Josephine Macombe
MERIDEN – Josephine Macombe, 62, of Liberty Street, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998, at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was the wife of the late Frederick Macombe.
She was born in Plains, Pa., March 19, 1936, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Trosko. She worked at the J.R. Sexton Co.
She is survived by a son, John Macombe of Meriden; a brother, Thomas Trosko of Harrisburg, Pa.; and three sisters, Carol Trosko, Marlene Trosko, both of Plains, Pa., Dorothy Oleschefski of Philadelphia, Pa. She is predeceased by a brother, Joseph Trosko.
The funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, at 10 a.m. from the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. John Marston will officiate. Burial will be at the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Joseph G. Oros Sr.
WALLINGFORD – Joseph G. Oros Sr., 56, of 38 McGuire Court, died suddenly Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998, at his home. He was the husband of Mary Ann Elyett Oros.
He was born in New Haven, March 20, 1942, a son of the late Joseph J. and Josephine Tenczer Oros.
He had been employed as a carpenter and installer for Overhead Door in Orange. He had managed the Dairy Queen Little League team for many years and had been active with the Cub Scouts for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Joseph G. Oros Jr. of Rochester, N.H., Michael D. Oros and Stephen J. Oros, both of Wallingford; a sister, Jean Kuchinski of Yalesville; and five grandchildren, Richard J. Oros, Rachel R. Oros, Myles S. Oros, Brett M. Oros, and Preston J. Oros.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 9 a.m. in the chapel of the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Thomas A. Valentine Jr.
SOUTHINGTON – Thomas Anthony Valentine Jr., "TJ", 6, of Southington, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998.
Born in New Britain, he was the beloved son of Thomas A. Valentine Sr. and Mary (Larkin) Valentine. TJ attended South End School, Southington, and loved his time spent with his classmates and teachers.
Besides his parents, he leaves two loving sisters and a brother, Jaime Valentine, Taylor Valentine, Dominic Valentine, all of Southington, and a sister, Leslie Valentine of Palmdale, Calif.; his maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Evelyn Larkin of Southington; many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. TJ was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Anthony and Stephanie Valentine.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 9 a.m., from the Della Vecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., followed by a Mass of the Angels at 10 a.m. at St. Aloysius Church. Interment will be in South End Cemetery, Southington. Relatives and friends are invited to call this evening (THURSDAY) from 5 to 8 p.m. at Della Vecchia's. Memorial donations may be made to Give Kids the World, 210 S. Bass Road, Kissimmee, FL 34747.

Robert R. Calrow
STAMFORD — Robert R. Calrow, died Nov. 29, 1998, at Courtland Gardens Health Center in Stamford. He was the husband of Trudi R. Calrow. A well know watercolorist and teacher, he had gained national recognition and his work has been exhibited in major juried shows both here and abroad.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 20 Forest St., Stamford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to UNICEF.

Antoinette Cybulski
MERIDEN — Antoinette "Toni" Cybulski, 72, wife of the late Frank Cybulski, died on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1998, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., on May 15, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Agnes (Burnititus) Cipolla. She had attended schools in Pennsylvania and had resided in Meriden for the past 54 years. Mrs. Cybulski was employed by the Cabin Restaurant and the Silvertown Restaurant. She was a parishioner of Holy Angels Church and was a member of the Columbian Ladies.
Mrs. Cybulski is survived by two daughters and son-in-laws, Paulette and Howard Ives, and Elizabeth and John J. Mule, all of Meriden; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lynn Cybulski of Walden, N.Y.; a son, Fritz Cybulski and Mary Jakielo of Coventry; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Marion Domalavage of South Meriden, Theresa Penkrot of Meriden, Grace Busch of St. James City, Fla., and Michelle Tuzinski of Radcliffe, Ky.; and by several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, and at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 61 Burban Drive, Branford, CT 06450, or to a charity of one's choice.

Otto W. Donath
WALLINGFORD — Otto W. Donath, 81, of 55 Masonic Ave., died Tuesday at the West Haven Veterans Affairs Medical Center, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Evelyn M. Clarke Donath.
Mr. Donath, a son of the late William and Anna Buchta Donath, was born in North Haven on May 23, 1917. He was a resident of Hamden for most of his life before moving to Wallingford in 1994. He was a toolmaker with Herrick & Cowell of Hamden for 11 years at the time of his retirement. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II on the Yorktown "Fighting Lady" Aircraft Carrier. He was a member of the Mount Carmel Congregational Church in Hamden, a member and Past Master of the Wooster Lodge #79, A.F. & A.M., a member of the Mystic Chapter #76, O.E.S., and serving in his 15th year as Worth Patron, a member and Past Worthy Patron of the Alice Chapter #76 in Hamden, a member of the White Shrine, the Scottish Rite Valley of New Haven, the Lafayette Consistory of Stratford, the National Camping Travelers (NCT), the Rainbow Girls Evergreen Assembly, where he served on the board, and a volunteer at the Masonic Health Care Center in the Train Room.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Evelyn I. Montano; a sister, Florence Bryant of Crestview, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Frost.
The funeral service will be held at Beecher & Bennett, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, on Friday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m. Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be a service by Mystic Chapter O.E.S. at 7 p.m. and a Masonic Service by Wooster Lodge #79 A.F. & A.M. at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery, Hamden. Contributions may be made to Masonic Charity Foundation of Connecticut, P.O. Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492, or to the Mount Carmel Congregational Church, 3284 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT 06518.

Edward F. Lewis
WALLINGFORD — Edward F. Lewis, 87, of Ward St., died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998, at the Skyview Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was the beloved husband of Mary Vitali Lewis.
Born in Wallingford, July 18, 1911, he was a son of the late John and Catherine McGovern Lewis and was a lifelong resident. Mr. Lewis attended Most Holy Trinity School and Lyman Hall High School and was employed by the former International Silver Company for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus No. 5 of Wallingford and Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree, John Barry Assembly of New Haven and was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford.
Besides his wife, Mary, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Peter J. and Jane Lewis of Warwick, R.I.; three grandsons, Ryan C. Lewis, Matthew M. Lewis and Michael P. Lewis; a sister, Ann (Mrs. Al) Buccy of Wallingford; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Katherine Sittnick, Edna Lewis, and Barbara Godo; and a brother, John J. Lewis.
His family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, at 12:15 p.m. from the Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Interment will be in St. Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. Gifts in his memory may be sent to Most Holy Trinity School, 11 No. Whittlesey Ave., Wallingford, CT 06492.

Emmett A. Naczi
WALLINGFORD — Emmett A. Naczi, 15, of 56 Franklin St., died suddenly Monday, Dec. 14, 1998, at home of a cerebral hemorrhage.
He was born in Manchester, July, 9, 1983, a son of Julius J. Naczi Jr. and Bonnie Strickland-Naczi of Wallingford. He was a sophomore at Xavier High School in Middletown. He was a communicant of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, and was an alter server at the church. He was active in the Drama Club at Xavier, the Key Club of Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford, Boy Scout Troop 47 of Wallingford and played violin in the Conn. Youth Symphony.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Noel Naczi; and a sister, Marysara Naczi, both of Wallingford; his paternal grandmother, Mary McNamara Naczi of New Haven; his maternal grandparents, Charles Strickland of Moorsville, N.C. and Betty Grant Armbruster of Shelton.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial Thursday at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 127 North Orchard St., Wallingford. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Wallingford. If friends so desire, gifts in his memory may be made to the Conn. Youth Symphony Scholarship Fund, c/o University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford 06117. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., is in charge of arrangements.

Helen Perchuck
SOUTHINGTON — Helen Dubick Perchuck, 74, of Knowles Ave., in the Plantsville section of Southington, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1998, at Bradley Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late William Perchuck.
Born in Southington on March 14, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Alexandra Dubicki. Helen was a member of the Rosary Society at Immaculate Conception Church and a member of the Calendar House. She retired from the former Allied Control nine years ago.
She is survived by a sister, Sophie Putala of New York; a niece, Barbara Feeney; and two nephews, Richard Sespanski and Walter Putala.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 17, 1998, at Plantsville Memorial Funeral Home, 975 South Main St., Plantsville, at 8 a.m. with a Mass of Christian burial at Immaculate Conception Church at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Frank Smith
NORTH HAVEN — Frank "Smitty" Smith, 75, of 216 Quinnipiac Ave., formerly of Belden Rd., Hamden, died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998, in the Harborside-Arden House of Hamden after a brief illness. He was the widower of Helen M. Quinn Smith.
Born in New Haven, July 3, 1923, he was the son of the late Francis and Susan Harrigan Smith and was a resident of Hamden for most of his life, moving to North Haven in 1985. Mr. Smith was a Hamden policeman for eight years and then owned the Hamden Diner formerly of Hamden for 11 years and then became a Stationary Fireman in the Heating Plant at Southern Connecticut State University for 17 years and then went on to Yale University in the same capacity for seven years, retiring in 1987. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a communicant of St. Therese Church of North Haven and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Carmel Council #3605 of Hamden.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Philip (Suzanne) Hinz of Meriden and Mrs. Monte (Barbara) Beaulieu of Manchester; a son, Jack Smith of Hamden; and eight grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the Hamden Memorial Funeral Home, 1300 Dixwell Ave., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Therese Church, North Haven. Burial will be in All Saint's Cemetery, North Haven, with full military honors. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assn., 300 Research Parkway, Meriden, CT 06450.

Craig C. Sutherland
CHESHIRE — Craig C. Sutherland, 54, of 660 So. Main St., died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998, at St. Mary's Hospital, shortly after being admitted. He was the husband of Susan (Willetts) Sutherland.
Mr. Sutherland was born April 21, 1944, in Waterbury, son of the late Merle S. and Charlotte Mae (Carter) Sutherland, and was a lifelong Cheshire resident. He attended Cheshire schools, graduating from Cheshire High School, class of 1962. At the time of his death, he was employed as a food service route salesman for the All Seasons Co. in Wallingford.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Donald S. Sutherland and Jeffrey M. Sutherland; a daughter, Cara A. Sutherland, all of Cheshire; five brothers, Robert M. Sutherland of Newport News, Va., Darryll Sutherland of Gardenia, Calif., Dean C. Sutherland and Duane K. Sutherland, both of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Barry Sutherland of Cheshire; a sister, Mrs. Karen Luciani of Cheshire; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Yalesville Methodist Church. Burial of cremains will follow the service in Hillside Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main St. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc, Conn. Affiliate, Inc., 300 Research Parkway, Meriden 06450
