*** Lona “Ilene” Wood, 91, Paonia, died Feb. 12, 2008, at Paonia Care Center. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Paonia Taylor Funeral Service Chapel. Services will follow at 10 a.m.

Mrs. Wood was a homemaker.

*** Raymond “Chick” Robinson, 80, Grand Junction, died Feb. 13, 2008, at his home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.

Survivors include his wife, Arleta; five children, Carol Robinson of Denver; Annette Freeman of Rapid City, S.D.; Glen Robinson of Denver; Patrick Robinson of Glendale, Ariz.; and Connie Mullen of Parker; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

*** Mary I. Sasser, 83, Mesa County, died Feb. 13, 2008, at Hospice Care Center in Louisville. Private services will take place.

*** Beata L. Schmidt, 94, Grand Junction, died Feb. 6, 2008, at St. Mary’s Hospital. No services are planned.

Ms. Schmidt was an administrative officer for the government.

*** Jolene Diane Rowland Summers, 51, Grand Junction, died Feb. 13, 2008, at her brother’s home. Services will take place at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary chapel.

Ms. Summers was the project coordinator for a convention bureau.

Survivors include two sons, Andy Lynn Saddoris and Adam Lee Saddoris, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Jodi Lynne Summers of Las Vegas; four brothers, Ray Rowland and Bill Rash, both of Grand Junction, Mike Brooks of Carson City, Nev., and Jerry DeLisie of Pine; and five grandchildren.

*** Geneva M. Darnell, 87, Grand Junction, died Feb. 15, 2008, at her home. Visitation will be at 7 p.m. today at Martin Mortuary. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2542 G Road.

Mrs. Darnell was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Donald of Westcliffe and Michael of Heber City, Utah; two daughters, JoAnn Brennon of Burbank, Calif., and Linda Kay Hagen of Farmington, N.M.; two sisters, Cora Belle James of La Habra, Calif., and Eileen Bulla of Grand Junction; 21 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.

*** Glen Gesellman, 82, Clifton, died Feb. 8, 2008, at St. Mary’s Hospital. No services are planned.

Mr. Gesellman worked in construction.

*** Anna Kawchack, 88, Grand Junction, died Feb. 14, 2008, in Grand Junction. Services will be held at a later date in Craig.

Ms. Kawchack was a school teacher.

Survivors include five brothers, Dan Kawcak, Ivan Kawcak, Mike Kawcak and Paul Kawcak, all of Craig, and Robert Kawcak of Minden, Nev.; four sisters, Helen Hannah of Kingston, N.C., Janet Kawcak of Craig, Eva Robertson of Grand Junction and Alice Van Tassel of Greeley.

*** Former Palisade resident, Bernice Lorene Long, 92, Texas, died Feb. 11, 2008, in Texas. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Palisade.

Ms. Long was a homemaker.

Survivors include three sons, Bob of Rockport, Texas, Fred of Owasso, Okla., and Joe of Gunnison; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

*** Arthur M. Morris, 73, Grand Junction, died Feb. 9, 2008, in Grand Junction. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Martin Mortuary in Grand Junction.

Mr. Morris was a pilot car driver.

Survivors include two brothers, Ronald of Missouri and Harry of Oregon; one sister, Jeanie Morris of Oregon; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

*** Former Palisade resident William Elmer Funk, 92, Aspen, died Feb. 15, 2008, in Carbondale.

Services will be at noon Tuesday at the Snell-McLean Funeral Home in Palisade with burial to follow at Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Funk was a carpenter.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia; four daughters, Cynthia John of Toledo, Iowa, Kay Kuschel of Grand Rapids, Mich., Jeanne Flockhart of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Liz Johnson of Aspen; one brother, Leon of Dallas; two sisters, Christine Pettigrew of Fort Worth, Texas, and Lorene Jarrell of Cliton; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

*** Former Palisade resident Bernice Lorene Long, 92, of Texas, died Feb. 11, 2008, in Texas.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Palisade.

Mr. Olewnik was a chemical lab technician.

Survivors include his wife, Lucy R.; three daughters, Teresa Copeland of Dexter, Ore., Marie Olewnik of Wilmington, Del., and Dr. Ann B. Olewnik of Grand Junction; and three grandchildren.

*** Teresa Lynn Barlow, 48, Clifton, died Feb. 16, 2008, at her home. Private services will take place.

Mrs. Barlow worked in retail sales.

Survivors include her husband, Donald L. Graham; three daughters, Jennifer D. Stegman of Fountain, Jill R. Witt of Newton, Kan., and Ashley N. Kennedy of Beaumont, Calif.; her parents, Gene and Betty Barlow of Clifton; one sister, Laurie A. Barlow of Clifton; and six grandchildren.

*** Jennie Chiaro, 89, Grand Junction, died Feb. 15, 2008, at her home. Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Thursday at Callahan Edfast Mortuary. Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include three sons, Sonny and Jim, both of Grand Junction, and Larry of San Antonio; one daughter, Jackie Montoya of Grand Junction; one brother, Frank Cesario; one sister, Ginger Hart; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

*** Joe Kearl, 83, Grand Junction, died Feb. 15, 2008, at his home. Services will take place at a later date.

*** Former Rifle resident Tracy Lee Chinery, 9, Ames, Iowa, died Feb. 16, 2008, at the Iowa Children’s Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. Services will take place at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at the Olathe Cemetery.

Survivors include his parents, Colin and Mary Beth Chinery of Ames, Iowa, and Donna Aldridge of Grand Junction; three brothers, Thomas “Tommy,” and Torin, both of Ames, and Travis “TJ” Zigmond of LaVernia, Texas; two sisters, Tiffany Burch of Grand Junction, and Tessa Chinery of Sheridan, Wyo.; grandparents Ralph E. “Pat” III and Rita Patterson of Ames and Alvin Lawton of Craig; and great-grandmother, Beverly Patterson of Des Moines, Iowa.

*** Rolland L. Holt, 70, Paonia, died Feb. 18, 2008, at the Delta County Memorial Hospital. Services will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Paonia.

Mr. Holt was a grocer and a cattleman.

Survivors include his wife, Clara; four sons, Bill of Pueblo, Brad and Don, both of Paonia, and Patrick of Frederick; two daughters, Carri Brezonick of Seattle and Marsha Jackson of Paonia; two brothers, Deon of Paonia and Bob of Cory; one sister, Shirlea Boyden of Delta; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. McNay was head of maintenance at Mesa Mall.

*** Hugh F. Toney, 75, Whitewater, died Feb. 17, 2008, at St. Mary’s Hospital. Cremation will take place.

Mr. Toney was a heavy duty mechanic.

Visitation will take place at 6 tonight at the Delta Taylor Funeral Service chapel with rosary to follow at 7 p.m. Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Mesa View Cemetery in Delta.

Survivors include his wife, Chris; five sons, James, Donald, and Eddie, all of Delta, Anthony of Anton and Jerry of Pueblo; five daughters, Rosemary Diaz of Johnstown, Kathryn Arambulo of Colorado Springs, Christina Hernandez and JoAnn Abeyta, both of Delta, and Tammie Abeyta-Gonzalez of Eckert; three brothers, Joe Abeyta, and Guatalupe Abeyta, both of Delta, and Emilio Abeyta of Ogden, Utah; three sisters, Rosanna Abeyta and Lena Garcia, both of Delta, and Delfina Prieto of Ogden, Utah; 41 grandchildren; and 53 great-grandchildren.
