ERMA RUTH (EDWARDS) PEPPERL

Mrs. Pepperl, 83, died June 6, 2001, at a local hospital. She retired as a secretary from Colorado College.

Mrs. Pepperl was born May 26, 1918, in Atwood, Kan., to James Frank and Fannie Mabel Edwards, who are deceased. She was married Feb. 6, 1937, to Lawrence E. Pepperl, who is deceased.

She is survived by four daughters, Norma (Bill) Pate of Colorado Springs, Barbara (Dennis) Lang of Colorado Springs, Jenette (Tom) Croft of Seattle and Donna (Dave) Culbertson of Winnipeg, Canada; a brother, Arlo Edwards, of Colby, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Murray Edwards, and three sisters, Erylce Nelson, Doris Henningsen and Leta John.

Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. U.S. Highway 85/87, Fountain, 390-4906. Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary. Burial will be at Crystal Valley Cemetery, 501 Plainview Place, Manitou Springs.

JERRY B. HIGGINBOTHAM

Mr. Higginbotham, 70, died May 31, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was a manager at Parts and Body Shop.

Mr. Higginbotham was born Nov. 14, 1930, in Kansas City, Mo., to William B. and Pearl (Payton) Higginbotham, who are deceased.

He is survived by a son, Scott Bone; two daughters, Cindy Borst and Susan Jensen; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cappadona's Family Service Center, 3407 N. El Paso St., 520-1817.

ROSE ANN McDANIEL

Mrs. McDaniel, 55, died May 29, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She worked as director of child care at the Nazarene Bible College for the past 10 years. Before that, she served as the Minister to senior adults at the First Church of the Nazarene. She graduated from Lamar High School in 1963, going on to finish her B.A. in Religion from Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, Okla., in 1967.

Mrs. McDaniel was born Sept. 11, 1945, in Lamar, Mo., to Garald and Olive Pyatt. Her father is deceased. She was married Aug. 18, 1967, to Leonard McDaniel.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Theron S.; two daughters, Sheree L. Bales and Danae R. Theleman; her mother; two sisters, Marilyn Howard and Garalene Pyatt; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Swan Law Cascade Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road.

MARIAN FLORENCE WOODLEY

Mrs. Woodley, 69, died May 30, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was retired from nursing.

Mrs. Woodley was born Nov. 29, 1931, in Chicago, to John and Callie (Gorens) Hood, who are deceased. She was married Aug. 6, 1952, to Jarvis G. Woodley, who is deceased.

She is survived by two sons, Kevin and Kenji V., both of Colorado Springs; four daughters, Cheryl D. Clayton of Albuquerque, N.M., Deborah C. Gantt, Michelle S. Woodley and Xeturah M. Woodley, all of Colorado Springs; a brother, Robert D. Hood, of Milwaukee; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, George L. Hood, and a sister, Joycelyn L. Durr.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Angelus Funeral Directors, 2535 Airport Road, 391-1918. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church, 1 S. Walnut St. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

DIANA ASBURY

Mrs. Asbury, 47, died June 1, 2001, at home in Woodland Park. She was employed by Dorsey Dental Clinic in Woodland Park.

Mrs. Asbury was born May 22, 1954, in Miami, to George and Yolly (Balseiro) Buchmann. Her father is deceased. She was married June 30, 1995, to George Asbury.

She is survived by her husband; a son, George Dane, of Woodland Park; two daughters, Amanda and Morgan, both of Woodland Park; a brother, Terry Buchmann; and a sister, Vicki Kuethe. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Buchmann, and a sister, Melodye Buchmann.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mountain View United Methodist Church, 1101 Rampart Range Road., Woodland Park. Cremation is planned. Mountain Memorial, 51 County Road 5, Divide, 687-0333, is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Asbury Children College Fund, in care of Vectra Bank, P.O. Box 39, Woodland Park 80866.

JEANNETTE LUCILE ANDERSON

Mrs. Anderson, 79, died June 1, 2001, at home in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker and also worked at Tulsa Aircraft Plant during World War II.

Mrs. Anderson was born May 28, 1922, in Grant, Mich., to Raymond and Edna Allison, who are deceased. She was married Nov. 1, 1941, to Marshall Garth Anderson, who is deceased.

She is survived by two sons, Michael and Eric; a daughter, Cyndee Foster; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Marshall, and a brother, Max Jensen.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Cremation is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1385, Colorado Springs 80901.

RETIRED MAJOR WILLIAM ALEXANDER BARRETT

Maj. Barrett, 82, died May 30, 2001, at a local care center. He retired from the Air Force after 26 years of service, attaining the rank of major.

Maj. Barrett was born June 21, 1918, in Camden, Miss., to Wilburn Rueben and Mona Temperence (Browning) Barrett, who are deceased. He was married June 11, 1943, to Mary Elizabeth Whitaker.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Dale R. and William Donald; a daughter, Manette B. Norville; a brother, Cecil Terry; a sister, Helen; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Air Force Academy Community Center Chapel. Colorado Springs Mortuary and Cremation Services, 3475 Astrozon Court, 392-4144, is handling arrangements.

HAROLD F. BAUDER

Mr. Bauder, 76, died May 31, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was a president of an electrical construction company. He also served in the Army.

Mr. Bauder was born July 15, 1924, in Denver, to John and Emily (Lutz) Bauder, who are deceased. He was married to Dorothy M. Akerblade.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Harold F. "Hal" Jr. and John C.; two daughters, Kristeen M. Nichols and Linda J. Lakeland; two brothers, Bob and Bill; a mother-in-law, Ethel Akerblade; and four grandchildren, Nicholas, Ryan, Sam and Rachelle. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Art and Ed.

Services have been held. Cappadona's Alternative Funeral Service, 3407 N. El Paso St., 520-1817, is handling arrangements.

PHILIP C. "SKIP" CAMERA

Mr. Camera, 35, died June 1, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He worked in the mortgage industry.

Mr. Camera was born Oct. 24, 1965, in New Haven, Conn., to Phil and Joan Camera. He was married Jan. 7, 1995, to Katie Dysart.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Leah, Robyn and Tara; his parents; and a sister, Michelle Madelyne.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, 219 E. Bijou St. Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, is handling arrangements.

ROBERT C. JENKINS

Mr. Jenkins, 78, a former Colorado Springs resident, died May 31, 2001, in Denver, of a traffic accident. He was a retired gas installer and serviceman, and he was a volunteer firefighter. He also served in the Army during World War II.

Mr. Jenkins was born March 21, 1923, in Boxville, Ky. He was married June 28, 1985, to Joyce MacAlmon.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Donna Flynn and Ann Jenkins, both of Loveland; two brothers, Ron of Henderson, Ky., and Neel of Morganfield, Ky.; a sister, Marjorie Bohannon, of Evansville, Ind.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Runyan Mortuary, Buena Vista, (719) 395-2961. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cornerstone Church, Buena Vista.

MARIANNE "MURPH" DICK

Mrs. Dick, 77, a former Colorado Springs resident, died May 31, 2001, in Sun City, Ariz., of cancer. She was a teacher in School District 11 and a co-founder of Get Set Program at First Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Dick was born Nov. 24, 1923, in Inman, Kan., to Mary and C.M. Toews, who are deceased. She was married June 23, 1946, to Eugene C. Dick.

She is survived by her husband; a son, John F. Dick, and a daughter-in-law, Aimee Martz Dick, of Woodland Park; a daughter, Jan C. Dick, of Nashville, Tenn.; and a sister, Virginia Stucky, of St. Paul, Minn.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Faith Presbyterian Church, 16000 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Disaster Service, 1018 Main St., Akron, Pa. 17501.

NORMAN ELDON PETTY

Mr. Petty, 70, died June 1, 2001, at a local hospital. He was a teacher and also worked for KXXX radio station in Colby and Goodland, Kan., where he was known as "The Golden Voice of the Plains, " and KWYD radio station in Colorado Springs, where he was known as Don Hayes.

Mr. Petty was born May 16, 1931, in Wichita, Kan., to E.R. and Wava (Jackson) Petty, who are deceased. He was married May 25, 1956, to Vetha Y. Barnes.

He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Yvonne Short, Yolanda Kelso, Teresa Graham and Victoria Stroud; a brother, Bruce; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Abigail Stroud and Claire Stroud.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pikes Peak Christian Church, 4955 Bradley Road, Security. Burial will be at Beulah Cemetery, Colby, Kan.

JOSEPH JOHN PICCIONE JR.

Mr. Piccione, 86, died June 1, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was an owner/operator of a beauty salon in Amityville, Long Island, N.Y., was an Institutional Representative of the Boy Scouts of America and a lifelong member and past president of The Lions Club.

Mr. Piccione was born July 25, 1914, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Joseph and Antoinette Piccione, who are deceased. He was married Feb. 19, 2000, to Bertha Holsipple.

He is survived by his wife; five sons, Joseph J. Piccione, Steven M. Hager, Robert S. Piccione, John Weaver and Howard K. Hager; three daughters, Frances Miller, Alice W. Parks and Antoinette McCloskey; a brother, Eddie; a sister, Lillie Patti; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, John.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Swan Law Cascade Chapel.
