ANNETTE AQUIN (nee BOULET) 1924 - 2004 Entouree de sa famille, notre chere et douce maman a gagne son ciel et s'est retrouvee dans les bras du Seigneur le 21 aout 2004. Fille de parents defunts, Josephine et Alfred Boulet, elle est nee le 30 aout 1924. Elle fut ainsi precedee par notre papa Lionel (le 10 octobre 2000) et par son frere Marcel. Mere devouee de 12 enfants, Marcel, Jean (Linda), Henrie (Pat), Marguerite Lussier, Pierre (Lea), Therese Tinguely (Charlie), Gisele Brunet (Coco), Colette Lesage (Donald), Michelle Lesage (Raymond), Lucille, Celine Rochon (Barry), Louise Boissonneault (Ray), 34 petits-enfants et six arriere-petits-enfants, ainsi que sa soeur Gabrielle Boulet et son frere Jules (Yvette) Boulet. Ses plus grandes joies furent sa foi en Dieu et son amour pour sa famille. Elle fut grandemont appreciee, respectee et aimee par tous. Nous nous souviendrons toujours de sa joie de vivre, sa grande patience, sa gentillesse, son sourire, ses conseils spirituels ecrits dans nos cartes de fete, ses nombreux talents, ses repas, son sucre a la creme... Maman, merci de nous avoir berces, tout au long de notre vie. Tu nous as appris a aimer et a prier. Tu as bien acheve l'oeuvre que Dieu t'a donnee. Ta joie est grande. Tu ne nous quitteras jamais... nous te garderons toujours dans nos coeurs. La famille aimerait remercier le docteur S. Mink pour son devouement envers maman ainsi que les soins palliatifs. Le visionnement aura lieu le 25 aout 2004, a 13h30 a la Cathedrale de Saint-Boniface, 190, avenue de la Cathedrale. Les funerailles suivront au meme endroit a 14h. L'abbe Marcel Carriere presidera la celebration. L'inhumation aura lieu au cimetiere de Saint-Boniface, rue Archibald. Ce n'est pas la fin, ce n'est qu'un aurevoir. On August 21, 2004, with her family by her side, our beloved mother, Annette Aquin, went peacefully into the arms of the angels. Daughter of late Josephine and Alfred Boulet, maman was born icon on August 30, 1924. She was also predeceased by our dad Lionel (October 10, 2000) and her brother Marcel. Left to cherish her memory are her 12 children, Marcel, Jean (Linda), Henrie (Pat), Marguerite Lussier, Pierre (Lea), Therese Tinguely (Charlie), Gisele Brunet (Coco), Colette Lesage (Donald), Michelle Lesage (Raymond), Lucille, Celine Rochon (Barry) and Louise Boissonneault (Ray), 34 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, her sister Gabrielle Boulet and her brother Jules Boulet (Yvette). Mom left us with the greatest gift of all, the love of family. She had the most important and rewarding career, that of a Mother. Please do not cry for her, for her joy is great. The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate care provided by Dr. S. Mink as well as the palliative care staff. The viewing will be held on August 25 at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Boniface Cathedral, 190 avenue de la Cathedrale, followed by the funeral mass at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Fr. Marcel Carriere presiding. JACQUELINE MONA BARRETT (nee CLARKE) May 30, 1946 - August 21, 2004 Peacefully on Saturday August 21, 2004 at Riverview Health Centre at age 58, after a courageous battle with inflammatory breast cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Jackie was born icon in Winnipeg, MB the oldest daughter of Neil and Mona Clarke. She spent her childhood in Riverview. While working at James Richardson & Sons she met Al Barrett on a blind date and they were later married. Al and Jackie shared 35 years together. After raising her children Jackie returned to the workforce with Manulife Financial for 17 years until her illness 10 months ago. Jackie was a beautiful woman who brought joy, love and happiness wherever she went. She was loved and admired by her family, friends and coworkers. She will be greatly missed. Jackie always gave to others unselfishly which was most evident in her love for her immediate and extended family. She was a dearly loved and treasured wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend and her absence in our family will be deeply felt. Her courage, strength and smile, even in great adversity gave hope to us all and we will cling tightly to our treasured moments. Jackie enjoyed time at the family cottage at Tannis Lake. She loved travelling with her family and listening to music. She was an avid sports fan. Jackie vigorously pulled for her sons' sports teams and travelled to many parts of the world to see them play. Her favourite professional team was the Toronto Maple Leafs. Jackie enjoyed helping people. She was a Beaver leader, treasurer of Norberry C.C., and a longtime member of IODE. Jackie was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Edith and Daniel Clarke; maternal grandparents, Vera and Cliff Allbutt; mother-in-law May Barrett; sister in-law Patricia Clarke. Jackie is survived by her loving husband Al; son Kevin (Amy) and grandchildren, Greyson and Hudson; son Darren (Kiersten) and grandchildren, Megan, Addison and Davis; son Brent (Roxanne) and grandchildren, Samuel and Aidan; parents, Neil and Mona Clarke; siblings, Bob, Betty (Roger), Barb, Tom (Diane) and their families; father-in-law Ray Barrett (Bea); brother-in-law Vern (Ellen) and family; sister-in-law Val (Bob) and family. A memorial service in celebration of Jackie's life will be held on Saturday, August 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Highway No.1 East at Navin Road. We wish to extend our sincerest thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at CancerCare Manitoba with a special thank you to Dr. Grenier, Dr. Butler and nurse Lori Lavigne. Thanks also to the doctors, nurses and staff of the palliative care unit who made the end of this journey more bearable. Yvonne Catagas-Chamberland passed away at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg on Friday, August 20, 2004 with her family at her side. She was predeceased by her mother Virginia Catagas (1982) and leaves to mourn her seven children, Sandra (Calgary), Sheldon (Calgary), George (Edmonton), Maureen (Nebraska), Pricilla (Brantford, ON), Vernan (New Orleans), Jan (Winnipeg); four grandchildren, Colt, Hope, Cheyenne and Jacob; her husband Joseph Chamberland; beloved brothers and sisters, Ralph, Michael, Graham (Lisa), Alice (Henry), Vicky (Abe) and Arlene (Alvin); cousin Bobby James Ironstand; as well as many nieces and nephews. Over the past many years, Yvonne was plagued with many chronic illnesses that had taken their toll on her health. Yvonne's greatest joy involved her family. She was a great supporter and was always encouraging, loving and proud of everything they did. Our happiest memories are of the love and the companionship we shared with our dear sister Yvonne. Her love, her fighting spirit and her infectious positive attitude will never be forgotten. She loved her home reserve of Valley River and her many friends and family there. LOIS MERRILL FRASER Peacefully at home on August 20, 2004 at age 81. She will be cherished and missed by those in whose memories she will never die - her sister Laura Gardner; her four children Rick, Merrill, John and Nancy, their spouses Marie-Claire Michoud, Maria Yax and Colin Carson; as well as her nine grandchildren, Emily, Nicky, Russ, Sid, Amy, Sam, Niko, Lucas and Rebekah. She was predeceased by her brother Fred Sparling, his wife Ruth, brother-in-law Bill and her former husband Robert. Lois lived her life to the fullest - cherishing time spent loving and being loved by her family, delighting in her many friends, serving her community and travelling extensively. In addition to achieving a Master's degree in Social Work, she was a voracious reader, a gourmet cook, an amateur historian, a political pundit, a decipherer of mystery books, a home champion of Jeopardy, a solver of countless crossword puzzles and throughout, a model of grace, good manners, and proper grammar to her children and grandchildren. Her compassion and generous spirit were reflections of her strong faith which guided her daily life. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 24 at the Mount Royal United Church, Montreal. In lieu of flowers, donations to the ALS Society of Canada would be appreciated.

She leaves behind her companion and best friend of 35 years, Jim Stern; sisters, Flo Burdett of Oak Point, MB and Lily Jerome of Prince Albert, SK; brother, George Davis of Winnipeg, MB; sister-in-law, Carol (Wilson); brother-in-law, James (Dixie). Jeanne's husband John Robert Bruce Holmes passed away in 1963. She was also predeceased by two brothers, one sister and her parents, Herbert and Laura Davis of Winnipeg. Jeanne was born icon in St. Boniface, MB were she resided for 23 years. She attended Lord Selkirk, General Wolfe and Daniel McIntyre Schools. RICHARD HUMPHRYS B.A., F.S.A., F.C.I.A. passed away peacefully in his 87th year in the Ottawa General Hospital on August 21, 2004. Loving husband of 62 years of Wilma Kay Grant, dear brother of Edward (Ruth) of Ottawa, sister Barbara (Douglas) of Manotick and caring uncle of many nieces and nephews across Canada. He was born icon in Jasmin, SK March 27, 1917 and spent his boyhood years in Kelliher, SK. In 1937 he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba, joining the Great West Life Assurance Company in Winnipeg after graduation. In 1941, after completing his studies in actuarial science he moved to Ottawa with the Actuarial Branch of the Federal Department of Insurance, leaving in 1946 to join the Teachers Insurance & Annuity Association in New York. He returned to Ottawa in 1948 and spent the rest of his business career with the Department of Insurance becoming Superintendent in 1964 and retiring in 1982. During these years he was a founding member and first president of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and spent two terms as a member of the Board of Governors of the Society of Actuaries, being elected vice president in 1981. An avid sportsman he enjoyed tennis, swimming, skiing and was a longtime member of the Ottawa Hunt Club. A man of many interests he read widely and pursued a variety of interests particularly history, botany and music. The family will be pleased to meet friends at Hulse, Playfair & McGarry Central Chapel, 315 McLeod St., Ottawa, ON on Tuesday, August 24 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. By request there will be no funeral and in lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice. STEVE EDWARD JASLOWSKI July 26, 1928 - August 21, 2004 With great sadness we announce the passing of Steve Jaslowski, on August 21, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. Besides his loving wife Mary, he leaves to mourn a daughter Diane; son Mark (Diane); grandsons, Andrew and Matthew. He was predeceased by a daughter Cindy (1979); his parents, Phillip (1959) and Katherine (1976); brothers, Joe (2002) and Phillip (1989). Steve was born icon July 26, 1928 in Winnipeg before moving with his parents and brothers to farm at Bruno, SK and then to Selkirk, MB. After his marriage, Steve lived in Winnipeg. Steve worked for Manitoba Hydro and after his retirement he and Mary enjoyed travelling. Steve had a deep love for the land, farming throughout his life, until his illness. Over his lifetime, Steve was always active in the church; including having held positions of Chairman of the Parish Council and President of the Parochial Society. At present he belonged to the Knights of Columbus. For many years he called bingo at St. Joseph's Church Hall and at the CGS Hall. He was a blood donor with over 100 donations. Steve will be remembered as a man of deep faith, very honest, hard working and always ready to lend a hand. He was a natural jack of all trades being able to fix almost anything. The family would like to thank all who visited Steve in the hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Lezack, Dr. Finlayson and the Seven Oaks 5th floor unit 2 staff for their care and compassion. Left to mourn his passing, are his mother Annie Krivda, The Pas; brother Walter Krivda, The Pas; his wife of 18 years, Valerie Krivda of Sagkeeng First Nations; son Greg and wife Tammy Krivda and daughters, Lacey and Carlie of Yellowknife, NT; son Keith and wife Heather and their son Nicolas of Surrey, BC; son Marty and wife Terri Boice and their son Jordan of Clinton, UT; son Kevin and wife Amanda of Winnipeg, sons, Johnny, Vance, and Vernon; daughter Debbie Routhier and children, Cynthia, Shawn, Jeremy, Jessica, and Danielle of Brandon, MB; daughter Kim and boys, Sebastien, Eldon and Devon of Selkirk; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. He is also survived by his aunt Mary Hanke of The Pas, brothers-in-law and their wives, his mother and father-in-law, Russell and Lillian Henderson, as well as Valerie's siblings and their families. Arnold worked in various locations throughout his life all over the north and most recently, retiring from Tembec as an engineer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing his guitar. We would like to thank GD-6 and CancerCare Manitoba staff at GD-4 for the wonderful care and all the doctors involved in his care over the past two and one half years. A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, August 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the Notre Dame du Laus Roman Catholic Church, Powerview, MB with prayers beginning at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Fr. Jim Gray will preside. He will be fondly remembered for his patience, sense of humour, many artistic talents and his great love and devotion for his family. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Louis and Agnes St. Mars for their support and kindness during this difficult ordeal. The family also wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Szaky and the staff of the DeSalaberry District Health Centre. Cremation has taken place. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. followed by the funeral mass at 7:30 p.m. at the St. Malo Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lucien's memory to the Chalet Malouin. We will find comfort in knowing that he is finally free of pain.
