Aaron Michael Atchley
Aaron was born January 24, 1981 to Doreen Atchley Osborne in Boulder.
He graduated in 1998 from Centaurus High School in Lafayette. Aaron owned/worked in Scottsdale, AZ for Top Notch Transportation.
He is survived by his mother, Doreen; brother, James Osborne of Lafayette; his uncle, Ron Atchley, Sr. of Longmont; cousins, Cameron and Richard Atchley of Phoenix, AZ; aunt, Michelle Smith and Travis Smith of Albuquerque, NM and cousin, Jessica Smith of Boulder, CO.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jean Hester.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Darrell Howe Mortuary, 1701 W. South Boulder Rd., Lafayette at 11:00 a.m.

Elliott & Barbara Lewis, Hanover, NH
Elliott Lewis, 84, and Barbara Lewis, 82, of Hanover, NH, died Sunday, March 15, 2009 at their home.
Elliott was born May 15, 1924 in New York City, the son of Maurice & Lily (Fischer) Lewis. He was raised in New York City, graduating from DeWitt Clinton High School, then the Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and had been owner of Fischer and Company in New York City. He was a certified financial planner and registered representative for Advisory Group Equity Services of Reading, MA. Elliott enjoyed skiing and sailing, was a lifelong New York Giants fan and converted Boston Red Sox fan.
Barbara was born March 11, 1927 in New York City; the daughter of George & Fay (Pavell) Levine. She was raised in Queens, NY, graduating from Forest Hills High School, and Smith College. Barbara had first been a homemaker and then assistant to the curator of Primitive Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY for many years. A classical pianist, she enjoyed fine art, making quilts and afghans, listening to opera, and also been an interior designer.
Elliott and Barbara were married on June 5, 1949, and had lived in Manhasset, NY, Wilmington, VT, New York City, and Woodstock, VT before moving to Hanover, NH in 1998.
Survivors include their sons, Mark Lewis and his wife, Diane of Boulder, CO, and Spencer Lewis of Bethel Gilead, VT, daughters- in-law Beth McKinney of Montpelier, VT and Rose Loving of Tunbridge, VT; grandchildren, Stephen Lewis of Boulder, CO, Sage Lewis of Portland, ME, and Ariana Lewis of Bethel Gilead and Montpelier, VT; Barbara’s sister, Eleanor Zuckerman, PhD of San Francisco, CA; nieces, Laura Zuckerman of Oakland, CA and Lisa Gamshad of San Francisco, CA.

Trent Cole, Boulder, CO
“This is such an amazing disease and so appropriate for me to experience. I’m looking forward to learning all it has to offer.”
Few people would be able to say these words about a disease such as ALS, but Trent Cole lived up to this belief. He passed peacefully in the arms of his adored wife, Kathy Cole, early in the morning of March 14.
He lived his life with the intention of experiencing fully every nuance of the adventure. Whether difficult or not, Trent spent his energies on enjoying the process. He leaves us all with much more than he came to us with, for he brought into his endeavors his unique wit, sharp intellect, and insatiable desire to learn from life all it has to give and to become the better for it. He lived life as large as he could, but in his own quiet way.
He talked to each of us about the influences in his life - his beginnings in a one-room schoolhouse in Emerson, Iowa (being the only person in his grade for 7 years), and his appointment to all four military academies; he chose to attend West Point. Trent’s military career ended with a life-changing leg tumor that transitioned him to the University of Iowa where he met his first wife, Barbara.
From there he moved to Boulder with his family, now including 2 daughters. Trent met many of you while selling life insurance and developing his burgeoning real estate business. He was the consummate salesman, and his excitement about a particular project was contagious and ultimately successful. United Professional Management combines Trent’s spirit with his business acumen. In Boulder for more than 30 years, it will continue his legacy. Trent created a loyal team of employees that carry out daily the principals and integrity of his mission statement.
Trent loved to tell you how he met his second wife, Kathy, at her 40th birthday party. They bonded quickly, and (along with Aussie the Awesome Terrier) biked, travelled the world, snowshoed, played tennis, golfed, shared laughter with each of you, and eventually married. They regularly made the Vail Valley their weekend getaway and in 1992, their permanent home.
We got to share in Trent’s philanthropy as well. He insisted we be a part of it. Whether it was with Emergency Family Assistance Association or the women’s Safehouse in Boulder, the Asolo Theatre in Sarasota, Bravo and the Vilar Center in Vail, or sponsoring cleft palate surgery for a young Nicaraguan girl, we grew as he gave, right beside Trent. Children were his overriding passion; his most recent involvement being with Roundup River Ranch in the Vail Valley, a Paul Newman Hole-in-the-Wall Camp dedicated to providing free programs to children with life-threatening illnesses, and their families.
Perhaps the biggest influence of his life was his Higher Power. This special relationship gave Trent his ability to live his life true to himself, without fear that he wasn’t enough. He laid out his life’s course based on the AA principles of living honestly and living one day at a time.
Trent, 67, is the son of Frank and Frances Cole of Emerson, Iowa. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers Alan Cole and Terry Cole. He is survived by his soulmate, Kathy Cole; his daughters, Kim Cole of Lafayette, CO, and Bonnie Cole and her husband Dmitry Molotchev of Avon, CO; his sister Cindy Mabary of Littleton, CO; and his aunt Marjorie Gipe of Shenandoah, IA.
He is also survived by all of you - doctors, nurses, caregivers, employees, and many special friends. You provided him an incredible quality of life only few can imagine. He loved you all so much.

William Rice Bracken
1992 - 2008
William Bracken
On the 28th of December 2008, we lost an incredibly talented and loving son. William Rice Bracken was born on the 18th of May 1992 in Houston, Texas.
While too short in years, his life was full in spirit. He spent most waking hours devoted to his younger brother Hank and his inspiring art portfolio. Will was an avid reader, music fan and also loved to see (and then critique) movies with his family. Will had a passion for serving those less fortunate and enjoyed volunteering his time. We all miss his kind heart and witty conversation.
In Boulder, Will is survived by his fraternal grandmother, Barbara Bracken. His loving parents, Geoff and Shelley Bracken; his brother, Hank; his maternal grandparents, Lewis and Shelley Brazelton; his grandfather, Stuart Bracken; his aunts and uncles, David Bracken, Thomas Bracken, Lewis and Cindie Brazelton, West and Mary Brazelton, Fred and Jessica Brazelton, and Gary and Mary Swanson; and his twelve cousins also survive him.

The memorial service will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 3rd of January, at Grace Bible Church, 1111 West 14th Street in the Heights, where Pastor West Brazelton will officiate. Prior to the service, the family will have gathered for a private interment ceremony.
Immediately following the memorial service, the family will receive friends during a reception at venue to be announced in the printed service bulletin.

Christopher Paul McNamara
1948 - 2009
Christopher Paul McNamara was a peacemaker, teacher, role model, musician, friend, husband, father and so much more. He will be remembered for his gentle way, wisdom and wit.
Chris died Thursday, March 5, after a courageous battle against leukemia. He was 61. His family held him, prayed and sang with him shortly before he entered eternal life. During the long months of treatment he never lost his optimism or his sense of humor, and his profound love of family and friends deepened.
Chris was born Jan. 24, 1948, in Oyster Bay, N.Y., one of six siblings. He graduated from St. Dominic’s High School in Oyster Bay and received a full academic and athletic scholarship to attend Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree and played basketball and football.
It was during the time of the Vietnam War and Chris elected to join the U.S. Naval Reserve. Upon graduation he was stationed on the USS Ponce, and designated a “plankowner” as part of its first ever crew. The troop transport was stationed in the Mediterranean Sea.
After college and the Navy Chris got a job with Geico Insurance in New York and then San Francisco. In 1978 He moved to Lake Tahoe and there he met Christina King. They were married in 1979 and moved to Boulder County, Christina’s home, where Chris went to work in the King family business Boulder Appliance Company.
Chris had a number of professional roles during his life, but his real passion was teaching. Christina says it was a “calling” for him. He rode the bus to Denver after a long day’s work to attend classes at Metro State, where he received a BA in Math and his teaching certificate. In 1998 he received a Master’s Degree in Computers and Education from Leslie College in Denver.
He taught math to middle school students in the Adams County School District 50 for 20 years. It was a labor of love. At the beginning of every year he’d declare to Christina “This is toughest group I’ve ever had, ” and at year’s end he’d proclaim “This is the best group ever.” He made them capable and confident, and they returned the gift by renewing his faith in young people and the power of education.
Chris loved music and played guitar, mandolin and ukulele with gusto. He was the leader of the Praise Band at St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church, where he was an active member, and was a regular at several bluegrass open picks around Boulder County. He had a strong, true voice and when it was his turn to take a break he played energetically.
Chris leaves behind a large and loving family: Christina, his wife of 29 years; two sons, Kyle, 27, and Tyler, 24, and a daughter Paige, 18; his mother, Evelyn McNamara, who still lives in the family home in Oyster Bay; his brothers Thomas of Pasadena, CA., Mark of Merrick, N.Y., Steven of West Milford, N.J., Richard of Oyster Bay, and his sister, Barbara Gibson of Mohnton, Pa., plus devoted in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Chris’s family and friends will celebrate his life at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church, 4775 Cambridge Street, Boulder. The Rev. Mike Houlik, rector, will officiate. A potluck reception will follow.
Those who wish may contribute in Chris’s memory to the Christopher McNamara Family and Friends Fund at 1st Bank of Boulder, 6500 Lookout Road, Gunbarrel, 80301. Funds will go to an educational scholarship and mission trip fund.

Ann Claire Spruyt, Boulder, CO
Ann Claire Spruyt, age 78, a longtime member of the Buddhist community, died on Monday, February 23, at Boulder Community Hospital.
Ann was a serious ballet student in New York City in her early years. She has lived in Boulder for over 39 years. She was one of the original students of Trungpa Rinpoche when he first established the Shambhala Center in Boulder. Her failing health in later years has kept her from participation.
Survivors include her sister Betty Kronsky of New Mexico; cousins Evelyn Kronsky and Clinton Lee Bembry of New York; and her divorced husband Dirk Spruyt of the Netherlands.
Sukhavati Service will be held at the Shambala Center Thursday, February 26, at 4:30 PM. All are welcome.

Ann Louise Puldy, Boulder, CO
1961 - 2009
Ann Louise Puldy passed away on February 25, 2009. She was 47.
Born October 10, 1961, in Lincoln, Nebraska, Ann moved to Florida when she was 12 and attended Seminole High School in Seminole, Florida. Later, Ann attended Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, where she graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Economics.
Ann went to work for Martin Marietta in Orlando, Florida, before moving to Jacksonville, Florida, in 1987, where she worked for Barnett Banks. After the birth of her oldest son, Ann became a full time Mom. In 1996, Ann moved to Boulder, Colorado, and then to Tucson, Arizona in 2002.
In 2005, Ann returned to Boulder, Colorado.
Ann was a strong supporter of the Boulder County Lacrosse program working closely with the programs at Monarch High School and ICON Elite. Ann also served on the Board of Directors of the Superior Lacrosse Club. In addition, Ann participated with her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta, where she served as co-chair of the Social Committee. She was a devoted mother and was involved in Boulder Valley School District throughout her children's education. In Ann's spare time she supported the Cancer Society, the Boulder International Film Festival, plus various projects associated with the arts and childhood education.
Ann traveled frequently, and spent her summers at her lake home in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota.
Ann is survived by her husband of 21 years, Michael, her three sons, Zachary, Alexander, and Nathaniel, of Superior, Colorado, her father Fred M. Archerd of Clearwater, Florida, and her brothers Charles (Chuck) Archerd of Asheville, North Carolina, and Father Fred (Fritz) M. Archerd, Jr. of Tampa, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Jacqueline Becker Archerd.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sun. March 1, at 2:00 p.m. at the Boulder Theater, 2032 14th St., Boulder.

1959 - 2009
Paul Justin McCue of Superior, CO passed away on February 13, 2009 at home in his sleep.
He was born June 20, 1959 in Boston, MA to Francis McCue and Mary Carroll McCue. He graduated from Belmont High School in Belmont, MA in 1977, from Tufts University in 1981 and from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1991.
He spent his childhood summers in Rye Beach, New Hampshire and that remained a special place that he returned to every year of his life.
In 1989 he married Holly Sprenkle at Caneel Bay St. Johns USVI. They moved to Colorado in 1995 from Marina Del Rey, CA.
He was a journalist in Massachusetts and California before attending law school. He later worked for Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro in Los Angeles, Sherman & Howard in Denver and the Qwest Legal Department.
He loved the mountains of Colorado, playing golf with his buddies, running on the beach and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of almost 20 years, Holly Sprenkle, his daughter Julia McCue a sixth grader at Summit Middle School, his mother Mary McCue of Rye Beach, NH, brothers Thomas McCue of Berlin, NH and Steven McCue (Wendy York) of Albuquerque, NM, a sister Mary McCue (Daryl McGann) of Portsmouth, NH, his sister in law Linda Sprenkle Timmons (Paul) of North Richland Hills, TX, in laws Peter and June Sprenkle of Boulder, CO, two nephews and a niece.
A memorial service will be held on Friday February 20th at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church, 1237 Pine Street in downtown Boulder.

Dorothy Ann Corman, Boulder
Dorothy Ann Corman passed away in her sleep at the family home in Boulder on July 3, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Woodrow Wilson Corman who everyone called “Woody”.
She is survived by her seven children, Meg Corman-Hall of Santa Cruz, CA, Kristen Corman of Boston, MA, Ellen Corman of Boulder, Christopher Corman of Tucson, AZ, David Corman of Boulder, Pat Wright Jordan of Mount Vernon, WA and Jack Corman of Bangkok, Thailand and her five grandchildren, Olivia Hall, Ben Corman, Matthew Wight, Nathan Wight and Heather Wight-Axling.
A memorial service will be held at 10am on July 25th at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1417 Pine Street, Boulder, Colo.

Elizabeth & Christopher DiLeo, Boulder
Elizabeth Marguerite Schwarzenbach-Di Leo and Philip Christopher Di Leo died in Boulder on May 25, 2009.
Liz was a longtime Boulder resident who championed education, the environment, and the humane treatment of animals. She was born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1945 to Brigitte and Robert Schwarzenbach, the second of five children. In 1946 the family settled in South Norwalk, Connecticut and soon after began spending summers near Taos, New Mexico. In her youth, Liz was an avid swimmer, rider, tennis player, and skier.
A graduate of the Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, Connecticut, Liz secured a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Colorado in 1968, and a master’s degree in family therapy from the University of Northern Colorado in 1974. After college, Liz worked for many years as a therapist at the Malcolm X Mental Health Center (later known as Park East MHC), Boulder County Community Corrections, and in private practice.
Liz married Philip Frank Di Leo in 1984 and the couple was delighted by the birth of their son, Christopher in Boulder in 1986. Liz was a joyful mother. When Christopher was a toddler, she joined Our School, a parent-teacher cooperative pre-school with a progressive view of early childhood development. She was instrumental in securing a building, which housed the school for many years. Later, as a parent at Mountain Shadows Montessori School, she spearheaded the campaign to raise funds for a new building for dance, sports, and theater.
As a child Christopher was a precocious artist and filled their home with drawings, paintings, and pottery. He enjoyed acting, writing poetry and playing the piano. He was fun loving, made friends easily, and was often seen with a wide smile across his face. He loved sports, especially the NBA, and had an encyclopedic memory, which included accurate recall of every detail in his Sports Illustrated collection. He liked to ski and spent many winters with friends and family on the slopes of the Colorado mountains. Chris attended Boulder High School as a freshman and sophomore. He went on to graduate from Bridgton Academy in North Bridgton, Maine in 2005 and began classes at Colorado State University the same fall.
Both Chris and Liz were animal lovers, supported the Humane Society, and frequently took in abandoned pets. After Hurricane Katrina, Liz traveled to New Orleans to volunteer on an animal rescue and placement mission.
Liz was involved in Democratic Party politics and community affairs for many years. She was an active volunteer in Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. On a Texas excursion planned by the C.U. Student Democrats, the van for the trip had to be rented in her name since she was the only participant over 21. Recently, Liz led a community effort to create a small park on Bluff Street to curb the tide of development. Neighbors advocate naming the park in her honor. She also helped establish Lover’s Hill Park on Bluff Street.
Deputy Mayor Crystal Gray notes, “Liz was very special and very generous and I feel that people in the community need to know this.”
Unfortunately, mental illness was a constant feature of the Schwarzenbach-Di Leo household. Liz's husband suffered from a serious disorder and Christopher, too, was touched by the same illness. Liz worked for many years with mental health professionals to help and care for both of them. Her devotion, generosity, and kindness to her family were an inspiration to all that knew her. Tragically it was mental health issues that in the end led her husband to take his own and his family's lives.
Ms. Schwarzenbach is survived by her sisters Jessica of Boston and Sibyl of New York City, brother Peter, niece Hilary, and nephews Will and Eric Schwarzenbach of Marblehead, Mass., and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her cherished elder brother, Robert Christophe Schwarzenbach.
