MARY HELEN McKISSICK

Mrs. McKissick, 72, died April 5, 2001, at her home in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker and previously employed with Mountain Bell in Colorado Springs.

Mrs. McKissick was born June 30, 1928, in Meridian, Miss., to James Seth and Mandell (Campbell) Cobb, who are deceased. She was married to Cecil J. McKissick, who is deceased.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandi Schell; a brother, Tom Lyle Cobb; three sisters, Dell Detherage, Erma Siemon and Pauline Sorabella; a granddaughter, Melissa Gail Cherry; and a great-grandson, Scott Cherry. She was preceded in death by five brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Swan Law Funeral Directors. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, 1000 S. 26th St.

JUANITA C. GASTON

Mrs. Gaston, 80, died April 3, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Gaston was born April 15, 1920, in Sweetwater, Texas, to Charles Chitwood and Mary N. (Flynn) Chitwood Kaye Bailey, who are deceased. She was married Nov. 12, 1946, to John L. Gaston.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Samuel Ronald and Gary Stuart; two daughters, Carolyn Hanan Goldberg and Kathy Maureen Gaston; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Memorial Gardens Chapel, 3825 Airport Road. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-7991, is handling arrangements.

EDNA McKINNEY

Mrs. McKinney, 68, a Divide resident, died April 4, 2001, at a local hospital. She was a beautician.

Mrs. McKinney was born May 11, 1932, in Terre Haute, Ind., to Ralph and Lela (Myers) Hart, who are deceased. She was married Oct. 18, 1953, to Samuel R. McKinney.

She is survived by her husband; and a son, Michael J. of Colorado Springs. She was preceded in death by two sons, Morris and Brian.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m April 16 at Mountain Memorial Services, 51 County Road 5, Divide, 687-0333.

Inurnment will be at Mountain Wilderness Memorial Park, Woodland Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the giver's choice.

EVELYN C. BROWNING

Mrs. Browning, 87, died April 6, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Browning was born Dec. 13, 1913, in Nortonville, Kan., to Joseph Lawrence and Susan Gertrude (Lucius) Weishaar, who are deceased. She was married May 30, 1939, to Edward V. Browning, who is deceased.

She is survived by four sons, Larry E., Kenneth A., Robert L. and James S.; a brother, Pike Weishaar; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan A. Leach; and 12 brothers and sisters.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2318 N. Cascade Ave. Burial will be private. Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608, is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the giver's choice.

EDITH MEREDITH REYNOLDS

Miss Reynolds, 95, died April 5, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was an LPN.

Miss Reynolds was born May 20, 1905, in Lancaster County, Neb., to Aretas and Hattie Piper Reynolds, who are deceased.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cedarwood Care Center, 924 W. Kiowa St.

Inurnment will be at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, Md.

Blunt Mortuary, 2229 W. Colorado Ave., 634-8831, is handling arrangements.

FRANK JONES JR.

Mr. Jones, 74, died April 4, 2001, at a local hospital. He served in the Army from 1945 to 1950 and as an aircraft inspector in the Air Force from 1953 to 1972. He retired as a civil engineer from civil service.

Mr. Jones was born Feb. 27, 1927, in Culpeper, Va., to Frank and Dorothy (Lacey) Jones, who are deceased. He was married Nov. 20, 1955, in Mount Calm, Texas, to Billie Jean Searcy.

He is survived by his wife; three brothers, Howard Lee, Earl and Hunterman; two sisters, Dorothy Elizabeth Rose and Genevieve Holt; and an aunt, Lucy.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, William Henry, James Douglas and Joe Louis; and a sister, Emma Johnson.

Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. Entombment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Chapel Mausoleum.

RETIRED COL. HAROLD DAVID WILSON

Col. Wilson, 68, died April 3, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He served in the Air Force for 26 years, retiring as a pilot.

Col. Wilson was born Jan. 7, 1933, in Burlington, Kan., to Harold E. and Wilda (McKay) Wilson, who are deceased.

He is survived by a son, David M.; a daughter, Susan Clothier; a son-in-law, Dr. Peter Clothier; a daughter-in-law, Jane; a sister, Jeanne Casmaer; a brother-in-law, Richard Casmaer; and three granddaughters, Emma Clothier, Ann Wilson and Sara Wilson.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Air Force Academy Community Center Chapel. Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, is handling cremation.

LILLIAN PAINE

Mrs. Paine, 94, died April 5, 2001, at a local care center. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Paine was born Nov. 8, 1906, in St. Louis to Elias B. and Mary Harriet (Miller) Gabbert, who are deceased. She was married to Edward V. Paine, who is deceased.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Dorothy Gabbert; a nephew, Michael Gabbert; and two nieces, Barbara Courtney and Patricia Sipes.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral, 22 W. Kiowa St.

Burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver.

Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608, is handling arrangements.

PHILIP P. FRUCCI

Mr. Frucci, 48, died April 3, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was self-employed.

Mr. Frucci was born March 12, 1953, in Hempstead, N.Y., to Peter and Luella (Welland) Frucci. His father is deceased.

He is survived by his mother; a sister, Adrienne; an aunt, Evelyn Keller; and several cousins.

Private family services will be held. Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, is handling cremation.

EVANGELINA VIGIL

Mrs. Vigil, 88, a longtime Colorado Springs resident, died April 2, 2001, in Pomona, Calif., of cancer. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Widefield and the Catholic Daughters.

She is survived by her husband, Damacio Vigil; three sons, Dale of Las Vegas, Floyd of Salt Lake City and Leroy of Pomona; four daughters, Mary Roybal of Cheyenne, Wyo., Rose Vigil of Widefield, Geraldine Smith of Las Vegas and Elaine Graves of Clarkston, Wash.; a brother, Arthur, of Colorado Springs; 36 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Manuel, Gilbert and Robert.

Services will be at St. Laurence O'Toole Catholic Church, Laramie, Wyo. Buck-Heggie, 311 S. 21st St., Laramie, (307) 742-0042, is handling arrangements.

PHILLIP B. TINNEY

Mr. Tinney, 85, died April 3, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was a teacher for School District 11 and served in the Army during World War II.

Mr. Tinney was born March 23, 1916, in Marysville, Mo., to the Rev. William Ellsworth and Linnie Claire (Darling) Tinney, who are deceased. He was married Aug. 3, 1940, to Jean Louise Wilson.

He is survived by his wife; and a nephew, Dr. Paul D. Tenney. He was preceded in death by two brothers; and two sisters.

No services are planned. Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, is handling cremation.

BLUE DANIEL KARTAK

Mr. Kartak, 21, died April 2, 2001, at his home in Fountain. He was a mover for Moving Day.

Mr. Kartak was born March 2, 1980, in Port Angeles, Wash. He was married Feb. 19, 1999, to Anna Marie Thompson.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Alayna Mae; his mother, Lori Mae Uncapher; his father, Peter T. Kartak; and two sisters, Katie Uncapher and Eliana Kartak.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today with services at 6:30 p.m. at Dove-Witt Fountain Valley Chapel, 6630 S. U.S. Highway 85/87, Fountain, 390-4906. Cremation is planned.

CARLOS G. GORTARIZ

Mr. Gortariz, 82, died April 3, 2001, at a local care center. He retired as a heavy-equipment mechanic and served in the Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945.

Mr. Gortariz was born July 8, 1918, in Tempe, Ariz., to Carlos and Carmel (Gatos) Gortariz, who are deceased. He was married Nov. 7, 1942, to Margaret Alirez, who is deceased.

He is survived by two sons, Leroy and Tony; a daughter, Roberta Livie; a son-in-law, Brian Livie; a grandson, Vincent Livie; and a granddaughter, Vanessa Livie. He was preceded in death by a son, Carlos Jr.

Private family services have been held. Burial will be private. Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608, is handling arrangements.
