FIORE
Anna J. Bivona Fiore, age 88, formerly of Waterbury Avenue, Stamford, died Saturday, February 2, 2002, at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Center, Stratford. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank F. Fiore. Mrs. Fiore, a daughter of the late Anthony and Lenora Fauci Bivona, was born December 15, 1913, in New York City. She was employed for many years at the family owned Atlantic Fish Market of Stamford and was also a bookkeeper for more than 10 years at Westchester Electric of Stamford before her retirement in 1974. Mrs. Fiore was a devoted mother to Anthony L. Fiore and his wife, Alberta, of Wallingford, and Richard P. Fiore and his wife, Annette, of Milford. She also leaves a sister, Margaret Cipolla of Stamford; grandchildren Anthony S. Fiore and his wife, Annemarie, of Wolcott, Lynn M. Fiore of Wallingford, Natalie R. Fiore of Milford; and a great-grandson, Joshua Fiore. She was predeceased by brothers Michael, Carl, Anthony and Augustus Bivona. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2002, at 11 a.m. in St. MaryPs Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford. Entombment will follow in St. JohnPs Garden Mausoleum, Darien. Friends may call on Tuesday, February 5, 2002, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street on the Green, Milford. Contributions in her memory may be made to the AlzheimerPs Association South Central Connecticut Chapter, 2911 Dixwell Ave., Hamden CT 06518.

MESSINGER
Dr. Henry Messinger, age 89, a 50 year resident of the Southport section of Fairfield, and a highly respected, much loved family practitioner who will be missed by all who knew him, died Sunday, February 3, 2002, at the Jewish Home for the Elderly, Fairfield. Dr. Messinger was born in New York City, son of the late Samuel and Rose (Erlich) Messinger, and was a graduate of Long Island University, and the University of Basel Medical School in Switzerland. He was an attending physician at both St. Vincent s Medical Center and Bridgeport Hospital. Dr. Messinger was a member of the American Medical Association, a fellow of the Academy of Family Physicians, a member of the Connecticut State Medical Society, the Connecticut Academy of Family Physicians, the Fairfield County Medical Association, the Greater Bridgeport Medical Association, a 50 year member of the Fairfield Lions Club, and a charter member of Congregation Beth El in Fairfield. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Koblin Messinger, and his daughter, Maris Messinger, both of Southport; his son, Dr. Barry Messinger and his wife, Geri, of Manchester; his granddaughter, Heidi Everhart of Cambridge, Mass.; and a sister-in-law, Claire Messinger of Pompano Beach, Fla. Dr. Messinger is also survived by his nephews, Gerald Koblin and his wife, Petrina, who were especially devoted to him, Clifford Koblin and his wife, Alison, and Warren Crane; his niece, Susan Schaer and her husband, David; great-nieces and great-nephew, Melissa Koblin, Saundra Crane, Lisa and Rebecca Koblin, and Randall Crane and his wife, Kimberly. Dr. Messinger was predeceased by his brother, Albert J. Messinger, and by a niece, Beverly Crane. Services will take place Tuesday, February 5, 2002, at 11 a.m. from the Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road, Fairfield, (friends may call at 10 a.m.), with interment following at Temple Israel Memorial Park in Blauvelt, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Beth El, 1200 Fairfield Woods Rd., Fairfield CT 06430, or to St. Vincent s Medical Center Foundation, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport CT 06606.

KUCHINSKY
Joseph A. "Watts" Kuchinsky, age 84, of Scotland Street, Ansonia, died Saturday, February 2, 2002, at Griffin Hospital, Derby. He was born on August 4, 1917, in Ansonia, son of the late Bronislaw and Michalina Wielb Kuchinsky. He worked as a press operator for CookPs Co, Ansonia, retiring in 1970. He was a member of St. JosephPs Church, Ansonia, a member of the Lemko Club, and the Norwood A.C. Club, both of Ansonia. He is survived by two nephews, Peter M. Kuchinsky of Stow, Mass., and Charles J. Kuchinsky of Middletown. He is also survived by two nieces, Carrie Rizzo of Shelton, and Janet Albrecht of Thomaston; and his sister, Helen Gyurik of Naugatuck. He was predeceased by one brother, Michael P. Kuchinsky, and one niece, Shirley Wassong. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Jenkins-King Funeral Home, 12 Franklin Street, Ansonia. Burial will be in St. MichaelPs Cemetery, Derby. Friends may call on Tuesday, February 5, 2002, from 10 to 11 a.m. before the funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Griffin Hospital Development Fund, 130 Division St., Derby CT 06418.

ANDERSON
Sven A. Anderson, age 85, husband of Betsy (Johnson) Anderson of Farrell Road, Newtown, died Sunday, February 3, 2002, in Ashlar of Newtown. He was born in Fairfield on March 27, 1916, son of the late John and Anna Anderson. Mr. Anderson was raised in Fairfield and had been a resident of Newtown for 15 years. For 20 years, he was a superintendent at Alcoa Aluminum in Fairfield. For 10 years, before his retirement, he was superintendent of maintenance at the Federal Court House in Bridgeport. Following his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling. He was a member, Deacon, and choir member at Calvary Evangelical Church in Trumbull. He is survived, besides, his wife of 61 years, by two sons, Lanny R. Anderson and Gordon J. Anderson, both of Newtown. He is also survived by a grandson, Shane Anderson, of Canton, and a great-grandson, Forrest Anderson. He as predeceased by three brothers. Funeral services will be held at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, on Wednesday, February 6, 2002, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David M. McIntyre officiating. Interment in Newtown Village Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 6, 2002, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Contributions may be made to the Calvary Evangelical Free Church, 498 White Plains Rd., Trumbull CT 06611.

RICHARDSON
A.D. Richardson, age 70, of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 30, 2002, in St. VincentPs Hospital, Bridgeport. He was born January 23, 1932, in Luverne, Ala., to the late William Richardson and Mittie Lou Dorsey. A.D. was a veteran of the Korean War and was employed at Bedrock Welding before retiring. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Willie Mae Richardson; sons William Hunter III and his wife, Nadine, Sterlen Hunter and his fiance, Valerie Fields; daughters Sabrena Hunter-Brown and Sonya Sewell; brothers Verdie Richardson and James Edward Richardson; sisters Lula Mae Houston, Denise Mathis, Mittie Lou and Celeste Williams; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, William Lee Richardson. A service will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2002, at 11 a.m. in East End Baptist Tabernacle, 548 Central Avenue, Bridgeport. Friends may greet the family from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Avenue, Bridgeport. Arrangements entrusted to George J. Peterson Funeral Home, 1041 Noble Avenue, Bridgeport.

RIVERA
Cesar Rivera, age 40, of Bridgeport, entered into rest on Saturday, February 2, 2002, in Hartford Hospital. Cesar was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, then became a Bridgeport resident many years ago. Heleaves to cherish his memory his dear wife, Evelyn Rivera of Bridgeport. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Javier Rivera; one daughter, Leticia Rivera; five brothers, Julio, Carlos, Jose Manuel, Efrain and Adino Rivera, all of Bridgeport; four sisters, Miriam, Nereida, Wanda, and Judith Rivera, all of Bridgeport; three grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by one son, Cesar Rivera Jr. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, February 5, 2002, beginning at 8 a.m. in the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, followed by a mass in St. Mary s Church at 9 a.m. Interment will take place in St. Michael s Cemetery. Friends may attend calling hours on Monday (TODAY) from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

PIQUETTE
Stephanie Pniewski Piquette, age 78, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Edward Piquette, died Sunday, February 3, 2002, in St. VincentPs Medical Center, Bridgeport. Arrangements to be announced by the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Trumbull.

SAWICKI
Casimir "Kayo" Sawicki, age 83, of Maple Street, Seymour, died Sunday, February 3, 2002, at Griffin Hospital, Derby. He was the husband of Stacia Greski Sawicki. He was born in Staten Island, N.Y., on October 10, 1918, son of the late William and Cecilia Prayzyck Sawicki. He was a retired welder for the Farrel Co He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II. He was a communicant of St. Augustine s Church and a member of the Farrel Old Timers Club. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, William Sawicki Sr. and his wife, Dianne; one sister, Stella Ciezniak of Ansonia; two grandsons, William David Sawicki Jr. and Michael Sawicki, both of Seymour; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services with military honors will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2002, at 9:15 a.m. at the Anthony Chepulis Funeral Home, 47 Washington Avenue, Seymour, for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine s Church. Interment will be in Mt Meadows Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, February 5, 2002, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Baseball Post 174 of Oxford through the funeral director.

READY
Daniel P. Ready, age 76, of Ells Street, Ansonia, husband to Jane Wright Ready, died Friday, February 1, 2002, at Gardners Heights Health Care Facility. He was born on January 3, 1926, son of John and Mary Peterson. Mr. Ready was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy, was a communicant of the Church of the Assumption, a graduate of Pine High School, a member of the Catholic Youth Association, and the Gordon Viselli American Legion Post 597 of Ansonia. He was a retired machinist, having worked at the E.H. Keen Co. for many years. Survivors, besides his wife, are three sons, Daniel H. Ready of Stratford, James M. Ready of Dunstable, Mass., and Paul W. Perry of San Volayo, Calif.; two brothers, John J. Ready of Seymour and William Ready of East Haven; one sister, Lillian Bryce of West Swanson, N.H.; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by one sister, Marion Malloy. Donations may be made to the Assumption Church in care of the Bennett Funeral Home, 91 North Cliff Street, Ansonia. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.

PISANELLI
Cora M. Pisanelli, age 76, of Naugatuck, beloved wife of Henry, died Sunday, December 1, 2002, in her home. Born in Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Fannie Gonsalves Teixeira. A resident of Bridgeport most of her life, she moved to Naugatuck four years ago. Survivors includes two daughters, Brenda Pisanelli of Naugatuck and Diane Spetrino of Florida; a grandson, Larry Spetrino of Florida; five brothers, Joseph, Louis and James Teixeira, all of California, John Teixeira of New Jersey, and John J. Texira of Beacon Falls; a sister, Beatrice Teixeira of Milford; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Joseph Pisanelli. Services will take place on Wednesday, December 4, 2002, at 11 a.m. in St. Ambrose Church, Bridgeport., with a Mass of Christian Burial. Internment in Moutain Grove of Easton Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday morning, December 4, 2002, after 9 a.m. in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street, Bridgeport (on the Trumbull line).

WOOD
Lucy (Santone) Wood, age 75, of Bridgeport, died on Sunday, December 1, 2002, at Bishop Wicke Health Care Center in Shelton. She was the widow of James D. Wood. Born in Bridgeport to the late Joseph and Maria Santone, she had been a lifelong Bridgeport resident prior to residing in Shelton with her son for a brief period. She was retired from Park City Packaging in Stratford where she had been employed for over 30 years. Mrs. Wood had been a past president of the Park City Little League Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her beloved son and his wife, James W. and Eve Wood of Shelton; two grandsons, James C. Wood and Thomas G. Wood; one brother, Joseph Santone of Washington , D.C.; and several nieces and nephews. She had been predeceased by one sister, Ann Belush and two brothers, Michael and Anthony Santone. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Thursday, December 5, 2002, at 11:30 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Joseph Church, 50 Fairmount Place, Shelton with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. At the family`s request, calling hours have been omitted. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford.

DENNIS
John R. Dennis Jr., age 22, of Trumbull, died December 1, 2002, in his home. John was born in Bridgeport, and resided in Trumbull for most of his life. He resided in Newtown for five years before moving back to Trumbull. John was a lover of music. He just began a part-time career as a DJ Spinner. John had a smile that could light up a room, and a great sense of humor. He loved to give people nicknames which stayed with them. John loved to draw. He had many of his own characters, his most famous being ``Frank the Alien``. John began his career at Newtown Hardware in Newtown. He later worked for Tweeter in Danbury and Milford, and was presently a sales marketer for a mortgage company in Brookfield. He was the sunshine in his mother`s life, Robin Reh of Stratford, and was cherished by his father, John R. Dennis Sr. of Baltic, Conn. He will be sadly missed by his younger brother, Jim Dennis of Trumbull; his younger sister, Lindsay Salvati of Stratford. He is also survived by his Pop-Pop, George Dennis of Baltic; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Fred and Jennie Reh; and Ethel Dennis (Nanny),; and his aunt, Lori Gurrieri, with whom he resided. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the Cyril F. Mullins Trumbull Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, and at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford. Interment will be private. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
