Allyson LeTourneau

WALLINGFORD -- Allyson LeTourneau Flynn, 27, died suddenly in her home Sunday, June 9, 2002.

She was born Oct. 19, 1974, in Meriden, and lived most of her life in Wallingford. She was the wife of Steven Flynn of Windsor. She was a graduate of Holy Trinity School and Lyman Hall High School of Wallingford. At the time of her death was employed at Henny Penny Corporation in Meriden.

Besides her husband, Allyson leaves her two beloved children, Daniel Flynn and Lauren Dihlmann; her parents, John and Barbara Letourneau; sister, Kristen LeTourneau; brother, William LeTourneau; her grandparents, Helen LeTourneau of Killingworth and William and Edith Soboslai of Wallingford; she will be missed by her aunts and uncles, Ellen Hutchinson and Robert Bartolotta of Memphis, Tenn., John and Patricia Hutchinson of Killingworth, Robin and Leonard Bienasz of Meriden, Peter and Marie LeTourneau of NYC, Mark and Joan Soboslai of Westport, Thomas and Kathleen Soboslai of Wallingford and her many wonderful cousins. Her natural father, William Soboslai and his wife, Linda of Meriden; also survive Allyson.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home 809 North Main St., Ext., Wallingford, Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to The Church of the Resurrection, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the Children's Education Fund, c/o Attorney Gerald E. Farrell, Jr., 375 Center St. Wallingford, CT. 06492.

Mary Kovacs

WALLINGFORD -- Mary Svab Kovacs, 89, of Williams Road, formerly of East Side Terrace, Wallingford, died Sunday, June 9, 2002 in her home. She was the wife of the late Frank Kovacs.

Born in Bridgeport, Aug. 24, 1912, a daughter of the late James and Barbara Kurovics Ivan, she was a Stratford resident for many years before moving to Wallingford 10 years ago. She was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church, and had been a parishioner of Holy Trinity Greek Catholic Church in Bridgeport.

Mrs. Kovacs is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Wallace Lyman of Wallingford; her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Diana Svab of Fort Knox, Ky.; her daughter-in-law, Katherine Smith-Bodor of Naugatuck; her grandchildren, Wallace Lyman Jr., Jennifer Lyman, Joseph Smith, Michelle Hughes and Karen Smith; her sister, Veronica Magyar of Hamden; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph Svab; and her grandson, Brian Lyman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Most Holy Trinity Church. Interment will be at 12:15 p.m. in St. Michael's Cemetery in Stratford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the MidState VNA and Hospice, 658 Broad St., Meriden, CT 06450, or to the American Liver Foundation, 1425 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove, N.J. 07009. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, CT.

Robert B. Calvert Jr.

MERIDEN -- Robert B. Calvert Jr., 79, of Victoria Drive, in Meriden, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at the Meriden Center. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis Durkee Calvert.

Born May 3, 1923, in Hartford, he was a son of the late Robert B. Calvert Sr. and the late Leona Taylor Calvert, and had resided in Wallingford and Durham for many years until moving to Meriden recently. He had been employed as a supervisor at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in North Haven for over 35 years until his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp, having served during World War II, a member of the VFW Post No. 10840, in Union Hall, VA, a life member of the Durham Rod and Gun Club and a member of the National Rifle Association.

Besides his wife, Phyllis, he is survived by his daughter, Roxanne B. Calvert; his two granddaughters, Jennifer Zebarth and Melissa Calvert; his great-grandson, Andrew Zebarth; his daughter-in-law, Regina Di Domenico, all of Meriden; and his brother, John Calvert, of Harrison, ME. He was predeceased by his son, Robert B. Calvert III.

His family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 14, in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street, Ext., Wallingford. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the Wallingford Funeral Home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Make a Wish Foundation, 940 White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT 06611.

Roland A. Gagne

SOUTH MERIDEN -- Roland A. Gagne, 71, of Dee Avenue, husband of Genny Stevens Gagne, died on Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at MidState Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born Nov. 29, 1930, in Meriden, the son of the late Ubald and Eva Rosseau Gagne, he had resided in South Meriden for the past 39 years. Mr. Gagne had attended St. Laurent Parochial School and was employed by New Departure, Hyatt-Bearing Division in Meriden. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the U.S. Army. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and a lifetime member of the South Meriden Volunteer Fire Department.

Besides his wife, Genny, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Robert Borkowski of Harrisburg, N.C.; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Sheri Gagne of Meriden; six grandchildren, Michael, Lindsey, Nicole, Crystal, Stephanie and Amanda; one brother, Norman Gagne of Meriden; also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Ernest and Raymond; and two sisters, Eva and Dora.

The funeral will be held at 10:15 a.m. Friday, June 14, from the John J. Ferry and Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, and at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. Burial with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Rosalie Mrozowski

BRANFORD -- Rosalie Mary Mrozowski, 38, of Bradley Street, Branford, formerly of High Street, Middletown, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at the Hospital of Saint Raphael in New Haven.

She was born in Middletown, daughter of the late Frank and Helena (Truskowski) Mrozowski. She was employed by the U.S. Post Office in Wallingford.

She leaves two brothers and sisters-in-law, Francis and Laura Mrozowski of Southington, and Paul and Diane Mrozowski of Middletown; a sister, Juliann Mrozowski of Branford; also a nephew, several nieces, aunts and uncles.

The funeral will be at 8:15 a.m. Friday, June 14, from the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, followed by a funeral liturgy at 9 a.m. in St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Middletown. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to the Hospital of Saint Raphael, Floor West, 1450 Chapel St., New Haven, CT 06511.

Sophie Sheptock

WALLINGFORD -- Sophie Siedlicki Sheptock, 78, of Colonial Lane, Wallingford, beloved wife of John Sheptock, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at her residence.

A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Church, 139 N. Orchard St., Wallingford, on a day and time to be announced. Interment will be private. THERE WILL BE NO CALLING HOURS. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the Leukemia Society of America, 300 Research Parkway, Suite 310, Meriden, CT 06450.

Ronald A. Stokarski

WESTBROOK -- Ronald A. Stokarski, 51, of Westbrook, left this world for a better place Monday, June 10, 2002, at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Born in Plattsburg, N.Y., he was the son of the late Henry Stokarski and Norma (Scripture) Oaks. Mr. Stokarski was a construction foreman for various companies and was an avid outdoorsman with a special love for the Adirondack Mountains.

He is survived by his life partner, Rena Dooney of Westbrook and her family; two sisters, Sandra Doucette and her husband, John, and Dawn Olsen and her family, all of Meriden; godson, Jeffrey Doucette and his family of Meriden; one uncle, Edward Stokarski of New Britain; one aunt, Leona Ciandella of North Carolina; godmother, Joyce Gilbert of New York; and several cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 14, at the Evergreen Cemetery, Green Hill Road, Killingworth. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ronald's memory to the Adirondack Assoc., c/o Sandra Doucette, 48 Meetinghouse Ridge, Meriden, CT 06450.

Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton, is in charge of arrangements.

Frederick H. Witt Jr.

SOUTHINGTON -- Frederick H. Witt Jr., 65, of the Plantsville section of Southington, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at Tandem Health Care Center.

Born June 14, 1936, in Plantsville, son of the late Frederick H. and Anne Roberts Witt, he had been a life long Plantsville resident. Mr. Witt attended Plantsville School, Lincoln-Lewis Junior High School and was a graduate of Wilcox Technical School in Meriden. He began his work career as a master mechanic for Height Buick on North Main Street in Southington and left there to manage the service department of Lowe Dodge in Hartford. He was a member of the Southington Moose Lodge and the Sons of Italy Club. Many years ago, he was involved in stock car racing with his car driven by Pat DellaVecchia.

He leaves a sister, Doris Witt Hanser; a nephew, Frederick J. Serafino and his wife, Laura; and his beloved grand-nephew, Joshua John Serafino.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 14, at the Plantsville Memorial Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Quinnipiac Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

Louis Cerrone

MIDDLETOWN -- Louis Cerrone, 67, of Woodbury Circle, Middletown, formerly of Meriden, beloved husband of Shirley (Scanlon) Cerrone, died Wednesday at the Middlesex Hospital. He was born in Meriden, son of Jennie (Busa) Cerrone of Meriden and the late Anthony Cerrone. Prior to his retirement, he was a truck driver for Suzio Construction in Meriden. He was a member of the North Italian Club of Meriden and retired from the Teamsters Union Local 677.

Besides his wife and mother, he leaves three sons, Charles Cerrone of Middletown, Anthony Cerrone and Michael Cerrone, both of Meriden; a daughter, Deborah Cerrone of Meriden; a sister, Mary Lou Maniscalco of Meriden; and three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Biega Funeral Home Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Middlesex Weiss Hospice Unit, Middlesex Hospital, Office of Philanthropy, 28 Crescent St., Middletown, CT 06457.

Gabrielle S. "Gaby" Cimino

MERIDEN -- Gabrielle S. "Gaby" Cimino, wife of John J. Cimino, died on Thursday, June 13, 2002, at Masonic Home in Wallingford. Born in New Britain on March 22, 1941, the daughter of the late Chester and Mary (Mariotti) Slepski, she had resided in Meriden most of her life and graduated from Berlin High School. Mrs. Cimino owned and operated Gaby's Cafe in Southington for many years and was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church.

Besides her husband, John, she is survived by one daughter: Christina M. Buck of Meriden; a step-daughter: Gayle Cimino of Hamden; two sons and daughters-in-law: Wayne and Bernadette Buck of Berlin and Steven M. and Kelly Buck of Glastonbury; a step-son: George Cimino of Hamden; three grandchildren: Michael, Gregory, and Rachel Buck of Berlin; one brother and sister-in-law: Chester and Lynn Slepski of Gaithersburg, MD; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Marva Rasche of East Berlin, Christine and Greg Arute of Westwood, MA, and Mary and John Chojnicki of Marlborough; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The Funeral will be held on Monday, June 17, 2002, at 8:45 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church, Meriden. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, June 16, 2002, from 3 to 7 p.m. Should friends desire, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave., P.O. Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450-1004.
