Kathleen Sirois

KENSINGTON -- Kathleen "Kathy" (Beaulieu) Sirois, 61, of Kensington, beloved wife of Daniel Sirois entered into eternal peace at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, July 22, 2002 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was a member of St. Paul's Church, Kensington and also the Ladies of St. Ann at St. Peter's Church in New Britain, and St. Jean Baptiste Ladies Auxillary. She was born on June 15, 1941 to the late Exias and Emily Beaulieu of Van Buren, Maine. She attended schools in Van Buren before moving to New Britain in 1961.

In addition to her loving husband of 39 years, she is survived by three sons, Gary D. and his wife, Mary Sirois of Kensington, Michael J. Sirois of Berlin and David A. and his wife, Megan Sirois also of Kensington; three loving grandchildren, Sarah A., Patrick J. and Allison C. Sirois of Kensington; she also leaves two brothers, Joe "Guy" Beaulieu of Van Nuys, Calif., and Donald Beaulieu of Van Buren, Maine; six sisters, Jeanne Bissonnette of Lewiston, Maine, Joanne Gagnon of Warren, Maine, Marie Brantley of St. Cloud, Fla., Germaine Young Blood of Panama City, Fla., Cecile Rooks of Meriden and Yvette Rossignol of Van Buren, Maine; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters Aline Beaulieu and Teresa Beaulieu; and one brother, Chanel Beaulieu. and She will be deeply missed by her many friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9 a.m. at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, Kensington. Burial will take place in Maple Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, New England Division, 538 Preston Ave., P.O. Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450.

Emma J. Tryon

SOUTHINGTON -- Emma J. Wheaton Tryon, 87, of Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike, died Friday, July 19, 2002, at her residence. She was the beloved wife of Robert K. Tryon.

Born in Newport, R.I., Nov. 20, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Rufus and Helen Allard Wheaton and had been a Southington resident for over 50 years. She had been employed by the Allied Control Inc., of Plantsville for several years, a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Southington, a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Southington, a member of the former Cross Trailers Square Dance Club of Meriden, the NEFCA Squares, the North American Family Camping Association and the FC and RV Association. She was a volunteer at the Bradley Hospital for many years and had been the recipient of the 1000 hour award.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two stepsons and daughters-in-law, Roger C. Tryon and his wife Fern of Old Saybrook and Gary A. Tryon and his wife, Sandrah of Edgewater, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Gerald P. Crompton.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service Thursday in the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Memorial Fund, 145 Main St., Southington, CT 06489.

Susan H. Welin

WARREN, R.I. -- Susan H. Welin, 43, of 27 Hope St., Warren, Rhode Island, died Sunday, July 21, 2002 at Miriam Hospital, Providence, R.I. She was the wife of William J. Mack.

She was born in Attleboro, Mass., and raised in Wallingford, daughter of Leonard H. and Mary Lou (Heermans) Welin, both of Wallingford. A resident of Warren for eight years, she previously resided in New York City area. She was an Attorney at Law for the Community Mediation Center of Rhode Island on Broad St., Providence for over three years. She previously worked for over three years with the Public Defenders Office for the State of Rhode Island. She began her career in New York City, working for Legal Aid in Manhattan. Mrs. Welin was a communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church, Barrington, R.I., she received her BA degree from Gordon College and J.D. degree from Boston College School of Law. She was a member of the Warren Preservation Society, the Rhode Island and New York Bar Association, the Gordon College and Boston College Alumni Associations. She was an avid flower gardener and ceramic artisan. An accomplished musician, she played the flute, guitar and saxophone along with her vocal talent.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by a son, Austin W. Mack of Warren, R.I.; twin brothers, The Rev. Gregory W. Welin of New Haven and Jeffrey H. Welin of Magnolia, Mass.; and 18 nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Requiem Eucharist Service, Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. John's Episcopal Church, 191 County Road, (Route 114,) Barrington, R.I. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut St., Bristol, R.I. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in St. John's Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan Welin Mediation Scholarship Fund, c/o Community Mediation Center of Rhode Island, 570 Broad St., Providence, R.I. 02907. Arrangements by the Sansone Funeral Home, Bristol, R.I.

RICHARD G. CAFFERY

WALLINGFORD -- Richard G. Caffery, 68, of Highland Ave., Wallingford, died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Dolores Stefanucci Caffery.

Born in Bellefonte, Pa., July 16, 1934, he was a son of the late Joseph J. and Maude Glenn Caffery, and had been a Wallingford resident for many years. He lived the last few years of his life in the care of the wonderful staff at The Alzheimer's Resource Center in Southington. He was a graduate of Rutgers University, and was the Vice President of Francis R. Caplan and Company of Hartford for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Yalesville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed the simple things in life, and his greatest joy was his family.

Besides his wife Dolores, he is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Doreen J. and David D. DuChette of Cheshire and Laura C. and William Sioholm Jr. of North Haven; his son and daughter-in-law, Glenn R. and Colleen M. Caffery of Leyden, Mass.; his five grandchildren, Krista and Rick DuChette, Emily and Celia Caffery and Billy Sioholm; his sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Art Gibb of Michigan; his two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Carol Caffery of West Milford, N.J., and Tom and JoAnn Caffery of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to celebrate Dick's life, Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Yalesville United Methodist Church, located on the corner of Route 68 and New Place St., in Yalesville. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Yalesville United Methodist Church Building Fund, 8 New Place St., Yalesville, CT 06492, or to the Alzheimer's Association South Central CT Chapter, 2911 Dixwell Ave., No. 104, Hamden, CT 06518. Arrangements are under the direction of the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main Street, Yalesville section of Wallingford.

Arthur L. Duell

JUPITER, Fla. -- Arthur L. Duell, 83, of Jupiter, Fla., formerly of Meriden, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002 at the Hospice of Palm Beach County in West Palm Beach, Fla. He was the beloved husband of Faith Ruede Duell.

Born in White Plains, N.Y., Feb. 25, 1919, he was a son of the late Edward and Pauline Lasher Duell. He had been employed by New Departure division of General Motors and was a member of the Masonic Lodge AF and AM of Meriden. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army 84th Division Co. G 335 as a Rail Splitter.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Deborah Fogg and her husband, Bruce of Southington; his four sons, David Duell and his wife, Elona of Holly Springs, N.C., James Clark and his wife, Eileen of Yalesville, Thomas Clark and his wife, Georgine of Meriden and Matthew Clark of Goldsboro, N.C.; his six grandchildren, Heather Duell, Brian and Erin Savereaux and Ryan, Taylor and Justin Clark; his sister, Mary Duell Marturano of Kensington; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Emily Wojick Duell; his sister, Rosalie Sullivan; and his two brothers, Chester and John Duell.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service Saturday, Aug. 3, in the Faith Living Church, 12 Grove St., Southington at 12 p.m. Interment will be private in the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, Fla 33407. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford.

Frances M. Milici

WALLINGFORD -- Frances M. D'Amato Milici, 73, beloved wife of Anthony J. Milici Sr. of Ward St., Wallingford, died Monday, July 22, 2002 at Hartford Hospital.

Mrs. Milici was born in Springfield, Mass., June 28, 1929, a daughter of the late John and Mary Marini D'Amato, was a 1948 graduate of Springfield Technical High School, and had attended Gaugh School of Business in Springfield. She had been a Wallingford resident since her marriage in 1958 was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford, and was a member of the Ladies Guild of the Parish. She was also a member of the American Liver Foundation.

Besides her devoted husband, Anthony, she is survived by her beloved family; her daughter and son-in-law, Janet Marie Milici Lewis and Robert R. Lewis of Branford; her two sons, Anthony J. Milici Jr. and David J. Milici, both of Wallingford; her four grandchildren, Rand Lewis, Marjorie Lewis, Anthony Lewis and Helen Milici; her sister and brother-in-law, Agnes Chartier and James Chartier of Springfield; her two brothers and sister-in-law, John D'Amato and Helen D'Amato and Lawrence D'Amato, all of Boca Raton, Fla.; her brother-in-law, John J. Milici Sr. of Wallingford; and several nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the American Liver Foundation, CT Chapter, 110 Washington Ave., North Haven, CT 06473.

Rene Serra

WALLINGFORD -- Rene Serra, 49, of Parker St., Wallingford, died Monday, July 22, 2002 at The Connecticut Hospice in Branford.

Born in Cardenas, Cuba, Dec. 19, 1952, he was the son of Rene V. Serra of Miami Beach, Fla., and the late Maria T. Rios Serra, and was a Wallingford resident for many years. He was employed by Super KMART of Wallingford, as a Front End Supervisor for two years and had been a student of Martial Arts for four years.

He is survived by his daughter, Hannah Joy Serra of Sommerset, Pa.; his son, Nicholas Joseph Serra of Meriden; and his sister, Daisy Serra of Wallingford.

His family will receive relatives and in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street, Ext., Wallingford, Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave., Meriden, CT 06450.

Eric R. Lawson

MERIDEN -- Eric R. Lawson, 86, formerly of Paddock Ave., died Saturday, July 20, 2002 in Hawaii while visiting his son. He was the husband of the late Viola Helen Salamandra Lawson.

He was born in Hopkinton, N.H., March 24, 1916, a son of the late Arthur V. and Anna Olson Lawson. He worked as a machinist at the Charles Parker Company and later he retired as a salesman for A-1 Recreational Vehicles in 1979.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Donald Corkum of Madison, Wis.; a son and daughter-in-law, Reginald and Lauren Lawson of Waikoloa, Hawaii; a brother, John Lawson of Hudson, Wis.; five grandchildren, Sheri Corkum of Toronto, Canada, Rhonda Muchiutti of Clinton, Mass., Brian Corkum of Calgary, Alberta, Calif., Neal Lawson of Bolder, Colo., and Jennifer Helbeley of Reno, Nev. He was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur Lawson, Clarence Lawson; and a sister, Marie Ishkanian.

A funeral service will be held Friday, July 26, at 3 p.m. at the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Mr. Lawson's sons-in-law, Donald Corkum will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Contributions may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 300 Paddock Ave., Meriden, CT 06450.

Muriel A. Madden

SEYMOUR -- Muriel A. Madden, 79, of Shady Knoll Convalescent Home and formerly of Milford and Southington died Tuesday, July 23, 2002. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Madden.

She was born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., on Feb. 12, 1923, daughter of the late Philip and Agnes Kenny Roche. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She was a retired Sales Clerk for Alexander's and Caldor's.

She is survived by two daughters, Cindy A. Madden of Seymour and Ellen M. Marks of Cheshire; one brother, Philip J. Roche of Pelham, N.J.; two grandchildren, Stephanie M. Marks of Southington and Ryan M. Marks of Cheshire; one great-grandchild, Ellie C. Marks; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Regina Sliney and Mary Madden.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:15 a.m. at the Anthony V. Chepullis Funeral Home, 47 Washington Ave., Seymour for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Augustine's Church. Interment in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions, may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation through the funeral home.
