STEVEN WAYNE "GRAMPS" GARNER

Mr. Garner, 39, a former Colorado Springs resident, died Jan. 11, 2001, in Tucson, Ariz., as a result of cancer. He was a college student and worked in construction.

Mr. Garner was born June 4, 1956, in Wieden, Germany, to Fred and Betty L. Garner. His father is deceased.

He is survived by his mother.

Services will be June 2, 2001, near the Chutes at Deckers.

CAROL LEE HUTCHISON

Carol, 54, died Jan. 24, 2001, in Colorado Springs.

Carol was born Jan. 25, 1946, in Minneapolis to Elmer Harvid and Lillian Bernice (Myklebust) Sironen, who are deceased.

She is survived by a daughter, Pam; a brother, Gordon; and a sister, Wendy Kaiser.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Circle Drive Baptist Church, 801 N. Circle Drive. Inurnment will be private. Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. U.S. Highway 85/87, Fountain, 390-4906, is handling arrangements.

GLEN W. JUSTUS

Mr. Justus, 89, died Jan. 29, 2001, at a local care center. He retired after 50 years of teaching at Palmer High School and Coronado High School. He served as staff sergeant in the Army Air Corps from 1939 to 1943.

Mr. Justus was born Jan. 25, 1912, in Spokane, Wash., to Walter and Ruth (Birdwell) Justus, who are deceased. He also had foster parents, Elof and Ellen Pierson, who are deceased. He was married Sept. 21, 1940, to Helen Mary Keeth, who is deceased.

He is survived by a son, James, of Colorado Springs; a daughter, Patricia Portman, of Millbrae, Calif.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Harley, Byron, Ray, Meryl, Gene and Gordon; and sister, Leona Price.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, 219 E. Bijou St. Burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver. Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608, is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Rocky Mountain Chapter, 2930 Austin Bluffs Parkway, Colorado Springs 80918.

LEVERNE H. (THORPE) BROMS

Mrs. Broms, 86, a former Colorado Springs resident, died Jan. 21, 2001, at a Bloomfield, N.J., care center as a result of pneumonia. She was a mother, housewife and an original member of the Colorado Bowling Hall of Fame.

Mrs. Broms was born Nov. 11, 1914, in Minneapolis, to Henry and Jenny Thorpe, who are deceased. She was married Dec. 24, 1939, to Kenneth A. Broms, who is deceased.

She is survived by a son, Peter A.; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey K.

O'Boyle Funeral Home, Bloomfield, (973) 748-1246, handled cremation. Mrs. Broms' remains are to be scattered in Colorado.

TASSILO "TASS" JOSEPH BILKA, M.D.

Dr. Bilka, 54, died Jan. 24, 2001, in El Paso County as a result of an airplane crash. He was a trauma physician at Platte Valley Hospital in Colorado Springs. He served in the Air Force.

Dr. Bilka was born June 3, 1946, in Berlin. He was married July 29, 1996, in Bailey, to Mary Louise Morgan Bergquist.

He is survived by his wife, of Peyton; two sons, Mark and Bradley; a daughter, Tashawna; two stepsons, Nicholas Bergquist and Joshua Bergquist; a stepdaughter, Abby Lolmaugh; his mother, Helga Perez; a brother, Tim; a sister, Anita Bojanowski; two stepbrothers, Manuel and Victor; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Perry Park Country Club, 7045 S. Perry Park Blvd., Larkspur. Andrews Caldwell Gibson Funeral Home, 407 Jerry St., Castle Rock, (303) 688-3191, is handling cremation.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tass Bilka, M.D. Memorial Fund in care of First Bank of Castle Rock, 120 S. Wilcox Street, Castle Rock 80104.

JASON ANTHONY MACIAS

Mr. Macias, 30, died Jan. 28, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He worked as a HVAC technician at a family owned business and served in the Air Force, retiring as a sergeant.

Mr. Macias was born March 28, 1970, in Denver, to Michael and Bernadette Lancy. His mother is deceased. He was married Dec. 31, 1997, to Cynthia Ann Cargile.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Sharon Rozhon; his father; a brother, Lucas; and a sister, Christina.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Cappadona's Family Center, 3133 N. El Paso St., 520-1817. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cappadona's Family Center.

ADDIE M. WANGERIN

Mrs. Wangerin, 92, died Jan. 28, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Wangerin was born Feb. 10, 1908, in Merriman, Neb., to John Andrew and Laura (Horner) Mosena, who are deceased. She was married Nov. 23, 1932, to Frebert Otto Wangerin, who is deceased.

She is survived by two daughters, Karna June Chadwick and Linda Kay Seracuse; a sister, Francis Rasmussen; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Grace Episcopal Church, 631 N. Tejon St. Inurnment will be at a later date at St. Timothy Episcopal Church, Littleton. Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, 601 N. Tejon St., Colorado Springs 80903.

HUGH AVERY JONES

Mr. Jones, 83, died Jan. 26, 2001, at a local care center. He was a jobber and distributor for Phillips Petroleum Co. and served in the Army from April 1, 1944, to Oct. 1, 1946.

Mr. Jones was born Oct. 3, 1917, in Craig to Lee H. and Mary Jones, who are deceased. He was married Sept. 2, 1938, to Margaret Tagert, who is deceased.

He is survived by two daughters, Julie Jones-Eddy, of Colorado Springs, and Marci Jones Macaluso, of South Salem, N.Y.; and two grandchildren, Mark Alan Eddy, of Norman, Okla., and Will Macaluso, of South Salem.

Private family services will be at a later date in Craig. Inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Craig. Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597, is handling arrangements.

MARIE L. (KOSTER) SAYLER

Mrs. Sayler, 80, died Jan. 27, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was formerly a school teacher and a homemaker.

Mrs. Sayler was born June 19, 1920, in Russell, N.D., to Otto and Anna (Zurcher) Koster, who are deceased. She was married June 8, 1947, to Arthur T. Sayler.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Rolin and Fred J. II; two daughters, Sheryl Sayler and Susanne Wickman; two brothers, Lloyd Koster and Richard Koster; four sisters, Gertrude Palmer, Hazel Romsos, Betty Hahn and Virginia Sayler; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sophie Hegdahl.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Presbyterian Church, 1529 N. Circle Drive. Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-7991, is handling arrangements.

CECILE EAKIN SMITH

Mrs. Smith, 98, died Jan. 28, 2001, at a local care center. She was a schoolteacher.

Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 25, 1902, in Eden, Miss., to John Wesley and Deda (Ashley) Eakin, who are deceased. She was married to Curruth Russell Smith, who is deceased.

She is survived by a son, C. Russell Jr.; a daughter, Shirley Cull; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be in Montgomery, Ala. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Montgomery. Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, is handling local arrangements.

ROBERT "BOB" K. WARD

Mr. Ward, 47, died Jan. 29, 2001, at a local hospital. He was an electronics technician.

Mr. Ward was born Feb. 13, 1953, in Detroit Lakes, Mich., to Linus P. Ward Sr. and Margaret Nelson. His father is deceased.

He is survived by his mother; a brother, L.P. Ward; and a sister, Margaret Sprouse. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Kent Ward.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Evergreen Funeral Home Chapel, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., 475-8303. A private family inurnment is planned.

JUNE DYSON

Mrs. Dyson, 66, died Jan. 25, 2001, at a local hospital. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Dyson was born Nov. 28, 1934, in Highlands, N.J., to Theodore and Alberta Winn, who are deceased. She was married July 14, 1953, to Curtis Dyson Jr.

She is survived by her husband; five daughters, Renay Reeves, Brenda Tuff, Stacy Dyson, Jacqueline Dyson and Rhonda Rogers; four brothers, Reginald Winn, Paul Winn, Theodore Winn and Russell Winn; a sister, Gloria Winn; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Angelus Funeral Directors, 2535 Airport Road, 391-1918. A funeral service will be at at 1 p.m. Friday at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 5485 Alegre Circle, Fountain.

Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

BERTHA CECELIA (ORTEGA) TRUJILLO

Mrs. Trujillo, 60, died Jan. 26, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was employed as a custodian at Goodwill Industries.

Mrs. Trujillo was born Nov. 22, 1940, in Garcia to Frutoso and Esther (Gonzalez) Ortega. Her father is deceased.

She is survived by three sons, Abel, Daniel (Shawnee) and Manuel; two daughters, Angelia (Ray) Turner and Connie Trujillo; her mother; three brothers, LeRoy Ortega, Pat Madrid and Steve Madrid; four sisters, Tomasita Pacheco, Agatha Hamilton, Lucy Arellano and Susie Sanchez; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. with a vigil at 6 p.m. today at Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph-Southgate, 1830 S. Corona Ave.

Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.
