Lee E. Teegarden

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Nellie Bechtel’s Clubhouse in Grand Junction, Colo., for Lee E. Teegarden, who died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at his home in Grand Junction after a long period of heart problems. He was 74.

Mr. Teegarden was born Oct. 10, 1926. He was a former resident of Durango and Boulder, Colo. He was a lifetime member of the Masons, Elks and National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his wife, Betty J. of Grand Junction; and two daughters, Kathy Rose and Gayle Ramos, both of Grand Junction.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Grand Valley, P.O. Box 60307, Grand Junction, CO 81501.

Wallola G.L. Stutzer

Wallola G. L. Stutzer died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at her home in Durango. She was 91.

The cause of death was not disclosed.

Mrs. Stutzer was born July 24, 1909. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1966.

Mrs. Stutzer is survived by her son, David J. Stutzer of Durango.

A private service will be held at Hood Mortuary. Burial will be at Crestview Memorial Gardens.

Helene Warren

A memorial mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Columba Catholic Church for Helene Warren, a lifelong Durango resident, who died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000 at Mercy Medical Center. She was 67.

The cause of death was not disclosed.

Father Mike McCleary will officiate at services. Visitation will be from noon to 8:30 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at Hood Mortuary. There will be cremation at Hood Mortuary.

Mrs. Warren was born Aug. 12, 1933 in Durango; she had a twin sister named Geraldine. Mrs. Warren married Wallace L. Warren on April 23, 1954, in Durango.

Mrs. Warren enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and reading.

She is survived by her husband, Wallace "Wally" of Durango; three daughters, Cynthia Roberts of Highland Ranch, Colo., and Lisa Johnson and Ellen Iaquinto of Seattle; a son, Gerald Warren of Durango; and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3801 N. Main Ave., Durango, CO 81301.

Carl E. Fisher

Private family services are planned for Carl E. Fisher, who died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000. He was 88.

Mr. Fisher was born in 1912 in Ferndale, Mich. He was a resident of Dolores and Clearwater, Fla.

Mr. Fisher moved to Florida at age 6, where he attended school. He graduated from Clearwater High School.

Mr. Fisher then moved back to Michigan, where he received a master’s degree in chemistry and pharmacy from Wayne State University. He was a lieutenant in the Navy during World War II and then a manufacturing chemist until retiring to the Dolores area in 1975.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine; four daughters, Susie Honeycutt of Dolores, Jan Redwood of Mancos, Jo Thorlin of Andover, Mass., and Helen Marrullier of Clearwater, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Dolores Senior Center.

Beatrice Marie Salazar

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Columba Catholic Church for Beatrice Marie Salazar, who died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center. She was 92.

The cause of death was not disclosed.

The Rev. Mike McCleary will officiate. Burial will be at Greenmount Cemetery. A rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Hood Mortuary Chapel.

Mrs. Salazar was born Sept. 3, 1908, in Tierra Amarillo, N.M. She was a longtime resident of this area.

Mrs. Salazar enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for them. She was a member of the Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roque "Rocky" Salazar Feb. 20, 1985, and by two children, Joe Salazar and Juanita Ramirez.

Survivors include five sons, Alfonso Salazar of Apple Valley, Calif., Sylviano Salazar of Fresno, Calif., Dally Salazar of Salt Lake City, Utah, Ben "Bobby" Salazar of Crawley, Colo., Max Salazar of Alamosa, Colo.; two daughters, Mary Rippee of Hesperia, Calif., and Virginia Lopez of Durango; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Beatrice Salazar Memorial Fund, c/o the Ricky J. Lopez account at Wells Fargo Bank, P.O. Drawer K, Durango, CO 81302.

Lillian Holbrook Flynn

Lillian Holbrook Flynn died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at Four Corners Health Care Center. She was 87.

The cause of death was not disclosed.

Mrs. Flynn was born May 14, 1913, in Hollywood, Calif. She graduated from Pasadena City College, and was a member of the Shakespeare Juniors women’s club.

She married Daniel Flynn on Oct. 8, 1935, in Pasadena, Calif., where they lived until 1950 when they moved to Altadena and then to Laguna Beach in 1957.

Mrs. Flynn moved to Durango in 1981. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, artistic pursuits, politics and reading. She was a Girl Scout leader, and was actively involved with her children’s education.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel F. Flynn.

Survivors include a daughter, Rosemary Bird of Durango; a son, Patrick Flynn of Riverside, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Jennings Bird of Durango, Aidan Bird of Berkeley, Calif., Erin Cabrera of Venice, Calif., Danielle Soto, Bryan Standfest and Derek Flynn, all of Riverside, Calif., and Thomas Flynn of Redlands, Calif.; and two great-grand

Arleene LaLonde Zink

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church for Arleene LaLonde Zink, who died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000. She was 88.

The cause of death was not disclosed.

The Rev. Ned Amstutz will officiate. Burial will be at Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hood Mortuary.

Mrs. Zink was born April 29, 1912, in Colorado Springs. Her family came to Allison in 1917 then moved to the Animas Valley in 1925. She attended country schools at Trimble Springs and Hermosa and graduated from Durango High School in 1931.

In 1933, she married Albert Zink. They ran sheep and grew potatoes on their ranch in Hermosa.

After Mr. Zink’s death in 1964, Mrs. Zink went to work at Community Hospital in the housekeeping department where she worked for 17 years. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, Albert, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Nita and Sara Barry.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Herrera of Durango; a son, Jim Zink of Coos Bay, Ore.; nine grandchildren, Mary Jo Herrera, Margaret Conklin, Connie Barry, Martha Herrera, Richard Barry, Andy Herrera, Michael Barry, Taunya Zink and Shelbie Stevens; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, John LaLonde of Durango; a sister, Ethel Pringle of Big Springs, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Durango, 332 E. 11th St., Durango, CO 81301, or Four Corners Health Care Center, 2911 Junction St., Durango, CO 81301.

Lemuel Joseph 'Lem' Snow

Private memorial services will be held December 9 in Durango for Lemuel Joseph "Lem" Snow, who died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, in Florence, Colo., after an extended illness. He was 82.

Friends are invited to join the family in a celebration of his life at an open house that will follow from 2:30 to 5 p.m. in the Animas Valley Grange.

Mr. Snow was born June 27, 1918, in Seiling, Okla. In 1953, he moved his family from Blackwell, Okla., to the west Animas Valley, where they lived for the next 46 years. In September 1999, because of health reasons, it became necessary for Mr. Snow to move to a lower elevation.

Mr. Snow was very active in Durango, and owned and operated L&L Upholstery and Snow Village Mobile Home Park.

On July 16, 1938, he married Laura Josephine Ruggs.

Survivors include his wife, Laura; a son, Larry Snow of Newcastle, Calif.; two daughters, LaDonna Bellman of Durango and Linda Goff of Florence; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
