CYNTHIA ANNE ENGLE

Mrs. Engle, 53, died April 23, 2001, in Penrose. She was a payroll supervisor at Penrose Hospital.

Mrs. Engle was born July 25, 1947, in Colorado Springs to Albert and Margaret Light, who are deceased. She was married July 15, 1966, to Charles E. Engle.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Timothy and Eugene, both of Colorado Springs; a daughter-in-law, Heather of Colorado Springs; and her in-laws, Elmer F. and Dorothy M.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608. A Mass will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2318 N. Cascade Ave. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

CHET COLTEN

Chet, 17, died April 22, 2001, in Colorado Springs, a victim of homicide. He was a roofer by trade.

Chet was born Dec. 27, 1983, in San Bernardino, Calif., to Donald and Dana Colten.

He is survived by his parents; three brothers, Ben, Jack and Kenneth; three sisters, Dawn, Tessa and Jill; and his special friend, Lisa Dail.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Angelus Funeral Directors, 2535 Airport Road, 391-1918. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Victory World Outreach Ministries, 3150 S. Academy Blvd. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

MARY LUELLA BENSON

Mrs. Benson, 86, died April 20, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Benson was born April 13, 1915, in Ichofu, China, to Roy and Edith (Early) Allison, who are deceased. She was married July 21, 1939, to Ted Benson, who is deceased.

She is survived by seven sons, Jim, Ken, Tedd, Tom, David, Tim and Sam; three daughters, Betsie Weil, Marilyn Taggart and Marta Quiller; two brothers, Clyde Allison and David Allison; a sister, Lois Guber; and 19 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Steve; and a brother, Ray Allison.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church chapel, 420 N. Nevada Ave., with a reception afterward at the church. Inurnment will be at First United Methodist Church. Cappadona's Alternative Funeral Service, 3407 N. El Paso St., 520-1817, is handling arrangements.

OBEN ALTON STUCKEY

Mr. Stuckey, 70, died April 19, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was a self-employed property owner. He also served in the Army for 21 years.

Mr. Stuckey was born Feb. 10, 1931, in Noma, Fla., to Alto and Gertrude Stuckey, who are deceased. He was married Sept. 17, 1964, to Kang Soon Lan.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Nora Andrews; a brother, Paul; and a sister, Dorothy Sue Reid.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., 475-8303. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

LORETTA S. BURRIGHT

Mrs. Burright, 68, died April 20, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a secretary for School District 11 for 25 years and an organist at Village Christian Church for 37 years.

Mrs. Burright was born May 14, 1932, in Madison, S.D., to Clinton Stanley and Ethel Gertrude (Tystad) Shinkle. Her father is deceased. She was married Aug. 26, 1951, to Howard M. Burright.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, Gregory "Greg, " Timothy "Tim, " and Philip "Phil"; four daughters, Rebecca "Becky" Burright, Gwendolyn "Gwen" Winter, Priscilla "Cilla" Huenink, and Jill Patterson; her mother; a brother, Clinton Shinkle; a sister, Gayla Tiedemann; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Village Christian Church, 3113 Primrose Drive, with a reception afterward at the church. Burial will be in Iowa. Cappadona's Alternative Funeral Service, 3407 N. El Paso St., 520-1817, is handling arrangements.

EMERY A. LEPINE

Mr. Lepine, 80, died April 20, 2001, at home in Colorado Springs. He retired as a civil engineering technician from federal civil service. He also retired from the Air Force after attaining the rank of major.

Mr. Lepine was born April 20, 1921, in Quebec, Canada, to Elphege and Helena Lepine, who are deceased. He was married Jan 15, 1943, to Dorothy Laura LaFreniere, who is deceased.

He is survived by three sons, Charles, Emery A.J., and Stephen; four daughters, Ellen Cesarone, Cheryl Wheeler, Laurel Miller and Celeste Putt; a brother, Clement; three sisters, Alice Garrity, Claire Kukla and Mary Jane Beaupre; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 2650 Parish View. Cremation will be handled by Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900.

RETIRED CW2 THOMAS L. TAMBLINGSON

Mr. Tamblingson, 58, died April 17, 2001, at a local hospital. He was a local Realtor for six years and with the El Paso County Sheriffs Department for five years. He retired from the Army after 20 years of service.

Mr. Tamblingson was born July 3, 1942, in Watertown, Wis., to Alonzo and Ester Tamblingson, who are deceased. He was married June 10, 1961, to Sally J. Klettke.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Lloyd; two daughters, Lisa Heffelfinger and Gwen Abadie; a sister, Roberta Halbrader; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Soldiers Memorial Chapel, Fort Carson.

Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. U.S. Highway 85/87, Fountain, 390-4906, is handling cremation.

RICHARD A. BLANKENFELD

Mr. Blankenfeld, 66, a former Colorado Springs resident, died April 20, 2001, in Alamogordo, N.M. of cancer. He was retired from the Corps of Engineers after 38 years.

Mr. Blankenfeld was born Jan. 14, 1935, in Niobrara, Neb., to Robert Blankenfeld and Emma Tiedtke, who are deceased. He was married to Hazel E. Swanson.

He is survived by his wife; seven sons, Craig of Rapid City, S.D., Douglas of Denver; Greg of Las Vegas; Chris of Colorado Springs; Bill of Jenkins, Minn., Chuck of Neenah, Wis., and Mark of Green Bay, Wis.; a daughter, Annie Haglund of Colorado Springs; a brother, Robert of Denver; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. Inurnment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd.

TERRY ELDON HARRIS

Mr. Harris, 51, died April 19, 2001, at home in Peyton. He was a property manager for Lockheed Martin. He also served in the Navy for four years.

Mr. Harris was born Sept 12, 1949, in Hays, Kan., to Kenneth Eugene and Mabel Ellen (Owen) Harris, of Bogue, Kan.

He is survived by his parents; a sister, Sandy Sherrod of Orlando, Fla.; four nephews, and many relatives and friends.

Visitations will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Spencer-Stinemetz Chapel of Hill City, 522 N. Pomeroy, Hill City, Kan., (785) 421-2177. Visitations also will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday at Hill City Church of God, Hill City, followed by memorial services at Hill City Church of God.

RETIRED LT. COL. WILLIAM L. NICKS

Lt. Col. Nicks, 67, died April 20, 2001, at his home in Colorado Springs. He retired from the Air Force after 28 years of service. He was a Vietnam veteran.

Lt. Col. Nicks was born Dec. 14, 1933, in Albuquerque, N.M., to William L. and Anna R. (Gallaher) Nicks, who are deceased. He was married Aug. 6, 1954, to Betty Jane Morton.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Denise Conder, Rhonda Delony and Keri Kelley; a brother, James R.; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road.

WILLIAM A. "BILL" LAWRENCE

Mr. Lawrence, 82, died April 16, 2001, at Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He retired as chief warrant officer from the Army after more than 20 years of service.

Mr. Lawrence was born March 17, 1919, in West Frankfort, Ill., to Hosea Drew and Gladys (Choate) Lawrence, who are deceased. He was married April 1, 1940, to Maxine L. Yates.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Rodney Drew; a daughter, Glenda Newlin; three sisters, Naomi Lawrence, Margaret Williams and Faye Swigart; and two grandchildren.

Private viewing will be at 9-10 a.m. Monday at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. U.S. Highway 85/87, Fountain, 390-4906. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver. Dove-Witt is handling arrangements.

FRED A. HOFFMAN

Mr. Hoffman, 79, died April 12, 2001, at his winter home in Sun City, Ariz. He served in the Army during World War II. He retired from Amoco Oil and was president of Hoffman Distributing, an oil and gas distributorship. He was past president of North End Rotary Club, a past member of the El Paso Club, a member of the Sun City Lakes Club, Sun City Computer Club and First United Methodist Church in Colorado Springs. He graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School and was a graduate of Colorado College.

Mr. Hoffman was born Dec. 11, 1921, in Cashion, Okla., to Roy L. and Hazel A. (Cronkite) Hoffman, who are deceased. He was married June 2, 1947, in Colorado Springs, to Betty Brown.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Susan Gilliland, of Colorado Springs; a son-in-law, Mike Gilliland, of Colorado Springs; a sister, Audralee Holland, of Colorado Springs; and a grandson, Ryan Gilliland, of Colorado Springs. He was preceded in death by a son, Fred A. Hoffman II, who was killed March 3, 1991, in the United Airlines crash in Widefield.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. May 8 at First United Methodist Church, 420 N. Nevada Ave. Inurnment will be at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. Best Funeral Services, 9380 W. Peoria Ave., Peoria, Ariz., (623) 486-1955, is handling arrangements.

LEONARD W. BOYD SR.

Mr. Boyd, 96, died April 20, 2001, at a local care center. He retired as a switchman from Milwaukee Railroad.

Mr. Boyd was born March 25, 1905, in Union Star, Mo., to Walter M. and Della Phene (Raines) Boyd, who are deceased. He was married June 21, 1924, to Mildred Minshall, who is deceased.

He is survived by five sons, Leonard Jr., David K., Nathaniel, John and Reuben; two daughters, Rachel Boyd and Barbara Gregory; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Baker and Della Pauline Boyd; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Church, 917 S. 25th St. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, 1000 S. 26th St.
