Maryann Kapustinski

WALLINGFORD -- Maryann Kapustinski, 52, of Laurelwood Drive, died suddenly on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002 at the Hospital of St. Raphael.

Born in Meriden on March 18, 1950, she was the daughter of Bernice McMahon Kapustinski of Meriden and the late Stanley Kapustinski. Ms. Kapustinski was employed in the past by Kuhn Center.

Besides her mother, she is survived by one sister, Joan Spencer of Wallingford; and five brothers, John Kapustinski of Milldale, Stanley Kapustinski Jr. of Meriden, Paul Kapustinski of East Hampton and Joseph Kapustinski and Robert Kapustinski, both of Meriden.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside service to held on Friday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Boniface Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden.

Constance Kozik

CROMWELL -- Constance (Gallina) Kozik, 75, of Cromwell, formerly of Wethersfield, wife of Michael Kozik Jr. died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002.

Connie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Born in Sepino, province of Campobasso, Italy on Dec. 6, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Angelina Gallina.

Besides her husband, Michael, she is survived by her daughter, Mary of Rocky Hill; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Joseph Miranda of South Meriden; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Kozik III and his wife, Debra of Berlin; grandchildren, John Michael, Matthew, Connie, Mark, Jason, Michael, James, Jeffrey and Justin; her sisters, Helen Michaud and Josephine Gallina, both of East Hartford; her brother, John Gallina of Michigan; her sisters-in-law, whom she loved dearly, Shirley LaCava of Wethersfield and Dorothy Lazarz of Hartford; and a wonderful extended family of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Sylvia Marotta.

Funeral services and burial are private. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wethersfield Senior Citizens, 30 Greenfield St., Wethersfield 06109. The D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield is in charge of arrangements.

Frank V. Leone Sr.

HUDSON, Fla. -- Frank V. Leone Sr., 76, of 13009 Sandburst Lane, formerly of 44 Gregory Road, Wallingford and Lancelot Drive, North Haven, died at his home on Monday, Sept. 9, 2002 after a short illness. He was the husband of Marie Caiafo Leone.

He was a civil engineer and contractor and worked for the Mariani Construction Co., from 1955 to 1962 moving up from timekeeper to general superintendent. He then owned and operated the former Leone Construction Co. Inc., of East Haven from 1962 to 1991. He then retired and moved to Florida. He began working for the Pasco Country Highway Department in 1995 and before retiring again in 2002, had become Project Manager for the County in charge of Highway and Bridge Construction projects. He was a World War II Navy veteran serving as a radio man on Guadalcanal and graduated in 1952 from the University of Connecticut with a civil engineering degree.

Besides his wife, Marie, he is also survived by a daughter, Adrianne Leone of North Haven; two sons, Frank V. Leone Jr. of Hamden and Mark and Cherie Leone of Thompson; two step-children, Maria Shileds of Clinton and Dominic Landolfi of South Carolina; three sisters, Anna Aiello of New Haven, Natalie Linteau of Branford and Raffe Strianese of East Haven; two brothers, Salvatore Leone of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Peter Leone of New Haven; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He was predeceased by his first wife, Sandra Christodolou Leone; and three sisters, Carmel Esposito, Antoinette Sicignano and Julia Farace. In addition to his family, he was also lovingly cared for by Mia and Herbie Rauh and family of New Port Richie, Fla., at the end.

Funeral services will be Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, New Haven. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pasco Hernando Hospice, 12107 Majestic Blvd., Hudson, Fla 34667.

Judith Waldron

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. -- Judith (Judi) Gamsby Waldron, 57, of 2731 Northeast 14th St., Pompano Beach, Fla., formerly of North Haven, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002 at the Hospice By The Sea, Boca Raton, Fla. She was the wife of Robert Waldron Jr.

Born in New Haven on May 5, 1945, daughter of the late Kenneth and Virginia Linsley Gamsby. A resident of North Haven for many years until moving to Florida two years ago, she was a local North Haven Artist and a past member of the Wallingford Country Club.

She was the mother of Carol Shabbott of Madison, Robert Waldron of Tinley Park, Ill., and Donald Waldron of North Haven; sister of Linda Phass of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Kenneth (Skip) Gamsby of North Haven; and grandmother of Ashton Leigh Waldron.

Relatives and friends may call at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven, Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services and Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice By The Sea, 1531 West Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, Fla 33486-3395.

William Wiegman

MERIDEN -- William Wiegman, 73, of Meriden, formerly of East Haddam, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002 at MidState Hospital following a long illness.

He was born March 30, 1929 in Springdale, a son of the late William H. and Helen Hurlburt Wiegman. He was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church.

He is survived by a son, Paul Wiegman of Guilford; and a close friend, Natasha Haims of West Hartford.

A private burial will take place at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden, with the Rev. Edmund S. Nadolny officiating. The Szymaszek-Taylor Funeral Home, 189 E. Main St., Meriden is in charge of arrangements.

Robin K. Barton

EAST HADDAM -- Robin K. Sturmer Barton, 38, of Westwood Drive, Moodus section of East Haddam, formerly of Wallingford, beloved wife of David G. Barton, died unexpectedly, Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, at the Hartford Hospital.

Born in Providence, R.I., Sept. 6, 1964, and had been a Wallingford resident for many years until moving to Moodus four years ago. She was a cofounder of the Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention Program in East Haddam.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Jessika Marie Barton of Moodus; her father, Raymond K. Sturmer of Wallingford; her three sisters, Michele Branscomb, of Tampa, Fla., Lori Plouffe of Pawtucket, R.I., and Dena Kist of Green, R.I.; her two brothers, Eric Sturmer of Wallingford, and Ed Rose of Branford; her biological mother, Patricia Phillips of Tampa, Fla.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey David Barton; and her mother, Gwendolyn F. Eastman Sturmer.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St., Ext., Wallingford, Sunday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the First Congregational Church of Wallingford, 23 South Main St., Wallingford. The Rev. Dean O. Wharburton, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash St., East Hartford, CT 06108.

Edmond J. Hudon Sr.

WALLINGFORD -- Edmond J. Hudon Sr., 78, formerly of North Colony St., Wallingford, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002 at The Regency House in Wallingford. He was the husband of the late Mary R. Calabrese Hudon.

Born July 17, 1924, in Dover, N.H., he was a son of the late Wilfred and Alphonsine Doyon Hudon, and had been a Wallingford resident for the past 50 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Meriden Chapter. He had been a custodian for the Wallingford Board of Education until his retirement and was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford.

He is survived by his three sons, Edmond J. Hudon Jr. and his wife, Dorothy A. Hudon of West Palm Beach, Fla., Anthony M. Hudon and Vicki Currier of Wallingford and Thomas D. and Jennifer Hudon of Henderson, Nev.; his three grandchildren, Edmond J. Hudon III and his wife, Terry Hudon, Raymond A. Hudon and Elaina Marie Norotsky and her husband, Scott Norotsky; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Adam Hudon, Darian Cassidy Hudon and Aiden William Hudon; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Edward Banko of Meriden and Lauretta and Chester Keefe of Somersworth, N.H.; a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Concetta and John Marchi and Michael F. Calabrese, all of Wallingford; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond Hudon and Robert Hudon; a sister, Lucienne Hudon; three sisters-in-law, Fortunata Riso, Domenica Galati, and Marie Calabrese; and his brother-in-law, Joseph Calabrese.

His family will receive relatives and friends in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street, Ext., Wallingford Monday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. with a funeral service in the Wallingford Funeral Home, Monday at 11 a.m. Interment with military honors, will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.

Walter Michonski Jr.

WALLINGFORD -- Walter Michonski Jr., 83, of East Center St., Wallingford, died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, in the Meriden Center. He was the beloved husband of 60 years of Christabel Martin Michonski.

Born in Wallingford, March 23, 1919, he was a son of the late Walter Michonski Sr. and Catherine Michonski and had been a lifelong resident. He was employed by the International Silver Company for 44 years until his retirement. He was a World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Army in the European Theater, a member of the VFW Raoul Lufbery Post, No. 591 of Wallingford and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Wallingford.

Besides his wife, Christabel, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Diane C. and Albert N. Pagano, his son and daughter-in-law, Walter M. and Linda J. Michonski, all of Wallingford; five grandchildren, Scott Michonski, Jonathan Michonski, Cherie Guimond, Krista Fowles and Andrea Kosmer; his great-grandson, Jonathan M. Michonski; his sister, Wanda Gawlak of Wallingford and many nieces and nephew. He was predeceased by three sisters, Stella Cummings, Mary Sikorski and Mildred Soltesz; and seven brothers, Jack "Sheik" Leonard, Eward, Bernard, Joseph, Stanley, Felix and William Michonski.

His family will receive relatives and friends in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street, Ext., Wallingford, Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to SS. Peter and Paul Church where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment, with military honors, will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Wallingford.

Norma Brunell

MERIDEN -- Norma (McVeigh) Brunell, 82, of Meriden, wife of the late Charles G. Brunell, died on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002 at her home after a brief illness.

Born in Meriden on July 12, 1920, the daughter of the late William and Esther (Fritz) McVeigh, she had resided in Meriden most of her life. Mrs. Brunell had attended local schools, was a 1938 graduate of Meriden High School and attended Laurel Business College. She appreciated life as one long continuous chain of little joys -- time spent with her grandchildren, reading, swimming, and little clumps of violets by the roadside, nearly hidden away, so only those who have peace and love in their hearts can see them. She was deeply devoted to her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Polly and Robert Pierpont of Meriden, Wendy Brunell and Peter Ostrowski of West Hills, Calif.; one son and daughter-in-law, Colin and Brenda Brunell of Meriden; four grandchildren, Bridget Pierpont, Cyndi Brunell Pryzbek and her husband, Rob Pryzbek and Kelly Brunell and Tommy Slack and family; and one great-grandchild, Spencer Pryzbek. She was predeceased by a sister, Kathleen DeAngelis of Meriden.

The funeral and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Special thanks to the staffs of the Wallingford, VNA, Masonic Acute Care Unit and Rehab and CT VNA and Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden.
