Alfred P. Goglia

HAMDEN -- Alfred P. "Freddy" Goglia, 80, of 74 Lynmoor Place, died Monday, July 29, 2002. He was the widower of Arlene Coriale Goglia.

Mr. Goglia was employed as a tool maker for G & O Manufacturing Co., until 1984. He later worked for Petra Construction Co., and East Rock Package Store. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He is survived by four daughters, Marion Hunt of Branford, Jo-Ann Wojtunik of Meriden, Donna Goglia of Hamden, with whom he resides and Jacqueline Goglia-Tollett of Devon, England; two sisters, Josephine Ditta and Anna Cipollini, both of Hamden; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Marion D'Ambrosio and Lucille Agostini; and a brother, Adam Goglia Jr.

Friends may call at the Celentano Funeral, 424 Elm St., New Haven, Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a Mass in St. Stephen's Church, Hamden, Friday at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors, in Beaverdale Memorial Park.

Carolyn S. Camire

MERIDEN -- Carolyn S. Camire, 61, of Metacomet Drive, Meriden, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002 in her home surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous 12 year battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Arnold N. Camire, Sr.

Born in Franklin, N.H., April 17, 1941, a daughter of the late Arnold Amasa St. Onge and the late Myra Bunnell St. Onge Cote, she was a Wallingford resident for many years before moving to Meriden. She had been employed by the Novametrics Co., in Wallingford for several years and previously had been employed by Stanley-Judd Co, Wallace Silversmiths, and Stone Safety, all of Wallingford, and Schultz Electric of New Haven. She was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Camire is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cherie C. Lowry and Peter Lowry of Irasburg, Vt.; her two sons and daughters-in-law, Arnold N. Camire Jr., and Pamela S. Camire of Meriden, Mark B. Camire and Grace Y. Camire of Kensington; her granddaughter, Samantha Grace Camire; her five brothers and sisters-in-law, Louis and Patricia St. Onge of East Hempsted, N.H., Thomas and Maryann St. Onge of New Britain, Norman and Jeannie St. Onge of Stratford, Francis James St. Onge and Arnold Amasa "Squeaky" St. Onge Jr. and Mattie St. Onge, all of Meriden; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol and Steve Sendobry of No. Salt Lake City, Utah; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Ida Gilbeau.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St., Ext., Wallingford Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from The Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m.. Interment will be private in St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the Franciscan Home Care 267 Finch Ave, Meriden, CT, 06451.

Calvin O. Crouse Sr

AURORA, Colo. -- Calvin Owen Crouse Sr., AKA: Cal Cal Houn, born in Meriden on Sept. 11, 1931 has left this world on Wednesday, June 17, 2002 to go live with our lord. He was the son of George Owen Crouse and Laura Backman.

He leaves behind his wife, Elizabeth Ann Ennis Crouse of 49 years; and nine children, Laura Crouse and Dennis Smith of Meriden, Louise Crouse, Lynn Emerson, Charlotte (Richard) Starrett, Loretta (Kurt) Davis, Calvin (Sheila) Crouse and Michael (Kim) Crouse, all of Colorado, Lisa (Wilberto) Cordero of California and George (Lisa) Crouse of Wisconsin; 22 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Calvin worked most of his life at International Silver. When Calvin was a young boy, he taught himself how to play the guitar. Later in his years he formed a hillbilly band called the Ozark Mountaineers where he loved and enjoyed entertaining thousands all over. He loved hiking, fishing, stamp collecting and coin collecting. Calvin's main desire in the last five years of his life was preaching the word of God. Calvin always said, that he may not have a lot of money, but was richly blessed by his children.

Arthur L. Duell

JUPITER, Fla. -- Arthur L. Duell, 83, of Jupiter, Fla., formerly of Meriden, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002 at the Hospice of Palm Beach County in West Palm Beach, Fla. He was the beloved husband of Faith Ruede Duell; and grandfather of Aaron Favereaux.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service Saturday, Aug. 3, in the Faith Living Church, 12 Grove St., Southington at 12 p.m. Interment will be private in the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, Fla 33407. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford.

Arthur E. Pfeiffer

MERIDEN -- Arthur Emil Pfeiffer, 83, of 903 East Main St., died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at MidState Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Gladys Elizabeth Preece Pfeiffer.

Born in Meriden on Jan. 17, 1919, he was the son of the late William L. and Eliese Keyes Pfeiffer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was the owner of Parkway Cleaners in Meriden.

He is survived by a son, Arthur John Pfeiffer of Meriden; a sister, Julie Kennison of Sun City, Ariz.; a special nephew, Richard Fontaine of Wallingford; a sister-in-law, Helen Pfeiffer of Meriden; two nieces, Donna Cyr and Barbara Bickford, both of Meriden; and several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Gertrude Brunell and Johanna Gagne; and three brothers, Walter Pfeiffer, Arnold Pfeiffer and William Pfeiffer.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 5, at 11 a.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. Wallace Merdinyan will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. If desired, contributions in Mr. Pfeiffer's memory may be made to MidState Medical Center I.C.U., 435 Lewis Ave., Meriden, CT 06451.

Qunito Colaresi

NEW BRITAIN -- Qunito Colaresi, 85, of New Britain passed away, Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002 at New Britain General Hospital. He was the husband of Lucitta (DiMauro) Colaresi.

He was a lifelong resident of New Britain. He was the son of the late Frank and Theresa Colaresi. He was employed at Stanley Work for 39 years as a machinist, retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. Ann Church.

He is survived by three sons, Father Robert Colaresi of Chicago, Ronald Colaresi of New Britain and Richard Colaresi of Annapolis, Md.; two daughters, Dolores Moroni of Palmer Lake of Colorado and Linda Colaresi of Meriden; one brother, Everett Colaresi; also by eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 5, at 8:45 a.m. from the Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Ann Church. Family and friends may call at the Carlson Funeral Home on Sunday, Aug. 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. Burial will be in the family plot at St. Mary Cemetery. The Sorbo Funeral Home, 26 Union St., New Britain has charge of arrangements.

William A. Anderson

MERIDEN -- William Arvid Anderson, formerly of Parker Ave., Meriden, died Aug. 3, 2002, in Wallingford. He was the husband for 62 years of Catherine McGivney Anderson.

Born in New Britain on May 23, 1918, he was the son of the late Carl and Lovena Webster Anderson. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Anderson retired from the Lane Construction Co. in 1981 as the manager of Data Processing. Active in Civic organizations he was a member of The Meriden Kiwanis Club and the Elks Club. He had served on the Boards of The Friends of the Library, The United Way and Girls Club.

Besides his wife, he is survived by sons, Carl F. Anderson of Bastrop, Texas , Philip M. Anderson and his wife, Shirley of Bristol and James Anderson and his wife, Shirley of Meriden; grandchildren, Steven Anderson of Texas , Amy Graham of California, Laura, Beth, Paul and Sara Anderson of Bristol, Meagan, Martin and Emma Anderson of Meriden, and Jean Loffredo of Ohio. He was predeceased by a daughter, Dorothy Anderson; a son, Paul Anderson; and a brother, Frank Carlson.

The funeral will be held from the Beecher and Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden on Tuesday, Aug. 6th at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in the Church of St. Rose at 10 a.m. Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to the "Friends of the Library", c/o Meriden Public Library, 105 Miller St., Meriden, CT 06450.

Annette Brennan

SOUTHINGTON -- Annette (Mineo) Brennan, 73, of 328 Hobart St., died peacefully at home on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of William F. Brennan.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on April 20, 1929, the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Barbieri) Mineo. Prior to her retirement several years ago she was a secretary at Southington High School. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church.

She is survived by her loving children, William and his wife, Donna Brennan Jr. and Susan and her husband, Isaac Crooms, all of Southington; her cherished grandchildren, Jason and Ryan Delbuono, Jordan and Tyler Crooms, Shawn, Danielle and Connor Brennan; four loving sisters, Concetta Jalbert of Harwich, Mass., Mary Bertrand, Ann Trimboli, both of Springfield, Mass. and Susan Mineo-Gallo of Agawam, Mass.; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., to St. Thomas Church at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian burial. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. Donations may be made in her memory to the Franciscan Hospice Care, 267 Finch Ave., Meriden, CT 06451-2715.

Joseph P. Miller

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Joseph P. Miller, formerly of Meriden, died on July 25th, at age 86.

He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth B. Miller; devoted father of Janet Miller Winnick and her husband, Burton of Weston, Mass., David Miller and his wife, Vickie, of Lexington, Ky.; brother of Julia Hartman, Elizabeth Lineen and Theodore Miller of Meriden, and Irene Foote of Bradenton, Fla. and Katherine Courtney of Orange County, Calif.

A memorial Mass was held on July 27th at St. Julia's Church, Weston, Mass. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.

John J. Rinaldi

MERIDEN -- John J. 'Dinny' Rinaldi, 92, of 42 Windsor Ave., died Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, in the Westfield Care and Rehab Center after a brief illness.

He was born in Meriden, June 6, 1910, a son of the late Joseph and Donata Maria Massaro Rinaldi. He was a lifelong resident. He and his brother, Anthony started Rinaldi's Sporting goods on State Street in 1946. John retired when the store closed in 1983. By that time the business was on Colony Street. John was an avid New York Baseball fan often attending both Yankee and Mets games each year. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

He is survived by six nieces and nephews, MaryLou Church Cone of Hamden, Jerome Rinaldi of Grayling, Mich., Cara Wujcik, Jim Rinaldi and Resa Rinaldi, all of Meriden, and Gina Pulaski of Kensington. Also many grand and great-grand-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Frank, Dominic and Anthony Rinaldi; and a sister, Philomena Rinaldo.

All are invited to his funeral service Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, beginning with visitation in the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 450 Broad Street at 9 a.m., with his Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. He will be interred in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Respecting Mr. Rinaldi's deep devotion to his church, his family requests that friends and family make contributions to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Ave., Meriden, CT 06451.
