Jerry Carr 1958 - 2006

Jerry Allen Carr, formerly of Paonia, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, in Denver. He was 48.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Carr was born Jan. 18, 1958, in Denver, to Norman E. and Patricia Marie (Drumright) Carr. He spent his childhood in Albuquerque, N.M., and Paonia. He graduated from Delta High School in 1976.

He was a farm laborer. He enjoyed music and the outdoors.

Mr. Carr is survived by his parents, Norman and Patricia Carr of Paonia; two brothers and their wives, Norman E. and Martha Carr Jr. of Winnemucca, Nev., and David and Robin Carr of Boulder, Mont.; and a sister and her husband, Regina and Ross Bowerman of Grand Junction.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Christopher S. Carr.

Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory handled the arrangements.

Caleb Casebier 1911 - 2006

Caleb Calvin Casebier of Olathe died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Colorow Care Center in Olathe. He was 95.

A funeral service was held April 24 at Pea Green Community Center with Dan Casebier officiating. Burial followed at Pea Green Cemetery.

Mr. Casebier was born March 24, 1911, near Grand, Okla., to James Edward and Vinnie Lyla (Smith) Casebier. When he was one he and his family moved to the Delta/Montrose area. He attended school in Pea Green and Delta, and later attended Western State College.

He married Helen May Haptonstall on July 12, 1935, in Delta. She preceded him in death.

Mr. Casebier was a retired author and farmer. Some of his titles included, “Twenty Sleeps West” and “Yucca Seed.” He was a Bible student, historian and pioneer. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, the outdoors, and story telling.

He is survived by three sons, Richard E. Casebier of Delta, Douglas L. Casebier and his wife Kally of Montrose, and Daniel W. Casebier and his wife Carol of Austin, Texas; a daughter and her husband, Janyce and Jim Harmon of Durango; a sister, Lola Austin of Olathe; 13 grandchildren; and 31 great - grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pea Green Community Club, c/o Wanda Boyd, 3680 Cedar Road, Delta 81416.

Betty Lou Daniels 1951 - 2006

Betty Lou Daniels of Hotchkiss, precious wife and beloved mother, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April 22, 2006.

A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at the Mountain View Bible Church in Lazear, Colo., with Pastor Jim Jesser officiating. Services will conclude at the church.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Danny from Hotchkiss; and her children, Darek from Loveland, Chad from Loveland, and Sarah Starwalt from Grand Junction. She is survived by her father, Dale Hiatt from Montrose; one sister, Donna Greer from Montrose; and two brothers, Dale Hiatt Jr. from Colorado Springs, and Dean Hiatt from Montana.

Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Lou Hiatt; and her sister, Carol.

Betty loved her family and enjoyed outings with them. She loved the outdoors, her dogs and cats, and her home and yard. When her children got in school she began working. She cleaned houses, was employed by Delta Correctional Facility, Chaco Sandals and Bowie Coal Mine. Betty was an inspiration to everyone she knew. Her humor and love was contagious. She never complained about anything. She loved God and her faith in Jesus was evident by how she lived her life.

Paul Fuller 1915 - 2006

Paul Franklin Fuller of Austin died Saturday, April 22, 2006, at Delta County Memorial Hospital. He was 91.

Mr. Fuller was born March 26, 1915, in Haakon County, S.D., to Charles and Mary Bennett Fuller.

He served in the Air Force during World War II in Italy. He was a radio man and waist gunner on a BE - 24.

Mr. Fuller married Catherine Charnel on June 30, 1939, in Hayward, Calif. She survives.

He worked for Gerber Foods as an electrician. He lived in Hayward, Calif., and returned to Austin when he retired in 1978 and worked for Eckert Electric for five years. He was a member of Valley Fellowship in Austin. He was a ham radio operator. He enjoyed dogs, horses and music and played the trombone and harmonica.

Mr. Fuller is survived by his wife, Catherine Fuller of Austin; a son and his wife, Richard and Linda Fuller of Delta; a daughter and her husband, Jeanette and David Neil of Austin; two brothers and their wives, Ardo and Doris Fuller of Castro Valley, Calif., and Art and Sharon Fuller of Austin; five grandchildren; and two great - grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

A funeral service was held April 25 at Mesa View Mortuary Chapel with Frank St. Peter officiating. Burial followed at Eckert Cemetery.

Randy Hodges 1947 - 2006

Randy Hodges of Cedaredge died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at Veterans Medical Center in Grand Junction. He was 59.

Mr. Hodges was born Jan. 27, 1947, in Longmont, to Merle and Marjorie (Smith) Hodges. He graduated from Paonia High School in 1964. He then moved to Cedaredge where he remained.

He served in the Navy during the Vietnam era, attaining the rank of Ensign 3.

Mr. Hodges was a truck driver for Swift & Company. He was a member of Grand Junction First Assembly of God.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Merle and Velma Hodges of Cedaredge; two brothers and their wives, Steve and Vickie Hodges, and Tim and Linda Hodges, all of Hotchkiss; three nieces, Aimee Hodges, Marci Hodges and Kylie Hodges, all of Hotchkiss; a nephew, Mark Hodges of Hotchkiss; and a special friend, Chris Hutchinson of Cedaredge.

Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Hodges.

A graveside service was held April 24 at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado in Grand Junction.

Jennie Pavlisick 1927 - 2007

Jennie Pavlisick of Paonia died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at Paonia Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was 92.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Paonia. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10 a.m. with Father Bill Nelson officiating.

Mrs. Pavlisick was born Dec. 28, 1914, in Somerset, to John and Mary (Urbancic) Delost. She spent her childhood and attended school in Somerset.

She married Martin Pavlisick on Aug. 26, 1933, in Paonia. They celebrated 66 years of marriage. He died April 15, 1999, in Paonia.

Mrs. Pavlisick was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, her family and being in the kitchen band. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, the Emblem Club of Hotchkiss, Good Sams Club and the Kitchen Band.

She is survived by two sons and their wives, Ken and Rena Pavlisick, and Marvin and Carol Ann Pavlisick, all of Paonia; a daughter and her husband, Carolyn and Tom McKee of Palisade; two brothers and their wives, Frank and Nelda Delost of Bountiful, Utah, and Bert and Edith Delost of Montrose; a sister Mary Pavlisick of Grand Junction; seven grandchildren; 14 great - grandchildren; and two step great - grandchildren.

Mrs. Pavlisick was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Pavlisick; and two brothers, Victor Delost and Joe Delost.

Aurora Burnell 1909 - 2005

Aurora Burnell of Delta died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, at Willow Tree Care Center in Delta. She was 96.

Glenn Fuller 1916 - 2005

Glenn Edward Fuller of Eckert died Monday, Nov. 21, 2005, at his home. He was 89.

Jack Linkletter 1926 - 2005

Jack Linkletter of Delta died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, at Paonia Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was 79.

Ann Scheetz 1908 - 2005

Ann Mary Scheetz of Fort Collins, formerly of Delta, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at Columbine Care Center East in Fort Collins. She was 96.

Lillie Stabeno 1917 - 2005

Lillie Stabeno of Elgin, Texas, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005. She was 88.

Sharon Kay Armstrong of Henderson, Nev., formerly of Delta, died following a brief illness on Nov. 26, 2005, at her home.

Jerrold Findley 1927 - 2005

Jerrold Daniel Findley of Delta died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at Delta County Memorial Hospital. He was 77.

Winston Hollard Jr.

Winston L. Hollard Jr. of Delta died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, at his home. He was 70.

Brittney Hudson 1988 - 2005

Brittney K. Hudson of Delta died as the result of a car accident Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005, at Delta County Memorial Hospital. She was 17.

Iris Mangnall 1926 - 2005

Iris C. Mangnall of Cory, formerly of Glenwood Springs, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at Sunrise Homes Assisted Living in Delta. She was 79.

Emogene Massingill 1925 - 2005

Emogene Massingill of Delta died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, at Willow Tree Care Center in Delta. She was 80.
