Frances Tomassetti

MERIDEN -- Frances Davino Tomassetti, wife of the late Edward G. Tomassetti, died peacefully on Friday, Jan. 17, 2003.

She was born in Waterbury, on April 9, 1916, the daughter of the late Dominic and Concetta Grecco Davino.

She is survived by her son, Edward F. Tomassetti and his wife, Lorraine LeFort Tomassetti; two granddaughters, Mary Beth Krzyston and her husband, John and Lorraine Lee Tomassetti; she also leaves two sisters, Jane Civitate and Ann Indorf; a brother, Mario Davino; three great-grandchildren, Leigh Mary, John Edward and Jakob Anthony Krzston; as well as several nieces and nephews; and many caring friends. She is predeceased by four sisters, Philomena DiBeneditto, Mae Graveline, Theresa Martino, and Mana Markowski; a brother, John Davino; and her great-granddaughter, Katherine Helen Krzyson.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden. The family request that donations in behalf of Mrs. Tomassetti's memory be made to the Meriden-Wallingford Ostomy Association in care of Helen Coty, 23 Elika Road, Wallingford, CT 06492.

Sandra Trybulski

MERIDEN -- Sandra Trybulski, wife of David Trybulski and mother of Eric Trybulski, died Jan. 18, 2003, at her home in Meriden.

She was born in Waterbury, Dec. 29, 1955, the daughter of Alfred Ziemba of Cromwell and Marie Zdeb Matcho of Meriden. A lifelong resident of Meriden, she attended local schools and was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church.

Besides her husband, David and son, Eric and her parents, she leaves two brothers, Frederick Ziemba of Weathersford, Okla. and Alan Ziemba of West Haven; and a sister, Linda Verdolini of Middletown. She was predeceased by a brother, Carl Scott Ziemba.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. The family request that donations in behalf of Sandra's memory be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06450.

Muriel Erickson

WALLINGFORD -- Muriel Erickson, 89, of 865 Durham Road died suddenly Monday, Jan. 20, 2003 at 185 Center St., Wallingford. She was the wife of Charles Erickson Sr.

She was born in Pittson, Pa., on May 14, 1913, a daughter of the late Charles and Verna Polen Hermann. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Erickson was employed at Choate School. She had attended the Yalesville United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, Charles, she is survived three sons, Charles E. Erickson Jr. and his wife, Joanne of Wallingford, Howard Hart Jr. and his wife, Mary Ellen of Cortland, N.Y., and John Hart and his wife, Gail of Meriden; a sister, Jessie Snedeker of Claremont, N.H.; 14 grandchildren including Kate and Ellen Erickson of Wallingford; and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Howard Hart; a brother, Charles Hermann; and two sisters, Nettie Smith and Gertrude Griswold.

The funeral service and burial at In Memoriam Cemetery will be private. If friends so desire gifts in her memory may be made to the Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care, P.O. Box 4001, Meriden, CT 06450. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford, CT 06492 is in charge of the arrangements.

Barbara A. Esteves

WALLINGFORD -- Barbara A. (Goss) Esteves, 57, of 11-Laurelview Park, Wallingford, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a long illness.

Ms. Esteves was born in Elmira, N.Y., May 19, 1945. She was the daughter of the late Helen McCormick. Ms. Esteves was employed at the Cost Cutters in Meriden as a hairdresser. She worked there for over five years until her death. She was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force. She was station at the Otis Air Force Base at Falmouth, Mass., from 1963 to 1965. In 1965 she was discharged from the Air Force with an Honorable Discharge. She was a resident of Wallingford for the past 16 years, were she served as an instructor at the Gal Mar Academy of Hairdressing for approximately eight years. She was a graduate of the Academy and former owner of Second Hand Dreams, a book retail store in Wallingford.

She is survived by her only daughter, Michelle (Esteves) Conway and her son-in-law, Joseph R. Conway (Fire Inspector for the city of Waterbury), both of Wolcott; four grandchildren.

Private funeral services and burial will beheld at the family's convenience. The Delgado Funeral Home, 66-68 East Clay St., Waterbury, CT 06706 are in charge of arrangements. There are no calling hours.

Elizabeth A. Fusco

SOUTHINGTON -- Elizabeth Ann Fusco, 69, of 92 Ridgewood Road, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003 at home. She was the wife of George M. Fusco Sr.

Born in Southington on Oct. 12, 1933, the daughter of the late Aloysius F. and Mary (Muszynski) Binkowski. She was a lifelong resident of Southington and was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Angelo M. Fusco and his wife, Helene of West Hartford, George M. Fusco Jr. and his wife, Cheryl of Southington, Mary Aleia and her husband, Bryan of Bristol and Frank J. Fusco of Southington; two sisters, Eleanor Burdette and Dorothy DeLuco both of Southington; three brothers, Aloysius Binkowski of Plainville, Robert Binkowski of Southington and Richard Binkowski of Suffield; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Lisa and Michael Fusco and Brenden Aleia; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Thursday, Jan. 23, at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington has charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, 300 Research Parkway, Meriden, CT 06450.

Donna M. Hawley

MERIDEN -- Donna M. Hawley, 39, of Meriden, died unexpectedly on Monday, Jan. 20, 2003 at MidState Medical Center.

Born in Orange, N.J. on Aug. 23, 1963, the daughter of Donald F. and Maureen Collins Hawley of Meriden, she had resided in Meriden for many years prior to moving to Florida in 1985. She returned to Meriden last October. Miss Hawley attended the Open Door School in New Port Richey, Fla., for the past several years, and she leaves many special friends in Florida and Meriden.

Besides her parents, she is survived by four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Catherine and George Avery of Cromwell, Theresa and Ken Stabach of Meriden, Maureen Blotney of Meriden and Ruth and Tom DiOrio of Ocean Township, N.J.; one brother, Kevin Hawley of Oldsmar, Fla.; five nieces and six nephews, Jo-Ann Avery, Jennifer Avery, Laura Kolavage and her husband, Darrin, Ken Stabach Jr., Michael Stabach, Christopher Stabach, Andrew Blotney, Erica, Kristina, Thomas Jr. and Jonathan DiOrio; one great-niece, Kara Kolavage; and two great-nephews, Michael and Kyle Avery. She was predeceased by a brother, Donald F. Hawley of Aurora, Ill.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Thursday, Jan. 23, at 6:30 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Should friends desire, contributions in her memory may be made to the Open Door school, 5837 Vermont Ave., New Port Richey, Fla. 34652.

Francis Milano

WALLINGFORD -- Francis "Skip" Milano, 60, of Pond Hill Road, Wallingford, husband of Karen E. Schultz Milano, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at their residence.

Born in Hartford, Aug. 5, 1942, a son of Antoinette "Ann" Barone Milano of Wallingford and the late James Milano, he had been a Wallingford resident for many years. He was the proprietor of First Choice Caterers of Wallingford for 20 years. He served in the Connecticut National Guard and was a member of the Wallingford Lodge of Elks, No 1365.

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Denise M. and James M. Stefan of Tampa, Fla.; his sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn M. and Jeffrey N. Klein of New Port Richey, Fla.; his brother and sister-in-law, Richard N. and Nancy Milano of Okinawa, Japan; his two nieces, Saria Milano and Sarina Klein; and his two nephews, Richard Milano and Logan Klein.

His family will receive relatives and friends in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St., Ext., Wallingford, Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St John Cemetery in Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the American Diabetes Association Diabetes Association, 300 Research Parkway, Meriden, CT 06450.

Darrell D. Neilander

CARIBOU, Maine -- Darrell Dale Neilander, 62, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003 at his Caribou residence following a long illness.

He was born in Woodland, Maine, July 28, 1940, the son of Edmond and Hannah (Patten) Neilander. Darrell service with the U.S. Army and was a self-employed truck driver for many years.

He is survived by his fiance', Betty Johnston of Caribou, Maine; two daughters, Robin Foelske of Meriden and Lora Neilander-Beaver of Caribou, Maine; three sons, Darrell Neilander of Wallingford, Edmond Neilander of Meriden and Scott Hewitt of Presque Isle, Maine; two brothers, Keith Neilander of Woodland, Maine and Larry Neilander of Summerfield, Fla.; one sister, Doreen Thompson of Stillwater, Maine; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Neilander was predeceased by two daughters, Grace Suchy and Dawn Robinson; and a son, Michael.

Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, Maine Thursday, Jan. 23, from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, from the funeral home.

Allyn F. Currie Jr.

WEST HAVEN -- Allyn Foster Currie Jr., husband of Ann Braun Currie of 41 Jones Hill Road, West Haven, passed away, Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003 in New Haven.

He was the father and father-in-law of Christine (Charles) Germe, Patricia (Joseph) Zaffino, Jennifer (James) Cavallaro and Allyn (Marilyn) Currie; brother of Edward C. and Douglas Currie and Elizabeth Carlowe; grandfather of Jenifer Sheehan, Geoffrey Germe, Jason and Heather Currie and Matthew and Samantha Cavallaro; also survived by four great-grandchildren.

The hours for visitation will be Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. with the funeral services at 3:30 p.m. at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Y-ME (Breast Cancer Support,) 1169 Main St., Suite B3, Branford, CT 06405.
