LOUISE L. SPELLACY
MERIDEN — Louise L. Spellacy, 85, of 68 Belvedere Drive, beloved wife of the late Lawrence P. Spellacy, died on Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, peacefully after a lengthy illness. Her children were at her side.
Born in Meriden on Jan. 20, 1913, daughter of the late John and Ida (Haupmann) Lenz, she was a lifelong resident. She attended St. Mary Parochial School, Meriden High School and the Laurel Business School. Mrs. Spellacy was employed by International Silver Co. She had also worked in the office of St. Rose Church in Meriden and for the Society for the Propagation of the Faith in Hartford. She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of the St. Rose Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the Meriden Council of Catholic Women, the Notre Dame High Mothers Club and the Auxiliary of the Monastery of the Precious Blood in Watertown, N.Y.
Mrs. Spellacy is survived by three daughters, Sheila L. Spellacy of Meriden, Mary C. Spellacy of South Windsor, and Susan Spellacy of Vernon; a son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence P. and Mary Ellen Spellacy of Wethersfield; four sisters, Sister Mary Ignatia of the Sisters of the Precious Blood in Watertown, N.Y., Margaret Lenz and Marie Lenz, both of Meriden, and Esther Harduby of Weston, Vt.; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Siebert Sr. of Meriden and Zeno Lagace of Fountain City, Wis. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Spellacy was predeceased by two sisters, Hilda Lagace, and her twin, Lucille Siebert.
The funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., and at 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Monastery of the Precious Blood, 400 Pratt St., Watertown, N.Y. 13601.

LINDA IRZYK
MERIDEN — Linda Irzyk, 49, of 51 S. First St., wife of the late Richard Irzyk, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998, in Yale-New Haven Hospital.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Dec. 29, 1948, a daughter of Thomas Smith of Meriden and the late Anna 'Nancy' Wanto Smith. She was a lifelong resident. She was employed for the past seven years by Bloomingdale's in the catalogue sales division. She had also been employed by the Wallace Silversmith for several years. She attended Maloney High School, and she was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church.
Besides her father she is survived by her son, Christopher Irzyk of Meriden, two stepsons, Richard and Jeffrey Irzyk, both of Branford; three sisters, and two brothers-in-law, Andrea and Timothy Mosier of Meriden, Theresa and John Harrington of Wolcott, and Elaine Lewis of Meriden; a brother, Thomas 'TJ' Smith, also of Meriden; several nieces and nephews. She leaves two very special friends, Carl and Karen D'Addario of Meriden. She was predeceased by her first husband, Richard Brayshaw.
Relatives and friends may attend her funeral services beginning in the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 226 W. Main St., at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 1998, with her funeral liturgy in St. Joseph Church at 10:30 a.m. She will be interred in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

ESTHER I. LAGASSE
FERRUM, Va. — Esther Ida Lagasse, 93, of Ferrum, Va. and formerly of Meriden, died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, in Blue Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Martinsville, Va. She was the widow of William John Lagasse.
She was born in Meriden, Conn., Nov. 9, 1904, a daughter of the late Albert Holznagel and Lena Meschke Holznagel.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Richard Rusgrove, of Ferrum; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Rusgrove, Susan Shively, Daniel Rusgrove, Andrew Rusgrove, Thomas Rusgrove, all of Ferrum, and Matthew Rusgrove, Roanoke, Va.; and six great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Carder-Tharp Funeral Home and Crematory, Bedford, Va.

MARIA ALDI
AREZZO, Italy — Maria Grazia (Bertolloni) Aldi died July 30, 1998, in Arezzo, Italy.
She is survived by her husband, Angelo, two children and two grandchildren, all of Italy; mother-in-law, Christina Aldi of Southington; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dominic and Rose Ingriselli of Southington; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph and Pam Aldi of Southington; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sebastiano and Maria Morello of Plantsville.
Burial was in Italy.

ROBERT COURTEMANCHE
MERIDEN — Robert Courtemanche, born March 12, 1938, died Aug. 7, 1998, at home.
Graveside service will be held Friday 2 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, Maple Street, Danielson.

ELINOR N. HOWLAND
WALLINGFORD — Elinor N. Howland, 92, of 32 William St., died Thursday, Aug. 13, 1998, at the Meriden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Ralph B. Howland.
She was born in Dennis, Mass., Nov. 2, 1905, a daughter of the late Edwin and Harriet Scott Newton.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wallingford, the Wallingford Grange and the Wallingford Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by a son, William B. Howland of Holliston, Mass., two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Ruth) French of Meriden and Barbara Howland of Wallingford; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 941 Old Rock Hill Road, Wallingford, with the Rev. Trudy Brady officiating. Burial will be at In Memoriam Cemetery.
Friends may call at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.

MARILYN LAZUK
WALLINGFORD — Marilyn Naumann Lazuk, of Apple Tree Lane, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 1998, at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was the wife of Alexander J. Lazuk.
Mrs. Lazuk was born in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Golden Naumann, and had lived in the Fair Haven section of New Haven before moving to Wallingford 41 years ago. She had been employed by Dime Savings Bank of Wallingford until her retirement, and had previously been employed at New Haven Savings Bank. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Yalesville.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen L. and Peter L. Ohrenberger of Marshfield, Mass., and Martha L. and Nigel A. Swift of Yorktown Heights, N.Y.; her son, David A. Lazuk of Middletown; her three grandchildren, Peter L. Ohrenberger Jr., Christine E. Ohrenberger, and Jack Swift; and her brother, John D. Naumann of North Haven.
Her family will receive relatives and friends at the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, Sunday from 4 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:15 a.m. from the Yalesville Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the charity of one's choice.

PETER A. ALIMONOS
MERIDEN — Peter A. Alimonos, 42, of 19 Chatham Drive, died Saturday morning at home.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Jan. 19, 1956, a son of Anastasios and Christina Karuls Alimonos of South Meriden. He was employed at the Twin Maples Healthcare Facility in Middlefield.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Christina Alimonos of Maryland; three brothers, Steven Alimonos of South Meriden, Constantine Alimonos of New Jersey and John Alimonos of Greece.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford, with the Rev. James Bogiatzis of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in New Britain officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday one hour prior to the funeral service.

THERESA R. CAVALLARO
WALLINGFORD — Theresa (Terry) Rita Cavallaro, 73, of 42 South Cherry St., died Saturday at her home after a long illness. She was the former wife of the late Nicholas Mastracchio.
Ms. Cavallaro was born in Bristol on March 17, 1925, a daughter of the late Frank and Maria Civitello Cavallaro. She lived in New Haven for most of her life, then in West Haven for 25 years, and in Wallingford for the past nine years. She was a hostess at the Howard Johnson's on Long Wharf in New Haven for 17 years until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of the Wallingford Senior Citizens Center and a parishioner of the Most Host Trinity Church, Wallingford.
She is survived by two daughters, Maureen Jakubisyn of Wallingford and Marleen Mastracchio of West Haven; a brother, Daniel Cavallaro of North Haven; and a sister, Rose Gentillo of Montana; and a granddaughter. She is predeceased by seven sisters, Anna, Rachel and Philomena Cavallaro, Josephine Giannotti, Loretta Consiglio, Jennie Vergarti and Antoinette Tyler.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 9:15 a.m. from the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in the Most Holy Trinity Church, Wallingford. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Wallingford. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday , from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 127 Washington Ave., North Haven, CT 06473.
