Mary Razatos Garnas
June 10, 1936 - February 5, 2004
OLATHE - Longtime Olathe resident, Mary Razatos Garnas, died Thursday, February 5, 2004, at her residence. She was 67.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, February 9th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 10th at the mortuary. Pastor Tommy Grimes will preside. Interment will follow at Olathe Cemetery.
Mary Razatos was born on June 10, 1936 in Denver, Colorado to the late James and Irene (Shope) Razatos. She spent her childhood in Denver and graduated from high school in Englewood, Colorado with the class of 1954. She moved to Olathe 35 years ago, having spent 25 years in Golden, Colorado prior to that.
On August 14, 1981, in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, Mary was united in marriage to Glen Garnas. He survives.
Mary was an entrepreneur in livestock operations. She was past president of the Colorado Pork Ranch Association, and the first woman president of any State Association. She was also a member of the Western Colorado Pork Producer’s Association. Besides ranching, she also enjoyed doing ceramics.
Survivors include her husband, Glen Garnas, of Olathe; one sister, Athena Buxman of Tucson, AZ; a step sister, Martha Baldon and husband Larry of Lakewood, CO; and a step brother, David Snoczyk and wife Lucy, also of Lakewood.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Colorado, 3151 S. Vaughn Way, Suite #505, Aurora, CO 80014.
Arrangements are under the direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.

Irmajo Ann McCoy
August 18, 1941 - February 4, 2004
Delta - Delta resident, Irmajo McCoy, passed away on February 4, 2004, at Delta County Memorial Hospital in Delta, Colorado. She was 62.
A visitation is planned from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta. A graveside funeral service is planned for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at Delta City Cemetery in Delta. James Gall will officiate.
Irmajo Ann Owen was born on August 18, 1941 in Cody, Wyoming. She spent her childhood and attended school in Cody, WY. Irmajo had been a resident of Denver, CO until she moved to Delta twelve years ago. Irmajo attended the Garnet Mesa Baptist Church in Delta. She loved embroidery work, yard sales, animals, and to take drives.
Those grateful to have shared in Irma’s life are her fiancé, Gary Clampitt of Delta, CO; a brother, Leonard Owen and his wife Linda of Billings, MT; and a sister, Dolores Messersmidt of Ogden, Utah.
Irma was preceded in death by her parents.

Vincent Leon Allbritten
February 3, 1949 - February 1, 2004
CEDAREDGE - Cedaredge resident, Vince L. Allbritten died Sunday, February 1, 2004 at University Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was 54.
Services will be at a later date.
Vincent Leon Allbritten was born on February 3, 1949, in Gary, Indiana to the late James and Jessie (Stephan) Allbritten. He spent his childhood in and graduated from high school at Gary, Indiana. He continued his education at Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Vince married Kristal Annette Kunkel on December 7, 1998 in Cedaredge, Colorado. She survives.
Vince moved to Cedaredge 16 years ago after having lived in Denver for several years. He was a retired truck driver. He served in the U.S. Army. His interests included riding four - wheelers, scuba diving, fishing and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Kristal Allbritten of Cedaredge; one son, Shawn Allbritten of Delta; two step - sons: Trevor Woolley and wife Stephanie of Fruita, CO and Benjamin Woolley and wife Trish of Cedaredge, CO; one step daughter, Amanda Burrow and husband Mark of Ft. Stewart, GA;. He is further survived by six grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.

Amelia “Lisa” Flanery
June 6, 1938 - February 1, 2004
DELTA - Delta resident, Amelia “Lisa” Falnery, died Sunday, February 1, 2004 at her residence. She was 65.
A rosary will be recited by Bill Herrera at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 5th at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 6th at 2:00 p.m., at the mortuary. Father Bill Nelson will preside. Inurnment will follow at Mesa View Cemetery in Delta.
Amelia Gomez was born June 6, 1938, in Delta, Colorado to the late Joe and Andrea (Valdez) Gomez. She spent her childhood and graduated from high school in Delta. She spent several years in Portland, Oregon before moving back to Delta in 1990.
Lisa had worked as a waitress. She attended St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Delta. Her interests included sewing, cooking, gardening and crafts.
Survivors include her husband, David Flanery of Delta; two sons: Pat Flanery of Delta and Phillip Flanery of Portland, OR; three sisters, Margarita Salazar and Hope Gomez both of Delta and Josie Diaz of New Mexico; two brothers: Richard Gomez of Delta and Danny Gomez of Grand Junction, CO. She is further survived by two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Alex Gomez.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, C/O Fredrica Morris, 14545 Hwy 65, Eckert, CO 81418.
Arrangements are under the direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.

Della Lawrence
June 4, 1904 - January 17, 2004
ECKERT - Della Lawrence, a resident of Eckert, died on Saturday, January 17, 2004, at Horizon’s Care Center in Eckert, Colorado. She was 99.
No services are planned at this time.
Mattie Della Wyrick was born on June 4, 1904, to William Blake and Christian (Greer) Wyrick in Portales, New Mexico. She spent her childhood in Arlie, Texas, and also attended school there. In 1976, she moved to Paonia, Colorado, coming from Wellington, Texas. She had made her home in Eckert, Colorado, since 1990.
Della married Jake F. Lawrence on January 3, 1925. He preceded her in death in June of 1972, in Wellington, Texas.
Mrs. Lawrence, a homemaker, loved crocheting and making afghans. Her greatest joy was giving them away. She attended the Methodist Church.
Those grateful to have shared in Della’s life include a daughter, Frances Guthrie and her husband Paul of Eckert, CO; two grandchildren: Pam Lay and her husband Bob of Montrose, CO, and Nick Guthrie of Delta, CO. She is further survived by three great - grandchildren and two great - great - grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jake; two brothers, and four sisters.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.

Rodney Quentin Jones
November 20, 1969 - January 15, 2004
DELTA - Delta resident, Rodney Jones, passed away at his home on January 15, 2004. He was 34.
A visitation for family and friends is planned from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 19, 2004, at the Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta, Colorado. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2004, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta. Interment will take place at Pea Green Cemetery in Pea Green, Colorado.
Rodney Quentin Jones was born on November 20, 1969, to LeRoy and Carolyn (Trimmer) Jones in Delta, Colorado. He spent his childhood in Delta and graduated from Delta High School in 1988.
On August 15, 1992, Rodney married the love of his life and best friend, Rhonda Lugard in Delta, Colorado. She survives.
Rodney was a member of the General Assembly Church of First Born in Delta. He was an employee of American Linen, a linen delivery service, for ten years. He enjoyed his route and all the friendships established by it. He was dedicated to doing his best.
Rodney enjoyed outdoor activities, and loved to go hunting and camping. He enjoyed seeing Colorado from atop his 4 - wheeler and the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Rodney loved to share this with his family. His pride and joy was spending time with his two boys, Rayden and Ashton. He loved remodeling his home. Rodney always wore a smile and whistled a tune while he worked. He never lost patience, even when things were going wrong. He loved to work hard, to get his hands dirty, to be in the middle of the job. He loved to laugh. Rodney could tell a story that brought out a chuckle from everyone.
Those grateful to have shared in Rodney’s life are his wife, Rhonda of Delta, CO; two sons: Rayden and Ashton Jones of Delta, CO; his mother, Carolyn Jones of Delta, CO; a sister, Diana Richards and her husband Kevin of Delta, CO; grandmother Viola Jones of Monte Vista, CO; step - grandmother, Nina Trimmer of Delta, CO; father - in - law, Larry Lugard and wife Sandra of Delta, CO; two brother - in –laws: Tony Lugard and wife Mechelle of Tryon, OK, and Curtis Lugard of Delta, CO. Rodney is further survived by six nieces and nephews: Megan, Dakoda, and Taylor Richards of Delta, CO, and Cade, Shayla, and Conner Lugard of Tryon, OK.
Rodney was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy Jones; and three nephews: David, Daniel, and Garrett Richards.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.

Margie L. Patterson
October 4, 1943 - January 13, 2004
OLATHE - Lifelong Naturita area resident, Margie L. Patterson, died on Tuesday, January 13, 2004, at the Delta County Memorial Hospital in Delta, Colorado. She was 60.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., on Sunday, January 18th, at the Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta, Colorado. A special prayer service will take place at 3:00 p.m., at the beginning of the visitation. A graveside funeral service will be held for Margie at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, January 19, 2004, at the Nucla Cemetery in Nucla, Colorado. Pastor Gary Chism will officiate.
Margie L. Mason was born on October 4, 1943, to Walter and Pearl (Davis) Mason in Uravan, Colorado. She spent her early childhood in the Naturita area and attended school in Longpark, Colorado. She had lived in Olathe, Colorado for the past two years.
On March 18, 1975, Margie married James L. Patterson in Dove Creek, Colorado. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1999, in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Her family was the joy of her life. She loved the great outdoors and hunting for arrowheads. She worked with ceramics and also enjoyed working in her yard.
Those grateful to have shared in Margie’s life include a son, Bobby Mason and wife Teresa Combs of Hawthorne, NV; two daughters: Karen Mason of Delta, CO, and Pearl Patterson and husband Adam Lynch of Olathe, CO; one brother, Walter Mason, Jr. of Delta, CO; and a sister, Faye Burgess of Stillwater, OK. She is further survived by one stepson; three stepdaughters; nine grandchildren; five great - grandchildren; and a cousin, Sandra Morgan and her husband Buster of Delta, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; a sister, MaryEllen Love; and a brother, Ray Mason.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.

Suzanne W. Peterson
February 16, 1924 - January 9, 2004
CEDAREDGE - Surface Creek area resident, Suzanne Peterson, a registered nurse, died on Friday, January 9, 2004, at Horizon’s Care Center in Eckert, Colorado. She was 79.
Memorial services for Suzanne will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2004, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Delta, Colorado. The Rev. John Muller, Jr. will officiate. Services will conclude at the church.
Suzanne W. Whitehouse was born on February 16, 1924, to the late James J. and Suzi (Gentry) Whitehouse in Princeton, Kentucky. She spent her childhood in Carlisle and graduated from High School in Angola, Indiana, in 1941. In 1945, she graduated from the Henry Ford Nursing School in Detroit, Michigan. This was the last graduating class that Henry Ford pinned. Suzanne moved to Grand Junction, Colorado in 1956, and then to Cedaredge in 1978.
On January 17, 1948, Suzanne married O. Wesley Wilson in Carlisle, Kentucky. He preceded her in death in 1974.
Suzanne married Liebert Peterson in 1972, at Moab, Utah. He preceded her in death in 1983.
Her interests included knitting and she was gifted in the art of doll making. She enjoyed traveling in the state of Colorado and her family was the joy of her life. She was very active in St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Delta where she attended and she was also a former Eastern Star.
Those grateful to have shared in Suzanne’s life include three sons: Gerald Wilson and his wife Tamara, and Wesley Wilson and his wife Nona all of Cedaredge, CO, and James Wilson and his wife Julie of Rock Springs, WY; four daughters: Sylvia Wilson and Coila Wilson both of Cedaredge, CO, Louise Wilson of Phoenix, AZ, and Susan Hatch of Rock Springs, WY. She is further survived by nine grandchildren and ten great - grandchildren.

James Gilbert Williams
July 18, 1927 - January 10, 2004
AUSTIN - Life time Austin area resident, James Gilbert Williams, died on Saturday, January 10, 2004, at his residence. He was 76.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2004, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Cedaredge, Colorado. Brother David Williams will officiate. Services will conclude at the Hall.
James Gilbert Williams was born on July 18, 1927, to Gilbert G. and Varra D. (Doyle) Williams in Grand Junction, Colorado. He spent his early childhood in Eckert, Colorado, and graduated from Cedaredge High School with the class of 1945. He went on to Mesa Junior College in Grand Junction, Colorado, and graduated in 1948.
James married Margaret L. Thomas on January 1, 1952, in Eckert, Colorado. They had just celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. She survives.
Mr. Williams worked as a draftsman/engineer for the Federal Government in Denver, Colorado, for eleven years. He then went to work for the Delta County Road and Bridge #2 and retired in 1989. He belonged to the Cedaredge Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses and was a former Boy Scout leader. James enjoyed the outdoors, reading, and crafts. He played several musical instruments and was a true family man. He enjoyed chatting with strangers and learning all he could about them.
Those grateful to have shared in James’ life include his wife, Margaret L. Williams of Austin, CO; two sons: James M. Williams of Grand Junction, CO, and David G. Williams and his wife Toya G. of Brooklyn, NY; three daughters: Delores E. Williams, Teelah R. Williams, and Allora E. Williams all of Austin, CO; and a sister, Peggy McNeil of Cory, CO.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Varra Williams; a sister, Betty Austin; and his step - mother, Florence Williams.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
