RETIRED MASTER SGT. BOBBY B. WEBB

Retired Master Sgt. Bobby B. Webb, 63, died April 27, 2001, at his residence in Colorado Springs. He was a retired purchasing agent for El Paso County and served in the Army for 30 years, attaining the rank of master sergeant.

Mr. Webb was born May 15, 1937, in Goodwill, W. Va., to Joseph and Grace (Trigg) Clavtor. His father is deceased. He was married Feb. 15, 1962, to Margaret C. Thomas.

Mr. Webb is survived by his wife; his mother; two sons, Bobby Breen Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., and Langston T. of Denver; a daughter, Deborah A., of Hampton, Va.; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. Burial will be in Roanoke, Va.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, 825 E. Pikes Peak Ave., Suite 600, Colorado Springs 80903

HOMER MELVIN KNIPMEYER

Mr. Knipmeyer, 88, a former Colorado Springs resident, died April 27, 2001, in Marshall, Mo. He retired from Shepard's and was a farmer near Pittsfield, Ill., until 1962 and a member of Marshall First Church of the Nazarene.

Mr. Knipmeyer was born Jan. 14, 1913, in Warrenton, Mo., to Walter and Amelia (Reese) Knipmeyer, who are deceased. He was married March 4, 1934, to Florence Helene Frazier.

Mr. Knipmeyer is survived by his wife; a son, Dean, of Marshall; two daughters, Margaret Scott of Tempe, Ariz., and Sammy Cassel of Colorado Springs; a sister, Luella Britt; two brothers, Wilbert and Levi; a daughter-in-law, Renee Knipmeyer, of Marshall; a son-in-law, Ralph Scott, of Tempe; three sisters-in-law, Verna, Myrtle and Mary; 13 grandchildren, Mark Knipmeyer, Janey Knipmeyer, Brian Knipmeyer, Tonia Knipmeyer, Kristen Langford, Chad Langford, Jeanie Vogal, Tim Vogal, Janet Sawyer, Rob Sawyer, Robin Barrett, Kelli Edwards and Bruce Edwards; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Melvin and Marvin; and three brothers, Merrill, Verdell and Phillip.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shrine of Remembrance "America The Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road.

BLAINE JOSEPH STEELE

Blaine, 17, died April 26, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was a student at Coronado High School and employed part time by Subway Restaurant. He was well loved and was a representative of his junior class.

Blaine was born Jan. 24, 1984, in Mesa, Ariz., to Ella R. and Mark J. Petta.

He is survived by his parents; four brothers, Richard Steele, Paul Petta, Randall Petta and Brian Petta; his grandparents, Joseph and Dorothy Petta; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Russell K. and Donna J. Steele.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Old Broadmoor Road. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

BEULAH ROGERS BELL

Mrs. Bell, 81, died April 25, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a retired health-care giver.

Mrs. Bell was born Dec. 25, 1919, in Upper Darby, Pa., to Emanuel and Marylou (Fisher) Booker, who are deceased. She was married to James Noah Bell, who is deceased.

She is survived by a daughter, Josephine Ingrid Calhoun; two sisters, Mildred S. Graham and Rose E. Jefferson; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hillside Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 819 E. Vermijo Ave. Oscar Holmes will officiate the service. Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, is handling arrangements.

MELISSA MILES

Melissa, 16, died April 26, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a student at Sand Creek High School and a hostess at the Texas Roadhouse Cafe.

Melissa was born Nov. 14, 1984, in Wiesbaden, Germany, to Michael J. and Erin K. (Walstrom) Miles.

She is survived by her parents; a brother, Ryan; a sister Amber; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Visitation will also be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Community Center Chapel, Air Force Academy, followed by services at 10:30 a.m. at Community Center Chapel. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

ELIZABETH B. GAGE

Mrs. Gage, 100, died April 15, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Gage was born Dec. 18, 1900, in Rochester, N.Y., to Albert Cunningham and Anne (Dransfield) Bell, who are deceased. She was married May 10, 1923, to John Kellogg Gage, who is deceased.

She is survived by two sons, John Kellogg and Donald Shepard; two daughters-in-law, Mary Jane and Jean; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church, 219 E. Bijou St., followed by a reception at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at Grand Hill Cemetery, Palatine, Ill. Cappadona's Alternative Funeral Service, 3407 N. El Paso St., 520-1817, is handling arrangements.

ELANORE (BACKUS) HURLBURT

Mrs. Hurlburt, 93, a former Colorado Springs resident, died April 27, 2001, in Radford, Va. She was a high school teacher for five years, Sunday school teacher for 40 years and a minister of visitation at First Baptist Church in Ca�on City.

Mrs. Hurlburt was born Sept. 7, 1907, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Dr. Wesley and Frances Backus, who are deceased. She was married to the Rev. Ward B. Hurlburt, who is deceased.

She is survived by a son, Dr. Ward B. of Seattle; a daughter, Bonnie of Radford; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitations will be from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Hurlburt Chapel, 317 E. Kiowa St. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, followed by graveside services at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave. De-Vilbiss Funeral Home, 1200 Grove Ave., Radford, (540) 639-2422, is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the youth ministry at a church of giver's choice.

DANIEL EUGENE BRAND

Mr. Brand, 73, a lifelong Colorado Springs resident, died April 26, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was a retired teacher and also worked at La'Chemere Gift Shop in Manitou Springs for many years. He also served in the Navy for 13 years, attaining the rank of seaman first class.

Mr. Brand was born July 2, 1927, in Colorado Springs, to Atlee D. and Mary (Massengill) Brand, who are deceased.

He is survived by a brother, John Mackey of Colorado; and five sisters, Mertie Robb of Westminster, Helen Spencer of Utah, Nancy Peeler of Indiana, Janet Wright of Missouri and Berna Seamans of Colorado.

Visitations will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Blunt Mortuary, 2229 W. Colorado Ave., 634-8831. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Blunt Mortuary. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, 1000 S. 26th St.

URBAN WILLIAM KLOCK

Mr. Klock, 86, died April 26, 2001, at a local care center. He was a retired meat packer.

Mr. Klock was born Dec. 8, 1914, in Cincinnati. He was married Oct. 7, 1949, to Garnette Cloud, who is deceased.

He is survived by a son, Robert Leslie; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Dove-Witt Fountain Valley Chapel, 6630 S. U.S. Highway 85/87, Fountain, 390-4906. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Security Church of the Nazarene, 800 Hackberry Drive, Security. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, 757 S. Santa Fe Ave., Fountain.

FLOYD D. SMITH

Mr. Smith, 69, a Security resident, died April 24, 2001, at a local hospital. He served in the Army from 1951 to 1981, retired as chief warrant officer 4.

Mr. Smith was born April 22, 1932, in Stonewall, Ga., to Mose and Rosa (Gregory) Smith, who are deceased. He was married Sept. 20, 1953, to Lucille Bradley.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Harold; two daughters, Christa Lilly and Lisa Smith; a brother, Lonnie; two sisters, Annie M. Hornsby and Lula B. Cox; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Adolphus and Andrew.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. U.S. Highway 85/87, Fountain, 390-4906. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 5485 Alegre Circle, Fountain and 2 p.m. Friday at Enon Baptist Church, 3570 Stonewall Tall Road, College Park, Ga., with full military honors. Burial will be at 2 p.m. May 8 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver.

ANNA MARIE KNAUF

Mrs. Knauf, 90, died April 26, 2001, at a local care center. She was retired from food service at Benet Hill Monastery.

Mrs. Knauf was born Sept. 13, 1910, in Muenster, Texas, to Joseph and Margaret (Yosten) Swirczynski, who are deceased. She was married July 6, 1931, to Alex A. Knauf, who is deceased.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry of Colorado Springs and Alvin of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; four daughters, Carlene Church of Colorado Springs, Loretta Knauf of Denver, Maxine Martinez of Colorado Springs and Rosemary Haley of Colorado Springs; two brothers, George Swirczynski and Ed Swirczynski; three sisters, Rita Towsend, Sister Helen, O.S.B., and Catherine Erpelding; 20 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, David, Donald and Steven; and nine brothers.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday at Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Nolan Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2318 N. Cascade Ave. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

LINDA L. DUNN

Linda, 53, died April 21, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a house mother.

Linda was born June 18, 1947, in Grand Junction.

She is survived by two sons, Jason Weyant and Ben Weyant.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Gardens Chapel, 3825 Airport Road. After the service, burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave. Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-7991, is handling arrangements.

RETIRED CHIEF MASTER SGT. GEORGE M. KLAPAC

Mr. Klapac, 60, died April 27, 2001, at home in Colorado Springs. He was a realtor and also retired from the Air Force after 30 years of service, attaining the rank of chief master sergeant.

Mr. Klapac was born June 17, 1940, in Coaldale, Pa., to George Michael and Ursula Marie (Bugey) Klapac. His father is deceased. He was married Oct. 12, 1965, to Erika Christa Wisch.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Klaus Dieter and George Michael III; his mother; a daughter-in-law, Jerri; two brothers, John L. and Paul J.; a sister, Eleanor Kelly; close friend, Kimi Cook; and a granddaughter, Jazmen.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. Services, with full military honors, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. Private burial will be held after services.
