Gilbert 'Gil' Richard Blea

Gilbert "Gil" Richard Blea, of Longmont, died of cancer Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, at HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties Center, in Louisville. He was 62.
The son of Moises and Soledad Aragon Blea, he was born May 6, 1943, in Dalhart, Texas. He married Betty Gordon on Nov. 21, 1964, in Denver.
Mr. Blea moved to Longmont in 1970.
Mr. Blea received his master's degree from the University of Northern Colorado. He taught industrial arts in the Boulder Valley School District at many schools, including Boulder and Broomfield high schools and Angevine, Southern Hills, Casey and Baseline middle schools. He retired in 1994.
Mr. Blea was an avid outdoorsman who appreciated nature and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
"Gil was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who cherished every moment he could spend with his family, especially his three grandchildren, " his family said. "He was a friendly, kind and generous person who was always willing to lend a helping hand."
Survivors include his wife, of Longmont; his daughter, Melanie Oliver, of Longmont; a son, Wendell Blea, of Longmont; a brother, Celso Blea, of Tucumcari, N.M.; three sisters, Judy Garcia, of Amarillo, Texas, Nora Anaya, of Tucumcari, and Lisa Welch, of Bonne Terre, Mo.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman St., Longmont. Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1335 Francis St., Longmont. Pastor Kent Schnegelberger will officiate.

Everett L. Peterson
Jan. 18, 1928 - Jan. 28, 2006
Everett L. Peterson, of Longmont, died of natural causes Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, in Boulder. He was 78.
The son of Frank Peterson and Emma Grey Peterson, he was born Jan. 18, 1928, in Hampton, Ill. He married Pauline Cook on July 18, 1947, in Moline, Ill.
Mr. Peterson moved to Longmont in 1967.
He graduated from high school in 1945 and served in the U.S. Navy until 1947.
He worked as a tool- and die-maker for 50 years, the last 24 of which were at IBM in Boulder. He retired in 1991.
A member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Longmont, Mr. Peterson enjoyed collecting and repairing clocks, refinishing furniture and antiquing with his wife.
"His love of God, his wife and his family were the driving forces in his life, " his family said.
Survivors include his wife, of Longmont; a son, Steven L. Peterson, of Missoula, Mont.; two daughters, Susan L. Eubanks, of Houston, and Amy VonEschen, of Boulder; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1335 Francis St., Longmont. The Rev. Kent Schnegelberger will officiate.

Claudette Ackerson, of Lafayette, died of natural causes Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, at Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette. She was 65.
The daughter of George W. Lybarger and Nadine L. Kellett Lybarger, she was born Aug. 20, 1940, in Monarch.
Ms. Ackerson was a lifelong resident of Lafayette.
Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Sharp, of Lafayette; a sister, Barbara Lybarger, of Cortez; two brothers, Eddie Lybarger, of Erie, and Glenn Lybarger, of Littleton; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, George S. Lybarger.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Avalon Funeral Home, 1320 Centaur Village Drive, Lafayette.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Avalon Funeral Home. The Rev. Daryl Meyers will officiate. Interment will follow at Lafayette Cemetery, 111 Baseline Road.
Pauline A. Trustman

Pauline A. Trustman, of Boulder, died of natural causes Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, at her home. She was 79.
The daughter of Elias G. Trustman and Marie Hull Trustman, she was born Dec. 30, 1926, in Cincinnati.
Ms. Trustman moved to Boulder in 1965.
A graduate of the University of Colorado, where she earned a degree in communications, she worked as a medical secretary for 12 years and at the Boulder County Department of Social Services.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Boulder and of Daughters of the King.
She studied piano for 17 years with Baron Eduard Von Sleck, of Austria.
"Mom was a very talented pianist whose shyness prevented her from sharing her talent with the world, " her family said. "She was loved by many, especially by her daughters, and will be deeply missed."
Survivors include two daughters, Marcia Lynn Whitaker, of Tampa, Fla., and Jill Marie Bald, of Safety Harbor, Fla.; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Episcopal Church, 1419 Pine St., Boulder. Interment will follow at the Columbarium at St. John's.

Fred L. Ditzel

Fred L. Ditzel, of Boulder, died of natural causes Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, in Boulder. He was 90.
The son of Fritz L. Ditzel and Margrethe Amanda Olsen Ditzel, he was born Aug. 19, 1915, in Boulder. He married Lucille H. Gallagher on June 10, 1946, in Boulder. She died.
Mr. Ditzel was a lifelong resident of Boulder.
An employee of the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years, Mr. Ditzel also worked for Howe Mortuary, of Boulder. He served as a chief warrant officer in the U.S. Navy for 10 years and received the Purple Heart.
Mr. Ditzel was a lifetime member of the Boulder Elks Lodge #566, the Boulder Masonic Lodge #45 for more than 50 years and of the Pleasant View and Left Hand granges for 50 years.
Survivors include a son, Howard A. Ditzel, of Boulder; and a daughter, Shirley M. Schaller, of Boulder.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a sister, Margaret; and two brothers, Charles and John.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Green Mountain Cemetery mausoleum, 290 20th St., Boulder. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Green Mountain Cemetery. The Rev. John Hess will officiate.

Malcolm A. "Mal" Deans, of Boulder, died Thursday of pancreatic cancer. He was 83. Funeral services will be private. A celebration of his life will be held in late January. Phyllis J. Allen

Phyllis J. Allen, of Broomfield, died after an extended illness Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, in Westminster. She was 73.
The daughter of Fred Haller and Ruth Sparks Haller Burns, she was born Sept. 6, 1932, in Genoa. She married Jack Allen on July 30, 1954, in Lafayette.
Mrs. Allen moved to Lafayette in 1945 and to Broomfield in 1962.
She graduated from high school in Lafayette and worked for the U.S. Postal Service.
She enjoyed traveling and crocheting.
She was the "world's best mom and grandma and will be missed, " her family said.
Survivors include two daughters, Penny Duncan, of Thornton, and Debbie Herman, of Craig; a son, David Allen, of Thornton; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Howe Mortuary Chapel, 1701 W. South Boulder Road, Lafayette. The Rev. Billy R. Hamm will officiate.

Blanche Corbman, of Boulder, died of natural causes Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, in Boulder. She was 87.
The daughter of Max Levinson and Fannie Levinson, she was born July 28, 1918, in New Britain, Conn.
Ms. Corbman moved to Boulder in July 1988.
She worked as a branch manager at Yorkwood Savings & Loan.
She was a member of Boulder County Professional Women's Association and Boulder County Newcomers Club, and was active in New Jersey Democratic politics and women's social issues.
"Blanche loved her family and friends deeply and will be remembered by those she touched throughout her life, " her family said.
Survivors include a son, Roger Corbman; a brother, Saul Levinson; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Corbman; and a sister, Evelyn Shulman.
A memorial servicewill be at 6 p.m. Monday at Crist Mortuary Chapel, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder.

Michelle Mary Bilstein

Michelle Mary Bilstein, of Boulder, died of cancer Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, at her home. She was 63.
The daughter of Laurent Dupont and Mary Frederick Dupont, she was born Oct. 28, 1942, in Minneapolis. She married Robert "Biff" Bilstein on June 27, 1970, in Minneapolis.
Mrs. Bilstein moved to Boulder in 1970.
She graduated from St. Margaret's Academy in Minneapolis and attended the University of Minnesota. She was a homemaker, but previously worked at Boulder National Bank and Boulder Enterprise.
Mrs. Bilstein was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church and of the Boulder Country Club.
A "fitness buff, " she enjoyed skiing, golf, aerobics, Pilates and the piano.
Survivors include her husband, of Boulder; her mother, of Hopkins, Minn.; two brothers, Larry Dupont, of Brunswick, Ga., and Dennis Dupont, of Shoreview, Minn.; and two sisters, Suzanne Thompson, of Silver Spring, Md., and Mary Kaye Tuttle, of Edina, Minn.
A rosary will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, followed by a Mass of Christian burial, at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6739 South Boulder Road, Boulder. Interment will follow at the church's cemetery. Immediately following the services, a reception will be at Boulder County Club, 7350 Clubhouse Road, Boulder.
