Alexander E. Lagocki

NEW BRITAIN -- Alexander E. Lagocki, 83, of New Britain, died Friday, May 24, 2002, at his home.

Born in Meriden, the son of the late John and Mary (Nalewajek), he moved to New Britain in 1988 and was the husband of the late Bridget (Sokol) Lagocki. He was employed for many years at Rich Plastic Company, Meriden, retiring 18 years ago. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church, where he took up the collection at the Sunday 7 a.m. Mass and he was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

Mr. Lagocki is survived by his daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Eno of New Britain; his son, Daniel "Butch" Lagocki of Meriden; two grandsons, Scott Lagocki and Jeff Lagocki, both of Meriden; a sister, Ann Pizzonia of Meriden; a brother, John Lagocki of New Britain; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Edward Lagocki, Stanley Lagocki and Walter Lagocki; and a sister, Helen Lagocki.

A memorial Mass will be Wednesday, May 29, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 195 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Meriden. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Church Flower Fund, 195 So. Main St. New Britain 06051, or to a charity of the donor's choice. The Farrell Funeral Home New Britain has charge of arrangements.

Leona Rancourt

MERIDEN -- Leona Ouimet Rancourt, 93, of Tremont St., Meriden, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at the Bradley Home in Meriden. She was the wife of 40 years of the late Joseph Rancourt.

Born in Wauregan, April 28, 1909, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Malvina Gayllipeau Ouimet, she had been a Meriden resident for over 70 years. She was a parishioner of St. Laurent Church in Meriden, a member of the Council of Catholic Women, the Daughters of Isabelle, the Saint Ann Society and a volunteer for many charitable organizations.

She was the loving mother of her daughter, Jeanine Guest and her husband, Robert of Meriden; her two sons, Robert Rancourt and his wife, Joan of Yalesville section of Wallingford and Clement Rancourt and his wife, Joan of Plantsville section of Southington; her eight cherished grandchildren, Roland Rancourt, Deborah Carter, Sandra Rancourt-Rule, Laurie Jaffarian, Brian Guest and Christopher, Sean and Monique Rancourt; her 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Roland Rancourt; two sisters; and three brothers.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Tuesday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m., when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Laurent Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. Laurent Cemetery in South Meriden. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the National Kidney Foundation, 920 Farmington Ave., West Hartford, CT 06107.

Raymond J. Sibiga Sr.

WALLINGFORD -- Raymond J. Sibiga Sr., 82, of Parker Farms Road, Wallingford, died Friday, May 24, 2002, in MidState Medical Center in Meriden. He was the beloved husband of Alta La Brack Sibiga.

Born in Lowell, Mass., a son of the late Martin and Sophie Marzak Sibiga, he was a lifelong Wallingford resident. Mr. Sibiga had been employed by the International Silver Co., for over 40 years until his retirement. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, and was a member and past-commander of the American Legion, Siedlicki Post No. 187 for over 50 years. He also was a member of the Polish National Alliance, Group No. 519, and was a parishioner of SS. Peter and Paul Church.

Besides his wife, Mr. Sibiga is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Rosamond and Dale Brodeur of Kure Beach, N.C., Monica and Gary Smith of Cheshire and Sophie and Ralph Tagliatela of Sunapee, N.H.; his five sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond J. Sibiga Jr. and Sheila Sibiga of Seven Lakes, N.C., Michael and Susan Sibiga of Ashford, Martin and Christina Sibiga of Kure Beach, N.C., David and JoAnne Sibiga of Ashford and Paul and Kim Sibiga of Marlborough; his three sister, Theresa Crocco of Tucson, Ariz., Stella Seitz of Manhattan, Kan., and Sister Mary Esther of Suffield his brother, Joseph Sibiga Of Ramrod Key, Fla., 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Malonis; and his brother, Michael Sibiga.

His family will receive relatives and friends in the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Yalesville Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to SS. Peter and Paul Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors, will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to SS. Peter and Paul Church, 139 North Orchard St., Wallingford, CT 06492 or to the charity of ones' choice.

Dan W. DeLuca Jr.

DANBURY -- Dan W. DeLuca, 30 died suddenly at home on Thursday, May 23, 2002.

He was born on July 28, 1971, in Meriden, a son to Dan W. DeLuca Sr. of Meriden and Jean Galentine and his stepfather, Thomas of Meriden. Dan had attended O.H. Platt High School and was a veteran of the Army Reserve during the Gulf War.

In addition to his parents and stepfather, he is survived by a sister, Sheri and her husband, Mike Kroll of Meriden; and a niece and nephew; in addition to several aunts and uncles.

There will be NO CALLING HOURS. A private memorial service will take place at a later date. The burial was private. The Szymaszek-Taylor Funeral Home, 189 East Main St., Meriden is handling the arrangements.

Robert S. Dudek

SOUTHINGTON -- Robert S. Dudek, 72, of Zephyrhills, Fla., formerly of Southington, died May 22, 2002. He was the husband of Lorraine (Kraszewski) Dudek.

Born in Meriden on Aug. 27, 1929, the son of the late Andrew and Viola (Murdzek) Dudek. Hew was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW and the Eagles and also the UAW Local #133. Mr. Dudek was a former member of the Spartan's Athletic Club. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Fafnir Bearing Co. in New Britain.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lynne Ann and Kent Smith of Southington; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert A. and Elizabeth Dudek of Bristol; a brother, Leonard Dudek of Meriden; three grandchildren, Kent Smith III, Caitlin and Meghan Dudek; and several nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Thomas Church at 10 a.m. for a Mass. Burial with military honors will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Marie E. Melillo

WALLINGFORD -- Marie E. Melillo, 49, of Elm Hill Drive, died Friday, May 24, 2002, at the MidState Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Meriden, June 16, 1952, she was a beloved daughter of John A. and Theresa "Terry" Dunham Melillo of Wallingford. She had been a lifelong Wallingford resident. She had been employed by the former Corometrics in Wallingford for 27 years and was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford.

Besides her beloved parents, she is survived by her sister, Anita L. Melillo Zandri of the Yalesville section of Wallingford; her brother, John P. Melillo and his wife, Alicia of Middletown; her niece, Danielle Zandri; her two nephews, Anthony and Nicholas Melillo; her godparents, Marion DeManulle, and Nicholas Gagliardi, both of Florida; her dear friends, Elizabeth Foell, Sandra Brito, Jim LeRoy; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St., Ext., Wallingford, Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, at 9:30 a.m. from the Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the Most Holy Trinity Church Preservation Project, 68 N. Colony St., Wallingford, CT 06492.

Mary O. Sault

WEST HARTFORD -- Mary Olive Sault, 84, of 2021 Albany Ave., devoted wife of the late Emmons Sault, died peacefully Thursday, May 23, 2002, at the Saint Mary Home in West Hartford.

Born in Meriden on Oct. 15, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Katherine Bullock. Mrs. Sault attended local schools and graduated from St. Joseph's College in West Hartford in 1933, with a degree in education. She was a teacher at St. Joseph School in Meriden. Mary was an avid reader who loved animals, politics, and intelligent spirited conversation.

She is survived by many dear friends including, Rev. Frederick Cwiekowski of Menlo Park, Calif., and Robert Cwiekowski of Easton, Pa.

Family and friends are invited to attend a service to be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Home, 2021 Albany Ave., West Hartford, CT. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meriden. Friends may call prior to the service from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden.

Jeannette Wallace

CHESHIRE -- Jeannette Frisbie Wallace died May 20 at Brook Hollow, Wallingford. She was a resident of Cheshire and formerly of New Canaan.

She was born in 1913, the daughter of Charles Gillette Frisbie and Jeannette Rogers Frisbie and raised in West Hartford and Madison. A graduate of The Oxford School in West Hartford, (now Kingswood Oxford); Miss Porter's School, Farmington, and Vesper George Art School, Boston.

She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Norton Lenoue of New Canaan, Wendy Rogers Norton of Ahoski, N.C.; and her son, Charles Frisbie Norton of Baltimore, Md.; her grandchildren, David R. Lenoue of N.Y.C., Michelle Ann Lenoue of San Francisco, David Sime and Thea Sime of California and Darby Wallace of Ithaca, N.Y; two nieces and a nephew, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Charlotte Frisbie Gardner; husbands, Charles Sterling Norton and William Barkly Wallace; and stepson Jim Wallace.

A memorial service and reception will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15th at the First Congregational Church, On-the-Green, Cheshire. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cheshire Animal Volunteers, 500 Highland Ave., Cheshire, CT 06410, or Franciscan Home Care, P.O. Box 4001, Meriden, CT 06451. The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main St., is in charge of arrangements.

Edward J. Isaacs

CHESHIRE -- Edward James Isaacs, 91, of 498 Juniper Lane, died Saturday, May 25, 2002, at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara (Thompson) Isaacs.

Mr. Isaacs was born May 3, 1911, in New Haven, son of the late James and Elsa (Zimmerman) Isaacs. He grew up in New Haven, graduated from Hillhouse High School before serving in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1940 until 1945. He was a First Lieutenant in the Adjutant General's Office of the 4th Service Command in Atlanta, Ga. He returned to Connecticut after the war in 1945 and he and his wife moved to Hamden. He was active in and became president of the Hamden Civic Association and was also a member of the American Legion Post 88 in Hamden. In 1954, he moved to Cheshire where he has resided for the past 48 years. Mr. Isaacs was employed by SNET until he retired in 1976 with 48 years of service. He was supervisor in the Plant Engineering Department at 300 George St. He was a member of the Morris F. Tyler Chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America and was a member of the Loafer's Club of New Haven and the Liberty Street Gang of the SNET Co. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Cheshire and a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Cheshire.

Besides his wife of over 59 years, he leaves two sons, Edward Isaacs Jr. of Stuart, Fla. and Richard Isaacs of Huntsville, Ala.; and a daughter, Linda Ewaskio of Wallingford; four grandchildren, Matthew and Megan Northrop of Wallingford, Jacqueline and Gregory Isaacs of Huntsville, Ala.; a step-grandson, Todd Tripoli of Tampa, Fla.; and a great-granddaughter, Cassandra Northrop of Philadelphia, Pa. He was predeceased by a son, John C. Isaacs; and a sister, Carolyn Ives.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Peter's Church Cemetery, Cheshire. Friends may call the Slater Funeral Home, 242 S. Main St., Cheshire, on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Contributions may be made to St. Peter's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, 59 Main St., Cheshire, CT 06410.
