Louise Toscano, 79;

June 20, 2002

Louise Toscano, 79, of Cos Cob, a 25-year town resident and a town employee, died Tuesday, June 18, at Greenwich Hospital.

She died of kidney failure, according to her daughter, Rosemary Toscano of Cos Cob.

Born Feb. 28, 1923, in the Bronx, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Teresa Fariello Toscano.

Mrs. Toscano was an employee of the town's registrars of voters office. She enjoyed arts and crafts.

Her husband, Frank R. Toscano, died in 1997.

She is survived, in addition to her daughter, by a son, Vincent M. Toscano of Port Chester, N.Y., and four grandchildren.

Visiting hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. today and tomorrow at Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, 247 Stanwich Road. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 920 Farmington Ave., West Hartford, CT 06107 or to the American Cancer Society, 372 Danbury Road, Wilton, CT 06897.

Jacqueline Keegan, 62,

Jacqueline Vogel Keegan, 62, a longtime Greenwich resident who was a nurse and a businesswoman, died Saturday, June 29, at home.

She died of complications from cancer, according to her family.

Born Nov. 16, 1939, in New Rochelle, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Robert Nord Vogel and the late Eileen Grenier Vogel.

Mrs. Keegan worked as a registered nurse at Greenwich Hospital until 1971, at which time she became the director of the Greenwich Nurses Registry. While administering daily operations of the business, she continued to actively practice home care nursing.

In 1995, Mrs. Keegan purchased the Nurses Registry and expanded it into Greenwich Nursing and Healthcare Registry, which was owned and operated by nurses.

Mrs. Keegan was a member of the Greenwich Nurses Alumnae Association, National Organization of Registry and Referral Agencies, Private Care Association, Soroptimists of Greenwich and a board member of the Greenwich Hospital Association Credit Union.

She was a longtime parishioner of St. Agnes Church.

Mrs. Keegan is survived by three daughters, Maureen Keegan Thomann of Cheshire, Jacqueline Johnson of Greenwich, and Sheila Uhl of Stamford; a son, Thomas G. Keegan Jr., of Shelton; three sisters, Barbara Vogel of Key West, Fla., Sandy Vogel of Montauk, N.Y., and Patricia Vogel Molloy of New Rochelle, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.

Calling hours are from 4 to 8p.m. tomorrow at Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Agnes Church, 247 Stanwich Road. Burial will be private.

Mario Ambrosecchia

July 3, 2002

Mario John Ambrosecchia, 39, of Greenwich, died Sunday, June 30, at his residence.

The cause of death is still being determined, according to his family.

He was a carpenter working with EM Rose Builders.

Born March 10, 1963, in Greenwich, he was a son of Pasquale and Dora Ambrosecchia of Greenwich.

He graduated from Greenwich High School in 1981.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Alessandro Ambrosecchia of Greenwich; and a nephew.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and tomorrow at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Roch's Church, 10 St. Roch's Ave.

Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, 35 Parsonage Road.

Beatrice Forsberg

July 3, 2002

Beatrice Moore Forsberg, 86, a longtime resident of Old Greenwich, died June 16 at Greenwich Hospital.

She died of heart failure, according to her goddaughter, Nicola Coddington of Irvington, N.Y.

Mrs. Forsberg was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on July 11, 1915, the daughter of the late Charles Edward Moore and Josephine Engstrom Moore.

She was the granddaughter of Gilpin Moore, inventor and co-founder with John Deere of Deere & Co., Moline, Ill.

Mrs. Forsberg was educated in various countries of Europe and studied music and languages. She was presented to King Gustav V at the Royal Amaranten Ball in Stockholm, Sweden, where her parents had their summer home.

She was married in 1948 in Washington , D.C., to Torsten Forsberg, owner and president of Wilson's American Company, a customs clearance and international forwarding firm. Mr. Forsberg died in 1976.

Mrs. Forsberg was active in many charities. She was a founder of the Connecticut branch of the Humane Society of the United States, which eventually became incorporated with its parent society in Washington , D.C. She served for many years on the executive board of the Woodycrest Children's Home of New York City and the Women's Bible Society of New York.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Colonial Dames of America and St. Saviour's Episcopal Church.

She had lived since 1949 in Old Greenwich.

There are no survivors.

Services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of the United States, 2100 L Street NW, Washington , D.C. 20037.

Arrangements are by Fred D. Knapp & Son Funeral Home.

Thomas A. Ferrone, 66

Thomas A. Ferrone of Woodbury, 66, owner of Tommy's Wholesale Antiques in Stamford, died Tuesday, July 9, in Delaware.

He died of injuries sustained after being struck by an automobile, according to his family.

Mr. Ferrone had operated his antiques store in Stamford for the past 12 years, drawing many customers from Greenwich and Stamford.

Born Jan. 1, 1936, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of Angelina Gallo Ferrone of Westport and the late Anthony Ferrone.

He lived in Westport and Stamford until moving to Woodbury six years ago.

He was a 1953 graduate of Staples High School in Westport. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sasha Thurman Ferrone of Woodbury; five sons, Erik Ferrone of Redding and Michael Ferrone, Thomas Ferrone, Anthony Ferrone and Jason Ferrone, all of Fairfield; a brother, Robert Ferrone of Norwalk; two sisters, Annette Anastasia of Westport and June Bieling of Fairfield; a grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road E., Westport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Ave., Westport, with the Rev. Thomas Thorne officiating. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery, Greens Farms.
