At his request, cremation has taken place on Tuesday, Feb. 25.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Rifle Fire Station, 1801 Railroad Ave., Rifle, Colo., at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28.

Larry was born on June 21, 1942, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Guy Jennings White and Gladys Edith (Hoxie) White.

He attended primary school in Rifle, Colo.; graduated from Douglas County High School in 1960.

Mr. White served his country in the Army National Guard (1964-1970), served his community in the Douglas County 4-H program, and as a member of the Douglas County Sheriff's Posse (1967-1972).

After moving to Montrose, Colo., in 1972 Larry was one of the founders of the Montrose Horse Racing Association.

He became a licensed electrician in 1972, and worked in that capacity for the remainder of his life.

He was a wonderful man and was loved as the brother, and sometimes father some never had, and always a dear friend.

During his time with us, he inspired us to think of what he might do or say in certain circumstances and now we must try to be as strong and courageous as he always was.

Through thick and thin, ups and downs, we never stopped loving him, and he us.

We have never met a harder-working man. We admired him for his strength, courage, wisdom, unconditional love and devotion to his family and are going to terribly miss him and his Ford-loving ways.

Arrangements are being handled under the direction of Callahan-Edfast Mortuary of Grand Junction, (970) 243-2450.
