BILL EDWARDS, 81, a rodeo rider who became an actor in the 1940s and then turned to painting, died Dec. 21 in Newport Beach, Calif.

Broken bones brought his riding career to a halt, and the 6-foot 5-inch Edwards became a model in New York City. An agent took him to Hollywood in the early 1940s. In addition to Western films, Edwards had featured roles in "Our Hearts Were Young and Gay" and "Hail the Conquering Hero, " both in 1944.

Edwards began drawing horses as a child and continued drawing as he grew up on a Wyoming ranch. In the 1950s, he became a painter and commercial illustrator.

ALFONSO A. ARAGON, 76, died Sept. 13, 1999, at a local hospital. He was a manager at Dependable Cleaners.

Mr. Aragon was born Sept. 19, 1922, in Espaņola, N.M. He was married Dec. 27, 1941, to Agnes Nuanez, who is deceased.

He is survived by a son, Anthony J.; four brothers, John, Lido, Martin and Leonard; five sisters, Anita Martinez, Mildred Aragon, Josie Roberts, Regina Nance and Irene Schwitzer; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home, 203 E. Sackett St., Salida, (719) 539-3831. A Mass will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 340 E. Fifth St., Salida. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, 8105 County Road 144, Salida.

JACK CULLEN CRONE, 70, died Sept. 14, 1999, in Colorado Springs. He retired as regional sales manager from AC/Delco, a division of General Motors, and served as a corporal in the Army from 1951 to 1956.

Mr. Crone was born July 12, 1929, in Memphis, Tenn. He was married Feb. 14, 1993, to Karen Berousek.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Jack C. Jr.; a daughter, Jennifer; and three brothers, Don, Buddy and Richard.

Services will be held in Memphis. Colorado Springs Mortuary and Cremation Services, 3475 Astrozon Court, 392-4144, is handling local arrangements.

HENRY L. RIGGLE, 90, a Colorado Springs resident, died Sept. 14, 1999, in Denver. He retired from the Santa Fe Railroad after 33 years.

Mr. Riggle was born Nov. 8, 1908, in Liberal, Kan. He was married to Irene E. Fuller, who is deceased.

He is survived by a son, James G.; two daughters, Bev J. Thompson and Henrietta A. Safier; three sisters, Caroline Lowry, Eva Dellacroce and Tiny Brown; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. Entombment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Chapel Mausoleum.

Mrs. Gray was born Aug. 20, 1939, in Whitman, W.Va. She was married Jan. 7, 1960, to James Gray.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Bryan and James II; two daughters, Rebecca and Nora; a brother, Arthur Carr; three sisters, Shirley Johnson, Brenda Carr and Lula Louis; and seven grandchildren.

RETIRED MASTER SGT. STEPHEN W. "STEVE" GERO, 48, died Sept. 13, 1999, in Colorado Springs. He was a computer specialist and served in the Air Force for 20 years.

Master Sgt. Gero was born March 16, 1951, in Malone, N.Y.

He is survived by his mother, Claire E. Gero; three brothers, Greg, John and Mark; and four sisters, Debbie Volpe, Sue Bond, Laura Vasquez and Pam Rebman.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. Funeral services will also be held in Huntsville, Ala. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens, Huntsville.

Mr. Carrigan, 69, died Jan. 21, 2001, at a local care center. He was employed by El Paso County in the Office of the Treasurer. He also served in the Army for 23 years.

Mr. Carrigan was born Sept. 25, 1931, in Newport, R.I., to Edward Francis and Grace M. Carrigan, who are deceased. He was married Feb. 9, 1957, to Theresa Carrigan, who is deceased.
