DOROTHY LEE DICKEY

Mrs. Dickey, 82, died Feb. 1, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Dickey was born Aug. 19, 1918, in Crockett, Texas, to Thomas and Lillian (Rosson) Adams, who are deceased. She was married Dec. 25, 1934, to John Olan Dickey, who is deceased.

She is survived by a son, Billy W.; a daughter, Barbara J. Thomas; three brothers, Charlie Adams, Joe Adams and Roy Adams; a sister, Marion Johnson; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson.

Services will be in Crockett, Texas.

Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., 475-8303, is handling local arrangements.

LOIS J. COPELAND

Mrs. Copeland, 80, died Feb. 1, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was employed as a secretary for many years with the El Pomar Foundation. Before that she was employed as a secretary for the city of Colorado Springs.

Mrs. Copeland was born Sept. 18, 1920, in Maud, Okla., to Oliver and Myrtle (Collins) Kinney, who are deceased. She was married Feb. 11, 1950, to James R. Copeland, who is deceased.

She is survived by three sons, Jeffrey Jacobson, Stephen Copeland and Alan Copeland; three brothers, Wayne Kinney, William Kinney Jr., and Leland Kinney; a sister, Denise Cheetsos; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Gayle; and two sisters, Lorraine and LaVae.

At her request, no services were held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pikes Peak Hospice, 825 E. Pikes Peak Ave., Suite 600, Colorado Springs 80903.

MARGUERITE WINIFRED COPE

Ms. Cope, 86, a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs, died Feb. 2, 2001. She was retired from Colorado College.

Ms. Cope was born April 7, 1914, in Colorado Springs to James Elmer and Elizabeth (Catchpole) Cope, who are deceased.

She is survived by a brother, Wilfred "Fred" E. Cope; five nephews; and two nieces. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gilbert M. and Clarence T.; a sister, Dorothy E. Williams; and five half-brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Swan Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Swan Law Cascade Chapel, 501 N. Cascade Ave.

Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

GILBERT GARCIA

Mr. Garcia, 70, died Jan. 30, 2001, at a local care center. He was retired from Target Stores. He also was retired from the Army.

Mr. Garcia was born May 8, 1930, in Salida to Jose and Teresa Garcia, who are deceased. He was married Aug. 5, 1950, to Frances Garcia.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Gary and Tom; two daughters, Teresa McKinley and Debra Henson; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 331 Main St., Security.

Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. Highway 85/87, Fountain, 390-4906, is handling arrangements.

GUILLERMINA BAUZA PEREZ

Mrs. Perez, 77, died Feb. 2, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Perez was born July 5, 1923, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, to Cornelio Perez Soto and Marcolina Bauza Rodriguez, who are deceased. She was married to Maximino Cordero, who is deceased.

She is survived by five sons, Hector Luis Cordero, Angel Luis Cordero, Maximino Cordero, Ramon Antonio Cordero and Manolin Cordero; a brother, Felo Perez; a sister, Jaja Perez; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Olga Iris Cordero.

A viewing will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Cappadona's Family Service Center, 3133 N. El Paso St., 520-1817. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Cappadona's Family Service Center.

JESSICA LEE SELL

Miss Sell, 23, died Jan. 30, 2001, in Colorado Springs after a long illness. She was disabled.

Miss Sell was born Aug. 18, 1977, in Colorado Springs to William and Laura Lee (Nily) Sell. Her mother is deceased.

She is survived by her father; her grandmother, Betty L. Hibbard; her stepgrandfather, Harry C. Hibbard; and her grandfather, William M. Sell.

Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. today at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900.

Services will be at at 3:30 p.m. today at Swan Law Cascade Chapel.

Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road.

SHAUNA R. CRISCO

Mrs. Crisco, 31, died Feb. 1, 2001, at a local hospital. She was a music teacher at Roosevelt-Edison Charter School.

Mrs. Crisco was born Aug. 8, 1969, in Effingham, Ill., to Bruce and Sandra Kaye (Bigard) Fisher. She was married Dec. 3, 1998, in Colorado Springs, to Kenneth J. Crisco.

She is survived by her husband; her parents of Effingham; a brother, Chad Fisher of Chicago; and her grandparents, Gene and Eufala Bigard of Sainte Marie, Ill.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Murray Chapel, 1705 N. Murray Blvd.

Interment will be private. Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608, is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Roosevelt-Edison Charter School, 205 Byron Drive, Colorado Springs 80910.

HOWARD D. "SPECK" BURGER

Mr. Burger, 85, died Feb. 1, 2001, at a local hospital. He was a medic supply officer in California for 10 years, a chief engineer in Colorado and a civil service officer for 35 years. He attended engineering school in Virginia. He joined the Army in 1940 and served as a master sergeant during World War II.

Mr. Burger was born July 30, 1915, in Blue Hill, Kan., to Rueben and Sarah (Wetlaufer) Burger, who are deceased.

He is survived by his fiancée, Gladys Webster; nieces and nephews; and a good friend, Bob Epler. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Owen, Ralph and Raymond; two sisters, Evelyn Peters and Elsie Edwards; and an infant sister, Jessie.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Domoney's Funeral Home, 817 Morgan Ave., Downs, Kan., (785) 454-3325. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Domoney's Funeral Home. Burial will be at Prairie Grove Cemetery, Cawker City, Kan.

DONALD A. APPLETRAD

Mr. Appletrad, 91, died Jan. 31, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was a carpenter and served in the Army.

Mr. Appletrad was born Oct. 11, 1909, in Leonardville, Kan., to Olof J. and Lydia (Neil) Appletrad, who are deceased. He was married in March 1949 to Frona M. Fox, who is deceased.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Memorial Gardens Chapel, 3825 Airport Road.

Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-7991, is handling arrangements.

DAVID KROUT JR.

Mr. Krout, 76, died Jan. 29, 2001, at a local care center. He was an intelligence officer. He served in the Air Force for 21 years, attaining the rank of master sergeant.

Mr. Krout was born Jan. 13, 1925, in Mount Wolf, Pa., to David and Maggie (Sloat) Krout, who are deceased. He was married to Sumie Ishibashi.

He is survived by his wife.

No services were held. Cremation has taken place. Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597, handled arrangements.

ESTHER C. HALL

Mrs. Hall, 93, died Jan. 30, 2001, at a local hospital. She worked in the cafeteria at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church.

Mrs. Hall was born April 4, 1907, in Pueblo to John and Florence (Lipe) Burns, who are deceased. She was married Oct. 2, 1929, to William A. Hall Sr., who is deceased.

She is survived by a son, William A. Jr. of the Philippines; four daughters, Margaret O. Elliott of Denver; Betty L. Snyder of Fort Wayne, Ind., Irene Paskert Colonial, Texas, and Cathy Bergmeier of Denver; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a stepgreat-grandchild; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Neil Burns; and two sisters, Edith McCormick and Mary Warren.

A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3122 Poinsetta Drive. Burial will be private. Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608, is handling arrangements.

JUAN "MIGUEL" AYALA

Mr. Ayala, 43, died Jan. 31, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was a banquet chef and an ice sculptor at the Air Force Academy Officers Club.

Mr. Ayala was born Feb. 24, 1957, in San Salvador, El Salvador, to Juan A. and Juana (Soreano) Ayala. He mother is deceased. He was married Dec. 17, 1991, to Rebecca Powers.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Danielle; a stepdaughter, Jacqueline Powell; and his father. He was preceded in death by a brother, Arnoldo Gallont.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Monday at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Services will be at noon Monday at Swan Law Cascade Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road.
