CHARLES ACKLEY GILLETT
Charles Ackley Gillett went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, 16 April 2002. He was born 10 May 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Denzil Clark and Helena Maude (Wells) Gillett.
Chuck was a 27 year Veteran of the Air Force, Retired from Civil Service in 1997 and was employed by Fountain Wal-Mart.
He married Arlene E. Mulhollan on 4 September 1955 in Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania. Chuck was a member of the Fountain Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and has served as a counselor in the High Priests Group and Temple Coordinator.
Survived by his wife Arlene of Colorado Springs, daughters; Debra (Daryl) Taylor of Colorado Springs, and Karen (Brad) Trunnell of Liberty, MO, Sons Charles R. (Charilla) of Leavenworth, KS and Andrew S. (Sara) of Kernersville, N.C., 15 grandchildren. Sisters; Catherine Harmston and Bev Anderson of Kearns, UT. Sister-in-law, Retha Gillett of West Valley City, UT. Brother, Don of Fairfield, CA and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; Keith and Doug, and sister Iris Hales.
The family thanks the Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care for their services, care and support. In lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to Hospice and the American Cancer Society.
Visitation were held Wednesday April 17, 2002 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Dove-Witt Mortuary . Services will be Thursday April 18, 2002 at 2:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Putnam Chapel). Private family burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later date.
KENT CARTER
Kent Carter, 59, passed away at his home in homestead Florida on April 15, 2002 after a 6 month bout with cancer.
Kent was born June 2, 1942 in Colby Kansas to Darrel and Wanda (Huchins) Carter. He was raised in Colorado Springs, and graduated from Wasson High School in 1960. He retired from the Air Force in 1982. He was near retirement as a Veteran's Services Officer for Miami/Dade County. He is survived by his wife Rosie, his parents Darrel and Wanda Carter, and his sister and her husband, Bill and Konnie Sandras. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Kent was such an inspiration to so many people, even in his last days. He will be truly missed by family, countless friends and his church family. There will be a memorial service in Homestead, Florida on May 4, 2002.
Kent loved life, but most of all he loved the lord.

KATHY NEVADA FARRAR
Kathy Nevada Farrar, born on October 29, 1942 died on April 16, 2002 after a hard fought battle with breast cancer. She was 59 years old.
Kathy was born in Pittsburgh PA to Johnny Farrar and Marjorie Nevada Hogan. She attended slippery Rock State College where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. She later earned her Masters Degree in Reading from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She taught school for more than 20 years and was an innovative and dedicated teacher with a true passion for teaching kids to read.
Survived by her mother, one son, Mitchell William Caldwell, one daughter, Nevada Jean Presley and two grandchildren, Kathy's family knows most her dedication to those she loved. She will be profoundly missed.
Services were held on Thursday, April 18 in Colorado Springs. Interment will be on Friday in Fruita, Colorado. In lieu of flowers please make contributions in her name to the Literacy Center at Turman Elementary School, 3245 Springnite Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80915. 719 -579-2195.
JOYCE JANE MC GEE
Joyce Jane McGee, loving wife and mother, born September 28, 1929 in Adrian, MI, passed away April 15, 2002 in Colorado Springs. She is survived by her husband, Larry and her 6 children, Richard Webster, Dean Webster, Jack Webster, Rod Webster, Debbie Messenger and Danny Webster; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She worked at St. Francis Hospital for 17 years.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sat., April 13th at 1:00 pm at the Danny Webster Residence, 4306 Friar Lane in Colorado Springs.

FRED HENRY KEY SR.
Fred Henry Key Sr. passed away April 17, 2002 at a local Hospice. Born April 18, 1918 in Maunee, Illinois to William and Elizabeth (Vincent) Key.
married to Mary Alice Stephens, July 4, 1942 in Monticello, Mississippi. He is survived by his wife and two children Fred and Ramona; three grandchildren Heidi Van Den Aardweg, Mckenzie, Joann Van Den Aardweg and Gretel Van Den Aardweg; three great-grandchildren Laurel, Amelia and Grayson McKenzie. Brothers William Key and Lacy Key; sisters Myrtle Mesechoff, Louise Hall and Hyson Utley all of Mt. Vernon, Indiana. He worked as an automobile mechanic for over fifty years. He always enjoyed the Western Outdoors and he was an avid fisherman. During W W II he served five years in the regular Army, two of which were spent in Burma.
Private internment at a local cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers donations in his name to Pikes Peak Hospice or Silver Key would be appreciated.

WHISTON R. LARIMER
Whiston R. Larimer, 67. of Fountain, passed away at home on Wednesday April 17th, 2002 and joined our heavenly father. Born September 20, 1934 in Oxford, Iowa to Parker and Mildred Larimer. married September 4, 1973 to Nhan (Kim) T. Nguyen. Whiston is survived by his wife of 28 years, children-Linda, Simon, Peggy Palmgren, Park Larimer, all of fountain, Roger Larimer and Elaine Murphy, 8 grandchildren, his mother, 5 brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his father, 1 brother, and 1 sister. Whiston was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army and retired after 20 years of service.
Visitation at Dove-Witt Mortuary in Fountain will be held Sunday April 21, 2002 from 3:00 to 5:00pm, followed by a Rosary Prayer. Funeral services will be held at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Fountain on Monday April 22, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. following the funeral, burial will take place at Memorial Gardens, Colorado Springs. Whiston was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be greatly missed by family, friend and loved ones.
ADOLPHINE "PAT" DEMERS
Adolphine "Pat" Demers, 84, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2002. Pat was born in Vienna, Austria to Tobias and Anna Gross. The events of WWII caused Pat and her family to be dispersed throughout Europe and South America. Pat moved to England where her daughter Linda was born and where they persevered through the war and post-war years. She then moved to Florence, and eventually Naples, Italy where she worked for NATO.
In addition to her secretarial duties, Pat was multi-lingual and translated and taught German, Italian, and English to her multi-national coworkers. It was here that she met her husband, John. They were married on November 29, 1957 in Basle, Switzerland.
As a military wife Pat enjoyed traveling throughout Europe, finally moving to the United States in 1960. She loved the freedom and security of America and demonstrated this by her participation in local elections. She loved to
laugh, loved dining out, music and languages. She was proud that she learned to drive in her 50's and loved the independence she gained from that. She is best remembered as a devoted wife and companion to John and as a mother who loved her daughters Linda and Jeanne unconditionally. Pat was as an independent woman of wit, wisdom and great strength who appreciated her life. In her last years these qualities remained. Her quiet perseverance through a lengthy illness made her easy to love and care for.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Charlotte and Berta. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, John, by her daughters Linda (Gianfranco) Bianchi, Jeanne (Anthony) Peduto and her grandson Lorenzo Bianchi.
A celebration of Life will be held at the Medallion East Living Center, 9:00 A.M., Friday, April 19, 2002; and at the Community Congregation, 1013 Pawnee Avenue, Manitou Springs, CO. The interment will take place at 11:00 A.M., Monday, April 22, at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
THOMAS J. HRIN
Thomas J. Hrin was born December 30, 1956, Philadelphia, PA. He passed away March 24, 2002 in Roseville, CA after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
He graduated from Shippensburg State College, Shippensburg, PA, where he majored in communications and journalism. He was most recently employed as the Vice-President of Purchasing for U.S. Home, Sacramento Division (Lennar Corporation); had been a longtime construction supervisor/superintendent; and was the author of home-building trade and consumer manuals. A sports enthusiast, he served as a youth football, baseball and basketball coach in the Roseville and Rocklin communities.
He is survived by his wife Nancy and his beloved children, Daniel and Julia, of Rocklin. Cherished son of Violet Hrin and the late Joseph Hrin of Philadelphia, PA, and the brother of Stephen and Michael of Colorado, Joseph, Mary Elizabeth and Barbara Matkowski of Pennsylvania and 'adopted' brother David Demichei of Roseville, and their families. Extended family includes 11 nieces, 14 nephews, 5 aunts, 5 uncles and 26 cousins.
The family wishes to acknowledge and express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Kristie Bobolis; the staff of Sutter Roseville Medical Center, Oncology Ward; Sherman Haggerty, Mike Mercer, Gaye Martin, and co-workers of U.S. home-Sacramento Division (Lennar Corporation); the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church community; and to his many friends, colleagues and neighbors who have provided and continue to provide immeasurable comfort and support to Tom and his family.
