Ronald T. Page
NORTH HAVEN — Ronald T. Page, 67, of 266 Bassett Road, husband of Alexandra Jermine Page, died Dec. 26, 1998, at his home.
He was the father of, Karen Page Fine and her husband, Dr. Neil A. Fine; grandfather of Neil and Peter Fine; brother of Kenneth R. Page, Winifred Rubino, Barbara Clough and the late Russell L. Page Jr., Alfred E. Page and Shirley M. Griffiths.
Relatives and friends are invited to go directly to St. John's Episcopal Church on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. for funeral services. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 3 Trumbull Place, North Haven 06473; or the Connecticut Hospice Inc., 61 Burban Drive, Branford 06405. The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., is in care of the arrangements.

Helen U. Zygmont
MERIDEN — Helen U. Zygmont, 92, of 201 Curtis St., wife of the late Frank S. Zygmont, died Dec. 27, 1998, in the Curtis Home after a lengthy illness.
Born in Girardville, Pa., Feb. 25, 1906, Mrs. Zygmont attended schools in Pennsylvania , then moved to Meriden in 1920, where she spent the rest of her life. She had been employed by New Departure and then S.S. Kresge, and was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church.
Mrs. Zygmont is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Francis H. and Catherine Zygmont of Meriden; four grandchildren, Richard, Steven, Christine and Jeffrey Zygmont, all of Meriden; one sister, Mildred Klimas of Reading, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Sally Quimby and two brothers, John and Walter Urban.
The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St. A Mass of Christian burial will be held in St. Stanislaus Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Elizabeth Beckwith
GILBERT, Ariz. — Elizabeth (Perry) Beckwith, 82, of Gilbert, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998.
She is survived by a son, Robert Beckwith Jr. of Clinton, Conn.,; two daughters, Virginia Sireno of Meriden, Conn., and Joyce King of Gilbert; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. in Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill, Conn. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park. Calling hours are one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m.

Fanny Harper
NEW HAVEN — Fanny Roth Harper, 100, of 1028 Whalley Ave., wife of the late David A. Harper, died Saturday, at the Montowese Health Center, North Haven after a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 1, 1898, daughter of the late Frederick and Julia Knodel Roth, and had been a lifelong resident of the city. She was a member of the Westville United Church and its Ladies Guild, the American Legion Auxiliary, Westville Post 39, and a member of the Westville Cemetery board of directors. She was engaged in the catering business for many years.
She is survived by a daughter, Jane H. Lanford of Wallingford; a son, David A. Harper Jr. of New Haven; four grandchildren, Mrs. Gary Cosgrove (Susan), Mrs. Steven Kafka (Linda), both of Wallingford, Douglas P. Harper of Winsted and Robert A. Harper of Sacramento, Calif.; and four great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by two brothers, three sisters and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held at the Hawley Lincoln Memorial, 493 Whitney Ave., New Haven, Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the service. Interment will be private. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Building Fund of Zion Lutheran Church. 235 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford, CT 06492 or to Connecticut Hospice Inc., 61 Burban Drive, Branford, CT 06405.

Lois J. LaBonia
WALLINGFORD — Lois J. Hinde LaBonia, 50, of the Ridges at Pond Hill, formerly of North Haven, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at the Jack Dempsey Medical Center, Farmington. She was the wife of Vincent LaBonia Jr.
Mrs. LaBonia was born in Meriden on May 26, 1948, and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Helen Lussier Hinde. A resident of North Haven for 25 years until moving to Wallingford in 1996. She had worked as a teller for Lafayette American National Bank and was a parishioner of St. Frances Cabrini Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Denise LaBonia of Wallingford; sisters, Judith Hinde of Wallingford and Donna Pond of Meriden; and a brother, Francis Hinde of Wallingford. She was predeceased by a daughter, Lenore LaBonia, and a brother, Richard Hinde.
Relatives and friends are invited to go directly to St. Frances Cabrini Church, Pond Hill Road, North Haven, at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday for a Mass of Christian burial. Entombment will follow in the All Saints Mausoleum, North Haven. The visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lenore LaBonia Scholarship Fund, c/o Sacred Heart Academy, 265 Benham St., Hamden 06581.

William E. Malerba
LOS LUNAS, N.M. — Ret. Lt. Col. William E. Malerba, 56, husband of Terry Norris Malerba, died Dec. 21, 1998, in the Lovelace-Bataan Medical Center, Albuquerque, after a brief fight with cancer.
He was born in Meriden, Aug. 24, 1942, a son of Helen DeCola Malerba of Meriden and the late G. William Malerba. He graduated from Maloney High School, where he was a co-captain of the undefeated 1959 football team. He went on to the United Stated Air Force Academy, graduating in 1965. He earned his wings in 1966. He was the recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Meritorious Service Medal and the Air Force Commendation Medal. His exemplary career included 2,500 flying hours, 127 combat missions, flying F-4 Phantom jets in Vietnam in 1967 and 1968, and various command assignments in strategic positions throughout the world. After his retirement in 1990, he was employed as a program manager and senior systems analyst with Correa Enterprises of Albuquerque. He was currently a facilities engineer with the Intel Corp.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by three daughters, Mandy Malerba and Melissa Sholders, both of Colorado, and Molly Malerba of Los Lunas; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Kitty Malerba of Meriden; and several nieces and nephews.
His memorial services will be held Monday, Jan. 4, 1998, in the main chapel of the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., at 10:30 a.m. He will be interred on the academy grounds.

James Sackey
MERIDEN — James Sackey, 53, of 34 Allen Court, died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, in Connecticut Hospice, Branford, after a brief illness.
He was born in Atlantic City, N.J., Oct. 14, 1945, a son of the late Vincent W. and Anna Smith Sackey. He was a resident of Meriden most of his life. He was a security guard with Pinkerton Security Services, Meriden, for the past several years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church.
He is survived by a sister, Susan Sharron of Spring Hill, Fla.; a niece, Tammy Sharron of Milford; a nephew, Lawrence Sharron of Spring Hill; and several aunts and uncles.
His funeral will be held Thursday, Dec. 31, in the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 226 West Main St., at 8:15 a.m. with procession to St. Joseph Church for a 9 a.m. funeral liturgy. He will be buried with his mother in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday, Dec. 30, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Helene K. Varano
MERIDEN — Helene K. Varano, 47, of 107 Quarry Lane, loving wife of Martin J. Varano, departed into the hands of the Lord on Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, in her home after a lengthy illness.
Born in Teaneck, N.J., on Dec. 19, 1951, she was the daughter of Adelaide (Taneman) Wilton of Meriden and the late Robert Wilton. She had resided in Wallingford for 19 years before moving to Meriden 26 years ago. She was a graduate of Lyman Hall High School and later became a certified insurance agent, earning several degrees in the insurance field. Mrs. Varano was employed by Tracy-Driscoll Insurance Agency of Bristol. She was also a dance instructor and volunteered her services at St. Mary Parochial School in Meriden, teaching tap and ballet. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Church and a past president of the Home and School Association of St. Mary School.
Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by two loving and devoted sons, Brian and Robert Varano of Meriden of Meriden; one brother and sister-in-law, James R. and Lenore Wilton of Shalimar, Fla.; one aunt and uncle, Joseph and Dorothy Wilton of Wallingford; several nieces, nephews; and many relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Meriden. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meriden. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Mary School Scholarship Fund, 5 Sherman Place, Meriden, CT 06451.

Joseph Budwitz
MERIDEN — Joseph Budwitz, 78, of Meriden, died Wednesday Dec. 23, 1998, at MidState Medical Center.
Born in Meriden, March 1, 1920, he was the son of the late Frank and Anna Budwitz. He was employed by the city of Meriden for a number of years and wrote sports stories for the Record-Journal for several years. He also wrote for the New Haven Register, the Hartford Courant and Torch Magazine, a publication of the Miller Company. He was awarded Sportsman of Distinction in 1984 from the Meriden Sports Reunion Committee. He was a member of the Boys Club. He played baseball for the Dexters championship semi-pro baseball team, and the five-time Meriden fast-pitch softball champions, Walt's Hillside Team. For more than 50 years he served various Meriden athletic teams and programs, as a scorer, statistician, publicist and public address announcer, earning the unofficial designation as "Meriden Sport's Historian." In 1990 he was awarded the Connecticut Sports Writers' Alliance Good Sport Award for his civic contributions.
He is survived by a sister, Nell Driscoll of Pace, Fla.
A memorial Mass will be held Thursday, Dec. 31, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 159 West Main St., Meriden. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry and Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden.

Floyd A. Dearborn
SOUTHINGTON — Floyd A. Dearborn, 58, of 25 Bristol St., died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, at Bradley Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Julia (Gregory) Dearborn.
Born Jan. 14, 1940, in Mars Hill, Maine, son of Laura (Bartley) Dearborn of Virginia. and the late Rev. Frederick Dearborn. He had been employed by the former Mitchell Motors Inc. for many years.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Betty Jane Bosco of Nevada and Caroline Dearborn of Southington; his stepchildren, Christine Pelletier, Laura Dee, Jeffrey Dee, Thomas Dee and Jerry Dee; three brothers, Frederick Dearborn of New York, Onal Dearborn of Maine and Dwayne Dearborn of Virginia; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Milton G. Gagne
SOUTHINGTON — Milton G. Gagne, 75, of 38 Red Oak Drive, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998, at Plainville Health Care Center. He was the husband of Grace (Kennedy) Gagne.
Born June 27, 1923 in New Haven, son of the late Henry and Lillian (Gagnon) Gagne. He served in the U.S. Army for 5 1/2 years and served in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Southington police force for a number of years. He was a printer by trade and after leaving the police force he worked for the Meriden Record-Journal for 25 years. He was a member of the Kiltonic Post 72.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two brothers, Robert Gagne of Southington and Lionel Gagne of Pawcatuck, R.I.; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Mary Our Queen Church. Burial will be with military honors at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Hospice of Central Connecticut, 40 East St., Plainville, CT 06062.
