JOHN L. COLYER

Mr. Colyer, 68, died Jan. 5, 2001, at Evans Army Hospital. He was a civil service computer operator at Peterson Air Force Base. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and retired from the military.

Mr. Colyer was born July 21, 1932, in Smulton, Pa., to Franklin F. and Elizabeth M. (Bowersox) Colyer. His father is deceased. He was married Aug. 3, 1952, to Kathleen G. Colyer.

He is survived by his wife; four sons, Kirby, Kerry, Kelly and Kim; his mother; two sisters, June DeSousa and Judy Lansberry; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. Monday at Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608. A funeral service with military honors will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Nolan Funeral Home.

E. JOSEPHINE COTTRELL

Mrs. Cottrell, 78, died Jan. 6, 2001, at a local hospital. She was retired from First National Bank of Shelby, Ohio, and from piano teaching.

Mrs. Cottrell was born Oct. 12, 1922, in Lima, Ohio, to E.L. and Eva I. (Poling) Snider, who are deceased. She was married Aug. 2, 1947, to Robert E. Cottrell, who is deceased.

She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Anspach; two brothers, Edwin Snider and Richard Snider; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Shoos.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Swan Law Cascade Chapel.

Burial will be in Urbana, Ohio.

JANICE FLOWERS

Mrs. Flowers, 59, died Jan. 6, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a licensed optician.

Mrs. Flowers was born Feb. 25, 1941, in Huron, S.D., to Lawrence and Louise Mack, who are deceased. She was married May 20, 1972 to Harold Lee Flowers.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Michael; and daughter, Julie Shearer; a brother, Larry Mack; a sister, Darlene French; two grandsons, Nicholas Flowers, Ryan Shearer; and a granddaughter, Jenna Shearer.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., 475-8303.

SOPHIA A. (CARTER) LAMB

Mrs. Lamb, 84, died Jan. 5, 2001, in Fort Carson as a result of a traffic accident. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Lamb was born Oct. 22, 1916, in Union, S.C., to Albert and Maude (Kirby) Carter, who are deceased. She was married March 31, 1947, to Elwyn Leroy Lamb.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, George and Thomas; a daughter, Sandra Kalish; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Ivywild Presbyterian Church, 1626 S. Tejon St.

Dove Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. Highway 85/87, Fountain, 390-4906, is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ivywild Presbyterian Church, 1626 S. Tejon St., Colorado Springs 80906.

MARGARET SHAVER

Mrs. Shaver, 84, died Jan. 5, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Shaver was born July 15, 1916, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Joseph and Della (Krebs) Brown, who are deceased. She was married Dec. 24, 1936, to Lee A. Shaver, who is deceased.

She is survived by three sons, Bruce, Matthew and Steven; a brother, Joseph Brown; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy McCarty; and two brothers.

Burial will be at noon Tuesday at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, is handling arrangements.

MABEL B. AXTELL

Mrs. Axtell, 85, died Dec. 31, 2000, at her home in Colorado Springs. She was an administrative assistant with the Bureau of Indian Affairs for 15 years.

Mrs. Axtell was born Sept. 20, 1915, in Brackney, Pa., to Benjamin and Mabel A. (Lathrop) Barney, who are deceased. She was married Jan. 18, 1937, to Jay W. Axtell, who is deceased.

She is survived by a son, Hank; two daughters, Dr. Marijane Axtell Paulsen and Dr. Kay Dean; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

No services are planned.

Inurnment will be private.

Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, 590-8922, is handling arrangements.

ANGELA CHRISTINE "ANGEL" HOWE

Ms. Howe, 32, a Colorado Springs resident, died Dec. 30, 2000, in Ames, Iowa. She was a free-lance artist and writer.

Ms. Howe was born Dec. 20, 1968, in Roseburg, Ore. She is the daughter of Thomas LeRoy and Rita Mae (Nichols) Wilhelm.

She is survived by a son, David Michael Howe; two daughters, Cheyenne Cathleen Wilhelm and Sarah Rayvon Hooper; two brothers, Stanley Douglas Bennett and Randy Lee Wilhelm; a sister, Rayna Lynn Thomas; and her grandparents, B.A. and Mellie Nichols and Bernice Primrose Berks. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Summer Sky Wilhelm; and a sister, Natalie Louise Bennett.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Pikes Peak Park Baptist Church, 3725 El Morro Road. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave. Cappadona's Alternative Funeral Services, 3407 N. El Paso St., 520-1817, is handling arrangements.

INEZ WESTERBUHR

Mrs. Westerbuhr, 76, died Jan. 2, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a retired accountant.

Mrs. Westerbuhr was born Jan. 21, 1924, in Alton, Mo., to Herbert Henry and Grace (Brooks) Johnson, who are deceased. She was married Aug. 24, 1947, to Ervon Frank Westerbuhr, who is deceased.

She is survived by a son, Michael; two daughters, Corliss Palmer and Christine Galloway; a brother, Maurice Johnson; and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Johnson; and two sisters, Ruth Johnson and Joann Temple.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road. Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, is handling arrangements.

HELEN "LOUISE" VAN LOPIK

Mrs. Van Lopik, 96, died Jan. 1, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Fine Arts Center, the 50-year Club of Colorado College, Friends of the Pioneers Museum, Women's Education Society, Kappa Kappa Gamma and was courtesy member of the El Paso Club. She graduated from Colorado Springs High School and Colorado College.

Mrs. Van Lopik was born Nov. 22, 1904, in Colorado Springs to Percy and Bessie E. (George) Danks, who are deceased. She was married Jan. 28, 1928, to Arthur Weston Van Lopik, who is deceased.

She is survived by a daughter, Evelyn Stark; two grandchildren, Lance Stark and Gail Brewster; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Georgie Ritchey.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Shove Chapel at Colorado College, 1010 N. Nevada Ave.

After the service, a reception will be at El Paso Club, 30 E. Platte Ave.

Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum, 215 S. Tejon St., Colorado Springs 80903; or Colorado Christian Home, Tennyson Center for Children and Families, 2950 Tennyson St., Denver 80212.

MARVIN ELWOOD OUTLAW

Mr. Outlaw, 78, died Dec. 27, 2000, at his home in Security. He retired as sergeant first class from the Army and was a Fort Carson civil service employee.

Mr. Outlaw was born Dec. 10, 1922, in Mount Olive, N.C., to Lonnie and Katie (Jones) Outlaw, who are deceased.

He is survived by three daughters, Ginny Perdue, Terry Outlaw and Debra Hoyer; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Soldier's Memorial Chapel, Fort Carson.

Inurnment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver.

BEULAH FAY WOLBER

Mrs. Wolber, 79, died Jan. 1, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She worked in the linen department at Penrose Main.

Mrs. Wolber was born March 13, 1921, in Elkart, Kan., to Aaron and Charlotte Dorris Murray, who are deceased. She was married July 15, 1939, to Alfred Wolber, who is deceased.

She is survived by two sons, Bill of Maryland and Scott of Colorado; three daughters, Betty Keller of Colorado, Charlene Wolber of Colorado and Charlotte Reed of Indiana; two brothers, Allen Murray and Wesley Murray both of Montana; two sisters, Aline Stewart and Lola Howell, both of Colorado; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m. today at Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-7991.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services.

Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road.
