PAONIA - Alias Lee Coe died on Saturday, December 20, 2003, at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was 19 months old.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., on Monday, December 22nd, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Paonia, Colorado. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 23rd, at the Paonia Christian Fellowship Church in Paonia with James Gall officiating. Burial will follow at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Paonia.
Alias Lee Coe was born on May 20, 2002, to Justin Lee and Crystal Annette (Barnes) Coe in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Alias loved his little toy puppy that sang “You Are My Sunshine,” and his elephant that said a prayer. He loved his family and his brothers were very special to him.
Those grateful to have been a special part of Alias’ life include his parents, Justin and Crystal Coe; his two brothers: Colten and Dillion Coe of Paonia; maternal grandparents: Jamey and Loretha Barnes of Paonia; paternal grandparents Linda Coe and Marvin Stephens, of Eckert, CO; paternal great - grandmother: Marcella Stephens of Delta, CO; maternal great - grandparnets: Barbara and Bob Barnes of Bowie, CO; maternal great - great - grandparents: Erma Reynolds of Grand Junction, CO and Hazel Barnes of Paonia. Alias is further survived by several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.

Lydia M. Salazar
October 18, 1917 - December 20, 2003
DELTA - Long time Delta resident, Lydia M. Salazar, died on Saturday, December 20, 2003, at the Willow Tree Care Center in Delta, Colorado. She was 86.
A Vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 22nd at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2003, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta with Pastor Carroll Sluder officiating. Burial will follow at the Delta City Cemetery.
Lydia M. Ortega, the only child, born to the late Jubencio S. and Rosabel (Belarde) Ortega in Coyote, New Mexico, spent her childhood in Coyote and attended school in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She lived in New Mexico until 1956, when the family to Colorado and settled in Delta.
Lydia married Jose Manuel Salazar in November of 1933, in New Mexico. He preceded her in death in Delta in 1963.
Mrs. Salazar, a homemaker, enjoyed gardening, braiding rugs, embroidery work, and quilt making. A favorite pastime was reading her Bible, until recent years when her eyesight failed her. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the Spanish Assembly of God in Delta.
Those grateful to have shared in Lydia’s life include six daughters: Rose Lovato and her husband John of Grand Junction, CO, Lucy Martinez and her husband Orlando of New Mexico, Fito Vigil and her husband Frank, Fay Moralez and her husband Victor, Teresa Garcia and her husband Alfred, and Mary Moralez and her husband Nick all of Delta, CO; four sons: Raymond Salazar and his wife Corine of Grand Junction, CO, Benny Salazar and his wife Ruth of Thornton, CO, Walter Salazar and his wife Juanita of New Mexico, and Gene Salazar and his wife Lynne of Delta, CO. She is further survived by twenty - nine grandchildren; forty - five great - grandchildren; and four great - great - grandchildren; an aunt; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, Jose Manuel; a daughter, Mela and her husband Norman; and a granddaughter, Norma.
Memorial contributions may be made in Lydia’s memory to the Spanish Assembly of God, 860, Crawford Ave., Delta, CO 81416.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and crematory.

Evangeline U. Werth
May 11, 1921 - December 18, 2003
CRAWFORD - Delta County resident, Evangeline U. Werth, died on Thursday, December 18, 2003, at her home in Crawford, Colorado. She was 82.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 22, 2003, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Hotchkiss, Colorado. James Gall will officiate. Services will conclude at the church.
Evangeline U. Hunt was born on May 11, 1921, to Samuel Dewey and Verna (Shaw) Hunt in Weiser, Idaho. She spent her early childhood in Caldwell, Idaho, and attended school there. At the age of twenty - one, she moved to California. There she met and married her husband, William Matt Werth on March 26, 1947, in Glendale, California. They resided in California until moving to Delta County in 1992.
He survives.
Mrs. Werth, a homemaker, enjoyed camping, fishing, playing golf, and traveling with her husband. They spent their winters in Yuma, Arizona. She loved doing things with her children, grandchildren, and great - grandchildren. Her little dog, Holly, was an important part of her life.
Those grateful to have shared in Evangeline’s life include her husband of 56 years, William Werth of Crawford, CO; daughter, Marsha Werth of Crawford, CO; and daughter - in - law, Linda Werth of Bozeman, MT. She is further survived by seven grandchildren: Kenneth Mason of Oakley, CA, Jennifer Palecki, Chris Palecki and his wife Danielle, Vicki Beiriger and her husband Edward, all from Crawford, CO, Jon Palecki of Maryland Heights, MO, Shauna Werth of Bozeman, MT, and Matt Werth and his wife Jenny of Alexandria, VA; eight great - grandchildren: Nathan, Shauntell, Leah, Christa, Ryan, Alyssa, and Jacob all of Crawford, CO, and Sidney of Alexandria, VA; an numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Wayne Werth; one sister and one brother.
Memorial contributions may be made to the North Fork Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 127, Hotchkiss, CO 81419.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.

Henry Symanski
March 1, 1920 – December 17, 2003
CRAWFORD – Henry Symanski of Crawford, Colorado, passed away at his residence on December 17, 2003. He was 83 years old.
A memorial service is planned for Monday, December 22, 2003, at 10:30 am, at the Bible Baptist Church in Hotchkiss. Services will conclude at the church.
Henry Symanski was born in Superior, Colorado, on March 1, 1920. He spent his childhood years in Superior and Louisville, Colorado, and received his schooling in Superior.
On March 14, 1942, he married Mary Bell in Boulder, Colorado. His wife survives.
Henry and his family spent five years in Marshall, Colorado, and then lived in Eldorado Springs for forty years. Henry was a heavy equipment operator for the Denver Water Board. He was a volunteer fireman in Eldorado Springs for several years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, auctions, and was an aspiring airplane pilot. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
The Symanski’s moved to Crawford in 1987.
Those grateful to have shared in Mr. Symanski’s life include his wife of 61 years, Mary; two daughters and their husbands: Judy and Jack Lewis of Walden, Colo., and Sue and Kyle Keele of Crawford, Colo. He is further survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, and one sister.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.

Pauline J. Martin - Bauman
September 3, 1923 - December 15, 2003
GRAND JUNCTION - Grand Junction resident, Pauline J. Martin - Bauman died Monday, December 15, 2003, at her home. She was 80.
A funeral service is planned for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 18th at the Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Paonia. James Gall will preside. Interment will take place at Bethlehem Cemetery in Paonia.
Pauline J. Barry was born September 3, 1923, in Pueblo, Colorado, to the late George and Dora (Eggy) Barry. Pauline spent her childhood in Paonia and graduated from the Stewart Mesa school.
Pauline married Kenneth M. Martin on November 2, 1944. He preceded her in death on October 30, 1961, in California.
Pauline had belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles as well as the V.F.W. She had resided in Grand Junction for the past 19 years. Among her hobbies and interests was reading. For about 18 months she served as a “meeter and greeter” at Wal - Mart.
Survivors grateful to have shared in Pauline’s life include a son, Ken Martin and his wife Nancy of Montrose; a daughter, Jerri Rozman and her husband Ed of Grand Junction; as well as three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three nieces, and five nephews.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Kenneth. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.

Julio Rodriguez
May 11, 1933 - December 14, 2003
DELTA - Lifetime Delta resident, Julio Rodriguez, died Sunday, December 14, 2003 at his residence. He was 70.
Services for Mr. Rodriguez will be held at a later time.
Julio Rodriguez was born on May 11, 1933 in Delta, Colorado to the late Pete and Alcadia Rodriguez. He spent his childhood and attended school in Delta.
In 1964, Julio married Rose Maestas in Montrose, Colorado. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Rodriguez was retired from Skyland Foods in Delta after 23 years of service. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Delta. He enjoyed doing working in his yard..
Survivors include three sons: Pete Rodriguez and his wife Suzie and Patrick Rodriguez, all of Delta, Victor Rodriguez of Canon City, CO; a daughter, Patricia Rodriguez - Jones and husband Don of Platteville, CO; a step - son, Cliff Lucero of Palisade, CO and a step - daughter Agnes Loya and husband Abel of Florence, CO. Mr. Rodriguez is further survived by six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Along with his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Gay.
Arrangements are under the care of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.

Michael Leroy Sauer
September 27, 1943 - December 12, 2003
Cedaredge - Michael Sauer of Cedaredge, passed away on December 12, 2003 at University Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was 60.
A funeral service for Michael is planned for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 20, 20003 at the First Baptist Church in Cedaredge with Pastor Dik Abbott officiating. A public visitation is planned for 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2003 at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Cedaredge, Colorado.
Michael Leroy Sauer was born on September 27, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Elmer and Grace Marie (Orth) Sauer. He spent his childhood in Baltimore and graduated from Patterson High School in 1961.
Michael married the love of his life, Lynda Nutter on October 20, 1966 in Baltimore, Maryland. Michael and his family were residents of Castle Rock, Colorado for twenty years, before moving to Cedaredge three years ago. Prior to Castle Rock they had been residents of Edgewood, Maryland.
Mr. Sauer was a machinist at Welfelt Welding, a steel fabrication business for three years. He attended the First Baptist Church in Cedaredge. Michael enjoyed fishing, gardening and working with his hands, but most of all he was a true family man.
Those grateful to have shared in Michael’s life are his wife, Lynda of Cedaredge, CO; two sons, Jason Sauer and wife Alisa of Johnstown, CO; and Adam Sauer of Cedaredge, CO; six daughters, Traci Olds of Parker, CO; Jenifer Sauer of Denver, CO; Dawn Rumbold and husband J.D. of Elbert, CO; Amy Pinzenschum and husband Jimmy of Denver, CO; Hillary Sauer and Heather Sauer both of Littleton, CO; two sisters, Hilda Parsons of Dundock, MD; and Grace Hollowell and husband George of Austin, TX. Michael is further survived by ten grandchildren.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ruth Zamenski, and two brothers, Francis and Elmer Sauer.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O.Box 400, Cedaredge, CO 81413 or to the New Hope Presbyterian Church, 2100 W. Meadows Parkway, Castlerock, CO 80109.

Jessie Moralez
March 16, 1920 - December 14, 2003
DELTA - Lifetime Delta resident, Jessie E. Moralez, died Sunday, December 14, 2003, at her residence. She was 83.
Visitation for family and friends is planned for Monday, December 15th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 16th at the funeral home. Pastor Carroll Sluder will preside. The eulogy will be said by Crystal Armendariz and Gale Armendariz. Burial will follow at Mesa View Cemetery in Delta.
Jessie Ediverta Navarette was born on March 16, 1920 in Juarez, Mexico to the late Juan and Juanita Navarette. They moved to Delta when Jessie was four years old. She attended school in Delta County.
On June 4, 1937, in Delta, Jessie married Joe B. Moralez. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2001 in Delta.
Jessie was a member of the Spanish Assembly of God in Delta. She enjoyed attending church and reading the Bible. She also enjoyed doing crafts, cooking, and especially loved family gatherings.
Survivors include five sons and their spouses, Joe and Erma Moralez, Vic and Faye Moralez, Nick and Mary Moralez and Johnny and Marla Moralez, all of Delta; Theodore and Irene Moralez of Craig, CO; three daughters: Comedina Armendariz and husband Gig of Montrose, CO; Erma Bloom of Delta and Genevieve Ramirez and husband Jose of Santa Ana, CA; and a step - son and his wife, Jimmy and Virginia Moralez of Ontario, CA. Jessie is further survived by 36 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren and two great - great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Johnny Moralez; a daughter, Louise Moralez; three sisters: Lydia Ramos, Socorro Carrillo and Juanita Mejias.
Arrangements are under the direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.

Patrick Oren Orr
June 5 1950 - December 11, 2003
CEDAREDGE - Surface Creek area resident, Patrick Orr, died on Thursday, December 11, 2003, at the Delta County Memorial Hospital, Delta, Colorado. He was 53.
A memorial service for Mr. Orr will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2003 at the Cedaredge Assembly of God in Cedaredge, Colorado with Pastor Bob Hillyer officiating. Services will conclude at the church.
Patrick Oren Orr was born on June 5, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio to Oren and Maxine (Minturn) Orr. He graduated from California State University in Hayward, CA. He had been a resident of Cedaredge for the past ten years. Patrick enjoyed fishing, photography and art.
Those grateful to have shared in Patrick’s life are his mother, Maxine Orr of Diamond Springs, CA, two sons, Shawn and Christopher Orr both of Sacramento, CA; one daughter, Heather Orr of Sacramento, CA; three brothers, Terry Orr of Sunnyvale, CA; Anthony Orr of Sacramento, CA; and Timothy Orr of Placerville, CA; one sister, Cynthia Evans of Susanville, CA. He is further survived by five nieces and nephews and five great nieces and nephews.
Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Oren Orr.
