonite Church, 318 Home St., with Pastor Tym Elias officiating. Interment will follow in Mennonite Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, donations in Jake's memory may be made to Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), or the Canadian Bible Society. ESTHER MAE ROBERTSON 1918 - 2004 After a brave struggle, Mae passed away Monday, June 28, 2004 at Goodwin Lodge with her special friend Lynn by her side. Mae had no known relatives, but moved to Teulon to live with Beckstead's for a number of years. She then lived at Cedar Lodge until she went to the Personal Care Home. Howard and Doris Smaldon, Louis and Donna Riley and family, Gary and Mitzi Smaldon and family and Lynn Hainstock and family were blessed to have Mae as a part of their family. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 5 at Windsor Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Lunch to follow at the Anglican Church Hall. A special thanks to the staff at Goodwin Lodge. CLEVIS JOSEPH TREMBLAY Clevis Joseph Tremblay, born icon February 23, 1920, passed away at home, June 28, 2004. Dearly beloved husband of Averiel (nee Charnley). They were married July 5, 1947. Left to cherish his memory are daughters, Michele, Melanie (Richard); and his two beloved grandchildren, Michael and Nicole. He was a loving husband, father, Papa, and always tried to help others in need. Known as a hard worker, he retired from Livingston Distribution in 1985 after 39 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed his retirement years at his cabin at Round Lake, SK, camping at Bird's Hill Park with family and fishing in Sioux Lookout, ON. Cremation has taken place. Funeral services were held in Abbotsford on June 11. A memorial service celebrating Randy's life, will be held Monday, July 5 at Springs Church, 595 Lagimodiere Blvd. at 7:00 p.m. In an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to a trust fund for Randy's sons, William and Carl or a charity of your choice.

UNA GORMAN WILLIAMS (nee McKENZIE) 1923 - 2004 passed away Sunday, June 27 at home in Sooke, BC. Una was born icon in Kirkfield Park, MB, fifth daughter of Samuel and Mary McKenzie. She was predeceased by her husband Jack and sisters, Eleanor, Grace and Margaret. She is survived by sisters, Ethel Morley of Vancouver, BC and Kay Church of Winnipeg, MB and 18 nieces and nephews. Her near and dear nieces, Vivian, Toni, Sue, have been helping her these past six months. Una worked for T. Eaton Co. for almost 25 years, participating in many club activities including skiing, golf and acting. She was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and C.W.A.C. (militia). After their marriage, she and Jack resided in several Canadian Armed Forces bases in Germany and Canada, retiring to Sooke, BC in 1982. Some of her Sooke activities included golf, aqua fit, meals on wheels, garden club, Royal Canadian Legion #54, Ladies Auxilliary #54 and Sooke Community Choir. Each Saturday, Una contributed to the legion by selling her wonderful baked pies. Una loved her two cats as well as neighbourhood cats who enjoyed their daily meals on her patio. Her beautiful smile will be missed by all who knew her. Our sincere thanks to her friends, the Vancouver Island Health Authority, Juan de Fuca Home Support (especially Edna and Dianne), Sooke Hospice Volunteers (especially Carol) and Dr. Robin Saunders for their kind help. A memorial service will be held at Royal Canadian Legion, 6726 Eustace Rd., Sooke, at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 9. FRANCES ZOSIAK On Thursday, July 1, 2004, Frances Zosiak, aged 87 years of Teulon and formerly of Fraserwood, MB passed away at Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital. Survived by two sons, Gordon (Monique), Rose, mother of Deborah and Sandra, and James; two great-grandchildren, Shane and Melissa; brother Steve and sister Rose (Chris) Reichert; sister-in-law Kay Sokolowski; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special cousin, Nancy Dudar. Predeceased by her parents and her husband John in 1991; two sisters, Ann in San Fransisco and Mary in Winnipeg, and brother John in Vancouver. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel. Teulon Deacon Harry Chuckry will officiate. Born April 14, 1917 at Rembrandt, where she also received her education. Mom and Dad farmed at Rembrandt until 1947 when they moved to Fraserwood. They farmed at Fraserwood until 1966 when they retired. In 1989 they moved to Teulon where she resided until her passing. WILMA ATKINSON 1925 - 2004 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wilma Atkinson, aged 79 on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at the Concordia Hospital. Wilma will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Terry (Rosella); daughter Karen (Greg) Hygaard; grandchildren, Dylan and Kelsey Hygaard; sister Muriel Alexander; and many friends and relatives. Wilma was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Alexander. Wilma was born icon in Vista, MB on February 4, 1925. Wilma lived her life with great strength and dignity. One of Wilma's greatest pleasures was spending time with her family. Dylan and Kelsey both benefited from Grandma's nurturing ways in their earlier years. Wilma enjoyed playing the piano and was a loyal follower of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. She appreciated the support and well wishes from all her friends and relatives. The family wishes to express their sincerest appreciation to the staff at Kildonan Personal Care Home for their kindness and care of our mother over the past year and a half.
