SHANNON E. HOUSTON

Mr. Houston, 30, a former Colorado Springs resident, died June 8, 2001, in Denver. He was a telemarketer.

Mr. Houston was born June 7, 1971, in Carthage, Mo., to Patrica "Pat" Yates and Garey E. Houston.

He is survived by a son, Shannon; a daughter, Angelique; his mother; his father; and a sister, Jennifer K. Sbaiti.

A gathering will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Cappadona's Family Center, 3133 N. El Paso St., 520-1817.

RETIRED SGT. MAJ. MILTON CRAIG

Sgt. Maj. Craig, 71, died June 10, 2001, at a local hospital. He served in the Army for 25 years. He was a member and on the board of directors of the Buffalo Soldiers Calvary of West.

Sgt. Maj. Craig was born Feb. 23, 1930, in Boley, Okla., to Samuel and Dora Lee (Martin) Craig, who are deceased. He was married in November 1955 to Paula Schuchmann, who is deceased.

He is survived by three daughters, Loretta M. Vallier, Sharon L. Seidel and Carmen M. Santistevan; three brothers, James Craig of Riverside, Calif., Claude Gordon of Tulsa, Okla., and William Alverson of Colorado Springs; three sisters, Norma Jean Price, Vonsetta Alverson and Sue Gaiteis, all of Tulsa; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Craig and Clyde Gordon.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Angelus Funeral Directors, 2535 Airport Road, 391-1918. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 902 S. Prospect St. A committal service with full military honors will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., staging area C, Denver.

BILLIE LOU FREDERICK

Mrs. Frederick, 78, died June 11, 2001, at a local care center. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Frederick was born April 24, 1923, in Morrison, Okla., to George and Ethel Vinson, who are deceased. She was married June 16, 1946, to Fred Lee Frederick.

She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Annelie (Barry) Waggoner, Mary Jane (Bob) Barth and Sue Ellen Jones (David Crocker); a sister, Media Walters; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Ehrenberg, and a great-grandson, Jordan Plane.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Memorial Gardens Chapel, 3825 Airport Road. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, 610 Abbot Lane, Colorado Springs 80905.

GLENORA (MEYERS) HOBDEN

Mrs. Hobden, 86, died June 10, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Hobden was born Oct. 14, 1914, in Clyde to Isadore and Minnie Meyers, who are deceased. She was married March 28, 1934, to Jessie "Wayne" Hobden, who is deceased.

She is survived by five sons, Charles, Richard, Bill, Russell and Alan; a daughter, Alice Bryan; a brother, Bob Meyers; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Al Meyers, Art Meyers, Les Meyers, Glen Meyers and Kenneth Meyers; and four sisters, Myrtle McWilliams, Helen Meyers, Barbara Brown and Elise Knight.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Evangelical Free Church, 820 N. 30th St. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

DRINNON D. WILCOTS

Mr. Wilcots, 61, died June 12, 2001, at a local hospital. He was an auto-detailer manager.

Mr. Wilcots was born Dec. 13, 1939, in Bartlesville, Okla., to Rueben and Alberta (Alfred) Wilcots, who are deceased. He was married to Helen M. Hatter.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Drinnon D.; two daughters, Barbara J. Campbell and Shirley K. Brown; a sister, Wilma J. Jordan; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., 475-8303. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Evergreen Funeral Home "Chapel of Peace." Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

THOMAS EDWARD "TOM" ARTHURS

Mr. Arthurs, 68, died June 8, 2001, in Simla. He was a rancher.

Mr. Arthurs was born Jan. 31, 1933, in Ramah to Garner and Myrtle (Harlow) Arthurs, who are deceased. He was married to Rosalie Christnagle, who is deceased.

He is survived by a son, James L. "Jim." He was preceded in death by a brother, John, and a sister, Garnet Obujen.

Viewing will be from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday with services at 9:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Sioux Ave., Simla. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave. Cappadona's Alternative Funeral Services, 3407 N. El Paso St., 520-1817, is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the giver's choice.

PHILIP L. LUQUE

Mr. Luque, 78, a former Colorado Springs resident, died June 9, 2001, in Grand Junction. He retired from E.I. DuPont and served in the Army from 1942 to 1945.

Mr. Luque was born Aug. 6, 1922, in Colorado Springs to Salomé "Samuel" J. Luque and May Fontana, who are deceased. He was married Oct. 20, 1951, to Doris E. Reisinger.

He is survived by his wife; five sons, Philip L. (Claudia) of Napa, Calif., John L. (Lori) of Denver, Richard L. (LaDonna) of Grand Junction, Michael L. (Sandy) of Denver and Robert L. of Mexico; three daughters, Rachael A. (Tony) Soto of Pueblo, Pricilla T. Schultz of Palisade and Maria D. (Dave) Place of Clifton; a brother, Samuel Luque Jr., of Colorado Springs; a sister, Rose Lewis, of Colorado Springs; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. Entombment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven.

WENDELL HERBERT GRIESE

Mr. Griese, 71, died June 9, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He retired from TRW Corp. and served in the Air Force for 26 years, attaining the rank of chief master sergeant.

Mr. Griese was born Jan. 3, 1930, in Aurora, Ill. He was married June 17, 1955, to Vernice Freeman.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Terrance Bardwell, Scott Bardwell and David Bardwell; two daughters, Corliss Hansen and Allison Wolverton; two brothers, Richard Head and Delmar Head; a sister, Linda Neumann; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held. Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, 590-8922, is handling arrangements.

FRED J. URIDIL

Mr. Uridil, 93, a former Colorado Springs resident, died June 10, 2001, in Littleton. He retired as chief engineer from the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and served in the Navy from 1927 to 1931.

Mr. Uridil was born Oct. 3, 1907, in Buckingham, Iowa, to Thomas and Mary (Kubik) Uridil, who are deceased. He was married Dec. 29, 1932, to Iva J. Briggs.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Gary and Dennis; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. Inurnment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum.

ADA E. CATRON

Mrs. Catron, 98, died June 9, 2001, at a local care center. She was a retired LPN. She was one of the first LPNs to be waivered in as a LPN in Joplin, Mo.

Mrs. Catron was born Aug. 12, 1902, in Topeka, Kan., to Carl and Mary (Ferdinand) Edmond, who are deceased. She was married to Theadore "Ted" Walker, who is deceased. She was then married May 1, 1942, to Charlie O. Catron, who is deceased.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Hackworth of O'Fallan, Mo., and Norma Houghton of Colorado Springs; 11 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles E. Walker; a brother, Carl Edmond; two sisters, Edna Edmond and Anna Stanback; and a grandson, Lysle T. Houghton.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ellicott Community Open Door Church, 2055 Log Road, Calhan. A private family inurnment will be in Missouri. Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, 590-8922, is handling arrangements.

ALICE A. ULWELLING

Mrs. Ulwelling, 81, died June 9, 2001, at her home in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker and mother.

Mrs. Ulwelling was born April 14, 1920, in Table Rock to Garland and Millie (Tintle) Webb, who are deceased. She was married Feb. 11, 1939, to Robert A. "Bob" Ulwelling, who is deceased.

She is survived by two daughters, Alice Ann Colton of Colorado Springs and Bobbie Lou Warick of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Judy Sullivan, of Colorado Springs; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her beloved pet, Mister De Coco. She was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Webb.

Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday with services at 11 a.m. at Memorial Gardens Chapel, 3825 Airport Road. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-7991, is handling arrangements.

JOHN GALLEGOS

Mr. Gallegos, 57, died June 10, 2001, at a local hospital. He was an underwriter for Traveler's Insurance for 30 years. He served in the Army and was stationed in South Korea.

Mr. Gallegos was born July 19, 1943, in Delta to Nick and Marjorie (Martinez) Gallegos. His father is deceased.

He is survived by his mother; two brothers, Manuel and Nicholas; and two sisters, Rosalie Logan and Sally Montoya.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2030 W. Colorado Ave. Inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery, 1000 S. 26th St. Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, is handling arrangements.

DON C. DUNCAN

Mr. Duncan, 73, died June 10, 2001, at a local hospital. He was a retired computer programmer and served in the Navy Reserves for six years.

Mr. Duncan was born Dec. 15, 1927, in Ferrelview, Mo., to Lawrence and Thelma E. (Cockrill) Duncan. His father is deceased. He was married Feb. 20, 1954, to Joan L. Haley.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Mark L. (Melany); a daughter, Karen A. (David L.) Duncan-Thorp; his mother; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. Services will be at a later date in Lee's Summit, Mo.
