ERMA BELL GADD

Mrs. Gadd, 89, died April 11, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Gadd was born March 6, 1912, in Rye, to William and Edna (Ellingwood) Hunter, who are deceased. She was married Sept. 6, 1936, to Milan W. Gadd, who is deceased.

She is survived by three sons, M. Wendell, David J. and Richard M.; a sister, DeNella Karcich; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wendell Hunter and Louis Hunter.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Crown Hill Cemetery, Lakewood. Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, 590-8922, is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Woodmen Valley Chapel, 477 Woodmen Road, Colorado Springs 80919.

SHARON SAHR

Mrs. Sahr, 60, a Woodland Park resident, died April 12, 2001, at a local care center. She was a middle- and high-school teacher for Harrison School District, Fort Carson Schools, St. Mary School and before that in Ohio.

Mrs. Sahr was born Dec. 22, 1940, in Denver, to Ernest and Marjorie (Hawkins) Habig. Her father is deceased. She was married March 20, 1992, to Stuart Sahr.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Kerri Ohmes, of Fountain and Jennifer Sutherland, of Vancouver, Wash.; her mother; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Church in the Wildwood, 10585 Ute Pass Ave., Green Mountain Falls. Mountain Memorial Services, 51 County Road 5, Divide, 687-0333, is handling cremation.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, in Sharon's name earmarked for ovarian cancer research, 1445 N. Union Blvd., B100, Colorado Springs 80909.

PATRICIA K. FRICK

Mrs. Frick, 81, died April 12, 2001, at a local care center. She retired as a secretary from Don Bates Insurance. She was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Mrs. Frick was born Jan 19, 1920, in Holly, to Maurice Emory and Hazel Irene (O'Brien) McCarty, who are deceased. She was married Jan 1949, to Emil Frick, who is deceased.

She is survived by a son, Robert Roblek of Colorado Springs; two daughters, Peggy Carnes of Elbert and Judy Ahlgren of Farmington, N.M.; two sisters, Georgia Coston of Las Cruces, N.M. and Margaret Barron of Colorado Springs; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, James McCarty, William McCarty and Timothy McCarty.

Visitations will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608, followed by a Rosary at Nolan Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Cathedral, 22 W. Kiowa St. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road.

PHYLLIS ROSE COOPER

Mrs. Cooper, 70, died April 11, 2001, in Colorado Springs after a long illness. She worked at Furr's Cafeteria for eight years.

Mrs. Cooper was born July 31, 1930, in Minneapolis, to Wiley Leroy and Rose (Olsen) Taylor, who are deceased. She was married Aug. 4, 1971, to Leonard Roy Cooper.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Lance Chommie of Minneapolis and Cory C. Cooper of Boulder; a daughter, Lynn Warner, of Minneapolis; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Lee Chommie; and a brother, Philip Taylor.

No services are planned. Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, 590-8922, is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army ARC, 505 S. Weber St., Colorado Springs 80903.

RETIRED STAFF SGT. GRANT BROOKS JR.

Staff Sgt. Brooks, 62, died April 5, 2001, of cardiac arrest at his home in Widefield. He was a civil service printing press operator and retired from the Army after 22 years of service.

Staff Sgt. Brooks was born April 16, 1938, in Paris, Ky., to Grant and Sallie (Franks) Brooks Sr., who are deceased. He was married Oct. 31, 1999, to Dianne Perryman.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Michael E. Haigler Jr. of Colorado Springs, Max B. Haigler of Kearney, Neb., and Matthew M. Haigler of Colorado Springs; a daughter, Melissa D. Haigler of Las Vegas; three foster sons, Lasief V. Swisher, Eugene Jones and Maurice Ledbetter, all of Colorado Springs; and three grandchildren, Michael E. Haigler III, Darius L. Haigler and Xavier S. Haigler, all of Colorado Springs.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Angelus Funeral Directors, 2535 Airport Road, 391-1918. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church, One S. Walnut St. A committal service, with full military honors, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., staging area B, Denver.

SHARON M. SALLEE

Miss Sharon, 55, died April 10, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a child-care professional for 35 years and missionary in Senegal, Africa.

Miss Sharon was born Aug. 15, 1945, in Tulsa, Okla., to Hansford J. and Carmen Wells Sallee. Her father is deceased.

She is survived by her mother; two sisters, Cheryl Faux and Carla Garcia; and two nieces, Sara Garcia and Gabrielle Garcia.

Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Blunt Mortuary, 2229 W. Colorado Ave., 634-8831. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Blunt Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Crystal Valley Cemetery, 502 Plainview Place, Manitou Springs.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, Colorado Affiliate, 2480 W. 26th Ave., Suite 120B, Denver 80211.

SARIA SHAYLYN MONROE

Saria, infant daughter of Tasha Monroe and John Barajas, was stillborn April 7, 2001, in Colorado Springs.

Saria is survived by her parents; a sister, Skyla Monroe-Barajas; her grandmother, Val Monroe; her grandfather, Sonny Barajas; and her uncle, Eli Monroe.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Memorial Gardens Chapel, 3825 Airport Road. Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-7991, is handling arrangements.

JAMES "JAY" OSTRANDER

Mr. Ostrander, 86, a former Colorado Springs resident, died March 7, 2001, in Grand Rapids, Mich. He was owner of Jay Advertising Co. He was a lifetime member of the Garden of the Gods Sertoma Club and director of St. Vincent DePaul Development Fund.

Mr. Ostrander was born Aug. 5, 1914, in Kansas City, Mo. He was married to Eileen Morgan.

He is survived by his wife and a brother, Hugh Ostrander, of Kansas City.

A memorial service was held in Kansas City. Internment was at Resurrection Cemetery, Grand Rapids. Arsulowicz Brothers Mortuary, Grand Rapids, (616) 458-1297, handled arrangements.

CATHERINE C. SCHMIDT

Mrs. Schmidt, 93, a former Colorado Springs resident, died April 8, 2001, in Warrenton, Va. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Schmidt was born Oct. 23, 1907, in Colorado Springs, to Hans and Ellen Nora (Corrigan) Hansen, who are deceased. She was married Oct. 25, 1926, to Maurice R. Schmidt, who is deceased.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary K. Gillis, of Warrenton; a son-in-law, Charles Gillis; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Thomas Hansen, William Hansen, Charley Hansen, Walter Hansen, George Hansen and Theodore Hansen; and two sisters, Mary Dewees and Ellen Berlin.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608. A rosary will be at 1:45 p.m. Monday with services at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral, 22 W. Kiowa St. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

MARY E. HUNEKE

Mrs. Huneke, 81, died April 11, 2001, at a local care center. She was a homemaker. She earned a bachelor's degree in sociology.

Mrs. Huneke was born June 8, 1919, in Kansas City, Mo., to Charles and Mary (Riley) Neff, who are deceased. She was married May 19, 1943, to Joseph Herbert Huneke, who is deceased.

She is survived by three sons, Joseph, Michael and Stephen; two daughters, Kathleen Antony and Charlene Ballard; two sons-in-law, Stephen Antony and James Ballard; two daughters-in-law, Sandra and Bonnie; three sisters, Sr. Marie Neff, B.V.M., Katherine Hashman and Margaret Driskell; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Ellen Huneke; two brothers, Charles Neff and John Neff; and a sister, Helen Theno.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608. A Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2318 N. Cascade Ave. Burial will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver.

BRUCE BORDELON

Mr. Bordelon, 51, died April 10, 2001, at his home in Colorado Springs. He worked for civil service and served in the Air Force for 26 years.

Mr. Bordelon was born Jan. 31, 1950, in Salt Lake City, to Joseph Bordelon and Shirley Reynolds. His father is deceased. He was married June 4, 1971, to Jana Rowley.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Keith; a daughter, Karen; his mother, Shirley Gererson; and a sister, Pam Smith.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday with services at 10 a.m. at Memorial Gardens Chapel, 3825 Airport Road. Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-7991, is handling arrangements.

RETIRED LT. COL. EDGAR FRANCIS "BEAR" BURCH III

Lt. Col. Burch, 63, a former Colorado Springs resident, died Dec. 27, 2000, when the plane in which he was a passenger, out of Juneau, Alaska, was lost in Young Bay. His career included Army Airborne (Jumpmaster), Ranger Qualified, Special Forces, assistant professor of Military Science at the University of Colorado and advisor to the National Guard. He served three tours in Vietnam and had commanded the 101st Airborne Rifle Company. He was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star with three valor devices, Purple Heart and other medals and accommodations. After his military career in 1980 he went into law enforcement: patrol officer for the city of Steamboat Springs, under sheriff Routt County, sheriff Routt County and undersheriff El Paso County. He retired in 1996.

Lt. Col. Burch was born March 2, 1937, in Richmond, Va., to Edgar F. and Helen Schulze Burch Jr., who are deceased. He was married to Belinda Sandoval.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Andrew, of Denver; a stepdaughter, Barbara DeBose, of Kansas City; a stepson, Ryan Slattery, of Holliman Air Force Base, New Mexico; two sisters, Helen Bennitt, of Fredricksburg, Texas and Elise Winchester, of Vero Beach, Fla.; a stepgrandson, Douglas DeBose; nieces; and a nephew. He was preceded in death by a son, Barrett.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. June 25 at Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia.

HARRY L. KEEHNE

Mr. Keehne, 69, died April 10, 2001, at his home in Colorado Springs. He was a kitchen designer. He served in the Army for 20 years, retiring as lieutenant colonel.

Mr. Keehne was born June 5, 1931, in Traverse City, Mich., to Harry S. and Mary Ann (Bohaboy) Keehne, who are deceased. He was married May 7, 1955, to A. Isabel Stocksdale.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Michael L., James R. and Jeffrey S.; a daughter, Susan Keehne Carr; a brother, James J.; two sisters, Marianne Howard and Helen Keeney; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Burial, with military honors, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road. A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at Grace Presbyterian Church, 2511 N. Logan Ave.

FRANCES M. LOETSCHER

Mrs. Loetscher, 92, died April 10, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Loetscher was born June 27, 1908, in North Little Rock, Ark., to Michael and Pauline (Inda) Wilkiewicz, who are deceased. She was married May 15, 1929, to Anthony J. Loetscher, who is deceased.

She is survived by two sons, James and William; a sister, Connie Depatie; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jeanette Coe; two brothers; and a sister.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. A rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Swan Law Cascade Chapel.
