JEANNETTE BRINSON BROWN

Mrs. Brown, 83, died April 2, 2001, at her home in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker and deacon at First Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Brown was born Feb. 6, 1918, in Red Rock, Okla., to Harvey E. and Pearl (Campbell) Brinson, who are deceased. She was married June 18, 1940, to Dr. Homer B. Brown.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Carlton Roy Brown and Byron Brinson Brown; a daughter, Carolyn Sue Jenkins; a son-in-law, David Jenkins; two daughters-in-law, Belinda and Rita; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, 219 E. Bijou St. Private graveside services will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

MAXINE L. WRIGHT

Mrs. Wright, 72, died April 2, 2001, at a local hospital. She was a housewife.

Mrs. Wright was born Aug. 20, 1928, in Yoder to Howard and Anna Howetter, who are deceased. She was married to Alexander S. Wright Jr., who is deceased.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry and Alex, both of Colorado Springs; three daughters, Rosemarie Jones of Colorado Springs, Leona Venes of Texas and Mary Bowman of Monument; a sister, Mildred Humphrey of Black Forest; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Gardens Chapel, 3825 Airport Road. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-7991, is handling arrangements.

DONALD J. DILLIE

Mr. Dillie, 80, died March 31, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was a self-employed commercial groundskeeper and served in the Army.

Mr. Dillie was born Jan. 16, 1921, in Colorado Springs to Samuel and Ocie Dillie, who are deceased. He was married Oct. 19, 1940, to Doris L. Battin.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Meldon L.; a daughter, Connie Goodhart; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial reception will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at 4960 Topaz Drive. Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-7991, is handling arrangements.

TED McKINZIE

Mr. McKinzie, 62, died April 2, 2001, at a local hospital. He was a truck driver.

Mr. McKinzie was born Oct. 27, 1938, in Atlanta to Willie Ostelle McKinzie and Virgie Mae Holcomb, who are deceased.

He is survived by a son, Tim; two daughters, Angela Kuegemann and Karen Bradford; a son-in-law, Robert Kuegemann; a daughter-in-law, Teresa; seven brothers; a sister; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. A private inurnment will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 1445 N. Union Blvd., Suite B100, Colorado Springs 80909.

TREVA F. (BECHTELHEIMER) HANDY died Nov. 21, 1999, in Colorado Springs. She was the retired owner-operator of Beryl's Jewelry Store.

Mrs. Handy was married Oct. 16, 1964, to John H. Handy.

She is survived by her husband; and a stepson, Patrick T.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road. Swan-Law Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the giver's choice.

ORVILLE L. ATKINS, 92, died Nov. 22, 1999, at a local care center. He was a retired carpenter and served in the Army in World War II.

Mr. Atkins was born Aug. 25, 1907, in Stratton. He was married July 5, 1935, to Eunice M. Morgan.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Robert R.; a daughter, Judy Hernandez; a sister, Ethel Kinney; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597, with services at 2 p.m. Entombment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.

GARL D. NEWBY, 71, died Nov. 20, 1999, in Colorado Springs. He was a sales representative for General Electric and served in the Air Force for 22 years, attaining the rank of senior master sergeant.

Mr. Newby was born Jan. 9, 1928, in Reserve, Kan. He was married Aug. 27, 1949, to Leota Michael.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Garl Michael, Keith Wayne and Dale Shawn; two daughters, Gail Zarkowski and Cathy Krupa; a brother, Stanley; and two grandchildren.

No services are planned. Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., 475-8303, is handling cremation.

ROBERT J. DUGAN, 49, died Nov. 21, 1999, at a local hospital. He was a civil service engineer at the Air Force Academy, and served in the Army and the Reserves.

Mr. Dugan was born Jan. 3, 1950, in Peru, N.Y. He was married in 1979 to Jennifer Cho.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Daniel J.; two daughters, Jessica A. and Virginia A.; his mother, Ernestine Dugan; and two sisters, Linda Forester and Susan Gello.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Air Force Academy Community Chapel. Burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3869 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver.

JULIE A. BARTON, 84, died Nov. 22, 1999, at her residence in Colorado Springs. She was a weapons designer for the Pentagon and a pianist.

Mrs. Barton was born Dec. 2, 1914, in Philadelphia. She was married June 19, 1934, to Harry C. Barton, who is deceased.

She is survived by a daughter, Judith E. Westcott; a brother, Joseph Morrissey; and a grandson.

Services will be at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at St. Raphael's Episcopal Church, 802 Leta Drive, Security. Entombment will be at St. Raphael's Episcopal Church. Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608, is handling arrangements.

ANNA PAULINE ACHE PETRE, 79, a former Colorado Springs resident for 42 years, died Nov. 21, 1999, in Tempe, Ariz. She was a dental assistant and business manager.

Mrs. Petre was born April 9, 1920, in Bethlehem, Pa.

She is survived by a son, Warren F. Ache; a stepdaughter, Sandra Petre; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., 475-8303. Graveside services will be at noon Friday at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

TWILA FAITH LOOP, 82, a resident of Rush, died Nov. 18, 1999, in Ashland, Kan. She was a retired teacher.

Mrs. Loop was born Sept. 23, 1917, in Corwin, Kan. She was married Jan. 11, 1951, to Robert Elton Loop.

She is survived by two step-daughters, Roberta Jo Magnuson and Dr. Roseann Loop; four stepgrandchildren; and a stepgreatgrandchild.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. today at Love Funeral Home Chapel, 225 F Ave., Limon.

LEONA E. MILLER died Nov. 17, 1999, in Colorado Springs. She was a retired doctor's assistant.

Mrs. Miller was married in November 1926 to Hugh A. Miller, who is deceased.

She is survived by two nieces, Barbara Kenney and Robin Cavendish.

ELWYN S. COLN, 75, died Nov. 22, 1999, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Coln was born Sept. 7, 1924, in Corinth, Miss. She was married Aug. 24, 1940, to Chester C. Coln, who is deceased.

She is survived by a son, Jimmy D.; a daughter, Sherri D. Jones; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Private services have been held. Inurnment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3869 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver. Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, handled cremation.

JOSEPH MINSTER, 89, died Nov. 22, 1999, in Colorado Springs. He was a retired pipe fitter.

Mr. Minster was born June 19, 1910, in Glasgow, Scotland. He was married June 30, 1935, to Miriam Cooperman.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Marsha Schwartz; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Burial will be at Sons of Israel Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.
