CYNTHIA BERGSTRESSER

October 18, 2004

CYNTHIA ANN BERGSTRESSER It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cynthia Ann Bergstresser. She passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on October 16, 2004. Cynthia was born icon on January 13, 1936 in King's Lynn, Norfolk England, the only child to John and Celia Gray. She attended the Catholic Girl's School in King's Lynn where she excelled in swimming and won many of the school's swimming awards. In 1956 Cynthia came to Canada on a one year work visa and lived with her longtime pen pal. After accepting Jesus Christ as her Saviour she decided to stay in Canada, and she then attended Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, AB to further her understanding of the Bible. On October 7, 1960 she married Eddie, to whom she has been married for 44 years. Cynthia is survived by her mother Celia in England; her husband Eddie; and her five children, Alison and Colin Harbinson and their children Bryce, Patrick, and Kaitlynd, Dean and Jeanette Bergstresser and their children, Rikki and Charles, Rachel and Art DeLeon and their children, Alyssa, Taylor, and Cullen, Mark Bergstresser, Sharon and Matt Weaver and their children, Maxwell and Joshua. Cynthia spent her life serving. She served her family, friends, and her Saviour with a passion that was a tremendous example to all who knew her. She served on many church boards, co-ordinated several different cancer care groups, and community and school action committees. Her greatest legacy comes in the steadfastness of her prayer life and the people she touched who were hurting and in need of a faithful friend and prayer warrior. The steady line of visitors to her hospital room was proof of the great impact she has made upon the people in her life. Her love and genuine care for others was a constant testimony of her love for her Lord. We would like to thank the staff of Morris General Hospital for their loving care of Cynthia. Thank you to Dr. A. Loewen and the wonderful nurses and aides who attended her with such love and compassion. Cynthia was a writer, and she had penned these few lines in her last days about the hospital staff; 'Angels Angels' On silent feet they come and go in night time watches caring, cooling comfortable to touch how blessed In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to World Vision, where Eddie and Cynthia have supported children for 41 years, or to the Morris General Hospital Palliative Care Program. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Morris. There will be viewing at Morris Funeral Home on Monday (today) from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and at the church prior to the service. MORRIS FUNERAL HOME 746-2451 Toll Free 1-866-746-2451
