Scott E. St. Paul
PORTLAND — Scott Edward St. Paul, 20, of 173 Airline Ave., son of Michael A. St. Paul of Portland and Deborah L. (Mancarella) St. Paul of Cromwell, died Thursday at the St. Francis Hospital due to an automobile accident.
Born in Middletown on July 18, 1978, Scott grew up in Meriden before moving to Portland in 1992. He graduated from Portland High School, class of 1997. He was employed with B & B Equipment Inc. in Portland; most recently he was working for Creative Graphics in Berlin. He was a member of the Friday night mixed bowling league at Berlin Bowling Lanes.
Besides his parents, Scott is survived by three brothers, Michael J. St. Paul, Kenneth M. St. Paul, and Joseph A. St. Paul, all of Portland; his maternal grandmother, Shirley L. Baril of Middletown; paternal grandmother, Viola Raecek of Middletown; his stepmother, Karen (Carta) St. Paul of Portland; his very dear friend, Kimberly Lynn Boutin of Portland; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Portland Memorial Funeral Home, 231 Main St., Portland, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Mary, Portland. Rev. John F. Ashe will be Celebrant and burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Portland. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions in Scott's memory may be made to the Church of St. Mary Rebuilding Fund, 51 Freestone Ave., Portland, CT 06480.

Delores M. Storey
MERIDEN — Delores M. Storey, 68, of 28A Kiki Drive, wife of the late Charles D. Storey Sr., died Saturday peacefully with her little angel, her granddaughter Ashley Sinopoli, at MidState Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Born in Waterbury on Sept. 21, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John and Katherine (Sheehan) Johnson. She resided in Meriden most of her life and had graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Waterbury. Mrs. Storey was employed by ShopRite in Meriden, retiring eight years ago. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Anthony and Minda Sinopoli of Meriden; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Donald and Chrisam Storey Jr. and Bryan R. Storey, all of Meriden; three grandchildren, Nicholas Sinopoli, Brett Storey, and Kyle Storey, all of Meriden; one sister, Mrs. Mary Mauri of Meriden; one brother, Raymond Johnson of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Ashley Sinopoli "her little sweetheart"; two sisters, Dorothy, Milinkovich and Shirley Johnson; and one brother, Robert Johnson.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St. and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m.

Mary Young
SOUTHINGTON — Mary (Ellis) Young, 73, of 43 Academy Rd., died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998, at New Britain General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Theodore Young Sr.
Born Dec. 18, 1925 in New Haven, daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Hopkins) Ellis. She was a communicant of Mary Our Queen Church and was active with several organizations in the area.
She is survived by a son, Theodore Young Jr. and his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Darlene Kurpiewski and her husband, Lester, all of Kensington; a sister, Terry Shingler of Mass.; five grandchildren, Michael, William and Karen Kurpiewski, Elise and Paige Young; and a nephew, Gary Beetle. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Ellis.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to Mary Our Queen Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Donations may be made in her memory to the George Bray Cancer Center, c/o New Britain General Hospital, 100 Grand St., New Britain, CT 06050.

Andrew G. Anderson Sr.
COLCHESTER — Andrew G. Anderson Sr., 69, of 132 Park Ave., died on Sunday morning, Dec. 27, 1998, at the Wm. W. Backus Hospital in Norwich.
He was born on Feb. 22, 1929, in the Bronx, New York, the son of the late Andrew and Frances Sheehy Anderson. He was a 20-year veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, attaining the rank of chief petty officer. He was a member of the Colchester VFW and St. Andrew Catholic Church. He was employed as an electronic tech, working for the Air Flow Instrument Company in Glastonbury. On April 11, 1953, he was married to Helen Gosi at the Saint Brendan Catholic Church in the Bronx, New York.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years; one son, Andrew G. Anderson Jr. and his daughter-in-law, Colette Marcheggiani Anderson of Meriden; a daughter, Helen Marie Olson of Uncasville; one brother, Kenneth Anderson of Colombia, South America; two granddaughters, Grace F. Anderson and Carla Rose Anderson, both of Meriden; a dear friend, Maddy; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Michael J. Anderson, who passed away on Nov. 20, 1970.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1998, at 10 a.m. at the Belmont Funeral Home, 144 South Main St., Colchester. Burial, with full military honors will be in New St. Andrew Cemetery, Colchester. Calling hours in the funeral home will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

John E. Carmody Jr.
DANBURY — John E. Carmody Jr., 52, of 102 Silversmith Drive, formerly of Southington, husband of Francine (Carboni) Carmody, died unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998.
He was born Feb. 3, 1946, in Bristol, son of the late John E. and Marie (Bonney) Carmody. He had been employed for the past 12 years by Cruises Inc. in Syracuse, N.Y. He attended Southington elementary schools and graduated from St. Anthony's High School in Bristol. He served for four years in the U.S. Air Force and later was employed by AT&T. John was a past member of the Southington Elks Club B.P.O.E. and served as exalted ruler from 1973-1974. He was an accomplished bridge player and spent many years teaching his love of the game to others. John will be remembered for his sense of humor and love for his family.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Colleen Carmody; two sisters, Ann Moynihan of Rockville, Md., and Hail Fusco and her husband, Ed; a brother, Patrick Carmody and his wife, Terri, all of Southington; and several nieces and nephews. He will be especially missed by his constant companions Sara and Sami.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington, to St. Thomas Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Donations may be made in his memory to the Meriden Humane Society, 540 Oregon Road, Meriden, CT 06450.

John P. Connolly
MIDDLETOWN — John Patrick Connolly, 89, of South Main St., died Saturday at the Middlesex Convalescent Center.
Born in Manhattan, N.Y., he was the son of the late Bartholomew and Elizabeth (Hirle) Connolly. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a mounted police officer for the New York Police Dept. He was a 4th-degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, with the Lincoln Council of Long Island City, and a member of the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association in New York City, as well as the New York Mounted Police Association.
He is survived by a son, John P. Connolly Jr. of Santa Clara, Calif.; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Rocco Lefemine of Middlefield; a sister, Kathleen George of Medford, Ore.; two grandchildren, Maura Utley and Patrick Lefemine; three great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. from the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, followed by an 11 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Colman's Church, Middlefield. Burial will be in the Middlefield Cemetery. Friends may call at the Biega Funeral Home, Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Helen Filo
MERIDEN — Helen Filo, 69, formerly of 190 Carter Ave. Ext., died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998, at the Westfield Care and Rehab Center. She was the wife of the late Louis W. Filo.
She was born in New York City, July 24, 1929, a daughter of the late Ambrose and Ethel Basa. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and she had been an avid bingo player.
She is survived by a son, Stephen Filo of Meriden; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol Ann and Donald Lamb of Meriden; and two grandsons, Robert Lamb and Michael Lamb, both of Meriden.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 9:15 a.m. from the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, followed by a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Ave. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Anthony J. Formica
MERIDEN — Anthony J. Formica, 51, of Bar-Will Drive, died after a long and courageous battle with cancer due to asbestos-related complications, Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford.
Mr. Formica was born in Middletown, Oct. 10, 1947, a son of Marie Cassidy Formica of Meriden and the late Joseph G. Formica Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Meriden and he attended local schools. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed as a stationary engineer at Connecticut General Life Insurance Co. in Bloomfield for 28 years.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his two daughters and son-in-law, Lisa M. Formica and her husband, James A. Riccitelli, and Jamie L. Formica; his two grandsons, Travis Formica and Jake Riccitelli, all of Meriden; his two sisters and brother-in-law, Diane Kosischke of South Meriden and Deborah and David Luft of Meriden; his brother, Joseph G. Formica Jr. of Meriden; and several nieces and nephews.
His family will receive relatives and friends at the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 520 Paddock Ave., Meriden. The Rev. Carl A. Krueger, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden. Gifts in his memory may be sent to Connecticut Hospice, 61 Burban Drive, Branford, CT 06405.

Fanny Harper
NEW HAVEN — Fanny Roth Harper, 100, of 1028 Whalley Ave., wife of the late David A. Harper, died Saturday, at the Montowese Health Center, North Haven after a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 1, 1898, daughter of the late Frederick and Julia Knodel Roth, and had been a lifelong resident of the city. She was a member of the Westville United Church and its Ladies Guild, the American Legion Auxiliary, Westville Post 39, and a member of the Westville Cemetery board of directors. She was engaged in the catering business for many years.
She is survived by a daughter, Jane H. Lanford of Wallingford; a son, David A. Harper Jr., of New Haven; four grandchildren, Mrs. Gary Cosgrove (Susan), Mrs. Steven Kafka (Linda), both of Wallingford, Douglas P. Harper of Winsted and Robert A. Harper of Sacramento, Calif. She was predeceased by a grandson, Cecil Lanford Jr.; and four great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the Hawley Lincoln Memorial, 493 Whitney Ave., New Haven, Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the service. Interment will be private. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Building Fund of Zion Lutheran Church. 235 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford, CT 06492 or to Connecticut Hospice Inc., 61 Burban Drive, Branford, CT 06405.

Lois J. LaBonia
WALLINGFORD — Lois J. Hinde LaBonia, 50, of the Ridges at Pond Hill, Wallingford, formerly of North Haven, wife of Vincent LaBonia Jr., died Dec. 27, 1998, at the UConn Medical Center in Farmington.
She was the mother of Denise LaBonia and the late Lenore LaBonia; and sister of Francis and Judith Hinde, Donna Pond and the late Richard Hinde.
Funeral services from the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave, are incomplete and will be announced today. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lenore LaBonia Scholarship Fund, c/o Sacred Heart Academy, 265 Benham St., Hamden, 06518.

Donald B. Norton
CHESHIRE — Donald B. Norton Sr., 81, of 466 Academy Road, co-owner and operator of Norton Brothers Fruit Farm in Cheshire, died Sunday at the Masonic Home and Hospital in Wallingford after a brief illness. He was the husband of Ruth V. (Hine) Norton.
Mr. Norton was born in Cheshire, July 21, 1917, a son of the late Birdsey and Ruby (French) Norton. He was educated in Cheshire and Southington schools and was a life member of the First Congregational Church in Cheshire. He was a member of the New Haven County Farm Bureau and the Connecticut Pomological Society of which he was distinguished as an award recipient. He was an avid duckpin bowler and was inducted into the Duckpin Hall of Fame during his earlier years.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Casey of Cheshire and Mrs. Carolyn Sleczek of Averill, N.Y.; his brother and business partner, Judson W.B. Norton of Cheshire; four grandchildren, Lara Sleczek of Boston, Mass., and Jeffrey, Erin and Brett Casey, all of Cheshire.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at 2 p.m. in the First Congregational Church on the green in Cheshire. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Slater Funeral Home, 242 South Main St., Cheshire. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross Blood Mobile in your area.
