Frank Arthur Anderson
Aug. 2, 1928 - Aug. 27, 2000

Frank Arthur Anderson of Longmont died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at Boulder Community Hospital. He was 72.

Born Aug. 2, 1928, in Akron, he was the son of Ethel F. Anderson and May A. Guilford Anderson. He married Winna A. Harbison on July 24, 1950, in Akron. She preceded him in death.

He worked for the Colorado Department of Education, Encyclopedia Britannica, Northern Board of Cooperative Services and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

Mr. Anderson attended the University of Northern Colorado and Stanford University. He served in the Navy for 10 years.

He lived in the Boulder and Longmont area for 30 years.

He enjoyed naval history, writing and quarter horses. He was the historian of the destroyer USS Thomas E. Fraser DM24.

Survivors include two daughters, Leslie L. Griffin of Colorado Springs and Kelly L. Anderson of Pueblo; and two sons, Jay G. Anderson and Reed A. Anderson, both of Longmont.

Private services will be held Thursday.

Rose Marie James
Aug. 1, 1921 - Aug. 27, 2000

Rose Marie James of Lafayette died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, in Boulder. She was 79.

The daughter of Pete Colbruno and Felicia Mongone Colbruno, she was born Aug. 1, 1921, in Lafayette. She married David Villalobos in Lafayette in 1938. He died. She married Albert James on Feb. 26, 1986, in Boulder.

She owned a pool hall in Lafayette and was retired from her job as a housekeeper at the University of Colorado.

Mrs. James enjoyed gardening, feeding birds and squirrels in her back yard and outings to Black Hawk.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Villalobos of Hawaii; a granddaughter; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sept. 8 at Immaculate Conception Church in Lafayette.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 9 at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boulder. A luncheon at the V.F.W. in Lafayette will follow.

Darrell Howe Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Ruth A. Biehl Laliberte
July 19, 1926 - Aug. 29, 2000

Ruth A. Biehl Laliberte of Niwot died of cancer Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, at home. She was 74.

Born July 19, 1926, in Niņagara Falls, N.Y., she was the daughter of Harold Biehl and Mildred M. Curtiss Biehl. She married Lewis Strain in Riviera Beach, Fla. They were divorced. She married Lucien Laliberte in September 1972 in Jupiter, Fla. He died in February 1977.

Mrs. Laliberte worked for Burdines department store in West Palm Beach, Fla., for 17 years. She moved to Niwot from Florida on Aug. 24, 2000.

Survivors include a son, Norman Biehl of Niwot and two grandchildren.

Private services were planned.

Nell T. Stokes
Dec. 17, 1897 - Aug. 12, 2000

Nell T. Stokes of Albuquerque, N.M., formerly of Boulder County, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, Albuquerque. She was 102.

The daughter of Joseph R. Tomlin and Nell Mulford Tomlin, she was born in Dec. 17, 1897, in Cincinnati. She married Robert L. Stokes on Sept. 16, 1916, in Cincinnati. He died in June 1962.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Stokes lived in Boulder County from 1948 to 1988.

She was active in the community and church events and was the first resident of Golden West Manor when it opened in 1965.

Survivors include four sons, Robert Stokes of Albuquerque, James Stokes of Hemet, Calif., Donald Stokes of Sun City, Ariz., and Roger Stokes of Lafayette; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marylyn J. Bruner.

Services are private.

Donald J. Wambach
Sept. 19, 1917 - Aug. 30, 2000

Donald J. Wambach of Lyons died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at his home. He was 82.

Born Sept. 19, 1917, in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of Peter Wambach and Anna Olson Wambach. He married Mary Dowd on Jan. 15, 1943, in Chicago.

Mr. Wambach served in the Navy from 1942 to 1945. He retired from Flick-Reedy Inc. of Bensenville, Ill., in 1982.

He moved to Boulder County in January 1986 from Park Ridge, Ill.

Mr. Wambach was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Park Ridge. He enjoyed golfing and bowling.

Survivors include his wife of Lyons; a son, Donald J. Wambach Jr. of Aurora; four daughters, Donna Metcalf of Jacksonville, Ill., Mary ann McCrary of Lake Forest, Ill., Elizabeth Jacobson of Boulder and Laura Hanson of Pleasant Prairie, Wisc.; a brother, Robert Wambach of Milwaukee, Wisc.; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon Wambach; and two sisters, Sylvia Marden and Katherine Wambach.

No local services are planned.

Eleanor M. Rick
June 16, 1909 - Sept. 7, 2000

Eleanor M. Rick of Boulder died of heart failure on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, in Boulder. She was 91.

She was born June 16, 1909, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Jacob Bolly and Mary Bollinger Bolly. She married Walter Kuenstner in 1932 in New York City. He died in 1969. She married Herman Rick in 1973 in Florida. He died in 1989.

Mrs. Rick was secretary and bookkeeper for her husband's florist business in Manhattan. She moved to Boulder from Florida in 1995.

She was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Boulder. She enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Survivors include a son, E. Paul Kuenstner, and a granddaughter, Molli E. Kuenstner, both of Boulder.

A service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 7077 Lookout Road, Gunbarrel, Boulder. A reception at the church will follow the service. Inurnment was at Green Mountain Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society, in care of Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder, CO 80301.

William McKinley Thompson
Sept. 9, 1926 - Sept. 6, 2000

William McKinley Thompson of Lafayette died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, in Lafayette. He was 73.

He was born Sept. 9, 1926, in Benham, Ky., to William McKinley Thompson and Irene Hill Thompson. He married Margaret Todd on June 8, 1946, in Harlan, Ky.

Mr. Thompson was a general contractor. He moved to Lafayette in 1997 from Lovettsville, Va.

He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife of Sterling, Va.; four sons, Thomas Thompson of Lafayette, William Thompson of Sterling, Va., Rusty Thompson of Rochester, N.Y., and David Thompson of Herdon, Va.; two daughters, Bonnie Williams of Lovettsville, Va., and Jackie Wood of Sophie, W.Va.; 33 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

A private family service will be at a later date.

Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are by Darrell Howe Mortuary of Lafayette.

James E. Wienczkowski
June 15, 1942 - Sept. 7, 2000

James E. Wienczkowski of Lafayette died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, in Lafayette. He was 58.

He was born June 15, 1942, in Chicago, Ill., to Edward F. Wienczkowski and Rosemary Jausly Wienczkowski.

He married Patricia McLachlan in Albuquerque, N.M., in 1960. They divorced. He married Susan K. Morse on Nov. 14, 1992, in Boulder.

Mr. Wienczkowski worked as a program manager for US West for 33 years. He retired in 1993. He later worked for Old Style Sausage in Louisville for seven years.

He enjoyed fly fishing, cooking, bird-watching, tennis and hiking. He was involved in numerous charitable organizations.

Survivors include his wife of Lafayette; his mother of Albuquerque; two sons, Steven Wienczkowski of Boulder and Ruben Martinez of Longmont; four daughters, Stephanie Graveson of Cambridge, New Zealand, Gwen Marino of Broomfield, Amy Allen of Durango, and Laura Martinez of Westminster; two sisters, Kathy Pounders of Broomfield and Elizabeth Martinez of Albuquerque; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Darrell Howe Mortuary, 1701 W. South Boulder Road, Lafayette.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6739 South Boulder Road, Boulder.

Contributions may be made to the University Hospital, attention: Dr. Rene Gonzalez, Melanoma Research Fund, 4701 E. 9th Ave., Box E190, Denver, CO 80262.

James Francis Dunkelberger
April 28, 1917 - Sept. 9, 2000

James Francis Dunkelberger of Louisville, and formerly of Boulder, died in Louisville on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000. He was 83.

The son of Henry Earl Dunkelberger and Mary Agnes Jane Fleming Dunkelberger, he was born on April 28, 1917, in Mound City, Mo. He married Mildred Lois Milne in August of 1939 in Platte City, Mo. She died on Sept. 2.

He graduated from high school.

He moved to Boulder from Loveland in 1960. He moved to Loveland from Mound City in 1955.

He was a member of United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters United States and Canada. He joined Local 192 in Cheyenne in 1956 and transferred to Local 575 in Boulder County in 1960. He became a retired member of Local 208 in Denver in 1998.

He enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

Survivors include two daughters, Gayle Ann Moschenross of Burbank, Calif., and Marilee Pepito of Crystal River, Fla.; two sons, Doug Dunkelberger of Broomfield and Gregg Dunkelberger of Burlington; two sisters, Mary Wilson of Mound City and Margaret Ray of Tariko, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Contributions may be made to Hospice of Boulder County, 2825 Marine St., Boulder, CO 80303.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder.

Inurnment will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
