Jeanie Sue Perreault

SOUTHINGTON -- Jeanie Sue ( Moore) Perreault, 74, of 40 Claudia Drive, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002 at Coccomo Health Center in Meriden. She was the wife of the late John Perreault.

Born in Marshville, N.C., on Nov. 23, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Connely and Honor Moore.

She is survived by her three sons, Thomas E. Perreault and Charles E. Perreault, both of Southington and John J. Perreault of North Carolina; a sister, Mary Marsh of North Carolina; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to Mary Our Queen Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday.

Leo Ross Jr.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- Leo Ross Jr., 50, formerly of Meriden, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002 after a long illness.

He was the son of the late Leo and Lessie Ross of Meriden. He attended local schools and was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran, serving in the Vietnam War.

He leaves behind a son, Jason Ross of Vermont; two daughters, Omyika Ross Luccio of Playa Del Rey, Calif., and Erica McConner of San Francisco, Calif.; three granddaughters; two sisters, Diana Jamrock and her husband, Stan of Las Vegas, Nev., and Linda Stetson of New Britain; a brother, Roger Ross and his wife, Lisa of Bristol; and many nephews. He will be deeply missed by all.

Services were held at Arlington Mortuary in California on Aug. 19 with military honors. Burial will be at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Calif.

Heidi E. Velazquez

SOUTHINGTON -- Heidi Elizabeth (Cudak) Velazquez, 36, of Southington, formerly of Plainville, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Heidi was born in Pittsfield, Mass., on June 3, 1966, the daughter of Francis and Leonore (Clermont) Cudak of Plainville. She was Valedictorian of Plainville High School, class of 1984, and graduated cum laude from UConn, with an honors degree in English in 1989. She was the office manager at Plainville Chiropractic for the past 10 years, and was an active member of Our Lady of Mercy Church. There she was a member of the Guild of Our Lady, the baptism prep team, Chairperson of the Stewardship Committee, and a former member of the choir. She was also co-chair of the Holy Cross School booster club.

She leaves her husband of 15 years, Nelson Velazquez; and was the proud mother of their children, Andrew David, Matthew Xavier, Katherine Marina and Mary Raquel, all of Southington; She also leaves two brothers, Michael Francis Cudak of Southington and Edward Allan "Teddy" Cudak of Plainville; a sister and brother-in-law, Carol Anne and Carl Franckowski of West Islip, L.I., N.Y.; four nieces; and one nephew.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. as well as Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass, at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St, Plainville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Heidi Fund, c/o Our Lady of Mercy Church, 19 S. Canal St, Plainville, CT 06062.

Margaret Funaro

MERIDEN -- Margaret Funaro passed away in Meriden, Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002.

Mrs. Funaro beloved wife of the late Frank Funaro was born in New Haven, daughter of the late Ludivico Spinelli and Philomena Landino. Was educated in area schools, married and worked for over 40 years for Winchester Repeating Arms.

Mrs. Funaro is survived by her children, Frank (Sue) Funaro of Wallingford, Raymond (Shirley) Funaro of Northford, Phyllis (Leroy) Stanford of Florida; her beloved grandchildren, Brian, Gina, Raymond E., Raymond J., Dawn, Frank and Michael; and seven beloved great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings, Christine Genevieve, Katherine, Michael and Mary.

Lupoli Brothers, 576 Chapel St., Wooster Square, has been placed in care of arrangements. Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian burial Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Burial to follow in All Saints Cemetery.

Percy A. Glidden Jr.

LUBEC, Maine -- Percy A. Glidden Jr., 62, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002, after a four-year courageous battle with Mantel Cell Lymphoma, with his wife, Loretta by his side.

He was born in Marion, Sept. 1, 1939, the son of Percy and Mary (Townsend) Glidden. He was a member of the Shellfish Committee of Lubec and active in the Lubec town meetings. He was employed 13 years by the Maine State Department of Transportation, retiring in 2001.

He was predeceased by a brother, Jimmy in 1984; a sister, Dorcus on Sept. 7, 2001; and a grandson, Robert on May 13, 2002. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Loretta (Dolan) Glidden of Lubec; three sons, Percy Glidden III and his wife, Liz of Durham, Maynard Glidden, Gaylord Glidden and his fiancee, Carol, all of Wallingford; a special sister-in-law, Jill Fountain; one and only daughter, Irene Glidden of Wallingford; four brothers, Joe Glidden and his wife, Maureen of Lubec, Charles Glidden and his wife, Jean of Sanford, Maine, Arthur Glidden and his wife, Sue of Lubec, Peter Glidden and his wife, Lettie of Whiting, Maine; a twin sister, Elizabeth "Betty" and her husband, Allen of Yukon, Okla.; a sister, Patricia Murray and her husband, Leo of Lubec, Maine; seven grandchildren, Brandi, Matthew, Troy, Jeremy, Allison, Sarah and Shane; one great-grandchild, Bryce Michael; a mother-in-law, Irene Fountain of Wallingford; and a father-in-law, Gaylord Dolan of Middlesex, Vt.

A graveside service was held at the Green Acres Cemetery, Lubec, Maine, Sunday at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Scott Wilson Funeral Home, 22 Church St., Calais, Maine, 04619.

Mary Jane Ives

PULASKI, Tenn. -- Mary Jane Miles Ives, 79, of Braly Hollow Road, Pulaski, Tenn., died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002 in the Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation of Ardmore, Tenn. She was the wife of the late John Clark Ives.

Born in New Haven, May 13, 1923, a daughter of the late Ralph Miles and the late Jane Hausman Desmond, she was a Tennessee resident for several years. She was a retired chef who had worked in the catering industry until her retirement.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joan Ives Parisi and Robert F. Parisi of Wallingford; her son, John Ives of Pulaski, Tenn.; her grandchildren, Jennifer Ives Vandiver, Raymond Guidone, Jason and Winifred Guidone; her great-granddaughter, Maryruth Elizabeth Vandiver; her two sisters, Edna Mae Quinlan and Nancy Chiari, both of Florida; her brother, Robert Desmond of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive relatives and friends Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Carr and Erwin Funeral Home, 1228 East College St., Pulaski, Tenn. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the charity of one's choice.

Richard J. Levasseur

MERIDEN -- Richard J. Levasseur, 74, of the Curtis Home, passed away Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002.

He was born in Lille, Maine, Sept 11, 1927, a son of the late Paul and Orise Ouellette Levasseur. He made his home in Meriden most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II. For many years,he worked at New Departure until his early retirement. Some of his most enjoyable times were spent at his place at Hammonasset Beach with his buddies and their women. He loved flying with his friends and challenging people's brains. While living at the Curtis Home he was instrumental with the implementation of many changes of concern to the residents.

He is survived by his three brothers, Gerard and Kathy Levasseur of Groton, Joseph and Marie Levasseur of Clinton and Charles Levasseur of Meriden. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, along with the friends he leaves behind, especially Holly Kopcza, who was so very dear to him, Thank You. A special thanks to all the people at the Curtis Home who touched his life. He was predeceased by his sisters, Germain Levasseur Ouellette and Esther Levasseur Rosch; and his two brothers, Walter and Albert Levasseur.

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation Monday, Sept 2, 2002, in the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 450 Broad Street, from 3 to 6 p.m. Burial will be private.

Jean Sepiol

SOUTHINGTON -- Jean Pacia Sepiol, 93, of the Milldale section of Southington, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. She was the wife of the late Stanley Sepiol.

Born Jan. 3, 1909, in Southington, daughter of the late John Pacia and Mary Milnik Pacia, she was a lifelong Southington resident. Mrs. Sepiol was a lifetime member of the Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church. She graduated from the Hartford Academy of Hair Design, attended Lincoln Lewis High School and graduated from the Pequot Business School. She worked as a hairdresser in Waterbury before working as an inspector for Pratt & Whitney, where she retired in 1974.

Mrs. Sepiol is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Marie Sepiol of Southington; and her sister, Sally Pacia of Southington.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Calling hours are from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday prior to the funeral at the Plantsville Memorial Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Donations in Mrs. Sepiol's memory may be made to the Holy Trinity PNCC Church Building Fund, 200 Summer St., Plantsville, CT 06479.

Irene E. Fretz

MERIDEN -- Irene Estelle Fretz, 77, 694 Old Colony Road, wife of Maynard Fretz Sr., died on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at MidState Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Meriden on July 3, 1925, the daughter of the late Stanley and Anne Mrozowski, she had resided in Meriden all of her life. She had graduated from Meriden schools. Mrs. Fretz was employed by Advance Products of North Haven, retiring in 1972. She was a member of the South Meriden Trinity United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, the D.A.V. Auxiliary and the P.L.A.V. Auxiliary.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Doreen and Robert Le'Herissier of Sandusky, Ohio; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Maynard Jr. and Helen Fretz of Meriden, Glen Cowling of California; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Jean Saunders; and a sister-in-law, Anne Mrozowski, both of Meriden; and a niece. She was predeceased by three sons; and a stepson.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Monday, Sept. 2, at 7 p.m. in the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, with the Rev. Susan DeSousa, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Kevin E. Grace

STRATFORD -- Kevin E. Grace, 29, a self-employed software designer, died suddenly on Friday, Aug. 30, 2002.

Born in New Britain, Kevin grew up in Wallingford, and resided in Stratford since his marriage in June 2001. He was a sports enthusiast and an avid golfer and skier.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Gina Battaglia Grace; his mother, Diane Hinkle Wills and her husband, Jesse, of East Hampton; his father, Brian Grace; grandfather, Chester Hinkle of Knoxville, Tenn.; father, mother and brother-in-law, Achille, Carmela and Frank Battaglia, all of Shelton.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass celebrating Kevin's life on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at 10 a.m. directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton. Interment services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those desiring can make contributions in memory of Kevin to their favorite charity. Friends may greet the family at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
