Imogene F. Hinders, 81, of Sterling, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, in Sterling.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at First Presbyterian Church with services concluding at the church. Rev. Steven Schorr is officiating.
Mrs. Hinders was born July 3, 1920, to Jess and Phoebe (Titus) Hill in Titonka, Iowa.
On Aug. 28, 1944 she married Milton Hinders in Algona, Iowa.
Her passion was secretarial work. She worked at several insurance agencies from high school until moving to Fowler in 1971. In Fowle,r she and her husband owned and operated MC Automotive. They moved back to Algona in 1979.

Patricia Lissolo
Patricia Mae Lissolo, 58, of Crook, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2001, in Greeley.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at Crook Community Church with services concluding at the church. Rev. David Tyree will be the officiant. Burial will be at Gordon Cemetery in Gordon, Neb.
Mrs. Lissolo was born May 12, 1943, to Robert and Capitola (Grimes) Kelley in Imperial, Neb. Her family moved to Fort Morgan where she attended school, graduating from Fort Morgan High School in 1960.
On Sept. 2, 1962, she married Lester Lissolo in Fort Morgan. They made their home in Weldona.

Robert O’Connell

Robert Eugene O’Connell, a banker who brought innovation and expanded financial resources to Northeastern Colorado, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2001, of natural causes at his home West of Sterling. He was 81.
Born in Sterling on Jan. 7, 1920, to John Henry and Nelle (Chance) O’Connell. Mr. O’Connell lived here his entire life and was proud of the growth and development of the local region. He attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, graduating in June 1941, and then served in the U.S. Army as a captain in the 75th Field Artillery Battalion in Germany during World War II.
Bob and Charlotte Towne O’Connell were married at her parent’s home in Sterling in 1946.

Florence E. Simmons

Florence E. Simmons, 83, of Westminster, formerly of Sterling, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001 at Life Care Center in Westminster. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, at Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush. Burial will be at Brush Memorial Cemetery.

Wilfrid Burenheide

Wilfrid Burenheide, 86, of Sterling, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002, in Sterling of natural causes. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, April 5, with vigil and rosary service to follow at 7 p.m., at Tennant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Mickey Flaska officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Wilfrid was born Feb.. 12, 1916, to Henry John Burenheide and Elizabeth (Weinman) Burenheide in Olpe, Kan. He went to school in Maydale, Kansas.

Virginia Miller

Virginia Miller, 86, of Sterling, died Monday, May 6, 2002, in Sterling of natural causes. Private family services will take place on Friday in Denver. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park.

Virginia was born April 16, 1916, to Arthur and Dorothy (Oswald) Rudkin in Sparta, Wis. She attended school and graduated from Cuba City High School in Cuba City, Wis. She then attended Bayless Business College in Dubuque, Iowa.

Francisco Alva

Francisco Alva, 76, of Fort Morgan, and formerly of Sterling, died May 6, 2002, in Fort Morgan. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 8 at Tennant Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. May 9 at the Spanish Assembly of God Church in Sterling with Rev. Anita Leyva officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Mr. Alva was born Jan. 8, 1926, to Jacinto and Paulina (Galvan) Alva in Sombrerete, Zacatecas, Mexico.

Robert Wayne Crossland

Robert Wayne Crossland, 87, of Sterling, died Sunday, May 5, 2002, at the Sterling Regional MedCenter. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 10, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Mike Paulison officiating. Burial will be at Haxtun Cemetery.

Robert, third son of Edgar Wilkerson and Elisabeth Anne (Guernsey) Crossland, was born at Haxtun, CO.

Twilla Dick

Twilla Dick, 83, of Sterling, died June 27, 2002, in Brush. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 1, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. July 2, at the First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Orville Stewart officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Dick was born July 14, 1918, in Crook to George and Anna (Vath) McCracken. She grew up in Crook, graduating from Crook High School.

Wayne Thomas Hickerson

Wayne Thomas Hickerson, 51, of Milliken, died July 12, 2002, in Fort Collins. A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 3 at Windsor Park, South Pavilion, Locust Street in Windsor. There was cremation. Arrangements were made by Allnutt Funeral Service.

John Everett Spencer

John Everett Spencer, 88, of Sterling, died Oct. 14, 2002, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Oct. 17 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 18 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Khris Kennedy officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Catherine Zanders Blue

Catherine Zanders Blue, 82, of Denver and formerly of Sterling, died suddenly Thanksgiving evening. A memorial service will be held at Fort Logan Cemetary in Denver on Monday, Dec. 30 at 10:00 a.m. in staging area A.

Mrs. Blue was born in Glasgow, Scotland and raised in Dodge City, Kan.

Anna Gertner

Anna Gertner, 101, of Sterling, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with vigil and rosary to follow at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at Tennant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Baird officiating.

Lorraine Kloberdanz

Lorraine Kloberdanz, 73, of Fort Collins, died Jan. 29, 2003, in Fort Collins. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with rosary at 7 p.m., at Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Rd., Fort Collins. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 1 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 300 W. Mountain Ave., Fort Collins. The Rev. Dennis Ryan will officiate.

Edna Marie Anderson

Edna Marie Anderson, 85, of Wray, died March 21, 2003, at the Hillcrest Care Center. Funeral services were March 25 at Wray United Methodist Church with Revs. Bob Flier and Richard Pierson officiating. Burial followed at Glendale Cemetery in Vernon.

Mrs. Anderson was born April 14, 1917, in Huey, Ill.

Dennis Norman Hecht

Dennis Norman Hecht, 58, of Sterling, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, in Sterling. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 10 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 11 at First English Lutheran Church with Rev. Andrew Dimit officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Marceline Faye Lambert

Marceline Faye Lambert, 74, of Sterling, died Wednesday, April 9, 2003, in Sterling. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 11 at Tennant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12 at Tennant Funeral Home with Pastor Khris Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Mary Louis Quinn

Mary Louis Quinn, 85, of Fort Collins and formerly of Sterling, died July 31, 2003, in Fort Collins. Memorial services will be Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. at Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Rd., in Fort Collins, with Pastor Darren Fred officiating.

Mrs. Quinn was born Jan. 4, 1918, in Sterling to John and Nelle O’Connell

Edward K. Gerk

Edward K. Gerk, 74, of Brighton and formerly of Sterling, died Aug. 6, 2003. Visitation will be Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Archdiocese of Denver Mortuary. Mass of Christian burial will be Aug. 9 at 1 p.m., also at the mortuary. Services will conclude at the chapel.

Mr. Gerk worked as a pipefitter.

Mary Grooms, 99, of Greeley and formerly of Akron, died Dec. 1, 2003, in Greeley. Visitation is Dec. 6 and Dec. 7, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Brenner Funeral Home in Akron. Funeral services are Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Akron with Rev. Ramon Robledo officiating. Burial will follow at Akron Cemetery.

Ralph 'Gene' Pribble

Ralph "Gene" Pribble, 78, of Yuma, Ariz., and formerly of Akron, died Nov. 25, 2003, in Yuma. Memorial services are Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. at Brenner Funeral Home in Akron with Rev. Susan Spencer officiating. Inurnment will follow. Mr. Pribble was born Sept. 26, 1925, in Akron to Bert and Mable Pribble.

JoAnn Lynch

JoAnn Lynch, 69, of Centennial, died Dec. 1, 2003. Services will be today at 1 p.m. at the Newcomer Family Mortuary. 7277 W. Colfax Ave. in Lakewood. Burial will follow on Dec. 6 at 11 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.

Velma Marie Huffman

Velma Marie Huffman, 90, of Sterling, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, in Sterling. Visitation is today until 6 p.m. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services are Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church with Rev. Derek DeToni-Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Ray Pillard

Ray Pillard, of Paoli, died Feb. 12, 2004, at the Haxtun Hospital and Nursing Home. Funeral services are Feb. 17 at the Holyoke Community Church. Burial will follow at the Paoli Cemetery.

Arthur Tine Skaer

Arthur Tine Skaer, 88, of Loveland, died June 1, 2004, in Loveland. Visitation is June 6 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home in Fort Collins. Funeral services are June 7 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Loveland. Private family burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

Calvin D. Thomas

Calvin Thomas, 64, of Peetz, Colorado, died at home on June 7, 2004. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9 a.m. 8 p.m. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. June 12 at Peetz Community Methodist Church with Rev. Beverly Webb officiating. Cremation will be held following the service.

Elizabeth Mary "Bette" Batty, 84, died Thursday, June 10, 2004, in Sterling. A memorial service will be held at Prince of Peace Episcopal Church in Sterling at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 13.

Leatha Faye Hawkins

Leatha Faye Hawkins, 96, a longtime Peetz area resident, died at Memorial Health Center Extended Care in Sidney, Neb., on Thursday, June 10, 2004. Visitation is at Gehring and Son Funeral Home in Sidney, from 8 p.m. Sunday, June 13, and at noon on June 14. Funeral services are Monday, June 14 at 3 p.m.

LaVerne A. Maul-Elliott

LaVerne A. Maul-Elliott, 83, of Canby, Ore., and formerly of Sterling, died June 9, 2004. Visitation is June 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Gerk Funeral Home in Haxtun. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Holyoke Memorial Park.

Barbara Towne Brown, 86, died Friday, June 18, 2004 in Anacortes, Wash., with her family at her side. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 22, at La Conner Flats Gardens. Arrangements were handled by Evans Funeral Chapel, Anacortes, Wash.

Memorial services are 10:00 a.m., Aug. 6, at First Congregational Church of Eaton/Ault, 352 Second Street in Eaton. There was cremation. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Sterling.
