DeMANN, Scott Anthony Holdraker

Aug. 21, 1968 - Nov. 13, 2000

Scott Anthony Holdraker DeMann of Longmont died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, after a lengthy illness in St. Cloud, Minn. He was 32.

Mr. DeMann was born Aug. 21, 1968, in Colorado Springs to Frank and Susan (Patrick) Holdraker.

In 1991, he moved to Longmont, where he attended the First Baptist Church on Kimbark Street.

As owner of Rustic Designs, Mr. DeMann traveled to many places in his trade as a tile setter. He worked in Arizona, California, Colorado, Texas and Minnesota.

Through his travels, he made many lifelong friends.

Mr. DeMann loved the outdoors and took full advantage of it. Colorado was his favorite place because it offered so much. He excelled in hunting, fishing and cooking.

He was active as a volunteer in UFFDA, a foundation for disabled bow hunters, and was a member of Ducks Unlimited. He was also active with Capable Companions, a group that works with disabled hunters.

Other activities in which he participated included boating, golfing and skiing. He played volleyball and softball in the church league.

Mr. DeMann was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ernie DeMann.

He is survived by his life partner, Bobbie Ellington and her daughter Nicole; his parents, Lenny and Susan DeMann of Chandler, Ariz.; his father, Frank Holdraker of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a brother, Tim Sullinger and his wife Beverly and their children Sydney, Keegan and Jeffrey Todd of Williamsport, Pa.; a sister, Brandy DeMann of Mesa, Ariz.; his grandparents, Kenneth and Dorothy Patrick of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and Dorothy DeMann of Minnesota; his uncles and aunts, Denny Krueger of Plymouth, Minn., and Clarrise Krueger of Minnesota and their children, Dr. Jim Weatherill and his wife Beverly of Littleton and their three children, their spouses and their five grandchildren; and numerous friends.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service is planned in Colorado for Spring 2001, with the Rev. Gary Bowser presiding.

ELMARR, Robert E. 'Gene'

June 22, 1926 - Nov. 24, 2000

Robert E. "Gene" Elmarr of Longmont died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at his home. He was 74.

He was born June 22, 1926, in Denver to Robert Edgar and Bessie V. (Keitchiud) Elmer.

He married Catherine M. Marsolf on Sept. 13, 1952 in Hunter, Okla. She preceded him in death in 1992.

He was a resident of Longmont since 1982, and a former resident of Boulder and Cheyenne, Wyo.

He was a master chef, and retired from Pioneer Pies and Restaurant of Longmont. He worked there from 1982 to September of this year.

He was trained in the military in culinary arts.

He was a member of the Methodist church and enjoyed bowling and dancing.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He is survived by a son, Kevin Elmarr of Longmont; four daughters, Patricia Rowley of Longmont, Darlena C. Almond of Longmont, Tahnya Haney of Berthoud and Lucy Pearman of Longmont; 19 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 3 p.m. at the First Free United Methodist Church, at 1601 S. Pratt Parkway with the Rev. Gene Poole officiating.

Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Boulder County Unit Office, at 1250 S. Hover Road, Suite F-2 or to the Hospice of Boulder County Longmont Branch at 1510 Ninth St.

Charlene Klos

Dec. 13, 1907 - Nov. 13, 2000

Charlene Klos of Longmont died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at Life Care Center in Longmont. She was 92.

She was born Dec. 13, 1907, in Kansas City, Mo., to Sidney and Lulu (McKenzie) Higman.

She received her bachelor of arts degree at the University of Missouri in Kansas City.

She was a school teacher, and began teaching in 1925.

On April 22, 1947, she married Carl Klos.

Mrs. Klos was a Red Cross official volunteer.

She moved to Colorado from Kansas City. She lived in Big Elk Meadows for eight years and Estes Park for eight years, prior to moving to Longmont.

She enjoyed golf and tennis, and was an avid walker.

Mrs. Klos was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, S. William Higman.

She is survived by a brother, Jack Higman of Kansas City.

Cremation will be by Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 326 Terry St., Longmont 80501.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Christian Church of Estes Park, with the Rev. Scott Weber of Christian Church of Estes Park officiating.

Knott, Timothy Kaber

Nov. 18, 1946 - Nov. 29, 2000

Timothy Kaber Knott of Mead died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at Vista Hospital in Louisville. He was 54.

He was born Nov. 18, 1946, to Raymond and Harriett (Duffy) Knott in Chicago.

He attended school and graduated from high school in Chicago. In 1977, he moved to Colorado with his parents and siblings.

Mr. Knott worked for Pinkerton in Longmont as a security guard.

He enjoyed martial arts, reading, art and drawing. He also loved being with kids and spent a lot of time with his nieces and nephews, of whom he was quite fond.

Mr. Knott was preceded in death by a brother, Duffy Knott.

He is survived by his parents, Raymond and Harriett Knott of Mead; three brothers, Brian Knott of Longmont, Dennis Knott of Ohio and Shane Knott of Mead; two sisters, Colleen Cloth of Northglenn and Maureen K. Bruns of Loveland; 12 nieces and nephews, Duff, Kevin, Aaron, Maureen, John, Brandi, Colt, Kelly, Kim, Brian, Deanne and Chad; and six great-nephews and great-nieces.

A funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Mead.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Mead or The American Diabetes Association, 2480 W. 26th Ave., Suite 120B, Denver 80211.

Arrangements are being handled by All American Cremation in Denver.

LANE, Agnes, 84, of Longmont, passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000 at Applewood Living Center. There will be calling today from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel. Funeral services and burial will be in Maplewood, Minn.

NIEMANN, Joyce Elaine

March 2, 1927 - Nov. 30, 2000

Joyce Elaine Niemann of Carroll, Neb., died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at Providence Medical Center in Wayne, Neb. She was 73.

She was born on March 2, 1927, on a farm to Claude and Eva (Phipps) Stanley in Dixon County, Neb.

She attended Sunday School and church with her grandmother. She was baptized and dedicated her life to Christ at the age of 14.

She attended and graduated from Dixon High School.

For several years, she helped her father care for her invalid mother.

On Jan. 25, 1948, she married Herbert Niemann at the Carroll United Methodist Church in Carroll. The couple farmed and lived west of Wayne for more than 50 years.

Mrs. Niemann had a catering service and loved preparing and serving food for many special occasions.

She was a 50-year member of the First United Methodist Church in Wayne. She was very active in her church and United Methodist Women. She belonged to various community clubs and was an active member of the After Five Christian Women's Group and the Gideon Auxiliary Bible Ministry.

Mrs. Niemann was preceded in death by a brother, Milton Stanley; and a sister and brother-in-law, Iva and Melvin Manz.

Along with her husband, Herbert Niemann, she is survived by three sons, Monte Niemann and his wife Katie, Scott Niemann and his wife Marilyn, all of Longmont, and Shaun Niemann and his wife Earla of Rock Hill, S.C.; a daughter, Claudia Koeber and her husband Dr. Donald of Wayne; two brothers, the Rev. Donald Stanley and his wife Angie of Farmington, Mo., and Robert Stanley and his wife Bonnie of Wayne; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at Schumacher-Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne.

A prayer service will follow at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at Wayne First United Methodist Church.

A Christian service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at First United Methodist Church, Wayne, with the Rev. Mary Tyler Browne officiating.

Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.

Doris Jean Pimple

April 6, 1941 - Nov. 29, 2000

Doris Jean Pimple of Longmont died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at Longmont United Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 59.

She was born April 6, 1941, in Sterling to George and Amelia (Sewald) Pimple.

She grew up in Sterling and graduated from Sterling High School. She later graduated from Northeastern Junior College.

Ms. Pimple worked as a nurse in Sterling before joining the staff of Longmont United Hospital in 1968. She worked at LUH until early autumn of 2000.

She will be remembered as a steadfast caregiver and strong supporter of family and friends.

Ms. Pimple was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by three sisters, Patricia Johnson and her husband Harold of San Antonio, Texas, and Geraldine Lopez and her husband Tom, and Virginia Hedger and her husband Orval, all of Longmont; nine nieces and nephews, Dana Johnson, Kelly Hernandez and Shelly Thomas, all of San Antonio, Thomas Lopez and his wife Karen, Mark Lopez, Jenny Rojas and her husband Tino, Shawn Hedger, and Amy J. Hedger, all of Longmont, and Mike Lopez and his wife Danielle of Berthoud; and six great-nieces and great-nephews, Nicole Lopez of Longmont, Tyson, Alexis and Alivia Lopez of Berthoud, Brandon Lopez of Longmont, and Cassandra Rose Hedger of Longmont.

She will also be missed by her beloved Lhasa Apso, Nicky Licky.

Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 7 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 30, at Howe Mortuary in Longmont. Vigil and rosary services will follow at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Mr. Bill Lee officiating.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with the Rev. Brian Morrow as celebrant.

Cremation will follow. Private inurnment will be held at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Longmont United Hospital, TCU, in care of Jo Toot, 1950 Mountain View Ave., Longmont 80501.

ROE, Leonard Leroy

June 18, 1937 - Nov. 28, 2000

Leonard Leroy Roe of Loveland died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, at North Shore Manor Health Care in Loveland. He was 63.

He was born June 18, 1937, to Clyde L. and Ruth C. (Meyers) Roe in Longmont.

He graduated from Johnstown High School in Johnstown in 1955.

He earned a bachelor's degree in political science and history from the University of Northern Colorado and received a paralegal certificate from Colorado State University.

Mr. Roe enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, and served with the Strategic Air Command until he was discharged in 1959.

He worked at the Great Western Sugar Company in Johnstown and Monfort of Colorado for 11 years, serving as the assistant director of public relations.

Mr. Roe served as a Weld County commissioner in 1976 and instituted the personnel system that is still in use.

In 1994, he moved to Loveland from Greeley and worked at the SAS Rocky Mountain Factory Outlet Store.

He was interested in politics, the Democratic Party, Bible study and reading. He enjoyed following the Rockies and spending time with people, especially children.

He was a member of Abiding Love Lutheran Church in Loveland.

Mr. Roe was preceded in death by a brother, Bert Roe.

He is survived by four sons, Michael L. Roe of Estes Park, Steven D. Roe and his wife Sandy of Memphis, Tenn., Theron J.V. Roe and his wife Summer of Eugene, Ore., and Andrew M. Roe and his wife Kristy of Platteville; a daughter, Debra R. Strickland and her husband Edward of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Dennis Roe and his wife Jeanie of Denver; a sister, Betty Gray of Loveland; and 12 grandchildren.

Cremation has been conducted.

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at Seventh-day Adventist Church, 950 N. Cleveland in Loveland, with the Rev. Kevin J. Klug of Abiding Love Lutheran Church officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home, 1102 Lincoln Ave., Loveland 80537.
