Dorrinda “Dori” Magdaleno

Dorrinda “Dori” Magdaleno of Minatare, Neb., formerly of Erie, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at her home.
She was 48 years old.
Ms. Magdaleno was born April 13, 1956, to Philip and Deloris (Armijo) Martinez in Walsenburg.
On June 26, 1986, she married Alfred Magdaleno Jr. in Scottsbluff, Neb.
Ms. Magdaleno enjoyed dancing, laughing and spending time with her family.
She was an avid University of Nebraska Cornhuskers and Denver Broncos fan who enjoyed drinking the occasional Bud Light.
Ms. Magdaleno is survived by her husband, Alfred of Minatare, Neb.; two daughters, Andrea (Eric) Longoria of Minatare, Neb., and Bernadette (George) Amaya of El Dorado, Ark.; two sons, Armando Mata Jr. of Whitefish, Mont., and Nathan Magdaleno of Boulder; nine grandchildren, Anthony, Abigail, Xavier, Sabrina, Angelica, Dominic, Michael, Keianna and George III; her parents, Philip and Deloris of Erie; four brothers and three sisters, all of Colorado; and, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by Efrem, Bonny, Cory and Myra Martinez.
A recitation of the Rosary took place on Thursday, Dec. 16, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont.
The Rev. Robert Whipkey officiated.
A graveside service and interment followed on Friday, Dec. 17, at Erie Cemetery in Erie.
The Rev. Robert Whipkey officiated.
Ahlberg Funeral Chapel of Longmont handled the arrangements.

Robert Francis “Bob” Stockwell

Robert Francis “Bob” Stockwell of Broomfield died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, at his home.
He was 77 years old.
Mr. Stockwell was born Sept. 7, 1927, to Harold Stockwell and Dell Baker in Utica, N.Y.
On Feb. 2, 1952, he married Mary Nell Boone in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Mr. Stockwell graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., with a degree in mechanical engineering in 1955.
He spent his career working as a consultant for General Electric (GE) and TRW Automotive in various cities.
He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church of Boulder, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He spent six years in the U.S. Navy as a pilot in Texas, Hawaii, Guam, the Philippines and China.
He enjoyed fishing, camping and exploring national parks.
Mr. Stockwell is survived by his wife, Mary of Broomfield; three sons, William H. Stockwell of Scottsdale, Ariz., Joseph M. Stockwell of Emerald Hills, Calif., and Robert F. Stockwell Jr. of Santa Cruz, Calif.; four daughters, Maggie S. Davis of Farmington, Maine, Betsy S. Pal of Surry, Maine, Terri M. O’Shea of West Swanton, Vt., and Amy Houlihan of Lafayette; and, 22 grandchildren and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, John B. Stockwell, in 1972.
A Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life service were held Monday, Dec. 20, at St. Thomas Aquinas University Parish in Boulder.
The Rev. Paul Huesing officiated.
A reception followed at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America, Inc., 5841 Cedar Lake Road, Suite 204, Minneapolis, Minn., 55416.

Wilma L. Scoby

Wilma L. Scoby of Boulder died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, in Louisville.
She was 81 years old.
Ms. Scoby was born Oct. 10, 1923, to Edgar Farnsworth and Etta Cain in Simla.
On April 10, 1943, she married Ward O. Scoby in Simla. He preceded her in death in 1980.
Ms. Scoby graduated from Simla High School in Simla.
She moved to Boulder in 1968.
She was a homemaker and former bookkeeper.
She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church and the Buffalo Belles, both of Boulder.
She was a former member of Flatirons Country Club of Boulder.
She enjoyed University of Colorado at Boulder athletics, golf, bridge, cooking, knitting and sewing.
Ms. Scoby is survived by a son, Terry (Cindie) Scoby of Erie; and, three grandchildren, Erin (Brent) Woodd of Thornton, Lindsay Scoby of Erie and Kelly (Brian) Dietzen of Glendale, Calif.
A private family graveside service was held Monday, Dec. 27, at Mountain View Memorial Park Cemetery in Boulder.
A Celebration of Life service followed at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Boulder.
Pastors Larry and Linda Daniels-Block officiated.

John Leonard “Jack” Zweck

John Leonard “Jack” Zweck of Erie died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004.
He was 69 years old.
Mr. Zweck was born Nov. 10, 1935, to Leonard and Eleanor (McLaughlin) Zweck in Dougherty, Iowa.
On May 21, 1960, he married Gwendolyn Campbell in Dougherty, Iowa. The couple later divorced.
On Jan. 26, 1991, he married Kathy Kay Kitzman.
In 1954, Mr. Zweck graduated from St. Patrick’s School in Dougherty, Iowa.
He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1954 and served as a jet aircraft mechanic.
He also was a jazz saxophone musician in the Air Force with “The Blue Notes” band.
In 1961, he graduated from Lewis College in Joliet, Ill.
Mr. Zweck was one of the first members of the Experimental Aviation Association.
In 1975, he started his own company, Aircraft Steel.
In the early 1990s, Mr. Zweck and his wife formed Long’s Peak Alpacas Farm in Erie.
He previously worked for Pacific Aeromotive, Continental Airlines, Frontier Airlines and Branson Aircraft until his retirement.
Mr. Zweck is survived by his wife, Kathy; a sister, Darlene; two brothers, Bob and Joe; four daughters, Laura Ann, Kathryn Jolene, Julie Rae and Shari Lynn; a son, John Daniel; and two stepsons, Shane and Wade Durben.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret; and a brother, Don.
Memorial services were held Wednesday, Dec. 22, in Fort Lupton.

Edith (Merciez) Chiolino

Edith (Merciez) Chiolino of Louisville died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at her home.
She was 95 years old.
Ms. Chiolino was born Feb. 21, 1909, to Jules and Marie Bezinque Merciez in Corona, Kan.
On Nov. 28, 1925, she married John Chiolino in Scammon, Kan.
She moved to Boulder County in 1930.
Ms. Chiolino is survived by two daughters, Maxine McHugh of Louisville and Lois Tesone of Niwot; a son, John Chiolino of Louisville; a sister, Amelia Lasalle; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and, four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22, at the Avalon Funeral Home, 1320 Centaur Village Drive, Lafayette.
Interment will follow at the Louisville Cemetery in Louisville.

Thelma M. (Crites) Fortner

Thelma M. (Crites) Fortner of Denver, formerly of Lafayette, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, in Denver.
She was 93 years old.
Ms. Fortner was born Dec. 9, 1910, to Patrick and Bessie O’Brien in Coffeyville, Kan.
She resided in Lafayette from 1954-1996.
She enjoyed animals, especially cats.
Ms. Fortner is survived by two sons, Patrick Crites of Las Vegas and Richard Crites of Denver; her daughter, Jackie (Crites) Kefalas of Denver; and, nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Billy and Jim Crites.
Memorial services and interment took place at the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wheat Ridge.
