Sebastian Branciforte
ELLENTON, Fla. — Sebastian "Slim" Branciforte, 78, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998, at the Manatee Hospital in Bradenton, Fla. He was a longtime resident of Newington.
He was born in Cromwell and was a foreman for the town of Rocky Hill, Conn., having retired in 1982. He attended Cromwell schools. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a former member of the Italian American Club of Cromwell and the B.P.O.E. of Rocky Hill and a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Manship) Branciforte; two daughters, Jacquelynn Ditta and her husband, John, of Wallingford and Micki Branciforte of New Britain; two stepsons, George Munro of Mt. Holly, Vt., and Ronald Munro; two stepdaughters, Jeanne Bailey and her husband, Paul, and Dawn Fuehrer, both of Newington; a brother, Salvatore Branciforte of Wetherfield; a sister, Mary Zanke of Bozrah, Conn.; many grandchildren, including Katie-Jo Ditta, Paul and Scott Girouard; two great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Jennie Branciforte and Mary Branciforte; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Carmelo Branciforte and Alfred Branciforte, and two sisters, Theresa Branciforte and Anna Sattersfield.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, at 9:15 a.m. from the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Newington. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Antoinette Cooke
SOUTHINGTON — Antoinette Cooke, 85, of West Center Street, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998, at Mediplex of Connecticut.
Born in Southington on Jan. 17, 1913, the daughter of the late Joseph and Carmella Avitable. Prior to her retirement she was employed by the former Allied Control Co. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church.
She is survived by a sister, Sue Pestillo of Southington; nieces and nephews, Connie and her husband, Thomas Cocomo, of New Britain, Judy and Bill Cibula of Meriden, Janet and Bill Viselli of Venice, Fla., Carmel Avitable of Southington, Carmen and Margaret Mottola and Louis Avitable of Southington; and several great-nieces and -nephews.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, Bristol St. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. There are no calling hours. DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. has charge of arrangements.

Edward T. Cox
MERIDEN — Edward T. Cox, of 590 Allen Ave., husband of Margaret Masler Cox, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998, at home.
Born in Wallingford, son of the late Edward and Lydia Schomburg Cox, he had resided in the Meriden-Wallingford area for all his lifetime. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania , Wharton School of Finance, he was a retired executive with the International Silver Co. Mr. Cox was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army Air Corps. He was a parishioner of Holy Angels Church and a past district deputy of the Wallingford Elks Lodge No. 1365.
Besides his wife, Margaret, he is survived by two sons, attorney Edward Cox of Orlando, Fla., and John Cox of Fayetteville, Ga. He is also survived by three granddaughters, Justine, Lauren and Megan Cox; a sister, Virginia Cox of Meriden; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., and at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday, Nov. 23 , from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Franciscan Life Center, 271 Finch Ave., Meriden, CT 06451 or Holy Angels Church, 585 Main St., South Meriden, CT 06451.

Palma DiDonato
SOUTHINGTON — Palma (Semeraro) DiDonato, 77, of 408 Main St., formerly of 1042 West Main St., Waterbury, wife of Carmen DiDonato, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998, at the Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. DiDonato was born in Waterbury on Oct. 25, 1921, a daughter of the late John and Nancy (Santulli) Semeraro. She moved to Southington in 1998 and was employed at University of Connecticut in Waterbury until she retired in 1973. She previously worked at Southern New England Telephone Company and Waterbury Buckle. Along with her family, she owned and operated Semeraro Grocery Store on Edgewood Avenue in Waterbury from 1944 until 1948. She was an avid seamstress. She was a graduate of Tinker Grammar School and attended Wilby High School. She was a former member of Russell School PTA and a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Rocco DiDonato of Waterbury; a daughter, Pamela Toman of Plantsville; a brother, Domenic Semeraro of Waterbury; two sisters, Josephine Stabile and Antoinette Semeraro, both of Waterbury; two grandsons, Jeffrey Toman and Kyle Toman, whom she highly cherished; and a son-in-law, Matthew Toman.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, to Blessed Sacrament Church for a Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The calling hours are Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 300 Research Parkway, Meriden, CT 06451.

Raymond G. Lombra
MERIDEN — Raymond G. Lombra, 66, husband of Margaret 'Peggy' A. Wood Lombra, of 16 Lewis Ave., died Friday evening at home after a saddening struggle with cancer.
He was born in Meriden, Jan. 25, 1932, a son of the late Harold G. Lombra and Arlene Simons Lombra Hansen. He was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army during the late 1940s. He retired as crew leader for the town of Wallingford, Department of Public Works after 25 years of employment. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Lee Luca King and Robert King of Cheshire; three grandchildren, Gregory Luca, Bryan Luca and Melissa King, all of Cheshire; his twin sister, Arlene Gudelski of Meriden; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, George Harold Lombra.
Funeral services for Mr. Lombra will begin Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at 9:45 a.m. in the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 226 West Main St., with procession to St. Joseph Church for his 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of his family. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, from 5 to 8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Franciscan Home Care, 267 Finch Ave., Meriden, CT 06451. The Lombra family send sincere gratitude to all at Franciscan Home Care for their dedication and compassion while assisting Mr. Lombra in his final months.

Mary Nuzzo
WALLINGFORD — Mary DeCrescenzo Nuzzo, 93, formerly of New Haven and Wallingford, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998, at Miller Memorial Community, Meriden. She was the wife of the late Albert A. Nuzzo.
Mrs. Nuzzo was born in New Haven, Nov. 5, 1905, daughter of the late Luca and Rose Pagano DeCrescenzo, and had lived in New Haven for many years and in Wallingford for 16 years, until she moved to Miller Memorial Community, where she had resided for the past 10 years. She had been a seamstress at Sunbeam Dress Co. in New Haven for many years and was employed later at the former A.C. Gilbert Co. in New Haven.
She is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Nancy and Ernest Cassella of Bethany, Roseanne and Domenic Conte of Tamarac, Fla., Mary (Mrs. John) Markowski of Naples, Fla., and Lorraine and Everett Bailey of Wallingford; her daughter-in-law, Ruth Carroll Nuzzo of Conway, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Vincent L. Nuzzo, and her sister, Vivian Falango.
Her family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Tuesday morning, from 9:15 a.m. until 10:15 a.m., when the funeral cortege will proceed to the Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Gifts in her memory may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1818, Memphis, TN 38101.

Lucy Cricco
WALLINGFORD – Lucy Ferrucci Cricco, 93, of Pond Hill Road, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998, in the Skyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Wallingford. She was the wife of the late Salvatore Cricco Sr.
Born in Branford, Dec. 20, 1904, daughter of the late Peter and Rose Civitello Ferrucci, she was a Hamden resident before moving to Wallingford 51 years ago. She was a parishioner of the Church of the Resurrection.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary R. Cricco and Rose B. Schede, both of Wallingford; three sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony T. and Mary Cricco of Cape Coral, Fla., Andrew M. Cricco of Wallingford, Salvatore Cricco Jr. and Patricia Cricco of Wallingford and Irene Cricco of West Hartford; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Peter S. Cricco; three sisters, Concetta Raccio, Mary Gaudio and Carmella Acabbo; and a daughter-in-law, Ann Cricco. She will be fondly remembered for her hospitality and her love of company who visited at her home.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St., Ext., Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. from the Wallingford Funeral Home when the funeral cortege will proceed to the Church of the Resurrection for a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the Church of the Resurrection Care Committee, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford, CT 06492.

Jacquelyn Fuchs
MERIDEN — Jacquelyn Fuchs, 33, beloved daughter of Delores Johnson, died suddenly Friday, Nov. 20, 1998.
Jackie was born in Middletown, Feb. 26, 1965. She is survived by her sons, Damon Fuchs, William and Alan Nerbonne, Brandon Fratzel, and daughter, Denise Nerbonne.
She leaves behind her brothers, Moe Fuchs, Junie Johnson; and sisters, Cheryl and Doreen Fuchs; her nieces, Monica, Christine, Stephanie, and Brittany; and nephew, Robert Fuchs.
She is also survived by many friends who love her. Among them are Bill, Rachel, Rainy, Vinnie, Chico, Richard, Marlene and Debbie Lesley whom she held close to her heart.
Jackie is predeceased by sisters, Mindy Fuchs, Jessica Johnson; and stepfather, Harry Johnson.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Otto W. Marunda
MERIDEN — Otto William Marunda, 96, of 100 Arch St., died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998, in his home. He was the husband of the late Lena H. Marunda.
He was born Nov. 30, 1901, in Wallingford, a son of the late Herman and Bertha Marunda. He worked as a general foreman at New Departure until his retirement in 1954. He was a member of Masonic Center Lodge No. 97 AF and AM.
He is survived by close friends, Judith and Michael Pienkosz Sr. of Wallingford and James Fontana of Meriden; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. Carl A. Krueger will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. If desired, contributions in Mr. Marunda's memory may be made to the Masonic Charity Foundation, Masonic Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492.
