LEON KARPA

Mr. Karpa, 89, died Feb. 5, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was a barber.

Mr. Karpa was born Oct. 14, 1911, in Austria. He was married in 1943 to Emily Makota.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Eva Craig and Leonora Bronson; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Gardens Chapel, 3825 Airport Road.

Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-7991, is handling arrangements.

LOREN CLELAND GALE

Mr. Gale, 73, died Feb. 4, 2001, at a local hospital. He retired as a printer from The Gazette and served in the Navy during World War II.

Mr. Gale was born May 22, 1927, in Albuquerque, N.M., to George W. Gale and Helen Messerve, who are deceased.

He was married April 3, 1948, to Helen Pearl Howey, who is deceased.

He is survived by a son, Leslie D.; a daughter, Joyce E. Olsen; two sisters, Margaret Skuppa and Dorothy Clarkson; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Fairview Cemetery, 1000 S. 26th Street. After the services, a remembrance celebration and luncheon will be at Emerald Towers, 107 W. Cheyenne Road.

Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., 475-8303, is handling arrangements.

DOROTHY K. HANLON

Mrs. Hanlon, 83, died Feb. 5, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She retired from inner-city mission work in Chicago and Washington.

Mrs. Hanlon was born Aug. 27, 1917, in Warsaw, Ill., to John F. and Anna M. (Sporey) Altheide, who are deceased. She was married Dec. 23, 1957, to Thomas B. Hanlon, who is deceased.

She is survived by a son, Mark L.; and a grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Altheide and Martin Altheide; and a sister, Alberta Gray.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Woodmen Valley Chapel, 477 Woodmen Road. Burial will be at Sutter Salem Bible Church Cemetery, Warsaw. Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, is handling arrangements.

THOMAS EDWIN JOHNSON

Mr. Johnson, 50, died Feb. 5, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was owner of Midwest Furniture.

Mr. Johnson was born Aug. 9, 1950, in Colorado Springs to Samuel and Opal (Diggs) Johnson, who are deceased.

He was married May 16, 1981, to Mary Clark.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Bryan; two daughters, Sarah Humphries and Emilie Johnson; three brothers, Don, Bill and Jim; two sisters, Linda Seeger and Lelia Harding; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Holy Apostle's Catholic Church, 4925 N. Carefree Circle.

Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., 475-8303, is handling arrangements.

LINDA (ALLAR) MACY

Mrs. Macy, 53, died Feb. 6, 2001, at a local hospital as a result of leukemia. She was principal of Foothills Elementary School.

Mrs. Macy was born Feb. 18, 1947, in Cleveland to Lois and Marshall Rolls(are parents still alive), who are deceased. She was married to Michael Macy.

She is survived by her husband; Eli Allar; and a daughter, Alex.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m Saturday at the First Congregational Church, 20 E. St. Vrain Street.

ROBIN "BOB" PETTY

Mr. Petty, 60, a lifelong Colorado Springs resident, died Feb. 4, 2001, in Denver. He retired as an English teacher from School District 11. He served in the Air Force for four years.

Mr. Petty was born Oct. 4, 1940, in Colorado Springs to Frank and Nina (Humble) Petty, who are deceased.

He is survived by a brother, Roger Cameron; two longtime companions, Michael Coon and Bob Willy; and several cousins.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Episcopal Church, 631 N. Tejon Street.

A private inurnment is planned.

WILLIAM A. TANKERSLEY

Mr. Tankersley, 90, died Feb. 3, 2001, at a local hospital. He was retired from carpentry.

Mr. Tankersley was born May 5, 1910, in Spur, Texas, to Charles B. and Mary (Barry) Tankersley, who are deceased. He was married June 22, 1940, to Catherine M. McNeel, who is deceased.

He is survived by a son, Jessie L.; a daughter-in-law, Mary L.; three brothers, Lyndale Tankersley, Travis Tankersley and L.Z. Hagood; a sister, Jessie Faye Higgins; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, William R.; and a brother, C.B.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, with services at 1 p.m., at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., 475-8303.

Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

PAT McGANN

Mr. McGann, 78, died Feb. 2, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He retired from the Air Force after serving with the Flying Tigers. He served in the Air Force for 22 years.

Mr. McGann was born Oct. 22, 1922, in Seward, Kan. He was married April 15, 1946, to Juanita (Grundeitz) McGann.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Mike McGann and Allan Book; four daughters, Connie Roseman, Sally Potts, Tina Lane and Terri Rice; a brother, Jack; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Memorial Gardens Chapel, 3825 Airport Road. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Gardens Chapel.

JEAN B. HANEY

Mrs. Haney, 81, died Feb. 1, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Haney was born Oct. 2, 1919, in Lincoln, Neb., to Patrick H. and Louise M. (Tholl) Broderick, who are deceased. She was married Nov. 11, 1942, to William Q. Haney, who is deceased.

She is survived by two daughters, Pattilou Haney and Marianne Olson; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2318 N. Cascade Ave.

Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

FRANCES M. McKNIGHT

Mrs. McKnight, 84, died Feb. 3, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. McKnight was born May 8, 1916, in Victor to Wayne and Myra (Doyle) Louderback, who are deceased. She was married to Ellis Mc-Knight, who is deceased.

She is survived by three sons, William, Joseph and Frank; five daughters, Betsy Shoup, Patricia Miller, Eileen McKnight, Rose Mc-Knight and Kathleen Wagner; a brother, Wayne Louderback; and a sister, Relda Borgeson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Gardens Chapel, 3825 Airport Road.

SANDRA S. "SANDY" KNODEL

Mrs. Knodel, 66, died Feb. 2, 2001, at a local hospital. She was retired as a legal secretary from the Air Force Academy.

Mrs. Knodel was born Nov. 12, 1934, in Longmont to Wilbur D. and Daulton O. (Rockett) Ereckson, who are deceased. She was married April 8, 1956, to Albert L. Knodel.

She is survived by her husband; a step-daughter, Rosemary Brown; a brother, Gary Ereckson; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 2111 Carlton Ave. Private entombment will be at Shrine of Remembrance "Garden of Angels" Mausoleum, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597.

NORMA "LOUISE" SCOTT

Mrs. Scott, 79, died Feb. 2, 2001, at a local care center. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Scott was born May 23, 1921, in Eastland, Texas, to William and Roxie (Knight) Brunette, who are deceased. She was married Feb. 8, 1943, to retired Air Force Lt. Col. Roy M. Scott.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Kinney D.; a sister, Ruby Springer; and a granddaughter. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil, Cloyd and Evon; two sisters, Frances Rutherford and Willie Fisher; and a grandson.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597.

Cremation is planned.
