BOYER, Madelyn L.

Madelyn L. BOYER, 86, of Loveland died Dec. 30, 2006, at North Shore Health Care Facility in Loveland.

She was born on Aug. 12, 1920, in Douds, Iowa, to Floyd and Dorothy (Myers) Trout. She graduated from Douds Leando High School in 1939.

She married John Emmett Boyer in Ottumwa, Iowa, on June 15, 1940. They moved from Ottumwa, Iowa, to Evans in 1970, and to Loveland in 1984.

She was a homemaker and a schoolteacher who taught disabled children. She and her husband were also foster parents.

Mrs. Boyer held a deep religious faith. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed camping and spending time in the mountains with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Richard Boyer and wife Patti of Evans, and Ronald Boyer and wife Claudia of Connell, Wash.; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. today at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Duane Trimble officiating.

Burial will follow at Loveland Burial Park.

Opal A. BREW

Opal A. BREW, 85, of Kearney, Neb., died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006, at her home.

Graveside services were held Dec. 28 at the Agra Cemetery in Agra, Kan., with the Rev. Lorna Paulus officiating. Online condolences or personal reflections may be submitted to www.osafh .com. O'Brien-Straatmann-Apfel Funeral Home of Kearney was in charge of arrangements.

Opal was born April 9, 1921, in rural Phillips County, Kan., to Ralph and Helen (Newell) Gaines. Opal lived in Loveland for more than 60 years and moved to Nebraska in July 2005 to be close to family.

She had very special friends in the Loveland area who will miss her dearly: Marie Bach, Peggy and Daniel George, Barry Floyd, Lee Johnson, Rosie Bauer, Mary Perryman, Susan Floyd, Lynn and Becky Wickstrom, Brent, Monica and Pankievich family, Jean Kilbourne, Keith Volk and many more friends.

Opal had a soul mate, and that was J.B. Floyd, who went and met his maker Jan. 24, 2003. Opal and J.B. were together over 30 years. Everyone loved the two of them with all their hearts, and they loved you right back.

J.B. had three children, Barry Floyd, Jamie Bryan, and Steve Floyd. Also there were three granddaughters, AnnElise, Andrea and Ali. They were family to Opal.

Opal loved flowers, plants, collecting and selling things, writing and receiving letters. She loved her cooking shows. She also loved to sit and visit, and talk on the phone. She will be missed very much.

Survivors include one brother, Francis Gaines and wife Ada of Kansas; one sister, Betty Jensen of Nebraska; six nieces and two nephews; and 17 great-nieces and nephews; J.B.'s children, Barry Floyd, Jamie Bryan and Steve Floyd; J.B.'s granddaughters and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Helen Gaines, one brother, Harold, one sister, Ada Goracke, soul mate, J.B. Floyd in January 2003, brothers-in-law Ernie Jensen and Leonard Goracke, and ex-husband, Roy Brew.

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, at Blue Sky Church at Fourth and Cleveland in downtown Loveland. Officiant will be Lynn Wickstrom. Keyboard Becky Wickstrom. A reception will follow the service.

Please bring a covered dish.

Contributions may be made to the Blue Sky Church homeless shelter.

WEIBEL, Mildred M.

Mildred M. WEIBEL, 90, of Loveland died Dec. 30, 2006, at North Shore Health Care Facility.

She was born Sept. 8, 1916, in Hoven, S.D., to Peter and Catherine Schaefer Simon.

She married Charles J. Weibel on June 1, 1937. He preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker who moved to Loveland in 2002 from Aberdeen, S.D., where she had lived for 50 years.

She was a 50-year member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aberdeen.

She loved playing bridge.

Mrs. Weibel is survived by a son, Chuck Weibel and wife Kathy of Loveland; two daughters, Darlene M. Som-

mer and husband Dave of Lakewood, and Jean L. Weibel of Burnsville, Minn.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Weibel.

Funeral services and burial will be Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hoven, S.D.

Viegut Funeral Home in Loveland is handling local arrangements.

Darwin Lee Schmidt

August 31, 1953 ~ January 10, 2012

Darwin Lee Schmidt, 58, of Masonville, CO passed away on January 10, 2012 due to natural causes. He was born August 31, 1953 to Harvey and Arlene Schmidt. He grew up in the Buckhorn Valley and lived in Loveland for most of his life. He returned to the Buckhorn Valley to finish out his life.

Darwin graduated from Loveland High School in 1971. He worked for Chevaliers Ideal Furniture through high school and then Loveland Industries. In 1980, he started driving semi for Weather Shield Manufacturing until the plant was relocated to Utah. He then worked for the Window Center in Boulder for Chris Kniese and then Kerry Rogers Trucking.

Darwin married Connie Haller in Drake, CO. They had two children, Derick Ray and Shanna Lee. They later divorced and he married Joy Klein. They later divorced. Darwin's passions were motorcycles and muscle cars. Owning many throughout his life, he had a 1970 El Camino and a 1966 Toronado at the time of his death. Darwin enjoyed all forms of motorsports, NHRA, NASCAR, and truck and tractor pulls.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Harvey Schmidt; sisters, Darnel Canham and Darlene Gillespie; and his son, Derick Ray Schmidt. Surviving family members are his mom, Arlene Schmidt, Polson, MT; sister, Darcie (Rex) Harris, Kalispell, MT; brother, Darrel Schmidt, Masonville, CO; daughter, Shanna Schmidt of Loveland; and step-sons, Aaran Krings and Cody Rabe.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 20 at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Andrew (Andy) F. McElroy

March 17, 1934 - April 8, 2012

Andy was born in Holyoke, Colorado. He lived and raised his family in Loveland, Colorado and has lived in Arizona for the last 28 years.

Andy is survived by his wife, Laurie; daughter, Susan (Steve) Wolfe; son, David (Veronica) McElroy; daughter, Mary McElroy; and partner, Eric Donovan; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Clara McElroy; brother, Dick McElroy; sister, Maggie McElroy; and great-granddaughter, Isabella Marie McElroy.

Cremation has been conducted and no memorial services will be held, per his request.

John E. "Jack" Gammie

November 18, 1923 ~ March 9, 2012

John E. "Jack" Gammie, 88, of Loveland, formerly of Boulder passed away March 9, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2012 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Boulder. Memorial contributions may be made to Masonic Lodge # 1163 of Illinois in care of Allnutt Funeral Service.

Karen E. Ehlers Bauman

October 5, 1945 - April 17, 2012

Karen E. Ehlers Bauman, age 66 of Loveland, CO formerly of Lincoln, died April 17, 2012 in Loveland. She was born October 5, 1945 in Billings, MT to Walter and Janice (Ireland) Ehlers. Karen was involved with Campfire Girls, Girl Scouts, Theta Rho and was very active in the churches she attended and really enjoyed Calvary Community Church. She loved to help people, which led her to work in nursing homes and child care. Karen won an award for putting in the most hours as a caregiver when she worked at a nursing home, she also was involved with the Foster Grandma Program. She loved spending time with her family, camping, fishing and swimming when she was younger.

Survivors include her husband Ron Bauman of Loveland, CO; Children, Tammy of Apple Valley, MN. Shawn of Palmyra, NE. and Aaron of Lincoln. Grandchildren, Max of Apple Valley, MN. Isaiha and Jaden of Lincoln. Brothers and Sisters-in-law: Wayne and Linda Ehlers and Gary and Dorothy Ehlers all of Lincoln. Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.

Services will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. in Calvary Community Church, 4400 N. 1st Street, Lincoln.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 23, 2012 at Wyuka Funeral Home, 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The family will be present from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. to greet friends.

Memorials may be left for the family for a later designation.

Sheri Shaw

October 28, 1970 ~ April 19, 2012

Sheri Shaw, 41, of Loveland, CO passed away April 19, 2012 in Loveland, CO. She was born on October 28, 1970 in Julesburg, CO to Harry and Suzann Shaw. She graduated from Highland High School in Albuquerque, NM. Sheri grew up in the Navy and traveled all over with her family. Sheri enjoyed working at Soundtrack in Fort Collins, CO. She loved gardening and bowling, Sheri also loved to play the piano and dance. Sheri was just starting her newest venture, Kung Fu. She was all about family, not about things. She is survived by her mother, Suzann Shaw; daughter, Nicole Genteel; fiancé, Duane Magnuson and family. Sheri was preceded in death by her father, Harry C. Shaw. A visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 with the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. at Allnutt Funeral Service in Loveland. Memorial contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice and / or Cancer Center in Ft. Collins in care of Allnutt Funeral Service.

Billye G. Whitcraft

June 19, 1929 - April 15, 2012

Billye Whitcraft, formerly of Loveland Colorado, died at the age of 82 in Las Vegas, Nevada April 15, 2012. Billye was born June 19, 1929 in Altus, Oklahoma to Lela Maud Whited and Edd Towne. She was married to Thomas Whitcraft in Carlsbad, New Mexico in April 1952. They traveled with the National Park Service, working in Hawaii on the Island of Maui; in Estes Park, Colorado; and in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They retired to Loveland in 1970. She lived there until moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2004 to live with her daughter.

Billye was a homemaker until 1970. She later worked as an Avon representative; a receptionist in banks, mortgage companies and insurance companies; and, as a driver for the auto auction.

Billye is survived by her only child, Cathleen Whitcraft, formerly of Loveland. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was an active member in the Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron twice. She was also active in the Order of the White Shrine and served once as the Worthy High Priestess. She enjoyed traveling, nature walks, experiencing new cuisine, and playing with pets.

Billye is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Whitcraft who died November 14, 1975. Cremation has been conducted. Memorial service will be at Rest Haven Memory Garden in Fort Collins, Colorado. Time and date are pending.

Waylon Ehrlich

May 27, 1992 - April 201, 2012

Waylon Jay Ehrlich, 19, of Milliken, passed away April 20, 2012.

Waylon was born May 27, 1992 in Greeley to his loving parents LeRon and Lori Ehrlich. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Johnstown. After graduating, Waylon took a year off to decide what he wanted to major in and was planning to attend CSU this fall for a business and agriculture degree.

“Otis”, his nickname amongst friends and family, was a proud member of the Roosevelt High School FFA where he served as officer and member of the judging team. He was a role model and mentor for younger 4-H and FFA members for showmanship with livestock, mainly market hogs. Waylon was the grand champion showman at the Boulder County Fair last year.

He wrestled for 9 years, and was a referee for 2 years on the Colorado Wrestling Officials Association for local and national tournaments.

Waylon was a dedicated, hard-working, mature young man who always had a smile and communicated with young and old alike. He loved spending time with his family, especially his brother. As a Jack of all trades, he helped his father with many construction projects. He had a lawn mowing operation when he was 12, and was the owner of Ehrlich Customs LLC. He's worked on local farms since he was in 8th grade and was currently working a trust with his grandfather.

Waylon is survived by his parents, brother Nick (Maria) Ehrlich of Johnstown, grandparents Ron Ehrlich of Milliken and Karen Ehrlich of Johnstown, grandmother Darlene Fenner of Loveland, great-grandmother Henrietta Siegfried of Fort Collins, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and lots and lots of friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at the United Methodist Church of Johnstown. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Waylon Ehrlich FFA Scholarship Fund in care of the Colorado Community Bank of Milliken 1300 Broad Street, Milliken, CO 80543.

Margaret E. Johannsen

June 1, 1918 ~ April 20, 2012

Margaret Johannsen, 93, of Loveland, formerly of Lyndhurst, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on April 20, 2012. Margaret was born and resided in Denmark until the day that her family immigrated to the United States when she was a small child. She was married to her husband Bernard Johannsen for 45 years until the day of his passing several decades ago. Survivors include 3 daughters - Greta, Karen and Donna, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 5 nieces. She was a homemaker for many years until she carved out a career for herself as a draftsperson for Leslie Company that was located in Lyndhurst, NJ. A private family memorial will be held in the future at a yet undetermined date. Anyone wishing to make a charitable contribution in her memory may do so to Hospice of Larimer County or the Larimer County Humane Society through Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home, 1102 Lincoln Avenue, Loveland, Colorado 80537.

Earl Eugene "Gene" Wild

May 31, 1932 - April 21, 2012

Earl Eugene "Gene" Wild passed away early Saturday morning, April 21, 2012 at the Western States Burn Center at NCMC in Greeley, CO with his family at his side.

Gene was born in Loveland, CO on May 31, 1932. He graduated from Loveland High School in 1950. On November 22, 1954 he married Beverly Duvall in Loveland. He was a life-long resident of Loveland. From 1951-1954 he proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Gene was employed at Great Western MSG Plant in Johnstown, CO. from 1954-1983 where he was well known by his co-workers for his incredible talent to maintain and operate the instruments. His abilities were clearly evident when he was an instrument technician for the City of Loveland. In 1988 he received the high honor of Employee of the Year for the City of Loveland. He retired in 1992.

His greatest love was for his family. He was so proud of each and every one of them for their accomplishments. He also greatly loved being out in nature whether he fished, hunted, hiked, or just enjoyed the beauty of his beloved Rocky Mountains. He was a proud lifelong member of the N.R.A.

Gene is survived by his wife Beverly; his three sons, Brad (Linda) Wild, Boyd (Carol) Wild, and Bruce (Ava) Wild; his grandchildren Lindsey Wild, Cole Wild, Dustin (Renee) Wild, and Cody Wild all of the Loveland area. He is also survived by four step-grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren, sister Joann (Tony) Cortez of Casper, WY, sisters-in-law Marilyn (Jim) Vetter and Donna Kamke, several nieces and nephews, and his faithful four-legged companions, Cloie and Molly.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Vera Wild, his father and mother-in-law Floyd and Helen Duvall, and his sister Betty Jo Shahady.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Interment at Resthaven Memory Gardens followed by a reception. At Gene's request, there will be no viewing.

Robert (Bob) Leroy Berling

April 11, 1931 - April 22, 2012

Bob Berling, age 81, of Windsor and Red Feather Lakes, Colorado, died April 22, 2012, in Windsor. He was born in Denver on April 11, 1931, to Reuben and Martha (Horsens) Berling. He grew up in Edgewater, Colorado, and later in Broomfield, graduating from Arvada High School in 1949. Bob graduated with honors in Civil Engineering in June 1954 from Colorado A&M; College (now known as Colorado State University). That same year he married Ruth Ann Harkness of Golden. They divorced in 1973. In August of 1954, he was inducted into military service, serving two years with the U.S. Army, Fifth Infantry Division, in the occupation of Germany. He was stationed in Augsburg, Germany.

In August 1956, he joined the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) in the engineering office at the Denver Federal Center. In 1974, he married Mary Ann (Kremer) Petersen of Longmont. After 40 years of engineering service in the world, working for USBR; RAD International Consulting; World Bank; and various churches and community involvements, he was truly a man dedicated to helping people.

Bob was a past member of Resurrection Fellowship Church and helped build a Bible school in Argentina. In 1994 he and Mary Ann became members of Morning Star Community Church (MSCC) in Red Feather Lakes, where he had acquired property and built a home, which he named "Reuben's Ranch, " after his father who had originally purchased the property with him in 1982. Bob was an Elder for several terms of office at MSCC and was instrumental in heading up the church fundraising effort for the church building built in 1997.

Bob is survived by a family of seven children, 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. His immediate family survivors include wife Mary Ann of Windsor; daughter Debora (Ron) Thompson of Houston, Texas; sons: Douglas Berling of Northglenn and Gary (Quin) Berling of Centennial; stepdaughters: Vickie (Steve) Jacobson of Spofford, NH, Cheryl Petersen of Loveland, Diane Petersen of Loveland, and Deb (Don) Cumpsten of Loveland.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 27th at Morning Star Community Church, 23628 CR 74E, Red Feather Lakes at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Bob to Morning Star Community Church, PO Box 530, Red Feather Lakes, CO 80545 or to the Evangelical Free Church, 700 Pine St., in Windsor, CO 80550.

Luella D. Sheldon

December 16, 1925 - April 20, 2012

Luella Dorthy Sheldon formerly of Loveland, died April 20, 2012 in Bentonville, AR. She was born Dec. 16, 1925 in Gibbon, NE to Martin and Dorthy delaMotte. She was 86 years old.

She married Edgar “Ed” Sheldon Oct. 4, 1952 in Chicago IL and they lived there until moving to Loveland in 1982. She later moved to Bentonville, AR in 2009. Luella was a waitress and a retail clerk for many years.

She was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. She loved reading, crocheting, and doing her yard work.

She is survived by her daughter Gail Sheldon of Loveland and Sharon Desavedo (Les) of Bentonville, AR; brother Don delaMotte of Colorado; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Luella is preceded in death by her husband Ed, son Ron Sheldon, and brothers Harold and Loren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012, 10:30 am at Mt Olive Lutheran Church. Viewing will be 1 hour prior to services at the church. Burial in Kimball, NE.
